I felt a longing to trail my hands on her body. To explore and know the vampire who managed to steal my heart. I inched closer, every single cell of my body hyper aware of her nearness. The music picked up its rhythm, and we swayed with each other, a dance of seduction that slowly but surely consumed my mind. My eyes automatically went to her lips, frozen in a half-smile, tempting, coaxing me to kiss her. In this moment, my sickness, my parents and siblings, every thought seemed to vanish, except her and me. Sweat trickled down my back. I leaned nearer, nearer, feeling her breath on my face. I opened my mouth, ready to taste the forbidden fruit in front of me.

Yuriko Hime had her humble beginnings in an indie publishing website. After getting 3 million plus reads on her book Starstruck, and getting a demand from her readers, she decided to have it published. She goes back and forth in Sacramento California and Asia and calls both places her home. When not writing books, Hime dwells on life's biggest why's, such as why Nutella is not called candy, and why the fine print under labels was placed there if she can't read it anyway.
I was very torn between giving this one star or two stars. I decided on one, because I couldn't finish it.
This book was a mess. It started quite promising and then it went to hell.
First things first. I know this was first published on wattpad, but I actually paid money for it - even though it was only 0.99$ - and when I pay money for something, I expect there not to be grammar errors such as - your/you're, there/their and other. English is not even my first language and I noticed immediately. Also the writer has some kind of a problem with the word 'fucked' because instead of that she uses 'F'cked'. In a book.
Heartbeat was all over the place. There were vampires, then all of a sudden everyone else who wasn't a vampire was a werewolf. It didn't make any sense.
Now let's get to the creepy part. The guys in this book were creepy as hell. Right at the beginning a brother of Clover, who was our main character - very unlikeable in her stupidity, by the way - proudly called her 'his lover.' And he thought it was totally okay to call his own sister like that.
Then there's another brother of another main character. This time he's a vampire and he is confident that it's totally okay to want to fuck his own sister and to marry her. He actually tries that a couple of times. Rape her, I mean. Because it was an attempt to rape her. She wouldn't do it willingly. Obviously.
I was creeped out and disgusted. It's not a good book at all. It felt more like a fanfiction anyway. A bad one.
The love story between a vampire and human has been repeated thousands of times, but this book gave a different take to the whole thing. First off, I loved the fact that it was a lesbian novel and not one of those Edward Cullen and Bella Swan types of stories. It was dark, alluring, and completely sensual.
The main characters Clover and Emiri each had their own struggles to deal with, but it made them closer and made their love more powerful. Some of the scenes made me cry, while others made me laugh. The author presented us with raw emotions that kept me turning the pages.
I love this book. I got hooked when I read how much Emiri loves Clover. Their love is so intense that it oozes to you and make you feel that they have undying love.
