The book Monsters on the run from the Yeti Files series is written and Illustrated by Kevin Sherry. This book is a fiction book and I choose this book because the cover looked fun and I liked the name.
This story takes place in a fictional world with yetis, monsters and leprechauns. The story starts in their normal world and then they time travel 65 million year back in time to the age of the dinosaurs.
The main character’s are a Yeti, Nessie and a golem. They travel back in time to find a friend for Nessie that is just like her.
In the start they play a game about a battle and then they get a letter from nessie that says that she is lonely and wants someone like her for a friend, in the middle of the book they time travel back to the dinosaurs to find a dinosaur that looks like her, and finally at the end of the book they travel back and find a friend for Nessie that is in the same time as her.
All in all I really enjoyed this book and I hope others will to. I believe this book should be for all ages above 2, even the ones who can not read because it is pretty funny and simple.

I need to start off by stating that my son absolutely loves this book and the series. We have just finished reading this one for a second time and have read the first one at least a half dozen times. My son has been earning books as part of a summer reading challenge, for every 10 days he reads he gets to pick a book of his choosing. And he is counting down the days until he can get book 3. He is also frequently asking if there will be more books (Hint, hint Kevin and Scholastic). My son loves flipping through these books, often going back and forth looking at the illustrations, comparing what is happening with what happened.

This book is less of a story, but also not a graphic novel. It is not a picture book in the strictest sense. It does have a tale, but at time not told in a linear fashion. Each page has text and some wonderful illustrations. In this instalment of the Yeti Files - Nessie the Loch Ness Monster is thinking of revealing herself because she is son lonely. So after she contacts Blizz the leader of the cryptids and leader of a crack team of cryptozoologists, that includes a little monster, a dog and many others set off to travel back in time 65 million years with the help of a leprechaun to try and find Nessie a friend. But the age of the dinosaurs can be a scary and dangerous place even for the cryptids and their crew. Shortly after arriving the team is separated and each group has their own adventure before meeting up. Can they all make it back home safe? Can they find a friend for Nessie? Read to find out.

This book and the series are great book to read. My son who is 8 and youngest daughter at 5 both love them. They will bring readers back again and again.

Nessie the Lochness monster is lonely. Everyone else in her loch has others of the same species to hang out with. Not her. Blizz and friends decide there's only one thing to do, go back in time and find a dinosaur friend for Nessie. There's just one teensy weensy problem. They forgot that dinosaurs are not all friendly beasts.

There's a nice twist to the plot in this one, and the moral of the story is always listen to the leprachaun before traveling back in time to be chased by meat-eating giant lizards. Ok, so maybe it is just be a good listener. Either way, I liked this one better than the first in the series. It had more of a plot. The cute kitten gag was stellar, and there's a good lesson.

Notes on content: Violence is threatened and talked about but not shown. This was just as safe as a kids' cartoon.

Nessie is lonely and contacts Blizz, the Yeti and his cryptid gang for help finding another monster of her kind. So the gang sets out traveling through time using a Leprechaun's magic to find a friend for Nessie.

If you like cryptids this is a cute series for you. The chapters are quick to read. I love that the pictures of scenery or the inside of houses/laboratories are labeled and very detailed. My elementary age boys are very into the Bad Guys and other silly chapter books and this one was a crowd pleaser. I think I enjoyed this story more than the first book in the series. The illustrations are so cute too. We look forward to reading the next book in the series.

Very simple children's graphic novel. Yeti and friends try to help Nessie by travelling back in time (with a little leprechaun magic). She decides that being a Plesiosaurus when there are sharp toothed creatures trying to eat you is a little too scary! Fortunately, the leprechaun has one more trick up his sleeve.

Miss 7 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

Blizz Richards and his team of cryptids try to find a friend for Vanessa, a lonely Loch Ness monster, by traveling back it time to the Cretaceous period. Black and white illustrations cover all the pages of this book and complement the limited dialogue made up of one or two sentences per page. A second grader could polish off this title in less than 30 minutes. Give this funny title to reluctant readers.

Book 2 in series. Chapter book/graphic novel style mashup with monsters needing help. This time there is a time-traveling leprechaun. Silly fun that the little one can also read somewhat independently. She loves them.

I think this book is hard to follow. In this book the Yeti helps the Loch Ness monster who is feeling lonely. I am thinking throw series is best for 4th grade and up.

The second book was just as good as the first and it teaches about friendship and being grateful for what you already have.

Those crazy cryptids are back for more fun. This time they start off with a quick game of image scrimmage between Blizz and Cousin Brian, in which we learn that even the toughest monsters can be defeated by a cute kitty. But as soon as Brian leaves, Blizz gets a call for help from Vanessa (also known as the Loch Ness Monster). So Blizz, Alex, Gunthar, and the dogs pile on their bicycles and travel to Scotland to see if they can fix Vanessa's problem. With the help of a leprechaun named Tobin Clover, our band of helpful monsters travels through time to find a solution for Nessie's dilemma. Some of them make new friends (like a lovely family of protoceratops), while others almost get eaten by a T-Rex. Eventually they do find their way back home and get some valuable information from Tobin. Of course, as soon as they start to relax, another call for help comes in. But that's just a typical day in the life of the world's foremost cryptozoologist.

Fans who enjoyed the first Yeti Files will be glad to see some favorite characters return. For those readers who haven't tried the series yet, this adventure is just as much silly fun as the first - so jump right in!

I read an e-book provided by the publisher through edelweiss.

This book randomly showed up in my house one day, and seemed like a perfect early chapters read (I'm sure there's a term for this, the books that are probably one step below middlegrade?) for me, the kind of book I would've loved when I was little.

Blizz and his friends seem to help out mythical creatures (I haven't read the first book, but now I want to) and their new project is to help Vanessa (the Loch Ness Monster) find her family. (ADORABLE RIGHT?) They find a way to go back in time, because they believe that she must be a dinosaur or dinosaur descendent that didn't die off when everyone else did.

So now they're back with the dinosaurs and---as anyone who has ever seen Jurassic Park can tell you---it's not fun like you'd think. Nessie gets to find relatives and they're nice but a lot of the other dinosaurs are mean. Also, hungry.

The best part of the book, though? A shoutout to Chessie, the Chesapeake Bay version of the Loch Ness Monster!

Recommended for new readers.

This light-hearted adventure follows Blizz Richards and his fellow cryptids as they go back in time to help a friend. With the aid of a leprechaun who knows how to time travel, they travel 65 million years in time to see if they can find a companion for Nessie, who is severely depressed because she's one of a kind. Although Nessie finds many other sea monsters just like her, the world in which they live is not so friendly for her or the other cryptids. Funny illustrations and fast-paced action makes this one quite accessible for even the most reluctant of readers. Plus, its humor makes it fun to read. Perhaps going back in time wasn't the best idea, after all, as Nessie eventually decides.

This wasn't as good as the first one but I still liked it because there is still one dinosaur living and they go to the leprechaun to go back in time. They go to three different times to find another dinosaur that lives in the water like Nessie. A giant T. rex chased them. They have to find a safe water home for the dinosaurs. There are lots of other chases with all sorts of characters. There is even more time travel with a happy ending. The book is fun.

The Blizz that helped Brian comes back with another monster called the Lock Ness Monster. Nessie has called Blizz and complaining about being lonely and will move away from her lake if she is not with another monster. He travels back to the prehistoric times and finds the dinosaurs that are related to Nessie . Bessie found out how it is in the prehistoric times and then wanted to go home . She finds one of her own kind. P.S. I think that there in love

Quick read for upper elementary students. The book reminds me of Captain Underpants meets Big Foot! This book follows the cryptid crew as they help Nessie, the Lock Ness Monster, find a friend. To do this they must travel back in time over 65 million years...

Social media references & fun dinosaurs facts are interspersed throughout the book. This will be a great share for some of my more reluctant readers. Ends on a cliffhanger leaving room for a sequel!
