This book has got 100s of games and their descriptions, from Minecraft to Shovel Knight. This book has got review from famous YouTubers, like stampylonghead and whybeare. It's got roundups, like the Top 10 Biggest Game Worlds or the 50 Hardest Achievements & Trophies.
I'm sure this book would be super fun for kids to read and learn lore and cheat codes. But for adults...I thoroughly enjoyed taking a trip down memory lane in this book with Zelda, Mario, Pokémon, Warcraft and more... BUT a HUGE part that is missing from this book is Skyrim. Top ten best-selling games neglects to mention that Skyrim has sold appx. 50 million copies worldwide (elderscrolls.wikia.com). They also don't mention Skyrim in the best game soundtrack at all. Now, I know a lot of luster has been lost for Skyrim, but you still have die hard Skyrim gamers playing. Personally, I have yet to finish exploring the land. Plus the DLC you can get to go along with it... When you have classic games that we have all grown up playing but yet don't have some of the epic new classics... it's kind of sad. Should at least have a small page in there aside from three small mentions. Sad. (Also the content for WoW is a bit minor, but it is declining in subscribers. )
I'm sorry. This is BS. I was expecting this to actually have game from 2016. It doesn't even have games from 2015. The majority of the games in here are over 5 years old, it mentions youtubers? Why not any youtubers tha actually focus on video games. The Game Theorists and Markiplier come to mind. The indie game section, which is arguably the big trend in gaming culture currently, is one page. With games that were published long before the book was written. Do not call this 2016, when less than 20% of the games actually came out in 2016. Yes this had some fun information, but I'm salty because I actually wanted what was in the title.
It had some neat facts, but unfortunately for me, even the 'Did You Know' (or what ever the side bubbles were) weren't all that surprising or interesting. Some of the people highlighted were cool: cosplayers or people with high scores. Others were just people with lots of money or very generous family and friends (how else do you obtain so much stuff...). The layout was good and the book is well designed, but so far as I can tell most of the games aren't even from 2015 much less from 2016 which makes the title a bit misleading.
This book was ok. I really liked all the info in it.but the thing that got me was the SPOILERS TO MY FAVORITE GAMES EVER.like Zelda majoras mask. Or even swtor (Star Wars the old republic). It made me so mad when it told me that you are actually a sith switched with a Jedi knight before the game even started. Don't even get me started on final fantasy 7. Saying the main character dies why would you ever do that.

This informative book teaches you how to survive in the video games world. From Mario Kart to FIFA this book will teach you how to play, and what needs to be accomplished. I would recommend this book to all my friends who enjoy video games. It is a great guide to games that not only are new but that are fun.
