Texas Wishes #1-3

Texas Wishes: The Complete Series

Rate this book
Knight turns up the heat under the Texas sun with three cowboys ready to rope your heart and the feisty ladies who wrangle them. Enjoy a boot-stomping good time with these captivating couples:

What a Texas Girl Wants: The last thing Jackson Taylor wants in his life is a down-to-earth girl like Kathleen Witte, so why did he just wake up next to her on a Mexican beach with a ring on his finger? Once they’re back in Texas though, this all-business marriage might just turn into an all-consuming love.

What a Texas Girl Needs: Matias Barnes knows all about society women like Vanessa Witte. It’s part of the reason he left his wealthy family behind and took a job on a ranch. But while Mat knows she’s so not right for him, can he resist her charms long enough to really let her go?

What a Texas Girl Dreams: They are opposites in so many ways, but the more veterinarian Trickett Samuels gets to know footloose and fancy free Monica Witte, the more he wonders if he can convince this Texas girl that having roots will only help her soar higher.

Kristina Knight

Once upon a time, Kristina Knight spent her days running from car crash to fire to meetings with local police--no, she wasn't a troublemaker, she was a journalist. Her career took her all over the United States, writing about everything from a serial killer's capture to the National Finals Rodeo. Along the way she found her very own Knight in Shining Cowboy Boots and an abiding love for romance novels. Kristina writes contemporary romance with a smattering of sass, sex and (of course) drama, and she loves hearing from readers. And just like the characters from her favorite books, she's living her own happily ever after.

This series is three stories about three sisters. Each sister is very different but they all need to figure out how they fit into the family. I enjoyed each story and would have liked to learn more about the overall circumstances up front. Their dad married three women and each woman had a daughter. So the first wife had just one daughter, then the second wife had one daughter and was a step-mother to the first, and the last wife had a daughter and was step-mom to the first two daughters. The circumstances of each relationship ending should have been explained up front and it would have been easier to figure out the relationships. These three sisters had different circumstances as to how/when their family came to be and more time should have been spent on that.

Each story was kind of standalone but it would have been difficult to understand everything in the second without reading the first and everything in the third without reading the first two. I liked each sister and each of their men. There were steamy sex scenes and strong chemistry.

I'm giving this 4 instead of 5 because there were typos and because I would have like more development of the dad and grandfather. Maybe a prequel would have helped explain things. I also thought the ending of the last story was a little abrupt. The other two sister's stories were neatly wrapped up and touched upon in the subsequent books. A prologue would have been a good thing to add.

Overall, I liked the series and will look for more books by this author.

Loved the way all the Witte sisters came together and all found the love they needed. All three sisters different in their own ways but are there for each other in the end. All have their own struggles to ovrcome. Perfectly paced with characters you love.

Entertaining

I really enjoyed all three stories in this book. The females were all strong but believable in the characters the stories about, their concerns and insecurities really made the stories seem real. Thanks

I purchased this series on sale and for the price it was a fun and entertaining read. The premise was cute and intriguing, which is what caught my attention in the first place. I liked the idea of centering the story around three sisters, each with their own problems. Each story picked up where the other left off and we got to see characters from the previous books throughout. For those who enjoy your basic romance novel it will not be disappointing.

What didn’t work for me? First, I wanted more character development. Especial with Nathaniel. He makes this big gesture with each of his daughters then….nothing. He almost disappears only showing up as a background character in a few subsequent scenes. The same goes for their grandfather, who was supposed to be the father figure and a solid force in the girl’s lives but the author created such a secondary character I can’t even remember his name right now.

In the first book Vanessa was extremely unlikable and downright spoiled. In the second book we are just supposed to accept that she used to be a monster but she’s over it now and improving her life. I could accept this if the backstory and her reasons for changing were more in-depth and gradual. I have the same issue with Monica in book three. In the previous novels, Monica and Kathleen were portrayed as two sisters who had recently created a bond. Then in book three…Monica was distant and jealous. For me (especially in a box set series), the character development needs to start in book one and remain consistent throughout. That was simply not so with the Texas Wishes series.

I also had a hard time with the endings. There was so much build-up, so many obstacles to overcome. Then…the end. Once the couples decided they wanted to work things out it was HEA for everyone. I wanted a couple more paragraphs to give the story depth, not just THE END. We’re happy now. And finally…there were a few grammatical errors that forced me to re-read the sentence or paragraph again, in order to understand the intent of the author. These were not excessive by any means and do not distract from the story, they just forced an unnecessary pause for clarification. Overall, I was happy with the series and could recommend it to someone looking for a simple romance without any surprises.

Texas Wishes review

This could have been a 5+ if the author had not had detailed the sex acts so vividly. As you read the story it appears that each relationship was formed around loose sex. We all know that relationships must be nurtured and a good sex life is important. However, it should not be so much about the sex. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone who doesn't want to get every
Detail about the act. It actually becomes nauseating.

I finished the first story and started on the second story. Texas Wishes was a very good read, don't usually read romance books but this one kept me wanting to know how it ended! The first book was about the sister Kathleen. The one I am reading now is the sister Vanessa! Finished with Vanessa's book and also sister Monica the third book. All three about spoiled sisters with one Father and different Mother's. Texas Wishes by Kristina Knight

Great book

I loved it. Just enough romance and a bit of comedy. I love a book that has a bit of comedy to it. Even though you knew what the outcome of the book was going to be it was fun to read how they would get there. I would read more books like this one. Very good. Thanks for writing a good book so the rest of us with no talent can be swept away in a dream world for a while.

Great read

This was test another winner in the series. Could not stop reading it until I finished it. Was an easy read all the way through. The characters were fun and witty always having a good time falling and love and denying it every step of the way. I love the fact that all the characters stay throughout the series and you get to know them more with each book. Nice work.

Good read

I liked all three of these books. I love modern ranching stories. Really anything with modern day real cowboys. The three sisters are so different, yet so much alike in their attitudes toward men and relationships. Good sex scenes. Highly recommend.

3.5 - really not impressed, and a little frustrated that it took me this long to read it. :( pretty sure I will not be rereading. it had some really cute moments and emotional ones too, but the lack of storyline / depth was a little off putting.
