This is the best Mpreg EVER! How I wish I could translate this for everyone. Too bad my Chinese level is not good enough for such an endeavour even for an attempt at a summarised version of the story.
[3.5/5] I've been wanting to read this one for a long time because of the tags but there are mixed reactions in the forums, and I only got time right now. Obviously, this book isn't perfect and there are a lot of plot holes. But also, despite the inconsistencies in the translation that I've read, I like it so much! The tags didn't disappoint me in the slightest. I read 105+3 chapters, and I thank the author and translator for sharing this story. I keep squealing and fawning all over the book as I was reading this one!
This story isn't for everyone, but I can now say that some people are exaggerating in the forums because yes, Beitang Ao is a scum gong but I've read much distasteful gongs more than him. And I beg to disagree with the people disliking Yan Feili. He is not weak! He is a very strong person! Reading this book made me realize I really like dogblood stories, lmao. This book didn't need me to overanalyze everything and that really helped me right now because I just want to ease the stress of my upcoming exams. I believe it's fun to read these kinds of books every now and then. A guilty pleasure indeed!
Now, I said I really like the book. But of course, I cannot invalidate the fact that this one really has big issues in the writings especially the obvious loose ends. There's not enough backgrounds and a lot of useless characters getting mentioned and then getting neglected the next chapter. I'm also a little unsatisfied with what happened to Ling Qing and General Hua from the earlier chapters, and I have some questions about Yanyan and the second prince who went missing. But it's fine. I'm not sure maybe it's because I've only read until 108. I should still have 25 more extras (105 chapters for the main story + 28 extras) read and I guess I can get the answers to my questions from there.
Anyway, I want to say that I really liked the last chapter (105) because it's just basically Beitang Ao pathetically reminiscing and rambling his love foolishness to the vegetative Yan Feili, haha! And yes I am biased with my rating! Who cares, it made me laugh like a child for a moment.
An incredibly heartfelt story, sad and slightly angsty at times, but nonetheless an incredible love story between two men who never imagined that destiny would bind them together in so many ways. Yan Feili is such a warm and caring person and it's great to see how his and Beitang Ao's relationship flourishes despite all the ups and downs. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a slightly angsty yet, intriguing and lovely read.
Ngl, their modern story (praying for fate) is much much much bettter! This one feels stupid, nothing was explained clearly. So abrupt, inconsistent and bad
