I am usually not an anthology person, but three big things drew me to this particular anthology. #1- 4 of the 6 authors I’ve read and enjoyed and the other 2 I’ve heard great things about. #2- as a nurse, I am a sucker for medical type romances. #3- all proceeds go to charity, including Pancreatic Cancer Action Network which is close to my heart. So even though they aren’t my thing, it was a no brainer I would read this book. And I’m so glad I did. I really enjoyed all these stories. There wasn’t bad one in the bunch.

Off Duty- Sawyer Bennett
Tim and Holly’s story was a beautiful second chance at a first love story. Tim is a firefighter with an adorable son. Holly is a night shift doctor. They see each other again for the first time in about 10 years. Sawyer did a great job fitting in a lot of there story in such little time. It was a sweet story of love, forgiveness and second chances.

Rebound- Chelle Bliss
Fiona and Sam meet in a bar in New Orleans. Sam is an FBI agent on vacation trying to get over his one lost love. Fiona is a nurse in New Orleans getting over her own heartbreak. I liked their story a lot. Especially the fortune telling.

Wanting to Forget- Toni Aleo
Oh my god JORDIE. What am I gonna do with my boy Jordie? Jordie is the ultimate man slut and he gets more action in this novella then most men get in a full book. Jordie is an unforgettable secondary character in Toni’s Assassin’s series. This was a prequel novella of sorts and I am DYING for his book. I can’t wait to see how his girl will ever tame him.

Closet Confession- Kindle Alexander

I am a sucker for a good M/M romance and Kindle Alexander is one of the best M/M authors in my opinion. I adored both Justin and Derek. I want her to give us more… I want a full story on these two so bad. Derek is a doctor, Justin is a nurse who is new to the hospital after recently leaving the military. Closet Confession was sexy, heartwarming and too sweet. Loved it.

Healing Touch- Brenda Rothert

Brenda Rather is one of those authors that is new to me. After reading this story, I’m dying to get more of her stuff. Carson and Joss were great. I loved their story. The 20 questions was great. Another one I want more of…

Swimming in Shadows- Eden Butler
This was also my first Eden Butler read. It had more of a romantic suspense to it then any of the others. Neil Ryan was intriguing and the story made me interested to see where she is going to go with the first book in this new Shadow Series.

This anthology was wonderful. Not too short or too long, all the stories were solid and the proceeds go to a great cause. It's one I would highly recommend.

Kindle: Hey, J....you want to read Closet Confessions? It's just a novella. The rest of the stories are MF. Proceeds benefit charity.

J: Kindle....really?

...do you even have to ask?

What better way to get people to try MM then to sneak it in an MF anthology???

And this was the perfect read for those MM newbies.

And an added bonus: This isn't a teaser. There is no cliffhanger. We're not left hanging for the rest of the story. Nope!

There's nothing more annoying than that!

It does set up Kindle's next book....sort of.

Secret

...which is a standalone. And I am DYING for it!

I don't want to say too much about this story because, that Kindle....she's a sneaky little devil.

But this was a fun, sexy little read...that I definitely recommend for all Kindle and MM fans!

And the best part...the proceeds benefit charity! Buy away people...one for you and one for all!

Off Duty- Sawyer Bennett

Off Duty by Sawyer Bennett was a smoking hot and sweet read to kick off the Night Shift Anthology. This book just put a BIG FAT SMILE on my face throughout the whole time I was reading this book. This story is about second chances, forgiveness, and rekindling an old love. I love the simple message of this story. Love has no bounds. Love sees no color. And Love is LOVE. So if you are looking for a book with hot sexy firefighter and a sexy bombshell doctor, then go read Off Duty because their love is fiery hot. #LoveIsLove

Rebound-Chelle Bliss

Rebound by Chelle Bliss was my first read from this author and HOLY SH*T this author has me hooked. What a prologue!!! That was one of HOT and panty-melting introduction to Sam and Fiona!! Talk about dirty things happening in the nights of NOLA. Rebound was one sexy read that explores the topic of fate. Do you believe in fate? Well, for Sam he always thought this other woman was the loved of his life but fate or destiny had another woman in mind. Unbeknownst to him, this sexy nurse who sat by him in the bar was the one to alter and make Sam see that his new life and love was just beginning. Rebound was one dirty, sexy, fun, and hot read. I will definitely be checking out more works from this author.

Wanting To Forget- Toni Aleo

Well the title of this book, pretty much sums up the book. Hot bearded professional hockey player literally wanted to forget the only woman who got under his skin, heart, mind, and body. His best friend's baby sister, Kacey. Due to a leg injury, Jordie Thomas can do one of two things: Sit at home and be miserable or go to New Orleans and have random hot sex in order to forget about Kacey. And of course, sex and banging hot women was the only option for this hot blooded man. Well, as it turns out, hooking up with random multiple women and sex with one hot doctor didn't help eradicate the feelings he had for Kacey. So the only option for Jordie was to cut ties with Kacey for good...

#1WantingTOForget

This book ends not in the HEA that I would have hoped but thankfully Ms. Aleo will have the continuation of Kacey and Jordie in her next book, Overtime, coming out May 25, 2015. Let's hope Jordie can redeem himself after all the dirty deeds that he did in New Orleans.

Closet Confession-Kindle Alexander

Ummm... WOW!!!! Nothing like an M/M romance to heat up those e-reader. This short story was seductively hot. This was my first time reading from this author and it won't be the last. Hot Doctor and Hot Nurse dirtying it up in the hospital closet. Let's just say that Kindle Alexander did a fabulous job in the storytelling and writing. What I love about this novella is once again the message of #LoveIsLove.

Healing Touch- Brenda Rothert

#healingTouch1

I love Brenda Rothert and her books and I was so happy to be able to beta read this beautiful, funny, and touching story. Healing Touch was sexy, steamy, and oh so magical.. You got to love a magic 8 ball when deciding and taking a chance on love. This book had chemistry that was sizzling and lots of playful flirty banter. Joss and Carson were two strangers that had an instant connection and that felt real and not rushed. This novella was just perfect. The writing and story line was well done and showcases a beautiful tale of a budding new romance. I loved it!! So if you are looking for a story, that will have you smiling and wishing for more of Brenda Rothert's book then I highly suggest you read this novella. <3

Swimming in Shadows- Eden Butler

Swimming In Shadows by Eden Butler is a prequel to a series that will introduce Neil Ryan, a retired NAVY SEAL and a former detective. He returns to New Orleans looks for the answers he seeks. This book chronicles Neil in his guilt, failures, and his regrets. Back in New Orleans, he is reunited with the one woman who has always never escaped his memories, Evangeline Lavigne. This prequel was a great introduction to Neil and will have you wanting to know what's in store for him and Evangeline.

Overall, I really enjoyed the Night Shift Anthology. I was able to be introduced to new authors and read stories from authors I love. There were stories that were smoking hot, sexy, sweet, touching, fun, and suspenseful. Also, what great about this anthology is that this will all proceeds of this book will be donated to:Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Suicide Prevention – Keith Milano Memorial Fund and the Nashville Predators Foundation. #LoveIsLove

Denise's message: http://bit.ly/NSLiveGwy

Night Shift: Dirty Things Happen in the Dark in an anthology consisting of all NEW stories from 6 authors. Let me say that again because it still puts a lump in my throat. 6 amazing authors have taken the time to write NEW stories to benefit charity. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of this limited edition anthology will go to charity.

I was humbled when I was informed of this project and told that the Keith Milano Memorial Fund at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), a memorial fund set up to honor my brother and only sibling who died by suicide in 2004, would be one of the three charities to benefit from this.

When Keith passed away, I made a promise that he would not go quietly. It is with the help of all of you that 10 years later I am able to keep this promise. Keith was bipolar. I know we often whisper about mental illness but I will not whisper that my brother was sick. He had a chemical imbalance of the brain. And despite seeking treatment, he could not find anything to relieve his pain; yes I said pain. Just like Robin Williams, Keith hid his pain behind a brilliant smile, a smile many often comment on when they see his photo.

For as long as there is stigma around mental illness, as long as after a death by suicide someone whispers what are you going to tell people, for as long as people are ashamed to speak of these diseases and for as long as those suffering feel like ending it all is the only way to silence the pain - I will keep working in Keith’s memory to reduce the stigma about mental illness and to raise funds to develop better treatment.

Thank you, just does not seem like enough so please know that from the depths of my soul and to the fullness in my heart, every one-click of this book helps others and continues to reduce the stigma. I hope that as you read this or when you read our posts during the 3rd Annual Book Fundraiser in May, an event that also benefits the Keith Milano Memorial Fund at AFSP, that you will take the time to share a story, a story of struggle, a story of survival or maybe just maybe a story of hope.

I have struggled with the best way to review this book, how to express my gratitude and how to speak of these amazing stories.

For review purposes and since this post is already long since I babbled, I am going to review Closet Confessions by Kindle Alexander and Off Duty by Sawyer Bennett. The introduction to these stores in the book ties them together with the hashtag #loveislove.

Closet Confessions opens with a dedication that brought tears to my eyes; you see this book is dedicated to Keith. Yes Ms. Alexander dedicated this book to my deceased brother, a man she never meet. Now that is just WOW and truly optimizes my promise that Keith would not go quietly. Ms. Alexander there are no words, you touch my soul.

Ok the book is Closet Confessions...I loved this story! Ms. Alexander’s plot twist took me from to wanting to grab Dr. Derek Babineaux and throttle him to wanting to hug him. And nurse Justin Delacroix, this poor man who can’t seem to get out of his own way. I should pause and say yes this story is about two men. Ms. Alexander’s story is a gay romance, tying into the #loveislove theme and I hope readers will give this wonderful heartfelt story a try!

Off Duty by Sawyer Bennett is a tie-in to her Off Series, a series I love. Single Dad and New York FireFighter Tim Davis was Flynn’s partner in Off Chance. You do not need to read that book or any of the Off Series to love this story!

In this story, Tim is on vacation with his son in New Orleans when he comes to face to face with his past, Holly Reynolds. The way Ms. Bennett brings these two face to face is epic, the reader can feel the sparks fly. Tim is African American and Holly is a white doctor from a wealthy family in New York so the #loveislove theme here is interracial.

Ms. Bennett masterfully painted this second chance romance in a fashion that has the reader knowing these two were meant to be together. The thing that separated them when they were young, well the resolution to this truly took this story full circle. I also want to mention I loved Tim’s son, he felt so real and the use of him in the story was wonderful. Thank you, Ms. Bennett as you know I so wanted Tim to have happy when I read about him years ago and your nailed it!

I truly hope readers will purchase the anthology and give all the authors a try.

As you read and love these stories, as you too are touched by the effort of these wonderful authors that you will use the hashtags #isupportmentalhealthawareness and #loveislove.

I bought this pretty much just for the Kindle Alexander story since it's been way too long since she's had a new book out. I can only re-read Texas Pride so many times before I need something new dammit! Anyway...this little short story was enough to get me by until her next full-length book comes out. It was a sweet little story about a couple who's going through some growing pains, learning how to be together out from under the Don't Ask Don't Tell restrictions of the military. It was sweet and I definitely wanted to know more. Hopefully we won't have to wait too long for the next book.

Night Shift: Dirty Things Happen in the Dark is an Anthology of 6 new, short stories. Novellas! HOT novellas.

The definition of a novella is simple- A short novel or long short story.

My definition of a novella- An awesome story crunched for time, just giving you what you really want. Getting right down to the nitty gritty without all the page fillers of a regular sized novel!
They’re quickies!

To be honest, I purchased this Anthology for 2 reasons. The first and foremost being Kindle Alexander's Closet Confessions and second, it's for charity!

Like the novellas, my reviews of each will be short and sweet!

Closet Confessions by Kindle Alexander
I am a huge M/M fan and couldn't wait to get my hands on this! I loved it!! It was sweet, intriguing, turned passionate and hot!! Seven minutes in Heaven's got nothing on this closet! And I definitely wasn't expecting the plot twist!

Rebound by Chelle Bliss
First I must say that before this, I had not read anything by Chelle Bliss. Well, holy hell... I will definitely start now!! Love Love Loved it!
Talk about HOT!! Dirty, Sexy, Delicious and Damn!! I absolutely loved the writing, especially the witty and funny one liners. There was crazy chemistry and it was just a fun and oh so hot read!!

Off duty by Sawyer Bennett
A second chances story. First love torn apart by bigotry and fear. I enjoyed this sweet story about love and family. The characters although separated for years, seemed to never have lost the love they once had for each other. Sweet and definitely hot, with a profound message. #loveislove

Healing Touch by Brenda Rothert
This was my first read by this author.
This one had me feeling like an episode of Gray's Anatomy! Sex between the doctors and nurses, gossip, friendship, lust!
Sweet and shy Joss, gets to chatting it up with a fellow hospital worker who he himself seems shy and unassuming.. but is he? They both have pasts they're trying to get over and with the help of a little Magic 8 ball action, which was cute and funny.. things get a little steamy!!

Swimming in Shadows by Eden Butler
This was my first read by this author.
Although this one had some steamy sexiness to it, the overall feeling I got from this story was mystery and loss. What's really going on and what's going to happen? I'm intrigued. I’m definitely interested in reading more from this author and more about Neil's story.

Wanting to Forget by Toni Aleo
Jordie. Hmm.. what can I say about Jordie? I’m actually a huge Toni Aleo fan, but I don’t think Jordie is the character for me.
His lifestyle and actions were just a tad raunchy and dare I say trashy. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.. everyone loves a good threesome now and then.. but this particular novella turned me off. Smut just for smut's sake? BUT, it will absolutely not deter me from reading more from Toni Aleo in the future! (just no more Jordie)

Whether you read some, all six or just one, you won’t be disappointed. And, ALL proceeds go to charity! How can you beat that?

Off Duty by Sawyer Bennett

I loved this second chance romance novella. Sawyer does a great job drawing the reader into Tim and Holly's world. This is a couple I could have spent a bit more time with.

At a young age they can see love without seeing color. The coupl proves that love is colorblind.

Despite all the heartache from their youth, they grew up still pining for each other. You can feel their sparks fly even after all their years apart.

Rebound by Chelle Bliss

This is a good addition to th Men of Inked Series. Sam is trying to drown his sorrows and forget about Izzy when he meets Fiona.

I liked the easier banter that the two had. They seemed to fit. Fiona seemed to be the carefree spirit that Sam needed to get out of his funk. The two also knew how to heat up the sheets.

Wanting to forget by Toni Aleo

I wasn't a fan of this story. It left me feeling a bit dirty and not in a good way.

Jordie, our leading man, was sleeping with his best friends sister. He breaks up with her because of his hockey injury and wants better for her. While trying to get over the hurt, caused by himself, he goes to a house party and has a crazy night filled with sex. During the party he re-injures his leg and has to go to the hospital. While there he's hitting on the doctor and making plans to take her home. This is all while texting to girl he kicked to the curb.

The story ends but you can read more about this couple in a future book.

Closet confession by Kindle Alexander

I liked the story between Derek and Justin. After his time spent in the service, Justin has to get back to the "real world" and lucky for him Dr. Babineaux, Derek, is there to help.

The tryst they shared in the dark was hot but it made Derek want more. Derek is willing to go the distance for his partner but Justin is still not he don't ask don't tell mindset. Both characters are headstrong but are willing to give into each other's needs due to the love they share.

Healing Touch by Brenda Rother

This was another couple that I could have read more of. Joss needs help and Carson is the right man for the job. Carson is a problem solver and he wants to solve all of Joss's problems.

The author does a great job connecting the two characters in a short amount of time.

I liked the chemistry between the characters. It was simmering waiting for someone to make a move. The two finally gave in and I loved watching the sparks fly.

Swimming into the Shadows by Eden Butler

*****SPOILER***** at end of review.
I liked the beginning of the book. It's a suspense novella that brought the heat earlier on. Neil Ryan is looking for answered on what happened to him mom years before.

What I didn't like is that in this novella we barely scratch the service. The book left me with more questions then answers.
I was a bit disappointed. I would have preferred for Ryan to find the resolution he is search for.

*****SPOILER*****
Be warned that this novella is a cliffhanger.

Anyone who knows me at all knows how much I love anthologies. So, when I found out about this particular collaboration, there was no way I wasn't going to be a part of it. Kindle Alexander, Toni Aleo, Sawyer Bennett, Brenda Rothert(Goodreads Author), Chelle Bliss (Goodreads Author), and Eden Butler (Goodreads Author) are all authors I love. I mean out of the six I belong on half of their street teams. That is how much I adore these women.

Each story takes place in New Orleans and has a connection with a Hospital. But my favorite part of this particular anthology is that it is cross-genre. M/F, M/M and interracial. I have heard people are not happy about reading M/M or whatever in this book, but to them I say that this anthology reflects life! If you go to the movies and look at the people around you, you would be surprised at who you see. Love is Love people. If you are upset about M/M, either skip that story or just get over it. Ditto for whatever story you have a hang up on.

I loved certain stories more than some of the others, but in general this was a really great anthology and I highly recommend you to read it. 5 Hearts!

This is a fantastic group of novellas by some of the best authors out there today.

All take place in a place where anything can happen and generally does...New Orleans! Plus, all of the stories are connected in some way to a hospital. These books also deal with real issues and one of the major things I took from this anthology is #LoveIsLove. It doesn't matter your race, your gender, your socioeconomic status or anything else, you're going to love who you love and everyone should be allowed to do just that without judgment.

Kudos to these wonderful ladies who put together a great group of stories!

New Orleans. Dirty Deeds. Hot Nights. <<-- Argh, could there BE a better combination? Nope, I don't think so! These stories all take place in and around Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, tethered by the late nights, hospital setting, and the wicked acts the staff get up to one hot summer....

The anthology kicks off with Off Duty by Sawyer Bennett. It was the story I was most anticipating, and it didn't disappoint. HOT. That's the first word that comes to mind when I think of Sawyer Bennett's work, and it's certainly fitting for Off Duty. Tim and Holly were scorching, and I loved how they came together, communicated and worked to make it work. Being a novella meant that this second-chance romance was able to stick to the highlights...chemistry that'll melt your heart and your e-reader, a little bit of what-if to keep it interesting, and a whole lotta swooning. It's a great start to the anthology, and got me ready for...

Rebound by Chelle Bliss, my first Chelle Bliss experience! And hell, what an opener -- to her work and to Rebound itself. It was hot, dirty and a lot of fun. Sam and Fiona were perfect together -- their quick connection was believable, which is important when considering the accelerated nature of a novella. It may have reached the end a little faster than I would have liked, but otherwise Ms. Bliss gave me a well-paced, well-formed, very sexy and very likable story. And a sudden desire to visit a fortune teller, or perhaps a hot hockey player like...

Jordie Thomas from Wanting to Forget by Toni Aleo. I wanted to like this book, I truly did. But I found myself frustrated and angry at Jordie and his behavior. Not having read any of the other books in this series, I felt perhaps I was missing a key character trait that made him desirable and redeemable, aside from his (admittedly sexy) beard and stellar bedroom skills. Wanting to Forget was exceptionally well-written and had a host of thigh-clenching, panty-soaking moments, but it was difficult for me to lose myself in this story when I couldn’t see past Jordie's a--holish behavior. Perhaps what I need instead is some hot M/M action from one of my favorite authors...

Kindle Alexander. What can I say about Closet Confession? I loved this hot little read! Justin and Derek (Dr. Baby, BTW, is an awesome nickname) were SCORCHING hot together. There were fun, surprising moments, and it felt like a complete, well-rounded story, despite the length. Their brief-but-OMG-I-need-a-cold-shower coupling was spot-on; I wouldn't change a thing about it but I also wouldn't say no to MORE from this sexy couple. Until then, though, maybe I can make do with a sexy Mechanical Services man and a lonely doctor, like...

Joss Drake and Carson Stephens in Healing Touch by Brenda Rothert. Oh my! This new-to-me author knocked my socks -- and maybe even my panties -- off with this sizzling novella, which boasts through-the-roof chemistry and a ton of flirty, playful banter. I think I smiled through 85% of this story. The other 15%, I was probably panting. The connection between Joss and Carson was intense and perfect -- I adored this couple! I'd have happily read about them for hours, and yet, their story felt complete. Which is good, because it means I can move on to...

Swimming in Shadows by Eden Butler. Let's all just take a moment to drool over this HOT cover...Whew, damn! Okay, we done? Good, moving on! This is clearly a set-up for a longer series to come, and it's a very good one. That doesn't mean Swimming in Shadows ends on a cliffhanger though...more of a what's next? It's a good foundation upon which to build a series, and I can only hope that the girl from his past continues to help him see the path he needs to follow. I'm most definitely intrigued and...

A little sorry to reach the end of this anthology. It hit some MAJOR high notes, and was altogether an interesting, engaging, fun, occasionally funny, occasionally frustrating, often sexy and dirty tour of New Orleans, and Tulane Medical Centre. The stories flowed well and although there is no true interconnectivity between the stories beyond the appearance of the hospital in each, it was a collection that complemented each other and showed some superior writing skills.

If for no other reason that the excellent causes that Night Shift supports, I would recommend one-clicking. The overall awesomeness of these novellas is merely a bonus in helping others. After all, #LoveIsLove, and it doesn't matter who you love, or why, the important thing is being there for others when they need it -- and doing what you can to help. ~ Beth, 5 overall stars

Fabulous group of novellas all in support of a great cause! I went into this anthology most excited about Sawyer Bennett's Off Duty but ended up reading all 6 stories and falling in love with a few new authors too!

Off Duty: Tim Davis is Flynn Caldwell's best friend and fellow firefighter who we met in Off Chance. He is in New Orleans visiting his sister with his son and never expects to run into the first love who broke his heart. This was a wonderful second chance love story and classic Sawyer Bennett storytelling.

Closet Confession: Kindle Alexander contributed another heartwarming and sexy story to this collection featuring Derek "Dr. Baby" and Justin, a new nurse at the hospital who recently completed his military service and is trying to adjust to civilian life. The author worked in a great little curve ball to their story- in short, I loved it!

Rebound: Although I have almost all of Chelle Bliss's books on my Kindle, I haven't been able to work any of them into my reading schedule despite high recommendations from my reading buddies. Sam's story in this collection was easy for me to read as a standalone and definitely made me resolve to find the time to finally read the Men of Ink series. Rebound was an excellent read with plenty of heat- and that cover is just lockable, dayum!

Healing Touch: Like Chelle Bliss, I have Brenda Rothert's books sitting on my Kindle begging to be read so this story was my first introduction to her work and it left me wanting more! Joss has recently suffered the humiliation of being cheated on by her husband who is another doctor at the hospital- and the other woman is a nurse on staff there. Her self esteem has taken a hit and she just wants to throw herself into work- and maybe crawl into a hole until people stop whispering about her- but the building has other ideas about her work. Sexy Carson shows up to help her and sparks are flying! He is a man of few words but he has noticed Joss from his first day on the job- and he is determined to help her find her mojo again, as long as there are no strings attached. I would love it if the author wrote a full length story about them!

Swimming in Shadows: this story had a bit of a different feel to it and is a prequel to a full length book coming soon by Eden Butler. Neil Ryan is searching for answers about his mother's death. and that search brings him to New Orleans. But every lead seems to bring another question and danger. He reconnects with an old flame briefly but there is more story to be told here and I am definitely curious to see what happens next.

Waiting to Forget: This was my least favorite story in the group. Jordie is an ass and a dog and I didn't see much likable about him, but perhaps I am missing some back story as I have not read the author's recent books in her hockey series. Fans of the Assassins series may find more to like here, and Ms. Also has indicated this will be the only place to get this novella.

All in all, this collection is well worth the price and has some wonderful reads in it!!

☆ Overall Rating - 4.25 Stars! ☆

Awesome Anthology!
Here's my thoughts on each novella:

*Off Duty by Sawyer Bennett
After being separated as young adults due to bigoted beliefs, Tim and Holly come face to face again in a New Orleans emergency room. The sparks are still there and these two characters waste no time in making up for all the years apart. Tim’s sexy and commanding approach in the bedroom will have you blushing! This author’s story reminds us that true love knows no color and that true love can stand the test of time.

*Rebound by Chelle Bliss
Sam heads to New Orleans to try to get over the only woman he has ever loved. While in a bar drowning his sorrows, a beautiful woman occupies the stool next to him and stirs feelings and urges that he never expected. This author starts us right off with the hot and heavy, and then gives us the sweetness of these two characters getting to know one another. Have extra panties ready for this one!!

*Wanting To Forget by Toni Aleo
Jordie knows that he needs to let go of the woman he has become too attached to. Meeting up and partying with a buddy in New Orleans to leave her behind may start out as fun, but it doesn’t end quite as planned. This novella is packed with some rough and sexy scenes!

*Closet Confession by Kindle Alexander
The new nurse at the hospital has Dr. Babineaux all hot and bothered. He decides to initiate a hot and sexy encounter in a closet down an unused wing of the hospital. That encounter leads to life altering decisions for both of them. This story is a hot m/m quickie that will get your heart pumping!

*Healing Touch by Brenda Rothert
Jocelyn (Joss) has been wronged by her ex-husband. Carson has remained pretty guarded since being dumped while serving in the military. While working a night shift at the hospital, these two characters are quickly pulled out of their slump when the night shift ends with a morning of hot passion. The author builds sexual tension that has you rooting for them to let loose. This short is a perfect mix of sweet and sexy!

*Swimming in Shadows by Eden Butler
Neil Ryan is exercising his detective expertise in search of a jewelry box and a woman that is presumably dead. He finds himself in a sticky situation that lands him in the hospital and face to face with the woman he never quite forgot. This one is made for lovers of action and mystery!

ARC received for an honest review

**Fans herself**... it is hot in here?

If it isn't it will be by the time you finish reading Night Shift.

6 amazing authors have given us 6 steamy short stories, and all for 3 fantastic charities.

As I was reading I was thinking to myself "man, I needed to get sick while I was in New Orleans a couple of months ago, this medical centre is a hotbed of hotties"

The nights get hot in Tulane Medical centre as our doctors and nurses find there's more to life than long hours at the hospital!

I adored each and every story in this anthology. There was laughter, there was sadness, and Oh My Hot! There was some steam!

There were a couple of the stories that I would really like to see as a full length novel, as I was completely drawn into the stories.

This anthology had a couple of my favourite things amongst the novellas. One about a hockey player, and one was a m/m romance.

If you have not read any m/m (this is my current obsession, cannot get enough m/m books!!) then Kindle Alexander's Closet Confessions is a great way to start. And what a fantastic way to get new readers to the genre, by slipping it into this anthology.

The great thing about this anthology and the authors involved is that all proceeds are being donated to some fantastic charities.

So, what are you waiting for - go get down and dirty with the New Orleans Night Shift

Great little story about second chance love. I've read a few of this authors stories and I loved this one too.

Rebound - Chelle Bliss
Every book I've read by this author I've loved and this is no different. Chelle certainly knows how to capture my attention.

Closet Confession- Kindle Alexander
Love Kindles style of writing. This is another hot steamy story with a great twist.

Another great story from this author. Although short Brenda told a fab story.

Healing Touch by Brenda Rothert
This is Joss and Carson’s story. Joss who’s been through a humiliating break up from her cheating husband meets hotter than hot Carson who works at the same hospital. Their attraction for each other and the chemistry between them in sizzling. This story will make you smile and blush at the same time. I loved it. Brenda is one of my favourite authors and she did not disappoint with this one. Thank you

Since I only read M/M I purchased this mainly to support the cause and for Kindle Alexander's Closet Confession. What a great short read, she has become the master of WTH? And of course she delivers once again. Justin and Dr Baby were perfect. Can't wait to read more about Mr. Wilder in 'Secret'.

In this anthology, centered around the wild, hot and passionate nights in New Orleans Tulane Medical Center, there are 6 novella by 6 of my personal favorite authors. Even better than that is that all proceeds raised from the sale of this anthology will be donated to the Keith Milano Memorial Fund, PanCan.org, and the Nashville Predators Foundation.

The first story in this anthology is Off Duty by Sawyer Bennett. I am an avid fan of everything she puts out and once again she did not disappoint. This novella follows Tim, a firefight from New York, who is on vacation at his sister's house in New Orleans. He runs into his high school sweetheart and the flames ignite. They were torn apart because of her bigoted father, and have finally found one another again. I loved this story, it was hot, fast paced and filled with smoking hot firefighters and intelligent and strong woman. As usual, Sawyer brings on the hotness too - a really great read.

Rebound by Chelle Bliss follows the story of Sam and Fiona. The two have a chance encounter at a bar in New Orleans while he is trying to drown his sorrows and forget a woman. They spend the night walking through Bourbon Street and Jackson Square. The attraction is undeniable and although that night they don't end up in bed together, they do commit to seeing each other again. Trust me, you will be happy they did. As per usual, Chelle Bliss' stories are full of smoking hot passion, romance and of course scenes that leave you laughing out loud.

In Wanting To Forget by Toni Aleo, we follow Jordie Thomas. He is the hot star of an ice hockey team who has damaged his knee and is recovering at home. After spending a whole lot of time with his best friends sister, he decides it is now time to cool things down and ends things with her. Of course there is no better way to get over someone, than to get under someone else, and that is exactly what Jordie sets about doing - in the most asshole-ish (yes, I just made a verb out of asshole) that you can possibly imagine. I have to say that this was my favorite novella of the anthology, and I am looking forward to reading Overtime which is going to be Jordie's full length novel.

The next novella is Closet Confessions by Kindle Alexander.. Kindle writes man to man romance/erotica like no one else, and once again, this is no exception. Closet Confessions follows Dr. Derek Babineaux, ER doctor extraordinaire. He is the epitome of gorgeous and successful, and all he wants most in the world is to be able to share his life with someone - without feeling the need to hide. Justin Delacroix is smitten with Derek, but because he is from a military background is worried about what everyone thinks. The two have smoldering hot passion and clearly do love each other, but will it be enough?

The fifth novella in this anthology is Healing Touch by Brenda Rothert. This follows Joss - an OB/GYN doctor who has been humiliated by her ex husband. He works in the same hospital as her, and had been carrying on an affair with one of the nursing staff. Joss is a strong woman though, and has put her head down and moved forward, however, only in her professional life. Her personal life has been put completely on hold as she tries to recover from the pain inflicted on her. Enter Carson, the mechanical whizz kid, who helps her ensure that there is air conditioning in the room she is using for her interviews. As the night moves on, the two find themselves incredibly attracted to one another - will Carson have the touch that helps Joss move on? Steamy, passionate and charming! I loved this one.

Finally, we have Swimming in Shadows by Eden Butler. This novella was the biggest surprise for me. I cannot believe how much Eden Butler fits in 1 novella. It was fast paced, action packed and had me turning the pages with glee. It follows Neil Ryan, a retired NAVY Seal and a recently let go Police Detective. He returns to New Orleans looking for answers to his questions. His mother is dead, and he feels like he has failed her. He has returned to the Big Easy looking for the answers to his questions. Along the way, he is usurped by a beautiful red head and another retired NAVY Seal. It is after a run in with and he ends up in the ER, that he is truly faced with his past in the form of Dr. Evangeline Lavigne. The one woman that he cannot forget no matter how much he tries. This book is a prequel to Neil Ryan's novel, Shadows and Lies, which will be released in Spring of 2015.

Overall, this anthology is one I really enjoyed. It’s the first anthology I’ve ever read front to back. I recommend it highly and think that if you enjoy smoking hot romance and something a little different - then this is definitely for you!

*This book was provided to me by the author/publisher in exchange for an honest review*

I was really stoked to get to read this book. All of the stories are centered around Tulane Medical Center, in New Orleans. I work about a half a mile from this hospital, so it all takes place in my backyard.

Off Duty by Sawyer Bennett

4 stars

Tim is a FDNY Firefighter on vacation with his son, visiting his sister in New Orleans. When his son gets hurt, Tim takes him to the hospital. After a frustrating wait in the emergency room when the doctor finally walks in to see his son, Tim is shocked to find Holly his high school sweetheart walk through the door.

Holly an emergency room doctor is just as shocked to see Tim. Will these two get a second chance at first love?

This was a well written and enjoyable story. It dealt with a touchy subject matter, interracial relationships. I thought the topic was handled well. The story flowed well and the characters had a good chemistry. I loved the interaction between not only the two main characters, but Tim's son as well.

Rebound by Chelle Bliss

4.5 Stars

After having his heart broken when the only girl he has ever wanted chooses another guy, FBI Agent, Sam heads to New Orleans for the weekend. He meets a nurse, Fiona, at The Funky Pirate, a bar on Bourbon Street while trying to drown his sorrows in gin.

Fiona, broken hearted after a recent divorce sits next to Sam at the Funky Pirate. They share their heartbreaks, then Fiona takes Sam on a tour of the Quarter. Will one weekend be enough?

This was a really good story. It flowed well and I enjoyed the authors tour of Jackson Square. The characters were both very likable, and the author left me wanting more, in a good way.

Wanting to Forget A Jordie Thomas Tale by Toni Aleo

2.5 Stars

I am not sure how to rate this book. Jordie, is a professional hockey player who is recovering from a leg injury. He is in love with Kasey, his BFF's sister, but for some reason feels he can't be with her.

As the story begins, he has just told her he can't be involved in a long term relationship. After Kasey leaves, he decides to drink himself numb. He gets a text from his buddy in New Orleans and takes him up on his offer to visit for the weekend. If he can't drink himself numb, he will just try to screw his feelings away.

Umm... Can I just say that I really didn't like Jodie. He is a PIG. His friend is an even bigger pig, and as a New Orleanian I was actually kind of insulted by their opinion of the women in New Orleans. I REALLY hope this isn't the author’s true opinion!!

Listening to Jordie's thoughts I would start to feel bad for him, then he would say something about other women that weren't Kasey and any sympathy I had for him flew out the window. He was just a really sexist pig, and I think this author will have to perform a miracle to make him a likable character in his book.

Closet Confessions by Kindle Alexander

5 Stars

I loved Kindle's story. Of course I haven't read anything by Kindle that I haven't loved. I am not sure she is capable of writing a bad story!

Kindle took me by surprise and I never expected this story to go in the direction it did, but I absolutely loved it.

Derek and Justin had an amazing chemistry, the sex was hot and Kindle left me wanting more! My only complaint is not really a complaint, I just wish I could have gotten a full length novel, but I loved what I got!

Healing Touch by Brenda Rothert

5 Stars

Carson works in the Mechanical Services at Tulane Medical Center.

Joss is an OBGYN at TMC. they meet when Joss pages Carson's dept. to fix the AC in her room for her research project.

This was a really good story. Both the MC's where very likable. They had a good chemistry. The story was well written and flowed well. This was a sweet and enjoyable read.

Swimming in Shadows by Eden Butler

4 Stars

Neil Ryan heads to New Orleans to try to find clues to an old murder. He runs into trouble, his best friend, and an old flame while visiting New Orleans. Ryan was an interesting character, he was likeable and the story was intriguing. I am looking forward to reading his book.

All in all most of these stories were well written and I liked the characters!

Closet Confession by Kindle Alexander for Night Shift Dirty Things Happen In The Dark Anthology!!!

Dr. Derek Babineax works in the ER department of Tulane Medical in New Orleans and he's one of the most dedicated, sought after and hot doctor in this medical establishment. He is always in complete control until one day a hot new staff member awakens feelings that he had hidden for quite some time.

Justin Delacroix has just finished a long stay in the military and working at this medical center is exactly what he needs to be a part of society again. Working as a trauma nurse in this very high pressured place is exactly what he needs. He now finds himself attracted to an ER doctor but he's holding Dr. Baby at a distance.

This was an extremely hot and beautifully written novella by Kindle Alexander and of course she never disappoints and my only problem is that I wanted this novella and the story of Derek and Justin to go on and on. I loved the funny and quirky relationship between Dr. Derek and Mrs. Burch, gave us some great comedic moments. I love how these two guys were not looking for love or anything and then meeting in all places an ER was just perfect.

The hot and steamy connection between these guys was the best ever and a night shift that no one will ever forget. Wow their brief encounter was so deliciously hot and so well-written no one writes gay sex scenes like Kindle Alexander. She must've been a horny gay man in a previous life as your scenes are so spot on. You'll fall for Derek and Justin as I did. I highly and I mean highly recommend this novella by Kindle Alexander!!!

Even though I only read 4 out of the 6 six stories I loved this book. I loved how each author some how intertwined the stories a little with the New Orleans and hospital backdrop. They were amazing stories and were HOT!

This is a great group of authors with hearts of gold for great causes.

Off Duty by Sawyer Bennett
This is a story about second chances. That no matter what race or color your skin is love has no boundaries. This is a story of second chances. To right the wrongs and make up for lost time. Love is Love.

Rebound by Chelle Bliss
This story gave me a different perspective into the workings of Flash. Flash or otherwise known as Sam has been pining over a woman his entire life. Waiting and waiting. New Orleans is his second chance at life and love. I'm happy he got his HEA.

Wanting to Forget by Toni Aleo
What can I say about the sexy hockey player? Jordie is funny and sexy but needs to get his head on straight. His past weighs him down and I feel sorry for him. He needs to learn that he is worthy of love. He needs to get his head out of his ass. I love the Assassins series and can't wait to hear the rest of Jordie's story.

Closet Confession by Kindle Alexander
I loved the way this story was written and how I was surprised by turn of events. I like being on my toes and not knowing the expected. Love is Love!

I received an ARC for an honest review! Here goes! Be warned SPOILER ALERT!!!!

Most of this stories I loved. I say most because I don't like cliffhangers. I won't say the stories were bad because of it. Only one I wanted to skip and others I read like I'm dying of thirst. LOL

The book that I loved the most was Brenda Rothert's Healing Touch. It was sweet and hot. Just the type of stories I like to read. So, good job.

If I didn't give five stars or could give each story separately a rating they would get five stars each, except for Toni Aleo's Wanting to forget. Now I've read the first story Toni wrote and I can imagine it's totally different from what she writes today. It's just that reading this, how one man doesn't care and tries to forget is just plain..........I don't even know what to say here without saying it to the author. I really really like her style of writing, and if not for the man whore she wrote about I think I could have enjoyed this all that much more. Alas, she wrote about him and even though there is a sequel I'm kinda hoping I never read about a man like that. Simply don't like it.

As the rest of the stories, I loved them, read them and enjoyed them. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to read this anthology!!!

Night Shift is a combination of novellas by select Authors. All the stories take place or have something to do with the Tulane Medical Center in The Big Easy. I found all six of the novellas to be well written, hot, sexy and filled with good drama. We get to meet a variety of characters all dealing with some sort of baggage, that is holding them back from finding that one who completes them. Each novella is a fairly quick read, but left me wanting more, more, more.

It is hard for me to write this review without giving anything away, considering the size of each story. Just know that they are all equally hot, with great story lines, characters and plot. Just the right amount of drama and crazy side kick secondary characters. Do I have a favorite out of all six, yes I do, but I am not going to go into that as I enjoy books by all authors involved in this project. The awesome thing is the fact that all proceeds from the sale are going to benefit various charities. It is so awesome to see authors giving back after all the blood, sweat and tears that they pour into their work.

I give the Night Shift Novellas 4.5 Sexy Big Easy Stars!

MY THOUGHTS~

I was provided with a Review Copy/ARC for review.

I was impressed with this collection of novellas! I don't generally enjoy a novella as much as a full-length novel, but these were pretty good.

There was a nice variety of authors with their own different writing styles and that was interesting. As a whole, these were very written.

Although all the different stories were based around the hospital to a point, they aren't connected to one another. They can be read in any order and if there is one that you find you aren't particularly interested in, you can skip it and not miss anything as far as the hospital goes.

4/5 Off Duty -Sawyer Bennett
5/5 Rebound -Chelle Bliss
5/5 Wanting to Forget -Toni Aleo
4/5 Closet Confession -Kindle Alexander
5/5 Brenda Rothert -Healing Touch
4/5 Swimming in Shadows -Eden Butler

Off Duty - really good read. Good, likeable characters and a great little story line.

Rebound - ok read. Good characters but very short and a bit too saccharine for me.

Wanting To Forget - I'd like to forget I ever read this.
Horrible characters and crappy storyline.

Closet Confessions - great read. Would love a full length novel about Justin and Derek.

Healing Touch - I loved this story! Sweet and funny, I would really like to read more about Joss and Carson.

Swimming In Shadows- for a book with so much in it, nothing actually happens. I'm glad it was short enough that I don't feel like I've wasted too much time on it.

This was a great collection of short stories. The majority of them were complete, with only Toni Aleo and Eden Butler's stories having full length stories after (not available in this boxed set). I can't really pick my favorite as each story had something different; some made me feel deeply, while some just made me grin from ear to ear, while others made me impatient for more. This boxed set was definitely worth the $3.99 I paid. Will read more from this group again!!!!
