Quil Carter has been writing stories since he learned how to write. Now that people seem to like his stories, this is pretty much what he is planning on doing with his life.
This book! I just finished it and I am dying. My heart is racing and my head is pounding. I never dreamed a 1307 page book could feel so short. But The Voice of Rage and Ruin by Quil Carter could have been a thousand pages longer and it still wouldn’t be enough.
This book has been years in coming and while I am fairly new to the series it felt like seeing old friends again when I got to pick up where my favorite character’s stories left off.
Most people here are familiar with this series but if not, it is a pitch black post-apocalyptic epic. While the story is unapologetically dark it is never without purpose. Within this gritty and violent environment the characters are some of the most memorable and compelling of any I have read.
The world building is second to none. If you are feeling brave and don’t have any triggers I can’t recommend this series enough. Just be warned your life will never be the same.
I was barely able to sleep for a few hours before picking this book up again and finishing it on day 2.... I have missed these guys so much!! Too has happened... I am beyond words. Thank you so much Quil for another fabulous book and all of your hard work!!
I don’t know how Quil does it, but I was gripped for all 1400 pages. The characters completely draw you in, the plot twists, connections and depth of the story are just incredible. How on earth am I meant to wait for the next part?!
He does it again. No one writes like Quilt Carter and I've never wanted to reread and just live in books as much as I do his. I can't get enough. I can't wait for the next one. Jaaaaade
After waiting forever for this book to release, it was a let down for me. While the writing is great, I felt like some of the writing was done to solely appease the grievances that the readers (Fallocult fans) had from book 4. The conflicts from book 4 is what infused energy into the storylines. I was hoping to see that continued but sadly all grievances that the fans had with almost all the main characters were explained away and quickly resolved with a pretty pink bow which really didn't feel organic to me. One example, all of sudden one of the main characters has true feelings and true love (instead of a placeholder) for a character he's known all of 5 mins (in his immortal time) when he's spent like 200yrs trying to get his first love back or a cloned version of his first love. All of a sudden that obsession is completely gone after he's (literally in the storyline) been back with this person for 1 day. And it's because it's what the readers wanted to read. Like we're not going to even flesh this out some more??
I somewhat liked the introduction of the new characters but there were already too many characters to keep up with, lol. I know that the two timelines were integral to the book, surprisingly, I wasn't a fan of the jumping back and forth which sounded better in theory.
Honestly, I feel relieved so that I no longer have to painstaking wait on the next book/volume to be released because there was no cliffhanger that has my interest. Book 4 was chef kiss for me! Love the author, love the Fallocaust series!! I just wish that the book wasn't written based on what the readers wanted to happen and that the author really stuck his teeth in and had us gripping our kindles. There was just no fire, nothing pissed me off, and most things were painfullly predictable. All the books are my fav but I'm personally just not a fan of this latest book. If you've read the rest of the series and are looking forward to reading the continuation of the series that's really not shaking things up or straying too far from the same plots, you should read it.
This book has everything a true Fallocaust fan could want. All the feels, all the mysteries, all the complex characters! The details are extraordinary. And it's just the right level of complexity, never a dull moment. Amazing, as always!
.....Holy crap! How can a book be this long and not long enough. I honestly feel like I could read these books forever and never get bored. Off to do my reread now!
4.5 ✨️ Quil, my guy, u really killed it. will post full review once im done processing
p.s: seriously, thanks for not having silas and reaver bone, that wouldve been insanely weird. people who are all about that need to talk to their therapist I fear.
I am obsessed with this entire series. I read all of them and I literally awaited for this release at midnight?????! Reaver is one of my favourite characters; very complex and intriguing to read and it always excites me when it’s his turn to feature in a chapter. I already need Volume 2. Please.
This book very much felt like the building phase for the next so, I’m excited for more from the story :)
