The biggest DC story in years gets even bigger in this pivotal companion volume to DC K.O.!

Collects DC K.O.: Green Lantern Galactic Slam #1, Justice League: The Omega Act Special #1, DC K.O.: The Kids are All Fight Special #1, DC K.O. Knightfight #1-4, and DC K.O.: Boss Battle #1.
All the issues were very enjoyable other than Green Lantern: Galactic Slam. That kind of felt like it didn’t really need to be created. Batman: Knightfight was awesome! The Omega Act Special was a nice prelude to the event. The Kids Are All Fight was pretty solid, showing a set of POV’s from heroes on Earth during the tournament. Finally Boss Battle was pretty cool, Although I of course would’ve loved to see Superman vs. Homelander go on way longer. Overall though this was a great companion to the DC: K.O. event.
Were this book just the one-shot titles, I'd have probably given it a three star rating. None of them are particularly important to the overall story of DC KO except perhaps Boss Battle, but even that's a stretch since it doesn't really accomplish much.
The Green Lantern Galactic Slam issue is amusing on its own, but it's taking a joke from Jeremy Adam's Flash run and stretching it thinner and thinner, so you might find it more annoying than anything else if you've read as much of his stuff as I have.
The Kids Are All Fight is the most solid one, serving as a prelude to the New Titans series that spins out of KO and getting some spotlight on the teen heroes that have all kind of fallen to the wayside lately.
Boss Battle promises to be fun because it's all about the DC heroes fighting crossover characters like Annabelle and Sam Strong from Beneath The Trees, but it's not really long enough to do anything worthwhile with any of the fights. Homelander vs. Superman gets a page or two, Sabrina flies around a few panels...it either needed to be longer, or didn't need to exist. I will admit that the Joker vs. Annabelle did make me laugh though.
Oh, and there's the Omega Act special from Justice League Quarterly, but this is more prelude than KO essential - and it's been collected elsewhere already too.
The main draw for this trade then is the Knightfight series, a four issue mini by Joshua Williamson and Dan Mora (both prolific as hell at DC already), which sends Batman through four alternate realities in which each of his (male) Robins became Batman after he died. This isn't doing anything new overall, but the story's got a big heart, and shows that Williamson gets Batman just as much as he does Superman. And of course, very pretty art from Dan Mora, the human comic machine.
So yes, come for Knightfight, stay for Kids Are All Fight, and read the rest if you fancy.
Knightfight was actually really good. It's what Batman is off doing after he loses at the beginning of K.O. The alternate futures Batman sees for each of the Robins were really cool. Plus one f the best artist on the planet, Dan More, drew it.
The Omega Act Special was a cool lead in to K.O. Green Lantern: Galactic Slam was a waste of paper. It was a stupid story about galactic wrestling. The Kids Are All Fight was a little better. Superman's son babysits some new heroes.
Boss Battle is pretty awesome. It's got all of these characters from other universes that the remaining people in KO need to fight. Mortal Kombat, Red Sonja, Annabelle, Vampirella, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Samantha Strong and Homelander all show up. I can't believe they just in this one issue. This should have been the entire event.
DC K.O.: Green Lantern Galactic Slam #1 - 2 star - boring wrestling story line, a la No Holds Barred
Justice League: The Omega Act Special #1, - 4 stars - great prequel
DC K.O.: The Kids are All Fight Special #1, - 2 stars - random side story with hero kids
DC K.O. Knightfight #1-4 - 3 stars - Batman gets 4 Christmac Carol like futures where each Robin becomes Batman.
DC K.O.: Boss Battle #1 - 3 stars - main reason was excited about DC KO event. only 1 issue and not enough to flush out stories. should have been separate issues per fight
Justice League: The Omega Act Special #1, ☆☆☆☆ Green Lantern: Galactic Slam #1, ☆☆☆☆ The Kids are All Fight Special #1, ☆☆☆ Knightfight #1-4, ☆☆☆☆ Boss Battle #1, ☆☆☆
