Maverick has taken care of his four brothers, protecting them in ways he sheltered them from. When new tenant Teagan and her young daughter move in above his club, Maverick is intrigued but he doesn't feel like he can ever give himself to a woman, at least the way they would need. Teagan though sees something in Maverick and when they share a moment together that sh believes will lead to more, Maverick turns his back on her. However, Maverick can't stay away, he cares for Teagan and has to work through is past to make a future. What is already a hard path becomes even worse when someone from his past reappears intent on destroying everything.
This had a twist that I didn't see coming. I was the most anxious to read Maverick's story and it was fantastic. Maverick has always been the more quiet of the Carter brothers and you fully understand why once you read this book. Teagan I loved, her story unfolds and her daughter is adorable. Another great book by Lisa Helen Gray.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHH these Carter brothers continue to melt my heart.
I have been a huge fan of the Carter Brother series and have been dying for Maverick's book as well as dreading it. Knowing that this will be the final book in this series. I flove the Carter brothers, every single book has been devoured and has captivated me. Each brother holding a special place in my heart but Maverick was the dark horse the one that I really wanted.
I know from the reading the previous books that Maverick was the one that would grip me knowing the burden's he shouldered and chose to keep close to his chest in order to protect his younger brothers at all costs. In every other book in this series he is quiet and broody, we don't get to really see the sweet side. However this book we get to see all of it. His protectiveness towards Teagan and Faith will make you sigh out loud. His sweetness towards Faith. OH MY GAWD !!!!!!!!!!! Your heart will melt completely.
Teagan also has her share of heartache but is such a strong and loving mom and really is the perfect fit for Maverick. He is sooo busy taking care of others, he really needed someone for him.
This book had me laughing, gripping my kindle and smiling. So many different emotions going through me. The bond that the Carter brothers and their woman have is soooo heart warming, they have each others backs no matter what. Of course there were so many laugh out loud moments, particularly with Harlow and Max. As well Teagan's friend Tish was just hilarious.
Secrets will be revealed in this book and the past will come back to haunt the brothers in a way that will make you gasp and worry whether they will make it out of this stronger or if they will fall apart. The suspense in this book is gripping as well as heart breaking.
It was such a great way to end the series. The epilogue though will have your heart in your throat as well as at the same time have you completely smiling and thinking YASSSS this family finally gets their HEA. It's bittersweet almost.
Lisa Helen Gray absolutely knocked it out of the park with this last book and I can't wait for more from her and her little surprise at the end made me giddy. EEKKKKKKKKKK

This book was bittersweet for me as I was so looking forward to reading Mavericks story but I also knew it was the last of the Carter Brothers series. I have loved all of the books and Maverick didn't disappoint. Although you have an idea of what went on in Mavericks past after reading the other books, when you finally get the details it is heartbreaking. I had to read from start to finish and couldn't put it down. Grab the tissues and be prepared. Well done on another amazing book Lisa. Definitely a 5 star read *****

Incredible
I first fell in love with this series with Malik & Harlow & ive always anticipated mavericks story the most. And it was beautiful. I adored tegan & faith. And now knowing we're getting the next generations story. Can't wait!!!

A really great end to a heartwarming series.

Is book was so sad , the ending it took my breath away leaving me crying. It was so sweet and then it just happened.
This book was amazing so much happened leaving you excited to read more. It also linked all the book together in same way leaving answers you had finally cleared up.
The new romance in this book was heart warming to read about. From there first moments seeing each other they were lost to one another the souls connected on a deeper level. Even have he took her daughter as his own was beautiful which only gave him a softer side to him. He had racist all his brothers and now finding his woman he took her daughter as his own.
This book was so good can’t wait to read there children’s books stories.

I have been itching to get my hands on this book. It certainly didn’t disappoint! I will admit that I read this book as slow as I could. I wanted to make this book last as long as I could. But it didn’t happen, I was drew in and needed answers. Maverick and Teagan’s story is heart breaking; it stole a piece of my heart. Numerous times I found myself crying for them. But there were also moments that made me laugh and warmed my heart. The scene at the children’s play centre had me in stitches! I loved Maverick and Teagan as a couple. I liked the twist and turns of the story and I adored the surprise in the acknowledgments. I won’t say what the surprise is but I will say this: I CAN’T WAIT!
I loved that throughout the story we still saw the other characters from the series. Harlow’s hungriness and Max’s whining had me in stitches throughout. There wasn’t one thing I disliked about this book. I went from laughing to crying and vice versa, I can’t wait to read this book and the series over and over again. Faith is so cute and the ‘’be my prince’’ scene warmed my heart. The ending had me on the edge of my seat. The story got to 90% and I found myself saying ‘’that’s not enough time to find out everything’’. The ending was so unexpected!
The storyline for this book is easy to follow but I would highly recommend reading the series for full effect/knowledge. This book is hard to put down and will hit you with a case of the feels. The danger in the storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat. The cute scenes will have you ‘’aww’ing’’ & the funny scenes will leave you in stitches. Overall this book gets five freaking stars from me. I cannot wait for Lisa’s next book.
Two last things: The wedding vows/scenes in this book are so sweet and had me crying (in a happy way).
Tish had me in stitches throughout; I would love to read more about her!

Maverick is angry and confused at who would sell drugs at his club. But when he convinces Teagan to go undercover, it sets of a chain of events for the Carters and Teagan. What will happen when the Carters discover who the woman behind the trouble is? Will Teagan and Maverick get their happily ever after? & Most importantly, will anyone be safe?

You when a series digs deep in you from the start... where they start to feel less like book characters and more like family? Well that's my Carter boys.
We have watched these guys grow, mature, face obstacles, and fall in love. We have watched them struggle and push and fight.... only to come out on top each time.
I'll be honest.. I have been waiting for Maverick for a while... on pins and needles to see what he was going to throw our way as he was rounding up this series. The intrigue and not knowing coupled with the end coming made me crave his story.... and a little secret? He was completely and totally worth the wait.
Packed with heart, heat, family, laughs, and passion... Gray takes her readers on an unforgettable yet heartbreakingly beautiful journey that will twist up your heart and fiddle with your emotions. This family... these brothers... and these characters are so addicting and captivating, I couldn't help but get lost between the pages, racing to the end yet savouring each and every moment with them.
Maverick was so incredible.... stealing my heart in one heartbreaking swoosh and throwing surprises my way that kept me on my toes and the edge of the seat. I devoured this guy hard, falling just as fast... rooting for him and Teagan, the right one for him in every single way.

So worth the wait
I've read every book in this series and I can honestly say that this book is my absolute favorite by far. The ending had me tearing up but I honestly can't wait for the kids books to come out! Amazing job Lisa!

I have read all the series, I love all the characters especially max. Sad to see it come to an end and especially this ending in this book I chocked up so sad. I love this author never fails to make me laugh through out her books and one liners, the story lines always have you gripped iv never felt let down when iv finished a book.

I've waited for so long for this book. The series is just so amazing!
I found that the story did Maverick justice and provided a lot of missing information on the other brothers that filled in missing pieces for me.
I love that Mav finally gave in to the woman/child he loved. I did stress during the climax and was a little worried for a bit about all the of the characters.
I cried like a little kid on the last several paragraphs but understood how they fit in.
Thank you for providing insight into the future of the series/characters and I can't wait to come along for the ride when they are released!

This is the 5th book in the Carter Brothers Series and should be read in order
I’ve waited a while to get my hands on Maverick’s book. He’s the eldest, the family protector and the one with the deepest wound. He is an alpha to the core and trusts no one. He shoulders everyone’s burdens without even being asked, its just who he is and what he does for his brothers.
Teagan is a girl who hasn’t had it so easy but one thing she did to get out of it all is her 5 year old daughter Faith. Moving into the apartment above the club owned by the Carter’s was just something that was supposed to help her get by but what she got instead was so much more than she ever expected.
I just finished Maverick and OMG, Lisa nailed it! That was an amazing book, without a doubt a 5/5. It was a roller-coaster of emotions, happy, sad and anxious, they were all there. One minute you’re excited to see what is going to happen the next Lisa throws a twist in the story leaving you dumbfounded and wondering what else will happen. Knowing someone is targeting the Carter brothers is one thing but I never had a clue who the person was behind everything but once it was out it blew me away. And the little surprise they brought along with it was a shock. Lisa did a great job to fill her readers in with what the Carter’s childhood was like. If you honestly thought you had a clue about their past from the other books you will be amazed to find out what Maverick has been holding back and boy was he holding back.
I’m sad to have the series end as I just can’t get enough of the Carter brothers. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. I absolutely love this series and it’s one of the few I could read over and over again and still not get enough. They’re a family who have a bond that no one can seem to break. They’re lucky enough to find their soul mates who will stand by them throughout it all and come out stronger at the end. If you haven’t been introduced the then Carter’s then you have no idea what you’re missing.

DNF-ED, therefore no rating but I'll say this
When I started the series, I tried so hard to care for the characters but I just dont to be honest, and Lisa Helen Gray's writing isn't helping me like it at that! It didnt make me want to continue reading, it's not for me.
it certainly has great elements like the chemistry and the tension between the characters and the fact that each character had an issue to deal with at some point but the execution was also not for me.

Just what I've been waiting for!
Ok, so I litereally just finished this book and there are tears in my eyes, but I'm also so excited for whats next! Faith was a total scene stealer in this book. I probably should have waited on this review, but I just wanted to make sure it got a 5 because, it really was one of the best in this series. A must read.

Loved this book! All the Carter Brothers's books were awesome. Max had me literally laughing out loud in this book. It was awesome and knowing we will get more of the next generation is the best! I didn't want the story to end. Definitely a must read!!

I couldn't believe everything that happened in this book! At first it started out slow but picked up and I can definitely say I was not disappointed! Tegan and Maverick are amazing and each has overcome so much. I love how everyone was in the story and even after the devastating news Maverick gives everyone they still stick together! In this book was everything, lot drama, emotion, secrets, shock and lot tears.
Weddings and love.
Overall this all books is absolute well-written books and I will miss all of them.

There wasn’t one thing I disliked about this book. I went from laughing to crying and vice versa, I can’t wait to read this book and the series over and over again. Faith is so cute and the ‘’be my prince’’ scene warmed my heart. The ending had me on the edge of my seat. The story got to 90% and I found myself saying ‘’that’s not enough time to find out everything’’. The ending was so unexpected!
The storyline for this book is easy to follow but I would highly recommend reading the series for full effect/knowledge. This book is hard to put down and will hit you with a case of the feels. The danger in the storyline will keep you on the edge of your seat. The cute scenes will have you ‘’aww’ing’’ & the funny scenes will leave you in stitches. Overall this book gets five freaking stars from me. I cannot wait for Lisa’s next book.
Two last things: The wedding vows/scenes in this book are so sweet and had me crying (in a happy way). Tish had me in stitches throughout; I would love to read more about her!

What will happen when the Carters discover who the woman behind the trouble is? Will Teagan and Maverick get their happily ever after? & Most importantly, will anyone be safe?
I loved that throughout the story we still saw the other characters from the series. Harlow’s hungriness and Max’s whining had me in stitches throughout. This is Teagan and Maverick’s story. Teagan is Maverick’s new tenant. He feels things for her he knows are not good. She is light and he is so dark. He has done things he is not proud of, has a dark past, and is a protector of his brothers. But he can’t stay away from her. Teagan likes Maverick and thinks that he likes her but when he gives her the cold shoulder she knows she needs to leave and stay away from him. When he comes to her and apologizes to her she agrees to leave things in the past and star over. First, he needs help with a situation. She helps him out but what happens when she needs protection? Can he protect her? What happens when people from their past collide? Will they come out of the danger whole or will the danger take everything from them? Will there be a little ray of light in all the danger if only they can find it? Can they figure out what is wanted from them before it’s all too late? Or in the end will they lose not only each other but people they love?
I loved these characters and the side characters. You get a little from each of the brothers in this story. I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Maverick's story was the one that intrigued me the most. His life was filled with so many secrets. Would he ever be able to share with his brothers all that he had sacrificed for them?
Teagan and her daughter Faith, move into the apartment Maverick has above his business. He helps her when someone steals her purse. He is instantly attracted to her and thinks that he can get her out of his system once he sleeps with her. He didn't count on falling for her and Faith. Danger comes looking for them and they have no clue where it's coming from. The enemy is a major surprise I didn't see coming. There were many surprises throughout the book which is always great when it's not so predictable.
I really didn't like the way that Harlow was shown in this book. The author really made her almost an unlikeable, which she isn't. The amount of food she was eating is not what a pregnant woman really eats. Yes they have cravings but that was a little overboard and her actions for not getting food was unnecessary. I loved the ending except for one aspect of it, which you will understand once you read. Looking forward to what the author has plans for in the future.

Teagan and Mavericks love story started off with a bang in the end of Max’ book and I had to wait for so long for his book but it was worth the wait! Obviously!!
I always love reading a single parent romance, but a single parent romance by Lisa Helen Gray? EXCEPTIONAL!!!!
Lisa Helen Gray will forever be my favourite author!
