Marriage
Marriages are complicated and sometimes one party isn't so happy with the relationship. The woman in this story has made her peace with it but in so doing, her husband begins to realize he is being left out, by his own choice, of course. But, the action of the woman coupled with her love and acceptance of him just as he is helps him to realize maybe he doesn't really want to be left out anymore. Great story!

Valerie Allen shows that there is hope in this short story and that people make the most of the life they have, accepting the people they love and still living their life. Yet, we can become so busy we miss out on so much. Great story.

Believable Dialogue carries the tale
Pulled me into more emotion and empathy for Doug than I expected in brittle truths delivered with love. Excellent delivery.
