Once upon a time, this was THE book summarizing our knowledge of political participation. Who participates in politics? Why? What are the characteristics of those who get involved in politics? The book includes a model that suggests how different factors might affect one's propensity to participate in the world of politics. Dated now, but a landmark in its day.
