Most parents don’t really think about baby teeth until they actually appear.
But a lot of things start much earlier than that.
I wrote this guide because I kept seeing the same questions in practice — parents unsure what’s normal, when to start, or what really matters in those early months.
I tried to keep everything simple and practical. Not like a medical book, but something you can actually use day to day without overthinking.
Inside, I talk about teething, early cavities, how oral bacteria are passed, and small habits that can make a real difference early on.
It’s a short guide, easy to go through, and something you can come back to whenever you need a quick answer.
If you’re a new parent (or expecting), this is meant to help you feel a bit more confident and less overwhelmed.
I loved how Dr. Petković wrote, “The way I would explain it if you were sitting across from me, holding your child, asking if everything is okay.” That is exactly what this book feels like. It is such an easy read and so easy to follow. It brings together many things—some familiar, some new—and puts them into a form that feels practical, sensible, and full of the clarity Dr. Petković promises.
I also appreciated the reminder about dental care before birth. That is such an important point. After all, when you are doing everything you can to have a healthy baby, that should include dental health too.
Honestly, I think this book belongs not only in pediatric dental offices and clinics, but also in OB-GYN offices. It would be a very helpful resource for parents-to-be and for parents in general. In fact, it is a simple book that could help anyone become more aware of how important dental hygiene is from the very beginning of life.
