deeply interesting and well-thought: the fact that this pamphlet is presented as a debate and allows inquiries as well as constructive criticism makes it easier to figure out our own positions (or lack of) on the subject and encourages critical thinking. the experiences of all these women also allow for a proximity and an intimacy which perfectly completes the first political part of the pamphlet. definitely a must-read

the most interesting part was the last two statements, however most views here were biphobic and transphobic. maybe it was because of being open letters that made them feel very confrontational and not facilitating debate instead of being vehicles to more fruitful discussions... would love to discuss this collection of letters with any of my friends, it does spark up interesting debates but the "answers" provided in the pamphlet were unsatisfactory

I want to start this by saying how refreshing and endearing it is to read the different arguments about the pamplets ! Although I find a lot of issues in the pamphlet ( the emphasis on the penis, and the contradictions in the arguments), I did love to read about the different arguments through the letters and sometimes I think some letters were more articulate than the pamphlet itself

Interesting little volume that is simply a published political lesbian manifesto with many responses, some highly critical, some partially critical, some mixed and some positive. It's interesting that the book ends with the women who wrote the manifesto critiquing their own work and word choice. Thoughtful piece of the history of the Women's Liberation Movement/second wave feminism.

This is clearly still a very hot topic. I’ve never really been overly fond of lesbian feminism (even as a lesbian feminist myself) but there were some pretty good points made on their behalf. However, I do think that they were overly critical of the heterosexual feminists, overly critical of heterosexual separatism, I think everyone should be a separatist! Lesbians and feminists should always flock together, too many pit us against each other. So yeah, it is a good book, a thought-provoking read!

“La pareja heterosexual es la unidad básica de la estructura política de la supremacía masculina. En ella, cada mujer individual entra dentro del control de un hombre individual”
muy bueno, como todos los libros que analizan la heterosexualidad obligatoria. diría que no es un libro para profundizar ya q es muy corto, pero vale la pena

Crazy, but the debate part was a interesting read. You can see how gender binary was the main issue that radicalized some feminists to separatism or political lesbianism

Yes i read this because of the "Lowkey, i chose to to be a lesbian" essay. And yes i think that essay was terrible.
