I had SO much fun reading this!

Sawyer is an absolute disaster but hilarious with it, and Beckett is kinda unhinged but in the best way and they were just so good together.

The whole fake boyfriend plot was really funny and done in a way I haven't seen before, so that was really refreshing and entertaining. The drama and emotions were so good too and I loved how the relationship between these two progressed.

Sawyer's family were chaos but so enjoyable to read, and I can't wait to get a story for Rome!

Sometimes you pick up a book and it's just absolutely everything you were hoping to read and it hits the spot perfectly.

So it was with Heartsmashed. I adored everything about this story, from the meet/cute under unusual circumstances, to the characters who inhabited the world, to the way in which Beckett was there for Sawyer in every way that counted.

I also loved the tension that was ever-present from knowing that Beckett hadn't been entirely truthful with Sawyer from the start, something that was going to have to be addressed at some point.

Seeing Hudson and Drew from Bedhead was also an added bonus, as is Sawyer's younger brother Rome, who's story I cannot wait to read!

The slowburn and UST adds to the enjoyment because the attraction is there from the start and you know it's only going to be so long before they can't help but act on it.

Having a forced proximity/only one bed scenario just adds another layer of deliciousness and the humour throughout is en pointe, just bringing more fun to what's a relatively light angsty story in the first place.

It seemed only two minutes since I'd picked it up before I was finish it with a big smile on my face because everything flowed beautifully and I was so into the plot, I didn't want to put the book down.

Brooke's great at this sort of romcom narrative and it was a definitely feed good read.

“Sometimes,” I added, “the thing that feels like the ending is really just the part where the story finally stops being about the person who left and starts being about who you get to become without them. And if you’re really lucky, maybe someone shows up, someone who sees the mess and stays anyway.”

Heartsmashed is book 2 in Brooke Blaine's Hate To Love You series of linked standalones, following the life and loves of the Montgomery brothers. This is Sawyer and Beckett's story.

What To Expect:

❣️MM romance
❣️Fake dating
❣️Mistaken identity
❣️Opposites attract
❣️Forced proximity
❣️Only one bed
❣️Found family
❣️All the steam
❣️HEA

A very cute and enjoyable palate cleanser of a read!

I read this entire book in one sitting. The plot of this book is so zany and rom-com coded that it was simply impossible to not have a good time reading it, and when you add in great characters and a wholesome love story to the mix, you get a quality experience. Sawyer and Beckett were so good; i loved their cute moments and watching their relationship truly grow despite its unconventional beginnings. The Montgomery family is also a riot and i can not wait to go back and read Hudson's story while i wait for Rome's to come out. Overall, if you are looking for a fun and lighthearted rom-com with miscommunication galore and great family vibes, this is definitely a book you should check out.

I absolutely adored this book!!! I smiled and laughed for 95% of it! It was such a fun read! I have not read the first book but will absolutely being going back to read it!

Beckett and Sawyer meet when Sawyer hires who he thinks is an escort, to be his fake boyfriend for a week. Beckett however, is not an escort but was instantly interested in Sawyer so plays along anyways! This was a different take on the a fake boyfriend trope and I really enjoyed it! Sawyer is a yapper, especially in stressful situations so it was hilarious watching them navigate their fake relationship in front of everyone.

The relationship may be fake but the attraction was real and once it got physical, soooo hot!! It was a bit of a slow burn, but with everything else going on and the intense attraction, it never felt slow.

I was glad to see Peter out in his place! I cannot wait for Rome’s book and will be going back to read Hudson’s!

After reading the first book, I couldn't wait to read about the brother who was losing his shit on live radio every day over his ex. I'm fairly new to fake dating stories, so I was excited to dive into this one! I loved the added complexity of Sawyer not knowing that Beckett isn't actually the guy he thought he selected to be his fake boyfriend.

Their relationship definitely had an unconventional start, but these two were made for each other. Beckett is the calm to Sawyer's unhinged, wild storm of a self. He shows up at exactly the right moments and gives Sawyer things he doesn't even know he needs, whether it's a touch, reassurance, a joke, a safe space, or a crazy dance move. Beckett is always making sure Sawyer is taken care of.

Their relationship is so sweet and endearing. Beckett gives Sawyer the space to drop the front he portrays to everyone else, because Beckett sees right past all of it.

Can't wait to read Rome's story when it comes out!

HEARTSMASHED (Hate to love you 2) Di Brooke Blaine

5⭐3🌶️

E ciao ciao all'ex!

ENGLISH REVIEW:

Heartsmashed is the second book of the Series "HATE TO LOVE YOU" but you can read it as a stand alone!
Heartsmashed is so sweet and cute!!! Sawyer and Beckett are the best real “fake” boyfriends I ever read; Beckett is amazing and even if he’s not the real guy Sawyer has the date… he decided to help him and be his boyfriend for the wedding of Sawyer’s mothers and he can’t wait to help Sawyer with his ex. Beckett was fantastic with his family too! He knows the truth and he feels guilty for all week, but the feelings between them are so real that I rooted during the book for their happy ending!!! I loved Sawyer's family and his brothers!
Brooke is amazing, I really love her books, her main characters are always so perfect and well described. She writes the very sweet and cute romances and I’m in love!!!
Now I can't wait for Rome's book!!!

Heart-melting, swoony, packed with heat and chemistry, and that's just the tip of the iceberg in describing this delightful book. I definitely couldn't stop smiling and I certainly fell in love with everyone, well except for the jealous ex 😂, but Heartsmashed is a win, win win all the way around.

The entire time, and I mean literally from cover to cover, every chapter played out perfectly like it was a movie. Not only was the writing engaging and drew me in like I was sitting in the radio studio with Sawyer or on the family vacation with his entire family while also tucked away in the one-bed cabin with Bennett. No hardship there mind you.😉 Heartsmashed was every little moment in between and all the big ones too. It's family and fun, laughter-filled moments, theme parties and competitions and falling for a fake boyfriend even when it was the last thing that they ever expected.

Sawyer Montgomery is heartbroken and talks about it openly on his radio talk show. His ex, after two years together, walked out on him and Sawyer is, of course, devastated. When he finds out that his ex RSVP'd to his parents wedding vow renewal, which is also a week-long family vacation, and that he's bringing a date. Sawyer's not about to show up to a week of family fun alone. So, Sawyer jumps off the deep end and hires an escort, or at least he thinks he does, but on the night he goes to meet him he meets the wrong guy. Or perhaps the right one. 😉❤️

Bennett wasn't looking for Sawyer, but when he turned up it seemed like fate. Someone he didn't want to let slip through his fingers. So, he let Sawyer believe what he wanted, thinking he'd correct the misunderstanding later, but later never really came up. The more time he spent with Sawyer the more he liked him. Sawyer's funny, heartwarming, and says everything that pops into his head, but even more than that he's genuine and that was something that made telling the truth even harder. How do you tell the man you're falling for that their beginning was all based on a lie?

The entire Montgomery family was so much fun. I wanted in on every single family event and I definitely want to be invited to their family vacations. I love that they love so openly and they all feel so secure about their love within the family. It was beautiful to be a part of it even while reading and even among the teasing and laughter there was just something special and touching about being a part of their family. ❤️🥹 I can't wait to read more from this world for this very reason. The Montgomery Family.

Sawyer and Beckett were such lovable characters! I was rooting for them from the very beginning. It was frustrating to see how much control Sawyer’s slimy ex still had over him, but I really enjoyed watching Sawyer grow throughout the story. Seeing him realize what he deserved—and recognize that his ex was never what he truly needed—made his character arc especially satisfying. I also loved that he was so emotional and, at times, a bit of a train wreck. It made him feel incredibly real.

I loved that Beckett seemed to understand him better than anyone else and always knew exactly what he needed. Beckett was so steady compared to Sawyer and really seemed to ground him. I liked that he was so patient and understanding and also protective of Sawyer. I did find myself wishing we had learned a little more about Beckett throughout the book, though. The author didn’t really give us much insight into his family or dating past.

Sawyer’s family was another highlight of the book. His brother and moms brought so much humor and warmth to the story, and I loved seeing how supportive and loving they were. That strong family dynamic added an extra layer of heart to the romance.

I was so happy when the truth finally came out and they were able to work through everything together. It was sweet to see both of them be vulnerable with each other, and I especially loved that Beckett stayed and fought for Sawyer when it mattered most. And the spice? So good. I absolutely ate it up!

Overall, this was a fun, light, swoony, and sexy MM romance. If you're a fan of the fake dating trope, this is definitely one to add to your

"Love doesn’t mean never making mistakes. It’s what you do after you make them that matters."

Sawyer hired an escort to pose as his boyfriend in his family's weeklong celebration but what he didn't know that Beckett's not an escort. Beckett was attracted to Sawyer and opted to help him out. What follows as helping turned into something more but secrets always have a way to reveal itself.

The premise sounds so cute and endearing, that you know what you are going to get which I did.

I love the characters. We mainly focused on Sawyer and his struggles post break-up and how he was crashing out on everything. Real. Honestly, that felt so genuine that everyone will go through it. Though he was heart broken, but he's very quirky in a way that he had to fill the silence with constant chatter and goes out of his way to make everyone around him happy. Beckett on the otherhand, I wished we saw more of. I kinda want to know more about him, his history, his family, etc. because we focused more on Sawyer and his family.

"My forehead brushed his, my breath uneven, and I held on to him, my lifeline. The one good decision I’d made in far too long."

Plot was straight forward, I was really in for the ride and what a great ride it was. I love the whole thing. Basically what I needed while bed rotting. I really enjoyed this book. It was fun, it got petty scenes, it got slice of life snippets and I am always a sucker for fake dating trope.

Def added book 1 to my tbr and might read the next one!

Love this one from Brooke!
This is book 2 in the hate to love you series. Full disclosure I didn’t read book yet, but I definitely will be now!

Sawyer‘s boyfriend of two years just broke up with him out of the blue. When he finds out his ex is coming to his parents anniversary week in the Catskills with a new date, he decides to hire an escort to pretend he’s also moved on. However, when he goes to meet, said escort, unbeknownst to him, he meets Beckett. Beckett quickly realizes that Sawyer thinks he’s an escort, but decides to play along and join him on the trip. The week there quickly turns into something more real when it was supposed to be fake.

I loved Sawyer’s personality! He was so dramatic, but also super funny and real. What a sweetie Beckett was. I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of the series! This is a super fun and light read!

From the very first page, I was hooked!
This book is just magnificent!

This was such a fun, heartwarming read with the perfect balance of humour, romance, and emotion. Beckett and Sawyer’s journey was beautifully written, and I loved watching their relationship develop.

The fake-boyfriend storyline was written extremely well!
As Sawyer’s feelings for Beckett grew, I found myself completely drawn into their story and wishing for them to be together .

Sawyer’s family were wonderfully chaotic and had me laughing out loud, but their unconditional love for him added so much warmth and heart to the book. And Beckett? Absolutely divine—a genuinely kind man with a heart of gold.

A fantastic romance filled with laughs, love, and unforgettable characters. I loved every word and highly recommend!

I loved this! Sawyer is an absolute train wreck of a person, his nervous babbling and fun personality are a treat! I can see why Beckett just went with the story instead of correcting him that he was, in fact, not the escort he was looking for. When everything comes to a head both characters handle it kinda level headed and it’s also resolved fairly quickly but it’s because Sawyer realizes that Beckett stayed and did everything bc he wanted to, not for the money! I only wish we had some kind of notation on Peter and how he got what he deserved but let’s be honest he wasn’t worth the effort. I cant wait to see Romes story next!

4.5 Stars!

After being dumped, Sawyer just needs a date to his parents wedding that his ex is crashing, and let’s just say he gets more than he paid for.

Fake dating. Mistaken identity. One bed. And an entire week of family wedding shenanigans. I had a blast with this one!

Sawyer and Beckett were all in on each other and I was all in on them! So endearing. So sweet. And just enough spice.

I wish Beckett came clean a bit sooner (miscommunication anyone? ) but it didn’t take away from this fun, quick romance perfect for summer! Highly recommend picking this one up.

As soon as I read the first chapter I was all in. Sawyer is such a sweetheart, wears his emotions on his sleeves and has been burned badly, hence the crazy plan he came up with and how he meets Beckett.
These two gave me heart palpitations and made me so so giddy. The ex can burn for eternity but these two..they are perfect for each other and I adore them. I love Sawyer’s family and their antics and it made the story even more spectacular.

Sawyer and Beckett are meant for each other. Sawyer assumes Beckett is his escort he's meeting and starts talking away. Beckett is not sure what to think but goes along with it. They hit it off and he accompanies Sawyer to his moms wedding renewal vows in the Catskills. The sexual tension between them is smokin hot and once they finally give its fireworks. Loved that Beckett made a mistake and Sawyer accepted his apology.

When I started this book, I didn't realise how much I am going to be giggling and laughing while reading this story. Usually, mistaken identity isn't something that I read, but Heartsmashed is and will be an exception that will live long to tell the tale. The main characters as well as the supporting characters, they all were superbly written. The love story was soooo goood! Highly recommended!

Sawyer is absolutely adorable, you can’t not love him.
Beckett is the guy we all want in our life’s.
From the get go I loved this book. Their love story is adorable and yes Beckett is lying to sawyer for a while but it’s all because he sees who sawyer can be when given the support and courage to be himself.
I don’t wanna give too much away but the sweetness and spice 😜 level are amazing during all the family event and facing sawyer ex!

This book was cute. So you have Sawyer who had his heart crushed by his ex. His ex gets a invite to his mom's upcoming wedding renewal. So Sawyer freaks out hires an escort. Except the guy who he talks to Beckett isn't actually the escort at all but is intrigued by Sawyer so he pretends he is. This is a story about them falling in love through all the chaos.

Wow, this is such a great book, super fun to read.

The MCs are so funny; one is a disaster and the other, well, a bit crazy.
Which makes for hilarious situations; they complement each other well.
