She died once. This time, she’s not the victim. Ashley Richards remembers everything. The betrayal. The lies. The life that was stolen from her… and the sister who destroyed it. Reborn with nothing but her memories and a need for revenge, Ashley has spent years rebuilding herself into something sharper, colder, untouchable. Then she finds him. Knox Sinclair. Billionaire. Ruthless. Obsessive. A man who doesn’t lose and doesn’t share. He was never meant to be hers. He was the man her sister wanted. So Ashley makes a choice. She’ll take him instead. What starts as strategy turns dangerous fast, because Knox isn’t a man you use and walk away from. He watches. He claims. He protects what’s his… and once he decides Ashley belongs to him, there’s no escape. But the past isn’t done with her. A sister who won’t stop. A family built on secrets. A revenge plan that was never meant to include love. Ashley wanted control. Knox wants everything. And this time… no one is walking away clean.
What Comes Around is Book 2 in the What Goes Around duet and should be read after Book 1. This is not a standalone.
Thalia Nova writes dark psychological fiction about revenge, betrayal, and the long shadows secrets leave behind. Her stories explore how far someone will go when given a second chance to rewrite their fate.
Not only was this the first time I read Thalia Noka's work, it was also my first rebirth read.
The emotions it stirred in me were incredibly intense. Hope, optimism, satisfaction, triumph, but also aversion, pain, frustration, rage and anger.
The flow and the pace were incredibly conducted, a masterfully crafted and written plot where events were tightly connected. I was thoroughly invested in the story, and I found myself completely immersed in it. It was highly addictive, engrossing, adventurous, deep and unique.
Apart from the main heroine who was featured, various characters were presented with their own paths, which were revealed to intersect completely. The characters had different facets (psychological, social), and the plot explored themes from different perspectives.
The story was mostly told from the heroine’s pov. At certain junctures, the points of view of other characters were also included.
A glorious artful twist in the end completed the story, and two epilogues were incorporated as well.
Overall, it was a plot that held my full interest and attention, as many threads were woven together to create such a rich artistic effect. It definitely surpassed all of my expectations!
I can't wait for the author’s next release, which I'm looking forward to with great anticipation!!!!!
I finished this duet in one sitting yesterday. It was that consuming. Both books gives different vibes. I was kinda hesitant to draw any verdict about book 1 due to its stilted writing but when it was paired and followed by this book, oh my god, how glad I was to pick this duet up.
Book 2 is amazing. No doubt about that. Oh the plotting and revenge plot was so satisfying, I was salivating. Add to the amazing chemistry between our heroine and our hero, which was just *chef's kiss*. Coming from book 1 which has ZERO romance whatsoever to this, do I need to explain how happy I was again? The tension was so nerve wrecking, the stake was so ever high again. The plotting, and evil machinations from our villain never stop making this book a fun wild ride.
Highly recommended for everyone.
p.s. oh and, that little twist in the end there, I think we're all expecting that. But nice work, dear author.
Super fun read and plot. Ashley was like a phoenix rising from the ashes, and it was glorious. Apple was looney toons level of villain and it was fun watching her downfall.
It did lag a bit for me in the middle, but it was very well worth pushing through to get to the end. The twist in the epilogue was a shocker that I didn’t see coming and absolutely loved!
Great read. Definitely recommend to my angst loving friends. 🐦🔥
First "reborn" book for me and I loved it. It's a really well written story that runs you through the ringer of emotions. Highly recommended! I keep my eye out for similar stories but this book sets the bar high!
I wasn't going to rate this till I finished book 2. I'm so glad I picked this up!!!
There were some brutal and very difficult scenes in the beginning. But the point of the story was she comes back and gets to change her trajectory. Still difficult to read.
Others have mentioned a twist at the end. I kept waiting for it and thinking is this it? Can't be. Then... holy fucking twist... I loved it!!!
This duet sounds soapy and is of course unrealistic, but it is so well written, the heroine is not overblown, and for every victory I was grinning and smirking right along with her.
HONESTLY.. I enjoyed this very much. It’s different from other books I read. Knox is just so perfect for Ashley. She deserves the world after what happened.
Most of us would love a second chance at life and probably even more than that.
Ashley and Knox make a beautiful couple together. Nothing could stop them. I really am glad Amy got her HEA also. She was so loyal to Ashley for saving her.
I was so happy to see Marissa and Apple go down for the crimes. I was not really happy with what Brandon had done he caused a lot of it but just to leave his son like that geez.
I definitely needed to trust the process more with Book 2. I made a lot of assumptions early on that ended up shaking out very nicely with further reading, but for a while it was touch and go.
Part of what kept the engine running for me was trying to figure out exactly who the romantic endgame would be. At first, once that direction was confirmed, I did not like it. I was disappointed. He felt a little one-note to me, and I thought Ashley could do better. There is nothing I hate more than a nonchalant man—or even a man performing nonchalance—lingering on the sidelines for weeks and months at a time. That kind of dynamic usually loses me fast, and for a while I found myself hoping it would be anyone but him.
But as I got further in, things improved immensely. By the final chapters, I had a complete reset and fully reversed myself. It turned into a real serendipity moment, and I ended up understanding why the story made the choice it did. My one lingering complaint is that I still wanted more of the endgame character himself. Certain revelations only made me more curious about his life, and I wish we had gotten to know him better.
At the same time, the biggest revelation of all was that I could have easily read this book without the romantic component. What kept me most invested was the mystery: the cup, the bite mark, the burner phone, the elusive trafficker from the first book, and of course the question of how Apple would handle things in her last desperate attempt—whether it would mirror the first life or somehow end even worse. A huge part of the suspense was whether our girl, now stripped of hindsight, would still be able to overcome the traps closing in around her.
I was also much more pleased with the plot in this book. It felt far more restrained and less outlandish than the first, which I found really refreshing. There was definite growth in the storytelling, and events followed a more logical progression. It was still a little hammy at times, especially when it came to Apple’s motivations, but never to the point of being too much. I appreciated that the book handled the mystery and intrigue with more control while still keeping everything compelling.
It was especially satisfying to see all the loose ends tied up. The reveal of the trafficker, the truth behind the bite mark, and the burner phone were all resolved in a way that felt conclusive and earned. The revenge element was very well done, and that satisfaction carried a lot of weight for me.
Looking back, I probably should have figured out the endgame earlier than I did, but Book 1 had already set so many things in motion that I was not entirely sure I could trust the narrator enough to call it early. That uncertainty ended up working in the book’s favor, because even when I was frustrated, I was still fully engaged.
Overall, this was a very stimulating reading experience. I was originally leaning toward a 3 out of 5, but once I got past the 40% mark, it climbed all the way back up to 5 stars, and that is where I am leaving it. Great story, genuinely edge-of-your-seat, and an absolutely crazy ride.
This was a wild ride. THAT ENDING…*handclap* because I did not see that coming. (Possible spoilers ahead)
I was ready for the sister showdown. Personally, I don’t think Apple suffered ENOUGH. *Alexa, play Sick Puppies’ “you’re going down” *
Honestly, the way the author tied in that ending was outstanding. At first, I was like huh???? Then I was like ohhhhhhhhh. Wow. Then it finally made sense why he was so possessive of Ashley. There was NO way he was letting her go. He already knew what life looked like without her. He was all in.
Apple was such a comical villain. I’d say it was so unbelievable except I’ve met women who act somewhat similar to her. She’s so skanky getting condoms out of trash cans. 🤢
Ofc, Apple is one of those shitty influencers. There’s one part that sounds exactly like Jaclyn Hill and that KOZY scandal she had. The author was very accurate on how the cycle works with these influencers.
The one thing that bugged me. In book 1, Ashley told Nick she could never be with somebody who was with her sister. Well, Knox was with her sister. I do realize it was totally different circumstances. Nick was hurtful with his actions, where Knox didn’t even know Ashley yet. It just irked me. I have to admit, when Apple was pregnant and saying it was Knox’s baby- and he was saying NO WAY- I was worried for a bit. I didn’t trust him.
There is spice in this book. I’d rate it mild, but my spice meter likes dark romances so it’s skewed.
The comeuppance should have been ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️ Apple deserved to be slowly lowered into a pit of boiling acid.
I will start out stating that l never leave a review unless a book touches me. You need to start with What Goes Around, and you will want to stay up late reading to finish. I kept telling myself l would stop at the next chapter and just never could. The rebirth storyline was new with me and it was just so satisfying. The way Ashley had so much patience and revealed little by little kept me smiling the whole way through. The angst is definitely in these books and it's the perfect amount. I couldn't have guessed the ending even if you had given me 100 chances. Lol Still ooh soo satisfying. Loved these 2 books so much. I have bought both books to keep them in my kindle library.
This was fun times. I love a give no fucks fmc on the war path! The evil half sister was written so well - gah she was a bitch. What was weird for me was the whole “no means yes” sexual kink in the MCs relationship as it didn’t make sense for the fmc ‘s character after what she endured for 5 years in her previous life, how and why would she want that?!? So I knocked it down a star for that . The mmc kind of didn’t live up to my expectations of what I imagined he’d be. Maybe bc I think the fmc is such a bad ass I thought she deserved a mmc who’d actually fight for her not just put out statements. Lastly, the story dragged just a bit but I really enjoyed the writing and think this author should definitely publish like 30 books starting tomorrow. :)
How do I move on with my life and not have this book constantly on loop?!
Not only do we get an MMC that is absolutely fantastic but the FMC is so bad ass We also have found family and a community that gets built quietly and safe safely and amazingly You have very very satisfying dismantle of villains And to top all that off, you have a genuine happy ever after WITH A TWIST IN THE EPILOGUE
I thought the twist was going to be something completely different because I didn’t see that. Someone said there was a twist. I really didn’t see this one coming. It was perfect. It was amazing. I adored it.
The first one was more intense but this was so good. That epilogue was amazing. Totally gave me chills..her family actually got what they deserved. They were horrible people. This part was when she found her man and helped decimate the evil that filled their home. I even recommended it to my friends. I liked Knox except after he met the heroine he hooked up with an actress and maybe even more but only the actress was mentioned. I was just disappointed in that. No they weren't together but he basically stalked her while she worked for him. Before their hookup. That's just me. Once the connected so to speak, there was no one else. It has a very good ending. I'm emotionally exhausted right now!
A reborn story told over 2 books. They made sure I was hooked from page 1% in the first book through to page 99% in book 2. It's difficult to write a review as it is a complicated storyline, and I feel that it would be so very easy to give spoilers, and believe me when I say I don't want to do that. This duet needs to be devoured in it's entirety without hints spoiling it. So sit back, open up on page 1 of What goes around and just go with the flow. The entire storyline of the duet, with it's twists and turns, deserves to be enjoyed (chocolate, a glass of wine, or two, and a box of tissues are a must). So, dear reader ENJOY xxx
Part 2 of the duet, and Ashley is still having to deal with her crazy half-sister, Apple. The name is dumb. Anyway Apple is still after Knox and this time she is claiming her baby is his. DNA testing!
Actually Apple does a ton of stuff, as does her mother. These women are all psychopaths in my opinion. How does someone reach these huge levels of entitlement? These women have done nothing but they completely believe that they are OWED and DESERVE stuff they have never earned. Crazy.
Love the epilogues… Knox has a really good one that you will love!
I’ve put off reading this book; one because it was a duet but the other was because it was a rebirth story. The book kept on popping up and someone posted it and I decided to give it a try. I was hooked from the very beginning page. This story has everything that I love except one thing but that’s a me thing. The story was fantastic.
Ashley gets to meet Knox!! Whoop whoop! Knox sets a meeting, Ashley attends. They finalize their cooperation. Ashley starts to work for Knox. Knox can’t help but watch her. She’s diligent, hard working, brilliant and stunning. Ashley knows Knox is watching her. This is all strategically planned. In her last life her step sister Apple wanted Knox, and she got him, trapped him..destroyed him. In this life, Ashley will get Knox…and she’ll keep him. But what begins as revenge turns into something more…something real, and “dark.” Because of her last life, Ashley hasn’t wanted intimacy with anyone. And the intimacy she craves is dark, and dominating. Four months after working for Knox, he makes his move. He calls her into his office and he ravages her. Ashley is surprised…but isn’t. Knox is stunned. Ashley was a virgin when he took her. He had received incrementing photos of Ashley and it drove him to claim her harshly. Now he knows that the photos were fake (clearly they were sent by Apple). He apologizes. Ashley tells him it’s nothing…but she’s biding her time. Then, after a dinner meeting, Knox takes her home and tells her to invite him inside. They end up sleeping together again. Ashley reveals her secret desires, and Knox tells her he wants the same. They begin seeing one another. They keep it quiet at work, but they’re in deep.
Apple makes her move. She goes onto a podcast hinting loudly that she’s pregnant, and Knox is the father. Ashley is enraged. Knox makes it clear that the last time he slept with Apple was a year ago. Then Nick (from her past life shows up) he’s upset, and wants Ashley to leave Knox. Knox makes it clear that he’s never letting Ashley go. Apple for her part believes firmly that Knox is the father of her baby. She set up a perfect plan. She had the maid at a hotel steal the condom Knox used after he slept with an actress. But…it all went wrong. The maid stole the WRONG SAMPLE! Apple isn’t pregnant with Knox’s child. Apple enraged, goes to Ashley’s home, confronts her, and pretends to fall, making a scene and accusing Ashley of pushing her and killing her baby. But Ashley never touched her. Knox puts out a statement clarifying. It contains a video showing Apples lunacy, and the fact that Ashley didn’t push her. He also makes it clear he is not the father of her baby (which she aborted) and that he’s engaged to Ashley. Ashley and Knox happily live their lives. Her father (the cheating a-hole) gets what he deserves. His company goes bankrupt! Apples homewrecker mother is arrested. She murdered Ashley’s mom, AND the mistress of her husband, Ashley’s cheating father. When Ashley is three months pregnant Apple asks to see her in prison. Ashley goes. Apple is ridiculous, crazy as ever. Tells her sister to tell the DA that she overreacted, and fabricated evidence. Ashley refuses and makes it clear that she’s pregnant, AND engaged to Knox. Apple screams, tells Ashley she doesn’t deserve everything. Ashley tells her sister, “you always wanted to be famous, now you are.” She leaves while Apple is screaming and bashing her head against the glass.
The book fast forwards. It shows that Knox, too has been reborn, or perhaps he just has memories of another life. In this life he was trapped by Ashley. She gave birth to their son, but poisoned him against Knox. Knox was miserable but stayed because of his son. Apple killed Knox’s beloved dog, and eventually she killed Knox. Knox died vowing if he got another chance he’d make her pay. He remembers seeing Ashley for the first time. Being captivated by her. He watched her warily at first because she was the evil Apple’s sister. But he learned quickly that Ashley wasn’t like Apple, AND that she hated her step sister possibly more than he did. When he had sex with her for the first time he was hooked. He knew he had to have Ashley. He is beyond happy and relieved that he got another chance at life, and love.
Ashley and Knox have two biological children, and they adopt her brother, Ethan, who is the son of her late father and his mistress (the one her stepmother murdered). When Ashley is thirty eight and Knox is fifty they find out she’s pregnant again! The book ends with a pregnant Ashley and a happy Knox seeing Ethan off on a camping trip with his friends. Life is finally good!
**THOUGHTS/OPINIONS**
This book is so good! If you like dark romance, and revenge plots, you can’t miss this duology!!! Apple is bat shyte crazy!!! The things she does to Ashley…pure evil! Ashley is amazing! It’s the perfect “ending” to Ashley’s gripping story! I’m sooooo glad I stumbled upon this duology!!!
Is this author using AI to copy another’s work? Is this duet a fan fiction of The Favor by Suzanne Wright? Is it just *inspired*?
Take a stroll with me.
Both works have highly intelligent FMCs that have made themselves integral to the MMC’s way of business. (This shouldn’t be a shocker but alas. 😬)
Both works have a wealthy, powerful MMC. Sisters in both like sleeping with taken men. Sisters both try to get with respective MMCs.
Both works’ sisters are coddled by the parents.
I think both works’ sisters have MMC systematically ruin their lives when they try to mess with the FMC. (I haven’t finished this book, WCA, yet. I’m 66% through, but I’m almost positive sure that’s where this is going because we have a mystery person also trying to ruin the sister in this duet’s life.)
Let’s look at a paragraph by paragraph comparison of this scene in this book What Comes Around as well as The Favor. It is almost word for word the same.
WCA: What Comes Around | (occurs 75% of the way in) TF: The Favor | (occurs in the prologue and later in the book).
Grouping 1 WCA: “You won’t keep her in the long run,” he said. “She’ll see who you really are eventually. Then she’ll leave you.” Knox tilted his head slightly, studying him with mild curiosity. Like the idea itself was foreign. “Now why would you think I’d let her do a thing like that?” he asked.
TF: You won’t keep her in the long-run, you know. She’ll see that I’m right about you eventually. Then she’ll leave you.” Dane tilted his head, looking at him curiously. “Now why would you think I’d let her do a thing like that?”
Grouping 2 WCA: Nick recoiled slightly. “You can’t force someone to stay with you.” “Ashley knows I’d never let her go,” he said. Nick’s expression hardened. “She’s just a possession to you,” he insisted.
TF: Owen’s head jerked back. “You can’t force someone to stay with you.” “Vienna knows I’d never let her go.” Damn, Dane was so good at acting that if he hadn’t been so clear about not wanting a real marriage, I might have believed him. “She’s just a possession to you,” Owen insisted.
Grouping 3: WCA: Knox didn’t deny it. “My most prized possession,” he said calmly. “And I have every intention of keeping her.” The certainty in his voice made my pulse stumble. “Deal with it,” Knox continued. “Accept it. Leave her alone. Get rid of whatever fantasy you’ve built in your head about a future with her. It isn’t happening.”
TF: “My most prized possession, as it happens,” said Dane. “And I have every intention of keeping her. Deal with it. Accept it. Leave her alone. Get rid of this dream you have of winning her back. It won’t happen.” “And if I don’t stay away from her?”Dane’s mouth curved into a cruel, chilling smile that almost made me shiver. “I’ll make you wish you had.
Grouping 4: WCA: Nick’s eyes flickered with something raw. “She deserves better than you,” he said quietly. “You don’t deserve her.” Knox’s gaze sharpened. “And you think you do?” Shame crossed Nick’s face, brief but unmistakable. “Maybe neither of us do,” he admitted. “But—” “There are no ‘buts,’” Knox cut in. “ You can quit banking on me messing up and losing her. I’d never let someone so important to me walk out of my life.”
TF: ”Owen’s eyes flickered. “She can do better than you. You don’t deserve her.” “And you think you do? You, who just behaved like a complete asshole, think you deserve her?”Shame flickered across my ex’s face. “Shame flickered across my ex’s face. “Maybe neither of us do. But—” “There are no ‘buts.’ You’re mistaken in thinking that you’d be married to her now if you hadn’t messed up. I’d have lured her away from you, even if it took me years. Don’t think for one moment she would be yours if A, B, or C hadn’t happened. I would have made her mine one way or another. You’d be wrong to think I don’t mean that. I’m ruthless about going after what I want. Quit banking on me fucking up and losing her the way you did. I’d never let someone so important to me walk out of my life.”
Is it conclusive? No, but I am contemplative. The writing and tone of the first book in this duet, What Goes Around, is pretty different in my opinion to this second book, What Comes Around. That only adds to my mystification. What’s going on? My dear reader, do you have the answer to my questions?
Wattpad writer, but a good one. The heroine was reborn after her family, friends and even boyfriend betrayed her in various ways. She decides to make them all pay. Starting from her sister and stepmother, she never relents. The hero was initially one of the instruments of her revenge but in the end she falls in love with him. I didn’t like that he had sex with her evil sister, but it happened way before he even met the heroine and it was just a couple of meaningless ONS. I liked how she was determined and merciless, even with her ex boyfriend. The guy was her bff brother that in her previous life dumped her and cheated on her with her sister because he thought she was having an affair with another guy. She didn’t forgive him and in her second life she didn’t want to have anything to do with him, and I appreciate this. No excused, high standard, when she called him out on the fact that when he said he’d been waiting for her he actually never stayed celibate. Wonderful. She didn’t accept his idiotic rambling that it was just physical with ow and he was always thinking about her. No, sir, not at all. If you wait for someone you really wait for them, you don’t keep playing around with every woman whenever you feel like it. She outsmarted both her sisters and evil stepmother, that were really evil, like human trafficking kind of evil. And she didn’t even spare her own father because there was nothing worthy of being spared. Loved it. So tired of heroines who always forgive people who do them all sort of wrongs just because they’re sisters, mother, brother, fathers. You fucked with me, I fuck you. Totally. I also loved the hero. Kind of obsessed with the heroine. A bit on the possessive side, but she deserves someone who was completely on her corner. So, to me it was safe and it was good. Maybe a bit long in certain parts, because I would have offed her sister much sooner than she did, but I suppose she was kind of like the cat playing with the mouse, in the end she had what she deserved, a lot of pain and humiliation.
This duet was so crazy and I had such a fun time reading it. It is so enthralling. One of my hopes for this book was to really see the h living her best “re-life” and we did, to a degree. We see her making roots, married, kids, all that good stuff but I did feel some disconnect here. Idk if it was the way it was written but I connected really well to the hs pain but not so much to her happy. I wanted to see more dates, more moments of them being together that weren’t so focused on drama. He bulldozers into her life and I liked that lot but it’s always in relation to something else, another dude wanting her or stuff the evil OW does. Would he have ever actually gone for it with the h? Would it have looked the same? I loved the scene of him snapping and the surprise virgin scene but that would that have happened without the OW sending those videos? All the j/p scenes were great though. She deserves someone who will fight for her like he did.
All in all this a super entertaining read and I did like the relationship but I just wanted a bit more.
I’m not sure I loved the twist in the end or that the H had been with the sister at all. I kind of wanted the h to have someone completely for herself that Apple did not touch. Her taking someone away from Apple didn’t hit the way some of the other revenge stuff hit.
I felt bad for Nick too. The H and h questioning him about his celibacy was weird and super unnecessary. The h showed no interest in him whenever he would try so why would he stay celibate? Even when he flat out says he wants to be with her and she says she’s not ready like how long was he supposed to wait especially when she’s showing no interest? I don’t think he did enough in general, he’s too passive but he didn’t deserve that conversation or be so dismissed. I have no clue why he never went to the police when Apple assaulted him but asking him to just sit by and wait forever is weird.
If you’re looking for an emotional rollercoaster where the thirst for revenge collides with overwhelming passion, the second installment of Thalia Nova’s duet is a must-read. The author closes Ashley Richards' story with masterly precision, delivering a character evolution rarely seen in romance—from a victim to a woman who dictates her own terms.
Why is it worth reading?
A fascinating protagonist: Ashley is "sharper and colder," and her determination to find justice is truly admirable. Her transformation is both believable and incredibly satisfying.
Knox Sinclair – the dark ideal: Knox is the definition of intensity. As a ruthless billionaire who refuses to compromise, he and Ashley create a duo charged with electrifying tension. Their relationship is a dangerous game where the stakes are constantly rising.
Revenge served cold: The motif of taking away exactly what her sister desired most adds a layer of spice to the plot, making every page a nail-biter.
Summary “What Comes Around” is more than just a dark romance; it’s a story about reclaiming control over one's own life. Thalia Nova proves that the mistakes of the past always carry a price, and love often blossoms exactly where destruction was originally planned.
Important Note: Remember, this is the conclusion of a dilogy. To fully appreciate the complexity of the intrigue, make sure to start with the first book, “What Goes Around”!
This book completes the revenge what Ashley was seeking and planning in the first book!
I loved her friend amy who supported her the most, Their friendship was very calming for me because there was someone on her side properly.
About Knox, I would like to have his POV more like dual POV kind of way but I got it why author write it that way cause she wanted to keep a mystery which I totally loved.
They both deserved each other, after suffering one life with abusive partners, not trust worthy partners, They totally deserve to be each other forever ❤️
The spice was great ❤️
I really liked their relationship dynamic 💥
I would like to read her more books in future Thanks thalia nova for writing such a revenge perfect book.
This was another nonstop read for me. The twists, manipulation, and vengeance just kept escalating, and every time I thought I understood where things were going, something else unraveled. Without giving spoilers, this story really had a butterfly effect feel to it — one decision leading to another until everything spiraled in ways no one could escape.
What I loved most was how satisfying the ending felt. In the end, everyone gets exactly what they deserve, both good and bad, and the payoff was worth the ride. I went into this with zero expectations and ended up completely blown away. Definitely one of those books that surprises you in the best way.
Part 4 (second book) - new H2 h meets H2 (boss/employee dynamic). Destroying Apple and Marissa’s reputation. Taking down their business and influence. There is k1dnapp1ng attempt and other Apple drama. In the end Marissa is exposed for multiple crimes, including murder1ng h’s real mother. Apple and Marissa both end up with life sentences. Their father cannot handle the fallout and deletes himself. h adopts her half brother (another affair baby).
