Oath Breaker

Sever the tie. Snap the leash. Break the chain.

After cleaving one of two supernatural oaths to the Devil who made him, Saer has run into countless dead ends hunting for a way to sunder the other. Disillusioned, he sinks into humanity’s hollow pleasures but at the cost of his fiery strength, vigilance…and freedom. Saer finds himself captured, forced into the very situation he’s fought to escape—bound in servitude to another. While one side of Saer shrieks for him to run, another soft, inner voice begs him to wait.

With teeth like razors and a cunning wit, Lady Eyes of the Cat aims to establish a territory with radical ideals, and so acquires—and needs—Saer to deter would-be assassins during her unwaking hours. What she doesn’t need is the distraction of his damnable smile.

Unbeknownst to Cat, the hold on her territory threatens to fracture as long as Saer’s final bond to his maker persists. Apart, they’ll never overcome the horrors of the Devil pulling all the strings. Together, they’ll grapple with painful yearning that could only lead to traumatic heartbreak. One thing is clear—they cannot have, nor bear, it all.

This sequel completely wrecked me in the best way! Saer’s journey takes a darker, more emotional turn as he continues searching for a way to break his bond with Lucifer, only to be captured and enslaved by Day Mages before becoming the bodyguard of a vampiress, Cat. For the first time in centuries, Saer begins to find stability, purpose, and the possibility of love again, but his connection to Lucifer threatens everything he’s built. Filled with grief, longing, danger, magic, heartbreak, and hope, this book expands the world beautifully while delivering an emotional rollercoaster that had me feeling everything. I love that the series gives emotional resolution without relying on cheap cliffhangers, yet still leaves you desperate for more. I’m already dying to see where Saer’s journey leads next and whether he’ll finally reunite with his siblings!

An exciting jump back into the world of demons, creatures of the night and day and a romance that spans the ages with a cliffhanger ending that has me ready for the next book!

Following after the loss at the end of the previous book, the MMC has one bond broken and is not sure how to remove the other, but spends years in the human world, wallowing in his sadness and allowing himself to live only through sin. But when he’s at his lowest, he’s captured by a mage who wants to do experiments on him and learn how to control him. Stuck in a cage with collars around his neck to control him, there’s not much he can do, but when another mage saves him, he is released but is now meant to be the vampire daughter of the mages protector. She doesn’t think she needs his protecting but throughout the years he helps her learn how to protect herself and defends her as she builds her empire, only for danger to come knocking on her door because of him.

I really enjoyed exploring the second chance nature of the MMC, and after losing everything in the past book, he learned that he needed to protect it at all costs in this book once he found something to protect again. It’s clear he’s started to care for the people around him and built a little community with the FMC which is why what happens to him next was so devastating but I’m glad he was able to eventually get what he needed and find a way to build an even better community away from both creators control. There was also plenty of tension between the MMC and FMC that built up to everything finally falling into place after loss and time apart that made it all the more satisfying. With a cliffhanger ending setting up a new potential obstacle for them, I can’t wait for the next book! My rating 4.6/5!

Oath Breaker
Sins of the Maker Book 2
By Kassidy Coursey

This is a must read series!!

Thank you Kassidy Coursey for allowing to review the ARC for my honest opinion.

This book continues to follow Saer the first demon from hell.
Saer is the demon of Pride. After Saer decided to no longer harvest souls for Lucifer, he must find a way to free himself from his maker. The second book contains a lot of time jumps as Saer roams the Earth looking for the answer as to how untether his soul from Lucifer.

Along the way he gets taken captive by a mage named Cylen. Cylen has a lot of knowledge about Saer and his abilities. He even knows Saer’s given name from Lucifer. He builds a cage and a collar that can hold Saer hostage and drain him of his powers. During transport, their crew is attacked and Saer is taken by another mage and sold to his daughter, Cat “Lady Eyes”, to serve as her bodyguard. Cat is a blood drinker. With her is where Saer finally starts to find a home again. After tragedy strikes (Cylen), Cat asks Saer to leave. He leaves, only so that he may continue to find a way to sever the bond between him and Lucifer. He also promised Lady Eyes’ dad he would find a way to terminate her contract with Lucifer. He felt like no one was safe around him as long as Lucifer was sending his minions to bring him back to hell. They are separated for many years before reuniting. When they finally reunite, two hundred years later, they finally put an end to all of years of yearning and denying their feelings for each other. I would give it a 🌶️🌶️.

There is so much more that happens in this book. It is a great read. I loved the different world built in these books. I like how different these books are in their telling of Lucifer and his demons. It is not like any other books I have read. There was a love story that didn’t blossom until the end. Your MMC and FMC were both too broken and scared from past experiences to admit their feelings. I enjoyed reading about all of the different magical creatures and their roles. You have the mages, vampires, demons, elves and dragons.
I look forward to reading the next book. I hope book 3 will include the other demons. In this book, Saer only mentions them a few times. I am interested to see how Saer and Lady Eyes story continues after the events that took place in the end.

Questions for book 3:
How will Saer and Lady Eyes adjust to their new life and their new bodies?
How far will they be able to expand the day/night neutral territory?
Will Saer use the current technology?
What else will Lucifer do to get back his first made demon?
Will the other demons play a role in their lives?
Will they believe Saer and follow him to sever their bonds with Lucifer?

After the heartbreak of the first book, watching Saer find love again was such a beautiful surprise. It isn't a replacement for what came before, either. It feels like something entirely its own, which made the romance all the more beautiful. There is a tenderness to it that somehow manages to coexist with all the darkness surrounding these characters. Both of these books offer a quiet, timeless love that is so achingly beautiful.

And somehow, Kassidy Coursey managed to make this story feel just as sweeping, complicated, and emotionally devastating as the first. One of the things I am becoming increasingly impressed by with this author is the way she plays with expansion of her stories. I keep going into these books thinking I have a pretty good idea of what kind of story I'm getting, only for it to expand into something so much bigger. The stories feel almost deceptively contained at first, then suddenly you're looking at this much larger world with layers and connections I never saw coming. They keep unfolding and revealing more depth, more history, and more possibilities.

I really love how the books in this series manage to stand on their own. Obviously, they're connected and there are threads carrying forward, but each one feels like a complete story contained within its own pages. The endings give you a sense of closure while still leaving enough unanswered that you know there is more to come. That balance is so difficult to pull off, and I think Coursey does it exceptionally well.

Another beautiful, heartbreaking love story from an author who has quickly become one of my favorites. I genuinely cannot wait to see what comes next.

Thank you to the amazing author for the complimentary copy. This review is voluntary and all opinions are my own.

Thank you to The Nerd Fam for this ARC of Oath Breaker. After finishing Fallen’s First, I was desperate to jump back into Saer’s journey, and this sequel delivered a completely different emotional tone while still expanding the world in incredible ways.

We pick up with Saer decades into his search for a way to break his bond to Lucifer. He’s stopped harvesting souls, refuses to take his demon form, and has no intention of ever returning to Hell. He drifts from place to place, looking for answers—until exhaustion finally wins. He settles in one location, lets his demon abilities fall quiet, drinks, tries to forget, and simply exists for a while. That’s where we find him at the beginning of this story: weighed down by trauma, grief, and the lingering ache of Neyu’s loss.

And then everything goes wrong again.

With his guard down, Saer becomes vulnerable enough to be attacked and enslaved by Day Mages. They suppress his abilities even further, cage him, and sell him to a vampiress as a bodyguard. With nowhere else to go in his long existence, he takes the job—and a new oath—to Lady Eyes, also known as Cat. For the first time in ages, Saer begins to find something like home. Stability. Purpose. Even the possibility of a second chance at love.

But his bond to Lucifer is still there, still dangerous, and capable of destroying everything he touches. And eventually, that danger finds Cat, their household, and the fragile life Saer has built. He’s forced into a brutal reality check and must resume his quest to break his bond—no matter how impossible it seems. And now there’s a new urgency: saving Cat’s soul. As a vampiress, she is tied to Lucifer just as tightly as Saer is. They both have their own chains to break before they can truly be together… if they can be together at all, even if it takes centuries.

This book wrecked me emotionally. The tone is heavier than the first, steeped in grief, longing, and the slow rebuilding of hope. But it’s still a rollercoaster—full of danger, magic, heartbreak, and the relentless pull of destiny. I loved it deeply, even when I hated what Saer and Cat had to endure.

One of my favorite things about this series is that it doesn’t rely on cheap cliffhangers. Each book ends in a place of emotional resolution while still leaving you hungry for more. And now we’re fully in modern civilization—airplanes, cell phones, Wi‑Fi—yet the centuries of lore still feel present and alive.

It’s been a hard‑fought journey so far, and I’m eager to see where Saer goes next. My biggest lingering question: will he ever see his brothers and sisters again? I need that reunion as much as he does.

Where do I even begin to explain my feelings on this book? There aren't enough words in the English language, or any language really, to express what this book and these characters mean to me.

This story picks up several decades after the end of "Fallen's First," as Saer follows lead after lead attempting to sever the second link of his connection with Lucifer. Through a series of bad decisions, and a little too much alcohol, Saer winds up exactly where he doesn't want to be - locked up and at the mercy of a mad Mage. Eventually he's acquired by Lady Eyes of the Cat, our FMC, and once again finds himself bound in service to another.

Lady Eyes is a cunning and witty character who dreams of establishing a community formed by radical ideas. Her purchase of Saer is meant to deter those individuals who oppose her plans and seek to destroy her. She intends for him to simply be a bodyguard - what she doesn't intent to do is fall for him.

What follows is literally centuries of the most agonizing slow burn, yearning, and tension I've ever read. I really cannot overstate the amount of YEARNING these characters experience. It's absolutely delicious!

Throughout the story, Saer evolves into one of my favorite MMCs, leaving behind (most) of his grumpy, irritable self. He still has his moments though, because he won't be the Pride we know and love without him being a little sulky! Cat is funny and opinionated and is fully prepared to go toe-to-toe with Saer at every turn. Her back-and-forth banter with Saer is top-tier. The narrative arc and plot development are fantastic.

If I thought I was obnoxious about "Fallen's First," I'm about to be truly unbearable about "Oath Breaker!"

Infinity stars!! I will recommend this series to anyone that I talk to and not be even slightly ashamed of myself.

Alright here we go I have A LOT TO SAY

Oath Breaker was highly anticipated after reading Fallen’s First last year. For book 1, think Shield of Sparrows book 2 pacing-type vibes (so you’ll either love it or loathe it, I personally eat that ish UPPPPP)? Lots of adventure and action spanning over HELLA centuries. Much plot.

Oath Breaker was even MORE like that. Idk how much more you can get like that but it’s so different from what I’ve read that I just… can’t explain it. And I don’t mean plot. I mean pacing and such.

Saer goes through it. This poor mf man (guy… demon… thing) truly gets the shit end of the stick 24/7 and it’s all because of his shithead daddy. Honestly same bro. Felt.

And this new character, Cat, was INTRIGUING. I was interested the minute she wiped this dirty little (big) demon down. Count me in, Lady 👀

The banter? You get a whole 90% of slow burn and banter (this was flirting okay it was all flirting and tension)!!! He said one night? I gotchu. I’ll make it good.

There was one little TINY thing missing and I know for a fact it was on purpose because miss Coursey is smart and is going to rawdog me in a later book.
WHERE MY OTHER BABIES AT 😭 my twinsssss I’m too attached to the other sins, man every other chapter I was waiting for one of them to pop out like GOTCHA🧍🏻‍♂️

Anyway, this was just an emotional adventure rollercoaster if you like that kind of ride. Just put your seatbelt on because I know for sure it’s gonna get bumpier. Damnit.

Overall
4.5 ⭐️

Not me just hyperventilating at 11:08pm because I finally finished the ARC of Oath Breaker, and I need book 3.

How can it end like this?!

Kassidy, we need to chat.
This book was... i dont even know how to put it into words. It was .... ugh....consuming.... deliciously frustrating....and utterly perfect.

Okay. -I know i am chaotic at this point, but what do you expect after this?

Thoughts during this book were...man, this book spans a LONG time, but....i mean, obviously. They are immortal, but it never felt like it was dragging.

The slow burn was soooo worth the wait. I think that was the best spicy scene I have EVER read in a book, and none of it felt unnecessary. Ugh, I love them so much.

Also, my heart broke so many times, and I giggled multiple times...

Some favorite highlights:

❤️‍🔥"Moving on doesn’t have to mean letting go."

❤️‍🔥 “Look at that. Old brute remembered how to smile.”

❤️‍🔥 "Just you. And just me.”

❤️‍🔥 "Trust your instincts. Be truthful. Be confident. Hello, Eli.”

❤️‍🔥 "EVERYTHING. That’s what he owed her, what he’d promised her, and what he intended to give her. It was also what it meant to have her sitting across from him, in his home. Everything."

❤️‍🔥 "How you manage to piss me off and make me miss you harder than before is a talent very specific to you."

And so many more....but they are spoilery

Hellfire, Kassidy Coursey- that ending did me dirty. Please send over book 3 immediately, please and thank you.

Demons. Magic. Lucifer. Elves. YEARNING THAT SPANS OVER 200 LITERAL YEARS- I kid you not, Romeo and Juliet have absolutely nothing on Cat and Saer. These two are the definition of "if you love something, let it go... And if it's meant to be, it'll come back"- except neither of them are admitting to the love part and both have a little bit of baggage when it comes to their last relationship- we all know what it's like to wait for a text back but these guys really took it to the next level.

The banter in this book was top tier, I felt like I was flirting with both Cat and Saer simultaneously when I was reading their coin messages - I also live to be as petty as Saer with Peter's cupboards... But what is most noticeable is that the more time Saer spends amongst the humans... The more he feels more than just pride. He. Is. More.

This book has ruined my future relationships. Screw traditional texting, if he isn't carving his message into ice using the magic of a coin that hurts him, I'm not interested.

I have felt so many emotions reading this book and was ugly crying in my bed from chapter 20 onwards and then the ending really did me in - the diagnosis? I NEED BOOK THREE.

Once again I will say Sins of the Maker is a series worth reading. I was captivated and am already eagerly wondering what will happen in book 3.

Oath Breaker picks up with Saer’s journey again and man that emotional rollercoaster was wild.
I love my hurt/comfort, trauma representation and Kassidy Coursey knows how to make you feel all those emotions over the span of one book. I have to admit I am someone who does get attached to characters so I feel with them too… and feeling I did!🥺
Saer is becoming one of my favourite characters! He has been through so much already. No he is not perfect and thankfully so. He is still on a journey of self discovery, searching for the meaning of things and it makes him relatable. We get to experience pain, grief, heartache, danger, growth and healing.
I really enjoyed our FMC too!! Oh the tension and banter was something 🤭 And the fact it was slow burn, yesss!!
I also want to point out the world-building again which was expanded here and I was excited whenever we got something new again!

Trying to keep this review spoiler free is so hard but I really think you should go into this story without knowing what will happen as the surprise will be even better!

Kassidy Coursey, I can’t wait to read more of your work and want to thank you for the review copy.💕

Okay, this book really put me through it. 😭
After everything that happened in the previous book, I was so curious to see where his story would go, and Oath Breaker takes him through some seriously dark places before giving him something worth fighting for again.
I really loved the way his character developed throughout this one. He starts off completely broken after losing so much, essentially existing rather than actually living, and then circumstances force him into a completely different life. Being captured was brutal, especially seeing how powerless he was, but I loved watching that gradual change once he had someone and something to protect.

…then there’s the FMC….I really enjoyed their dynamic because she isn't some helpless character waiting for him to save her. Cat wants to be capable of protecting herself, and while Saer is there to protect her, he also helps her become stronger in her own right. Their relationship has that slow-building tension where you can feel everything simmering underneath the surface!!

There are plenty of demons, dragons, vampires, magic, betrayal and enough emotional damage to keep things interesting, but for me the heart of this book was really his journey from having nothing left to finding something worth fighting for again.

Definitely invested in this series and very ready for the next book!

“Command me as you will. My strength, my protection, and my loyalty are yours.”

This book follows Saer, the First of the Daemoenica as he navigates a world of magic, betrayal and forbidden desire. After severing one of the two metaphysical tethers bindingh im to his maker, Saer is determind to break the final bond and reclaim his freedom. However this quest takes a unexpected turn when he is captured by a group of light mages and sold to Lady Eyes of the Cat, a young ambitious vampiress that works on building her own territory.
This is the second book in the Sins of the Maker series, and while the first book completely took me by surprise in it's brilliantness, this time I knew I was in for a good time. Kassidy did not disappoint. This book was brilliant.
Both Saer as Lady Eyes are wonderful characters. They are well thought and developed, both easy to root for.
The base for the world building of this book was already set in the first book, but was excellent continued in this book. The magical system, politics and the dark tones, I eat it up.
This book is an excellent mix of dark fantasy, political intrigue and slow burn romance. Talking about the slow burn, I screamed, I yelled, I begged. The moment they finally indulged was fantastic, deeply satisfying.
Saer and Lady Eyes journey is full of tension, heartfelt moments and high stakes, making this a must-read for fans of dark fantasy romances.

ARC Review ‘Oathbreaker’

Woooh what an amazing second book! I devoured this one even more.

Saer, finally free, is seeking to break the last connection to Lucifer, but he gets caught by Lady Cat eyes, in more ways than one. 🫣🫣

The building of mutual yearning, is a feast to read about!
There is a point where they get separated due to Saer’s mission which keeps them longer apart than they wish. But all for the right reasons.

Alliances are made, which makes this story take a cool subplot.
When then finally meet again, even their first interaction is 🤤
The buildup of their admission to their 🌶️, for a lack of better word, hellsfire!
THAT was deliciously written. Ahh the yearning! All the feels!
Imagine a deep voice like Saer growling and the book gives us a delicious insight step by step of their being one🌶️🤤

Again, the plot of this story evolves and will make you crave for more.
There will be a period which surrounds Cat and it kept me glued to the pages!!!
Oh man my heart is full!

That cliffhanger??? Mannnnn I knew there was more to that rat!!!
I cannot wait for the next installment

I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

The first demon Saer becomes enslaved to a vampiress named Lady Eyes, and as they fall for each other, Saer begins a journey to break his bond with Lucifer and save Lady Eyes from her vampire curse.

This was such a sweet romance and the banter between Lady Eyes and Saer was top notch. I loved the idea that all the supernatural creatures worked under one of the angels or The Grandfather. And if you changed “ownership”, you changed your species.

I enjoyed the cast of characters and found myself upset as time passed and I had to say goodbye to those who were mortal. One of the downsides of following immortal leads.

I loved Lady Eyes’ progression from a fairly naïve leader of her colony to a competent, experienced ruler who had seen a lot of pain. I also liked the way Saer gradually became less arrogant over the course of the story. Although, he’ll always make me smile with his internal quips and critical observations of those around him.

Overall, I found this a riveting read and a great sequel to Fallen’s First.

Thank you to the author for a gifted copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Oath Breaker is book 2 of the Sins of the Maker series and let me tell you – I thought I LOVED book 1, and I don’t know how it is possible, but I LOVE book 2 even more! So much so I had to instantly reach out to the author and tell her so. I was so curious to know if she knew all along if this was how she wanted book 2 to go. It is just so perfect and interweaves so flawlessly. There were some easter eggs in book 1 I had forgotten about, but once she reminded me the light bulb went off. I LOVE IT! You can feel ALL the emotion poured into these books and I love these characters so much. My gosh I have nothing but amazing things to say about this series. I personally love the author’s writing and I’m so excited to see what she has in store next for book 3.

If you love dark fantasy romance… with a demon, dual POV, “Mine,” Beauty and the Beast turned upside down and inside out, Vampires, the Devil is hat and more unhinged, forced proximity, shadow magic, he controls pride and lust, second chance, dragons, slow burn, and *passing notes* then this is for you.

So, we’re back with our favorite demon of all, Pride. Kassidy jumps right out of the gate pulling our heartstrings, and she never let go of them....for the entire book. Our boy finds himself in a little bit of a pickle, and let me tell you, the inner monologue for the first part of this story is absolute GOLD! My favorite: “This woman is a lunatic.” I was cackling soooo much.

A lot of the heavy topics from book 1, Fallen’s First, carry over to this book. Prejudices, war, demons against mages, demons against....DRAGONS??? The war of the fathers continue. and now we enter servitude/removal of personal choice. And there we have one of the biggest driving forces for Saer: his tether to his Father. In his quest to rid himself of this unwanted tether, we get to meet the ever so sassy and formidable Lady Eyes of the Cat. And oh man, she is the FMC we never knew we needed. The journey of self discovery and healing is powerful in this story. So many twists and turns, happy and sad moments, laughter and even a few tears will keep you turning the pages to get to the end. Buckle up, because that ending!? Book 3 better be right around corner!!

Book 2 in the Sins of the Maker series
Following the conclusion of Fallen’s First, Saer has just broken one of two oaths that tether him to Lucifer. He seeks to break the remaining oath in an attempt to free himself from his maker. Unable to find a solution, he becomes disillusioned, and inadvertently finds himself captured and forced into servitude of another. Despite having lost his mate, he finds that he yearns for the love of Lady Eyes of the Cat, his new master, and finds a renewed desire to sever his bond to Lucifer.
Having developed the world in the previous book, this one allows for further development of the storyline, and the introduction of additional characters. There is so much more emotionally with broken individuals and their opportunity at second chance love. You’ll find more pain, grief, heartache, tension, growth, love, danger, magic. And the ending sets it up nicely for the anticipation of book 3. This book lived rent free in my mind for quite awhile afterwards.

Hi! I'm Kassidy, and I wrote this book.

While Fallen's First took me 20+ years from the first infantile mashes of a keyboard until publication, Oath Breaker was something different and special on its own. Oath Breaker flew out of me over the course of nine months (so fast for me, you have no idea), and I always joke that it's my perfect child. Walked on day 1. Spoke to strangers with excellent manners. Always ate their vegetables.

The exciting thing for me about Oath Breaker is getting to see Saer really discover who he is after turning against Lucifer. The struggle, the heartache, the coming-to-terms with grief, the push and the pull—that's what drives me, and I hope entices you, dear reader. Authors will often say they have a book of their heart and, well, this is mine.

I can't wait to hear what you have to say, and I'm so eager to complete this trilogy! Book 3 is done and I am in the state of revising, so be on the lookout for it come March 2027!

Until then,
✨Remain curious and clever✨

ARC review. Rating 3.5

I LOVED fallen's first and was very excited to read this one. Unfortunately I did not connect well with the pairing. Towards the end Lady Eyes started getting an interesting story. And where both she and Saer (as individuals) were left shows a promising future for book 3. However I really could not connect to them as a couple. I felt Saer's personality had changed a lot from the first book or atleast after he meets Lady Eyes. I really tried to love them but what was many many many years for them was only a week for me. So perhaps I should've just taken it slower to really get into the yearning with them.

A big miss for me was the lack of the siblings in this book. I got very attached to them in the first one and was sad to find out they weren't in this.

What I loved is that we get to see more of the different creatures walking this Earth. While mainly focused on vampires (Lady Eyes), we also learn about elves and mages. This gets especially interesting towards the end.

Saer is back as our demonic MMC.
We have a new FMC, Cat, a strong willed woman with the banter to back it, whose only weakness appears to be Saer’s devilishly good looks and awkward charm. See what I did there?

He wants her and she needs him, but with Lucifer himself watching this unfold like big brother, will they be able to last? Will Saer learn from past mistakes?

One of the things that I loved most about this book is that it had the same vibes as the first book, but kicked up a notch. The story continues, but with enough new characters and new environments that it was just as refreshing as the first book . Yet, the author was brilliantly able to continue Saer’s growth from Fallen’s First, seamlessly, which allowed for the reader never forget where we started and appreciate even more where he is now. If you want more of our favorite demon and his prideful character, with a new love interest, and oh the banter… this is the book for you.

Oath Breaker turned out to be everything I wanted and more, especially after reading the first book. Kassidy Coursey has expanded and improved this world by increasing the stakes and enriching a fascinating plot about supernatural problems and challenging choices.

The thing I enjoyed the most was Saer’s journey in this book. It was so rewarding to watch Saer slowly create a relationship with Cat after everything he went through in the first book with Neyu. The two have witty banter, unmistakable chemistry, and dramatic tension in their relationship, which makes it enjoyable to read about them.

World-building is perfect and full of new challenges and discoveries. The author continues to amaze me with the progress of events she describes. I was entertained from the beginning till the end of this book.

And that ending… I was not ready for it at all. I need book 3 ASAP!!

Saer’s heart is utterly broken by Neyu’s loss. He’s meant to be trying to sever his tie to his creator Lucifer, instead he’s drinking his way in a tavern. That is until a mage collars him, he’s trapped and his magic stripped. With seemingly no where to go the least he expects is a vampire to purchase him, one whom he must now protect. What’s worse is just as things look good, a catastrophic event leads Saer back on his search to sever those ties, whilst Cat must face her own struggles.
This book felt so different from the previous and I was all here for it. The tension is so intense, the notes were an absolute highlight. It’s deep yearning, grief and insane twists. With time moving so quickly I’m intrigued what the next book will bring.

Thank you Nerd Fam for the ARC!

Ugh, this book was so good. The prose, the slow burn, the character development, the prose again--I LOVED this. We go from losing everything in the first book to learning how to protect it and what's worth standing up and fighting for in this one.

I cannot stress enough how BEAUTIFUL this story is. Everything about it just feels like a warm hug (okay, maybe not ALL of it, but you get the point). If you loved the first book, you're going to love this one.

My only complaint, as with the first book, is that I think it was a little longer than it needed to be, which caused parts to drag a bit and there are sections I feel as though we got caught up in the descriptions and prose and didn't know how to get back to the story for a bit.

But did I also eat this up. AB. SO. LUTELY.

4.75⭐ 2🌶️

Saer's journey continues in the most roller coaster way. It will take more than his own strength to break the oath with Lucifer and find a future he can look forward to.

I could not put this book down! Read in one sitting and just kept flipping the pages as I needed to know what was going to happen next.

This is a must read for lovers of angels and demons stories, love urban type fantasy (in this world but with more), and enjoys a plot first romance with slow burn. Kassidy brings the characters to life in a way that you feel what they are feeling as you flip through the pages.

📚 A sequel that is even better than the first book📚

I just finished Oath Breaker by Kassidy Coursey and I do not know what to do now. I think I enjoyed the second book in the sins of the maker trilogy even more than the first. My attention was grabbed and stayed grabbed for the entire book. It's not very often I can say I literally did not expect or predict anything that happened in this book. I also really enjoyed the slow burning tension between the mmc and fmc. A perfect second chance romance. The last chapter made me so curious for the next book, I need it now.

Thankyou so much to Kassidy Coursey and the Nerd Fam for the arc in exchange for an honest review!

I loved continuing Saer's story. Watching him trying to break his bond from Lucifer was such an interesting read. Then being taken captive by a mage, youre constantly thinking, what else can you go through?

I'd love to see him, discover love on a whole new level. It's not like the love he lost. It's something completely different, but something so worthy.

I thought that the first book took me on an emotional roller coaster buy this one just continues that pain and agony yet, intertwines it with moments of joy and happiness.

Kassidy Coursey has developed a story that will definitely pull on your heart strings and yet leaves you longing for more.

I give this four out of five stars.

This book will keep you on your toes as it continues to follow Saer and Lady Eyes on their journey to free themselves from Lucifer. We get to watch as their love for each other grows stronger even if there is time and distance between them. I love how they continue to fight and neither of them give up on one another or the end goal. So much happens throughout this story and it keeps you wanting more. I wish I had the third book already because this cliffhanger has me stressed about what is going to happen next! I would recommend this book to anyone who is into paranormal romance and fantasy. It will get you out of a reading slump and is an entertaining read.

Had the pleasure of reading this as a beta reader, and then again as an ARC reader! Here is my official blurb:

Settle in for a bloody, fiery ride! The second installment in Coursey’s Sins of the Maker trilogy delivers so much more of the Pride demon we love, a passionate, strong heroine, a sexy slow-burn romance spanning centuries, and a colorful cast of supporting characters who you’ll love and hate. With lyrical pose, witty banter, and a seductive deep dive into the world of humans, vampires, demons, and more, this is one sequel you won’t want to miss.

This is an absolutely breathtaking sequel!! Built on the incredible foundation of the first book, this story takes some wild, unexpected turns that I did not see coming! Delicious morsels of information are sprinkled throughout, lending intrigue that does not disappoint. I gotta say, I fell in love with Lady Eyes and am so glad she's on the scene. I will be reading this book again!
