The First Gambit
The First Gambit is the first short story in a line of short stories that will collectively be known as Tales from Wheat Hollow. Each story will build a tale of the place, the locations, the settings and the history of the Realm. And through them you’ll discover a wondrous land.
The First Gambit introduces us to a wandering gambler. He’s a skilled player of the card game, Gambit, a gambling game played throughout the Realm. During a chance encounter in an out of the way tavern he hears of something that feeds his baser instincts. He decides to investigate and finds his greed an interesting obstacle to overcome.
