What a fun read! Lovers of Battle Mage Farmer are going to love these vibes. Also, where can I get my own Amber!

Fun, Lighthearted, and an enjoyable read.
Yep, you guessed it! This was a fun book with some humor, an MC who doesn't take himself too seriously while also being a nascent bad***, and a really fun turn around in how characters perceived him. Love the system/cultivation mix and how it doesn't fit into he magic system of the world he's in, which makes for some fun times. Really looking. Forward to more of these! Seth never dissapoints!

It's ok. Basically – what if Mashle was a litrpg book.
But the mc is wearing such a think plot armor that even the author points that out in the middle of the book. While the book tries to build up for the big stakes for the end of the book, the mc is so confident and everything just goes so well for him, that there are no stakes - any problem will get resolved within 2 pages. It's a fun read, but I don't think I'll be interested in the 2nd book.

Very likeable book, a reasonable MC with a system of power diametrically opposed to the world that he is in. Of course it’s an isekai trope so no surprise that the MC has mannerisms that are odd to the natives of the planet, but regardless it didn’t feel forced. It was a pleasant ride how invested I got into this book, especially because the world building kept getting bigger and bigger (with regards to both the power levels and the hidden realms). Overall a solid 4.3/5.

Seth knows how to start a story. This one has all the usual elements; fast power-ups, the need to hide a deadly secret, corrupt officials, interesting magic.
I'd have rated it five stars if the protagonist, unoriginally named Magnus, was a little more likeable. While not quite arrogant, he's blessed with perfect looks and is a genius. At no point does he evince an ounce of doubt or regret. It's a little sickening really.
On the whole, this is a fun read. I'd have continued onward regardless, but there are so many loose ends as to make that mandatory.

I'm a little conflicted. There are elements I quite liked: the setting, the magic system with its soul contracts, and even the circumstances that lead to our MC finding himself there and how he encounters a System and is given an unusual cultivation method.
What frustrated me was the constant tonal whiplash between serious storytelling and juvenile silliness. It's jarring to go from a normal tone to suddenly having a System that talks like it has no idea how it works or encountering a flying pig that wants to eat everything. It's like reaching the big reveal at the end of The Empire Strikes Back and having Darth Vader pull out a teddy bear and telling Luke that it was his favourite toy as a baby. It ruins the flow of the story for me. If you want to do Star Wars, then do Star Wars. You want to do Spaceballs, then do Spaceballs. Pick a lane.
I hope the next book strikes a more consistent tone.

I am totally in my litrpg era and the description of this book really pulled me in, so I figured why not try it? I am glad because this world was so unique and filled with brimming magic and epic adventures. It took me a moment to get my bearings and settle in with the new characters. But once I did, I was hooked! The magic in this world is also really cool; I liked how the level systems and skills were described and utilized. The way the author depicted battles was pretty easy to follow along with as well, which I definitely appreciate. The main critic would be the pacing. I think the mix of plot and world building collided a bit and made the general storyline a bit muddled. Once we knew the main end goal, the side quests made sense, it just took a hot minute to get there. But hey, I was along for the ride!
Magnus IS the world. He is so sharp, witty and entertaining. I wish we could all be like Magnus to some degrees. He was always one step ahead and if he wasnt, he was figuring out how to be. He never let a roadblock push him off course. He merely found a different route. I definitely spent too much time grinning like an idiot whenever Magnus did something magnificence.
Definitely big shoutout to the side characters in this book. They did not feel like NPC or any of that, they blended seamlessly into the story and the way they engaged with Magnus and others helped with the overall flow and dynamic. It took me a second to catalog them all but once I understood who was who, it was a breeze. Also I wish there had been a longer courtship period between two characters. ALSO, I fluffing LOVE Amber. She is the next Brixby. If I continue the series, I am most interested to see how she impacts the world.
So overall, this was a unique and vibrant litrpg progressive adventure fantasy with witty characters, cool magic and a steady storyline. I believe book 2 is already out in paperback form if you guys want to continue the series. Remember this is all my opinion, if you want your own read or listen to the book!

A very good addition to the genre. There are Isekai elements, magic elements, cultivation elements. Guy dies on earth and it transported to the body of another person on a different planet. The magician's name was Magnus, and he tried to bond to a magical creature, and something went wrong. His soul cracked. Now the guy from earth and Magnus have a melded soul, the guy from earth can't even remember his old name. He has memories from both worlds. He is excited to be in a world of magic; he loved fantasy novels. There is only one problem. You need an intact soul to do magic and his is cracked. Instead, he gets access to a system and ends up with a cultivation body. He picks skills that he can hide and pretend to be magic.
This is a good premise. There are the many elements, and they all make sense in the context of the story. For whatever reason, reputation points are needed for Magnus to buy new skills. So, he starts acting like the eccentric mage to gain points. He makes cheeky comments and does some outlandish things but there is an underlying reason. Some other books in the same genre have the MC act that way but it doesn't make sense in the context of the story. Magnus is both OP at times but has a lot of problems dealing with people more powerful than he is. It has that perfect balance where you are never really that worried for the MC, but he also isn't so OP that everything is easy. There are training montages where you feel like the MC earned his power. Overall, a very good addition to the genre, looking forward to the next one.

Seth Ring, you’ve truly outdone yourself with this one! (Also, thank god you didn’t go with Aethon for this series)
I don’t want to give out even a hint of a spoiler for this so I will keep it my review outside of the storyline itself. First, I had no doubt that this book was going to be great when I saw its reviews but put off starting the series when I saw that it would be another year until book 2 would come out. Even going as far as considering never starting it at all (the better the series is, the more intolerable a long release cycle is, and one year is not worth it) but thank god I noticed that changed. Here’s to hoping Sir Seth realized that mistake, I can’t help but wonder how many people took a look at that and made the same choice I did but never noticed the release date of book 2 got moved up 🤷♂️. Lastly, I would like to thank Sir Seth for not choosing Aethon as the publisher for this series as they are ruining the audible experience for listeners with artificially holding back releases in a manner that feels genuinely dirty. I would not have given this series a chance had I saw that disgusting red stain in the top corner of the title (don’t worry your other titles are already grand fathered into my wallet and won’t be affected, but I will not be starting new series from that publisher anymore, not unless I see much improvement).

Ohhhh myyy! This. Book is. Friggintastic! Wouldn't you know it, when you grab a book by Seth Ring you're gonna have a good time! Plus I love, Love, LOVE stories with Beast Companions. In this book Magnus didn’t mean to die at his birthday party, but what happened, happened. His soul transported into a new life, falling into a body that lived in a world where magic, monsters, and mana reign Supreme. Only there's a problem Magnus discovers that his soul had been shattered, unable to use mana and the only thing holding him together is the new bond connection to his soul bound beast... an egg! He doesn't even know what gonna hatch. But will this egg be strong enough to help him adjust to his new life? Only time will tell. And time is definitely not on his side!!! As Magnus 1.0 had foolishly challenged a neighboring tower to war, before he tried bonding to the beast... which killed him! It’s a very civilized war, meticulously planned, and supervised. With adherence to the rules. Magnus 2.0 now residing in the body only has one month to prepare before the towers fight! Come to think of it, it's even a wee bit Cozy.
So grab the book, it's AwesomeSauce! And if you're like me you're definitely gonna want the next action-packed adventure when Seth Ring finishes it!

Seth Ring is a competent writer, and I don't think he has written a bad book yet (or at least I haven't read one). But this is close to it.
You know that feeling when you're reading a story that feels like a first draft? Where plots go nowhere, things are built up and never paid off, characters aren't consistent, that kind of thing. This book feels like reading a second draft. Where most of the problems of the first draft have been fixed, but it still feels incomplete and off kilter.
The story is really repetitive with probably a solid 60% just being Magnus powering up, often in the exact same way just in different locations. And most of the remaining 40% being a mixture of explaining his training, explaining his powers, and him planning his training and how to use his powers. A competent editor could cut this book in half and lose nothing in just a couple workweeks.
I'm not sure if I would recommend this book, it will depend on the quality of the next book(s) which I have yet to read. I could see this as an awkward start to a decent series, but I can also see this as a meandering mess that goes nowhere.

I came across this Fantasy LitRPG story on a whim. Honestly, I jumped on it because the cover caught my attention. A world of magic with a body builder flexing his biceps!?! It just sounded interesting enough to jump in and devour it.
Again, I came into the story not knowing what to expect. Author Seth Ring slapped my face with an engaging and entertaining story from the beginning. Not sure WHAT exactly hooked me, but I was caught from the get-go. Magnus, our protagonist, keeps things moving. The story develops as Magnus progresses. He slows; the story slows to fill in with key details. Magnus pushes forward; the story pace matches him. The introduction of the "beasts" in the story is a key part that have not been detailed much, but I'm guessing that part of the story is coming soon. Overall, the story had a good flow, no over thinking required. The side characters and perceived bad guys are developed enough to keep you engaged.
Plus, the mystery of Amber is enough to keep you engaged and wanting more. Gave it the high rating because it all worked for me! Can't wait for the next volume.

I wasn’t so sure about this ‘cause it started off like every other LitRPG I’ve read (and didn’t enjoy), but I later got a bit invested.
It lowkey gave me Kenny King vibes at first lol.
The leveling through reputation points was such an interesting take.
I also enjoy an animal familiar, and Amber is such a cutie 🐷 lol!! I usually have an issue when it feels like the MMC is just handed everything, and becomes OP. But I feel like he had a fair share of trials so far… I’m hoping to see even more higher stakes.
Story wise, I’m vibing w/ the political intrigue aspect. Especially w/ all the ranks, and different towers.
I can also see the potential in the romance, which is kinda rare in this genre.
Charlotte’s “I will burn everything for him” energy is something that will have me in a chokehold, so I’m curious to see how everything evolves.

This is another solid litRPG by Seth Ring! The man genuinely excels at trope recombination—taking familiar ideas and assembling them in ways that feel fresh and engaging.
In this one, we have a man isekai’d into the body of a mage. Except, instead of receiving, y’know, a mage system, Magnus is given a cultivation system. So what do you do? Well, if you’re our MC, you try disguising martial arts and cultivation techniques as magic.
The progression system is a standout! Skills don’t come from training and experience, but from reputation points you spend to unlock abilities. Does it necessarily need to be a good reputation? Nope. Our boy just needs to get noticed. Let the aura-farming commence!
The mage tower structure was also really engaging. The premise isn’t entirely new, but it’s super well executed!
Other highlights include the romance, which was surprisingly compelling. So, our female lead likes the mage before Magnus is isekai’d in. But mage? Mage is an asshole. So she holds herself back, because, obviously. But after Magnus arrives, she’s drawn to the mage again. It’s interesting because Magnus was a rockstar back on Earth, so he’s already kind of dick-coded, but the merging of personalities somehow softens him? It’s like double negative = a positive? Double asshole tendencies = somewhat decent guy? Obviously, she’s suspicious of this new behavior, but the attraction is strong. I loved it!
Okay, but the best part of the story? (Or any story, for that matter.) The animal companion! I LOVE-love an animal companion, and Amber, our winged-treasure pig, is, well, a treasure.
Audio-Specific 🎧: 12 hours, 30 minutes. J. S. Arquin gave a solid performance overall, though there were a few instances where words seemed slightly off. (The spoken word sounded similar to the actual word, but not quite.) I was unclear if it was a text issue or a delivery issue. (Strangely, this has happened in back-to-back audiobooks, though with a different narrator.) 1.5x is just a little bit too fast. I’d recommend 1.3x as a comfortable spot.

Other highlights include the romance, which was surprisingly compelling. So, our female lead likes the mage before Magnus is isekai’d in. But mage? Mage is an asshole. So she holds herself back, because, obviously. But after Magnus arrives, she’s drawn to the mage again. It’s interesting because Magnus was a rockstar back on Earth, so he’s already kind of dick-coded, but the merging of personalities somehow softens him? It’s like double negative = a positive? Double asshole tendencies = somewhat decent guy? Obviously, she’s suspicious of this new behavior, but the attraction is strong. I loved it!
Okay, but the best part of the story? (Or any story, for that matter.) The animal companion! I LOVE-love an animal companion, and Amber, our winged-treasure pig, is, well, a treasure.
Audio-Specific 🎧: 12 hours, 30 minutes. J. S. Arquin gave a solid performance overall, though there were a few instances where words seemed slightly off. (The spoken word sounded similar to the actual word, but not quite.) I was unclear if it was a text issue or a delivery issue. (Strangely, this has happened in back-to-back audiobooks, though with a different narrator.) 1.5x is just a little bit too fast. I’d recommend 1.3x as a comfortable spot.

This was actually pretty good in my opinion. It’s very slow paced and something mentioned at the beginning of the book and through out all of it practically took the entire book before it even happened. I’m not against this if it means the rest of the books will have the same pacing and we’ll get a long series out of it. I’d hate for the author to start rushing for an ending after 3-4 books. All in all an amazing spin on cultivation and these new story structures of martial artists fighting monsters and mages is quite refreshing. Only complaint is that he only mentioned his abs to the two people at the beginning and his girlfriend. It’d have been great if he walked around in public with his open mage robe without a shirt (or atleast a super tight one) farming reputation. I means he’s “A young eccentric tower master, with great abs” isn’t he?

good light book
The book was fun, super light with a good plot. The characters were a little one dimensional especially at the beginning and not necessarily anyone you’d fall in love with. I almost stopped reading tbh, but the plot is good enough and although im still not invested in the characters, by the end you like them enough. Surprisingly the dialogue was pretty great. Most books in this category have some book ruining dialogues, but this one was pretty funny, as I said before the book is pretty light and the author will use some pretty serious plot armor but he even jokes about it with the characters in a way I actually enjoyed. If you love fiction/fantasy and need a good palate cleanser between big heavy books this is a great couple day read. I’ll be reading the sequels.

I did enjoy the light tone, but overall it was decidedly mediocre. The plot wasn't very coherent - why did he get transferred to a new world? What happened to the original Magnus? Why is everyone so interested in him? - and the writing is uneven. A few times he'd say something and a paragraph or so later casually say the opposite. Also, and quite importantly, why is there the same huge picture at the start of every chapter? A small pig flying over a giant splotch. Not to be cynical, but it does add 23 pages (half a page per chapter) and so I'm wondering if it's some new padding idea. But why bother? Anyway, definitely enjoyable in some parts but sub-par in others. Rather a wash.

Another fantastic story from Seth Ring
When I got to the end, I gasped.... because I didn't want it to end so soon, lol.
The characters are engaging and there is some delightful witty repartee, which is always a win in my book!
Yes, once again I stayed up past my bedtime on a work night because I couldn't put it down
I'd complain about having to wait a year for the next installment, but I'm not willing to sacrifice the next book in any of his other series, so I will *sigh* be patient.
Highly recommend if you like both LitRPGs and cultivation novels. This series is off to a great start.

Then this book is for you!
MC's serendipitous reincarnation is a second chance to grasp his life and steer it toward his will, despite external forces that compel him to confront them. I really like this kind of MC.
The powerscale is a bit WACK in all of Seth Ring's main characters, but most of them are earned, this one included.

Interesting
An interesting first book in a new series from a great author. This one feels a bit rushed, however. The main character has a lot of advantages and nearly everything goes his way, eventually, to the point that even the MC comments on how much Main Character energy and literary plot conviences seemed to pop up.
Overall, not the best book from this author but I'm willing to pick up the next book with the assumption that laying the foundation for this series took some liberties that don't continue to defy belief going forward.

What A Treat!
This story checked all the boxes for me. A smart MC with well developed side people. Smart antagonists who are fun to best like the Sheriff of Nottingham. Working on getting the girl who is clearly out of his league at the beginning. If you are looking for dark and gritty where half your favorite people are killed off for no good reason this series is not for you, thank God! My only reservation is the MC is pushing OP. So far the author has done a great job of toeing that line. Downloading volume 2 now.

I am giving this five stars, which means I enjoyed reading it, enjoyed the characters and story and want to read the next one. Seth Ring likes writing about OP male protagonists, and this is no exception. If you have read and enjoyed any of his other books you will recognize and appreciate some of the similarities. It is a quick, fun read, not serious, and one of his first cultivation based magic systems. I can trust Seth to not include cursing and adult content, which I do not enjoy. For this, five stars. Thank you!

Seth Ring's style clicks for me: adrenaline-pumping fights, training montages, real adventure, and slice-of-life moments mixed with characters I actually care about.
Beast taming, body cultivation, mages, combine all three of my favorite systems into a progression fantasy and of course I'm reading it, no question. This one lives up to that expectation. As a first entry, it sets up a genuinely interesting world, and the power system alone has me wanting more from this universe. Fast paced, easy to read, and honestly hard to go wrong with.

A Refreshing Cultivation Protagonist in a Story with Stakes
I greatly enjoyed reading Body Refinement- it’s a light-hearted story about a cultivator in a mage dominated world. The author has a fresh take on transmigration and the world the protagonist lands in is quick to establish the stakes. The story feels well grounded, unlike many other cultivation novels, and I look forward to what the other does with the rest of the series.

digestible cultivation
One of the authors simpler novels. It's extremely straightforward, the title tells it all. The MC is basically a cultivator in a magical world. It seems this is also part of Seth rings endless worlds universe, using many concepts and terms used in his Tower, battlefield mage farmer, and titan series. everything moves quickly, and your not bogged down too much by the politics and intrigue lousy in cultivation novels. Nice, quick, easy read.

I draw the line at pet pigs
A lot of Author’s write some weird things to attract new readers and I understand you can only write the same thing so many times. But I draw the line at pet pigs. This story intrigued me until a pig of all things is the all mighty pet that hatches. Screw that. This isn’t the 7 deadly sins anime. If you keep writing like that and just adding dumb things to try to make your books funny, I’m tapping out. It’s a disgrace to the LitRPG genre.

hoot and a half, loved it
Being fan of SR, I thought I would give this story a shot, man am I hooked! Loved the MC, not to op, but getting there and having fun doing it. It’s refreshing to read a story like this when the main character doesn’t take himself or the situations he get into to serious, but still can’t apply logical thinking and scrap by. Looking forward to more and much more!

Enjoyable read
This book has kind of an awkward title, but the story is anything but disappointing. While maybe a bit overpowered, the MC is funny and humble and noble without being nauseating about it. The supporting characters ring true, too. The writing is very good with zero to few annoying tics or typos, the dialog is believeable and not stilted, and the world building is excellent. I'm looking forward to the sequel.
