Claire Henderson loves Orange Grove Park, a senior community that she and her husband own. She thinks of the people there as her friends and the grandparents she never knew. But her husband, Roger, has decided to sell the park, and won't tell her who the buyer is. Now, with a group of intrepid senior citizens who call themselves the Orange Grove Sleuths, Claire has set out to stop the sale.

But Orange Grove's secret sale is not all of Claire's worries. Roger is also having an affair with a woman he won't name, and he's laundering money for the mob. How did the facade of her happy marriage unravel so disastrously, and why was she so clueless? As she struggles to save the park, Claire assumes financial control of the company, but will it really work?
Then one morning, Claire is summoned to identify a body floating in the swimming pool at Orange Grove, only to discover that the body is that of her husband. Now, in addition to the question of who Roger was selling the park to, there is a stronger one. Who killed him?
