Think you know about gargoyles? The beautiful winged race disappeared eight hundred years ago. When they last walked the earth, they traveled in close-knit packs, their throats marked with ancient runes. Their greatest enemies were the ugly and brutal harpies that people today mistake for gargoyles.

Seventeen-year-old Force has never been interested in girls. All of his dreams have revolved around serving with honor in battle. But the gargoyle left all the great world-shaping battles behind him in another era. Now he's just a medieval guy trying to get by in a modern world.

At this point in Camie's life she's convinced that you can't count on guys for nothing. Her short-term plan is to get through high school without a boyfriend to distract her. Her long-term plan is to complete college. After that, maybe she'll look around for a knight in shining armor…if there is such a thing…and if they aren't all taken by the time she starts looking.

Only fate and unusual circumstance can move these two independent young people together. But when you're talking about gargoyles, the circumstances are always unusual.

This book was so cute. It's the best one in the series after Reason's book and a huge step up from Victor's book. You can tell that Ms. Longford took her time with this one because there is some really good growth and development between Force and Camie.

I loved Camie for many reasons but I must say that I am always here for diversity in ya heroines and really appreciated that Camie was a WOC. Camie is such a good girl. She's loyal and generous but tenacious and hardworking as well. Force is such a cutie. He's a tough guy but he's so sweet and honest.

The relationship between Camie and Force is so cute and it gave me all of the warm and fuzzies. I thought they worked together really well because Force is also a very direct and alpha type of guy and Camie is really fiery, so she wasn't going to let him get away with bossing her around. Force comes in with the mindset that girls are just really frivolous and not worth his time, but Camie's strength and heart really won him over and it was cute to see this hard nosed guy completely smitten. Camie also comes from a similar place that Force does in regards to guys. She doesn't have time for them and their games, but she comes to realize that Force is as legit a guy as she could ever hope to find, which is nice because she hasn't had a lot of people in her life that she could depend on. Another thing that I really liked about this book is that it is one of the more mature books in the series. There are more real world situations discussed here. Force and Camie were two mature characters in their own right as well and that is reflected in the handling of their relationship.

Overall, I loved this book and immediately re-read it. Sadly, we're running out of brothers but I'm excited to learn about Courage whom I'm assuming the next book is about.

What can I say... I LOVED IT!! After a slightly disappointing book #6 This book picked me right back up. I think sometimes the books told from the girls perspective come across easier.
This book was full of sweetness and toughness in equal measures. As a complete romantic myself I understood Camrie's need for a knight in shining armor.

She was a complete crack up and I couldn't stop laughing near the end when she describes her day.
He was a complete tough, gallant and focused guy who fumbling attempts to understand the world around him made me crack up as well.

So throughout this book I was caught between laughing and going awwwww every time this couple interacted

A really great read!! Definitely recommend it!!

Thank you once again Taylor Longford for another great book I cannot wait for Havoc and Courage to come out ;)

Another enticing Greystone novel! Becoming a little scared as we are running out of brothers, so hopefully the brilliant Taylor Langford will somehow continue, or create a new series! Force was highly entertaining, the heroine is again, unique, which I thoroughly admire. I am amazed how she can bring so many characters to life with a plethora of personalities. The romance is beautifully crafted and matched with adventure and the suspense of discovering the Greystone family secret. A must read!

Another great read from Taylor Longford. REALLY enjoyable :D
I loved how strong both Force and Camie were...really wild characters with strong opinions and ideas.
The tensions were high between them, which just added to the overall tension of the book. My stomach was in knots when I got near the end. The situation gets pretty dire before it gets better.
The ending is perfect.
This series is really worth investing in. I love this world so much. Taylor Longford has done an amazing job.

Camie made this book. SHE WAS AWESOME!!! Force was a little bit like, "Me Tarzan, you Jane." Meh. But, this book was by far one of my favorites (if not, my favorite!) of the series!!!! Though slightly vanilla, Force was still sweet and funny and adorable. This story is slightly more mature than the others, and I loved that! It is the first time I give one of the books in the series five stars, and it was greatly earned!!! Great job, Ms. Longford!!! I love this series.

Loved it. I love Force and I love Camie. I enjoyed their interactions and I liked how Camie was such a good person, always trying to help others without making a big deal of it. The action/drama/danger with the introduction of Rafe and the kidnapping was also good. I was less happy with the whole deal with Morris and how it was resolved.

Awww.

(FYI this is Scott's daughter writing.)I love happy endings, and Taylor Longford delivers some of the best. I absolutely love the Greystone novels and would recommend them to anyone who enjoys a clean romance story with strong characters and overall plot line. I also enjoy Taylor's work as she posts often about her writing on her WordPress blog and responds to emails and comments from her fans personally. I can't wait for the next book in the series.

I really love this series. Camie and Force's story is very sweet. In a short time, they grew to be very important to each other. And even though they each had their own view of their future and where love fit it, in the end they couldn't deny their feelings. I do wish we could have seen more of the rest of the family and what they'd been up to. Maybe in the next book. Can't wait!

Great story

I love this series. It is different than other books out there but a good way. This story is super sweet. I love how each of the stories had a unique feel to it. It is totally worth the price and I am very picky.

Yet another great book! Force was great and Cami was pretty cool too. I liked her thriftyness and her desire to help others.
A little sad there was no Havoc for the first time but I understand why it must be...

3.5 stars — I found this one to be quite different from the previous books in writing style. It felt like Cami was talking to the reader a lot more, and she would summarize events for our benefit, instead of the action taking place in the plot. I wasn’t a fan of that. I don’t even understand why the author would make that choice, since I didn’t really remember it in the previous books. It was almost like she wrote down high level plot points, but then decided not to flesh them out. So yeah, that was disappointing.

I was also not totally in love with Force. He was super insulting to Cami, had a bit of the girl shame thing going on like Victor…I just didn’t quite understand what made him tick. Again, would have been awesome if we got his POV as well.

Cami was a bit of a spitfire, and I appreciated her independent moments. I didn’t fall in love with her, but I enjoyed her well enough. Her lack of friendships/familial relationships felt odd. The only person who got actual screen time (and not just in a summary section) was Morris, and he was awful. I really don’t know what Leo was like at all. I guess her father was somewhat interesting, but it was all just…lonely.

The other thing that brought this one farther down on the rating scale for me was the profound lack of the pack. I really enjoy the pack dynamics, and they barely have an appearance (at least not until the end). So that was a bummer. Heck, writing this all out, I’m almost wondering if I should just 3 star it…but I was still interested in the plot and devoured it quickly. Hmmm….

This was a good, cute, quick read. The romance is very light, in my opinion. Let's just say I wasn't fanning myself from the tension or anything like that, so if that's what you're looking for, maybe save this book for a later date. Still read it though! It was cute and it made me smile and laugh.

I do have to comment on the fact that there were errors pilfered throughout the book. Not so many as to completely take away from my enjoyment. A beginning quotation mark missing here that was easy to spot, a word plugged in where it wasn't needed, a word missing that I could easily discern what it was. Stuff like that. So it wasn't terrible or always present... but it did happen enough that it's now nagging at the back of my head, and I can't not mention it, because you guys know how I am about that. It's not a complete drawback, but it does bug me sometimes. But again! Still liked this read.

This is a good choice if you're looking for something quick and light, to sort of take a break from heavier or deeper romance books. I may go ahead and read the next one... or I may wait a while again. But I will be reading the next one. (Obviously, I've come this far, I have to see what happens to the other two brothers... cousins... whatever.)

Force is a noble, battle-minded gargoyle navigating modern life—and feelings—for the first time. Camie’s practical, no-nonsense attitude perfectly contrasts his old-world values. Their unlikely connection builds naturally, with plenty of heart and humorous culture clash moments. A tender, coming-of-age style romance with fantasy flair.
