Finally someone said it outloud

I don’t usually write reviews, but I had to for this one.

I was honestly waiting for a day where I could sit down and read this in one sitting, or at least within 24 hours. I didn’t want to keep putting it down, and once I started, I understood why.

I work in the same industry, and it felt like this book was written from inside my own day-to-day experience. Page after page, I kept thinking, “yes… exactly that.” Not just the business side, but the personal side too.

What I appreciated most is how real it is. This work will take everything you’re willing to give and then ask for more, and the book doesn’t pretend otherwise. It talks about leadership in a way that actually reflects what it looks like in real life. Not just strategy, but doing the hard, sometimes mundane things that actually move things forward.

The parts around listening, accountability, and shifting from problems to solutions really stood out. Simple concepts, but powerful reminders. And the piece about not everything being a crisis and learning boundaries hit home.

There were also moments that felt more personal than I expected. The loneliness, the pressure, the identity side of leadership. That part caught me off guard in a good way. It made me feel seen, which doesn’t happen often with business books.

If you work in a people-focused field, especially one that demands a lot from you, you’ll relate to this. It’s practical, honest, and actually helpful.

Caring matters

This is a real life story about doing well by doing good. Taking the road less traveled does make all the difference, and Becky can help guide you. Really.
