This Princess is STACKED!!
HA! What a great take on The Princess and the Pea! Having a short tale with so many different angles and twists & turns was hilariously evil, but also entertaining! It surprises me just how much story you get out of a short fairy tale. This was such a joy to read! I love twists on fairy tales, especially when Madeleine has written it! The paranormal and erotic aspects make it a great NEW fairy tale that you want to read again & again, many times. In fact, I did just that with this one! I read it, then re-read it, and then recently re-read it again! (That was when I realized I hadn’t reviewed it yet!) However, just because a fairy tale has been re-written does not automatically mean it will be worth the read. There are a lot of aspects in this short story and they are work, the story flows perfectly, the added parts or changes (the hotness, etc.) WORK with the story, not against it. I firmly believe that the reason this story is so unique and is such a great read is all because of Madeleine proving that she has a great wealth of talent!! I cannot wait to follow this one up with the next couple tales that I hope will show just how all of this plays out! Love the different angle of this popular fairy tale and of course having some hot stuff added in never hurts either!! My only regret is that this story is not longer! Yes, I wish that of all of my books, but with how gifted Madeleine is, she could easily turn these shorts into a novella-type of book. However, that is not something that is a complaint or worth “docking” points off of my rating for. Not every story has to be a full length one regardless of the content, talent, etc. In fact I am coming to see that in some cases – like Madeleine – it takes an exceptionally talented author to be able to successfully write a short story that you can follow, understand, love and want to read again! All in all – worth every penny and is definitely a story work reading time & again.
