I like to write books that have the threads of love running through them. Books that will inspire, motivate, and help you to believe for the impossible.
I believe that love is the most beautiful gift to possess in life and it is an ever powerful force that can give strengthen and heal your life.
I am at present writing my second book, that will further explore the threads of love as it weaves through the lives of the characters that we have already met in the first book plus more...I am excited in the way it is developing.

Emily is a bright young girl born in terrible circumstances. Her parents want nothing to do with her from almost the moment she is born. Were it not for her saintly grand-mum Ruby she would have certainly grown up abused and neglected.
Grandma Ruby raises her and protects her from all harm, until the tragic day when she passes away, only to be found by Emily the next morning.
Emily relies on her intelligence, her resourcefulness and on the providence of God to carry her forward, always feeling the loving presence of the spirit of Ruby helping and guiding her throughout the most trying times of her young life.
The story has many twists and turns, and Emily's faith is tried in many ways. This is a surprising tale and the author's dedication to detail and scene setting is meticulous.
I would recommend this book for a YA type audience, though there are some dark moments that might warrant pre-read by a more mature person so as to ensure comfort with the theme of child neglect and abuse.

A beautiful story of family, friendships and the importance of love. This novel was touching, and really moved me. I enjoyed getting to know the characters, especially Ruby, and got a real feel for Australia. Beautifully written, charming and easy to read. Love pours from every page.

Fall in love with Emily…
A story about a young girl’s quest for mental, physical and spiritual survival, this book touched my heart from the beginning and wouldn’t let go. Born to unloving parents, it’s up to Emily’s great grandma, Ruby, to give the girl all the love and care she can, and to prepare her for a future without her. When Ruby doesn’t wake up one morning, Emily eventually realizes she must face life alone.
I found myself rooting for Emily as she juggles her life around evading her dreadful parents, making excuses for their absence in her life, finding a job in order to eat…while still maintaining friendships and developing her love of nature. What touched me most is Emily’s unwavering belief – handed down from Ruby – that she will be watched and guided as she journeys toward the love she so desperately needs.
This is a wonderful story about hope, courage, tragic loss, the healing ability of nature, and the conquering power of love. What more could I ask for?

This story includes a variety of life's elements, including abuse, hate, and love. Where the story varies, though, is in its use of all of these with a nine-year-old girl, Emily, as the driving character. While young, she's been instilled with such independence and a strong belief in following her heart that she possesses more wisdom than many adults. Through this book, you'll share her experiences, struggles, and triumphs.
While I found the cadence of the book threw me a little (sometimes too fast or too slow), I've balanced that in my rating against the truly touching moments in Emily's life. Sometimes life brings dark moments, but hope and belief can prevail.

A little miracle!
I won this book, and what a lovely price that was!
I loved reading this touching story about Emily, born to parents who didn’t want her, and her very wise and loving grandmother who takes her on and cares for her as her own. Emily thrives in Grandma Ruby’s care. Their relationship truly shows the healing power of love, and the importance of morals and standards. Emily is an intelligent girl. After her grandmother passes away, when Emily is nine, Emily uses what she has learned to survive. She develops techniques to manage her life, feed herself and tiptoe around her cruel abusive parents; all in clever and the most touching ways.
The story gripped and held me through the many twists and turns until the very end. It’s well written and the characters are authentic and well developed. It’s easy to become involved with them, especially Emily, laugh and cry with them. I also loved the glimpse of Australia’s beach culture and the wildlife park with its unique environment. I recommend this book. Thank you Margaret Ann Loveday!

This is the first book I read in the new year. How fitting that it is a story of the powerful healing effect of love. I bought this book last year, but for a number of reasons, let it sit on my side table for months before picking it up on New Year's Day and reading it straight through.
The writing style is unique in its simplicity. The message is universal-pure love can heal even the most broken life.
Little Emily is kept alive and safe from her abusive parents by her great-grandmother Ruby, who arms Emily with the skills and grace to survive on her own as she inevitably must.
Following this brave child on her journey to find the family and home she was destined to have kept me turning pages late into the night. The ending was satisfying and heartwarming.
A bonus for me was reading about the the unique setting, plants, and creatures indigenous to Australia and so different from my part of the world-Ohio, USA. I look forward to more from this author.
