Hey I wrote it. This book was published in 2006, not 1996. Also available in Japanese, Chinese and Italian.

Took me awhile (and I skipped the exercises) but I finally got through this one. The text alternated between being common sense, and being highly informative. I actually took notes while reading! It's a bit out of date - the author describes emails and digital photos as "optional" - but certainly a good way to start thinking about a career change.

Good overall, but the field is changing so quickly these days I don't know how relevant some of this will be in a few years. Still, I learned a lot and am keeping it in my travel/writing reference library.
