By understanding the Federal Reserve, we get a breadth first approach to the financial markets. How the economy produces value which is then exchanged through a myriad financial instruments, and how financial instruments are created to influence economic productivity.

With many examples and several “aha” moments throughout the book the author explains these financial dynamics, providing us with a good intuition for them without diving too deep into each.

Finally, I started this book thinking maybe some of the USA’s central banking concepts would translate to other economies I interact directly with so that I could understand those better. To my surprise, these concepts not only translate to but directly influence other economies every day as the Fed has now become in effect and practice the world’s central bank.

I am very thankful for this work.
