Exactly what it claims to be - we are taken into the homes of some creative professionals via photographs featuring aspects of their interiors. There was a nice variety of different designs featured, though nothing really stood out for me. Instead, I found most interesting the last part of the book where each featured creative was interviewed and gave a short answer to a question regarding their work (e.g. what advice would you give to other creatives who are just starting out?).
Featuring some very unique and creative work spaces. Some were a little too industrial for my taste, but still lots of ideas to be had. And even though the book is a dozen years old, it still feels fresh and new.
Nice book of pretty and creative spaces from makers who live and work there. I felt the most affinity with the last artist featured. Her living space and shared studio space were - like mine - more cramped and crammed with stuff. Other spaces seemed unbelievably spare, for instance, the author's own space, so I wondered about how much was real or styled for the camera. There were many pretty and interesting vignettes: a stack of old suitcases, nest/skull/metal vase, Russian doll collections. Wished there were more variety of creatives (painters, sculptors, potters). Many of the spaces skewed feminine.
