Breakaway: An M/M Second Chance Hockey Romance

Rate this book
Seven years ago, they had everything. One fight destroyed it all.

Nolan Beck is a shutdown defenseman who's built his NHL career on discipline and control. He's spent seven years burying the memory of Sebastian Laurent—his former linemate, his first love, and the biggest regret of his life.

Sebastian Laurent is offensive dynamism flashy, fearless, and from hockey royalty. He's also spent seven years trying to forget the boy who broke his heart the night before the Memorial Cup finals.

When Sebastian gets traded to Nolan's team mid-season, their chemistry on the ice is instant and undeniable. But off the ice, they can barely look at each other. The media calls them telepathic. Their teammates call them weapons. Neither of them will admit the they never got over each other.

As Seattle makes a run for the Stanley Cup, the careful distance between them becomes impossible to maintain. One explosive confrontation forces them to face what really happened in that Ottawa hotel room—and the feelings they've been hiding ever since.

Can two men who've spent seven years nursing old wounds find the courage to try again? Or will fear cost them everything a second time?

A steamy second-chance hockey romance with high heat, emotional depth, and a team that ships them harder than the fans do.

Short and sweet

This short story was well written with likeable MCs. It was fleshed out really well and did not feel rushed. If you're looking for a palate cleanser in between books, I highly recommend this short story.
