Ascendant

Rate this book
Evan Marshall has a target on his back the size of two galaxies.

On Earth, the hunt continues, but now there's a new player with their sights set on him. The most dangerous kind of player. One with nothing to lose.

A billion light years away, the Ascendant is heading where no star chart has ever mapped. A location so remote, so deliberately hidden, that the civilization who built it clearly never wanted it found.

The way in was dangerous. The way out may not exist.

And either way, things aren't going to get any easier from here.

M.R. Forbes is the author of a growing number of science-fiction series including Rebellion, War Eternal, Chaos of the Covenant, Stars End, and the Forgotten novels. Having spent his childhood trying to read every sci-fi novel he could find (and write his own too), play every sci-fi video game he could get his hands on, and see every sci-fi movie that made it into the theater, he has a true love of the genre across every medium. He works hard to bring that same energy to his own stories, with a continuing goal to entertain, delight, fascinate, and surprise.

He maintains a true appreciation for his readers and is always happy to hear from them.

Too much filler

No idea what the author was thinking. All those chapters of overly descriptive banter. I hoped it would get better with the 3rd book. I will not read another. Glad I didn't pay for it. Thanks Kindle.

I was unsure, but after a few chapters in, complete book 3, the story line, character development is engaging and left me wanting the next book.
Right amount new character introduced along with new scenarios.

As always a gripping story by a great storyteller

Forbes is one of my favorite authors. He always creates a gripping and intriguing tale that feels like a greHUat picture using words. Well done I can't wait for the next edition.

Lost a bit of momentum

A good read but the 20 odd pages of being lost in a destructing giant space station, towards the end, was tedious.
We are left once again in crisis as this book ends ..
I'll be reading the next one but it's getting frustrating.

Ascendant is beyond belief. A most uncommon starship!

The task of finding and rescuing a starship can't be as easy as buying a $15 toy at a yard sale can it?
