I enjoyed the author's debut novel, 'The Dating Pact' and The Love Stunt was no different. From the very first page I was hooked and I kept reading all the way through as I wanted to know what happened. The story was fun and easy to follow and had a great cast of characters. I loved Hannah and Caleb's characters and I wanted them to have their happy ending. Plus the destination place settings sounded beautiful. Overall a brilliant novel that I highly recommend to other readers. I look forward to reading more by the author.
💚 Thank you to Netgalley, the author Lulu Morris and the publisher Canelo, for my arc ebook copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

For a book where the main characters are an emergency nurse and a stunt double, I was expecting this to be full throttle and action packed. I was surprised though, because while we do get movie sets and glamor, this is also a book about what being happy means. It’s about someone being willing to make drastic changes and setting boundaries to point their life in the direction they want it to go. Both characters have been stuck and need to find a way to push forward. Finding a way to do so together without sacrificing their goals can be a tricky balancing act. If getting involved with someone could mean leaving yourself in a worse position when it’s over, is it worth it? (Even if it’s the person you’ve had a crush on since high school, and not only has he grown bigger muscles since then, but now he is also interested in you!?)

While ‘The Love Stunt’ focuses on the main characters Hannah and Caleb, there are some really lovable side characters involved in their story. This is the second book of the Behind The Scenes series, and I’m hoping there will be a few fun cameos for us in book three.

Lulu Morris's second book in her interconnected standalone series is about Hannah, a British nurse who moved to Australia, and stuntman Caleb. I had not read the first book, and can confirm that this is a real standalone. There are brief mentions of Hannah's best friend, Ellie, who is the heroine of the first book, but I could comfortably read this without having read the first book.

Hannah and Caleb have some high school history, and I do appreciate that the book doesn't overplay it. It does feel a bit like the two don't have a real harsh history (true of too many second chance romances), but were just dumb kids who didn't quite express themselves well. The Gold Coast setting felt very unique - probably because we get so few Australian romances here in the United States, I love getting them (still obsessed with Jodi McAllister's The Academic Affair), and it felt very unique and different. I also know absolutely nothing about movie stunts, but the book seemed really interested in the details of production and the importance of professionalism and safety.

This was a fun, immersive read, and I would love more Australian romances! Thanks to Canelo for the early copy.

The Love Stunt by Lulu Morris is a fantastic read for anyone who loves friends-with-benefits romances with plenty of chemistry, spice, and emotional tension. Hannah and Caleb’s relationship made for an intriguing setup, especially when feelings start getting in the way of their original arrangement. I love the mix of romance, complicated emotions, and the excitement that comes with two people trying to keep things casual when their hearts may have other plans. The characters and their relationship brought plenty of potential for swoony moments and romantic tension. The stuntman element also added a fun twist that made this story stand out. Overall, The Love Stunt was a romance with an appealing premise that should delight fans of the genre!

I received an ARC copy from NetGalley. Thank you for giving me the chance to read this novel and share my honest review of the novel

This was a cute read!

We follow Hannah who is arriving back into Australia after visiting back home in the UK and she runs into Caleb in the airport who she used to tutor in school and also had a massive crush on but he up and left unexpectedly and was a little mean to her. Now he is an ongoing stuntman for a famous actor and offers Hannah a job as one of the medical staff on his new film set that he is working on. During this they start getting closer and he offers her a friends with benefits situation under the assumption that he doesn't do serious.

Of course they get closer and feelings develop.

The banter between Caleb and Hannah was so fun and I loved seeing the film set dynamic as this is not something I have read much of.

My only thing was Caleb denying his feelings right up to the end then it felt a bit rushed of them getting together.

*friends with benefits
*nurse x stuntman
*childhood friends
*second chance

I loved The Love Stunt and I really want to pick up The Dating Pact now and learn about Ellie's story.

Hannah is a nurse who moved from the UK to Australia to reinvent herself but things haven't quite been going the way she was expecting.

But she randomly bumps into her teenage crush, Caleb, who's now a famous stuntman, and he offers her a job in the medic team on the set of his latest film.

As they start becoming close, Caleb, who doesn't do relationships, suggests a friends-with-benefits arrangement which might be exactly what Hannah needs to learn to go with the flow and live in the moment...

This book was so much fun! I loved the characters and the film set setting. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a spicy romance with good character development and some fun action.

Massive thanks to Lulu Morris and The Picture of Romance for sending me a copy of The Love Stunt

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

I liked the setup of Hannah reconnecting with her former crush, and I thought the friends-with-benefits dynamic had a lot of potential. I was really frustrated with their backstory though. I felt like they kind of brushed by something that could’ve used further addressing, considering how much of an impact it had on her.
Overall, though, this landed somewhere in the middle for me. I enjoyed parts of the romance and the characters, but it never fully grabbed me or stood out enough to become a favorite. Still, it was an easy, entertaining read and definitely had some fun moments.

I loved seeing Hannah’s progression throughout the story. I enjoyed watching her slowly gain more confidence in herself and seeing how much she grows as the story progresses. I also liked seeing Caleb slowly let his walls down as their relationship develops. Even though they are complete opposites, I loved seeing how well they complement each other and how their dynamic evolves throughout the story.

One thing I thought the author did so well was making you feel like you are actually there on the sets with them. She does such a good job of bringing the filming world to life and making you feel completely immersed in the story. I felt completely captivated while reading this book and honestly didn’t want it to end.

The combination of the character development, the relationship between Hannah and Caleb, and the way the author brings this world to life kept me invested from beginning to end. I enjoyed this book so much, and I can’t wait to read the next one and see Emma as the main character!

Thank you to NetGalley, Lulu Morris, and the publisher, Canelo, for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

A beautiful love story from the very talented Lulu Morris.

The Love Stunt follows Hannah and Caleb. Hannah is a nurse who trades her life that’s not quite landing for her for a new adventure in Australia. Things are fabulous at first obviously but life catches up with her real quick and she finds herself directly in the path of Caleb her old crush and a now famous stuntman….what could go wrong….or right!

Hannah’s character development as the story progresses is genuinely beautiful. She gains in so much confidence, she’s super relatable and we’re all going to find a little of ourselves in Hannah.

Caleb’s confident right from the get go, I mean he would have to be with his career. He’s on hand with the whole ‘friends with benefits’ suggestion but little did he know where that suggestion would take them both….wiggle toes throughout.

It is a super fun, easy read and perfect for these cosy nights and just enough spice to keep things interesting!
