Eliana had dedicated her life to her family. To her spunky twin daughters who brought her both endless grief and honest joy. And to her husband Jesse, her high school sweetheart and the love of her life. She had happily sacrificed her dreams for what she’d believed was a better future.
Until suddenly… it wasn’t.
When late nights, unexplainable purchases, and guilty excuses became their new normal, Eliana began to take note. To document. To investigate. Her husband may think otherwise, but this housewife was no fool. And this time, when the truth came to light, as it always does — Eliana would be the one pulling the strings.
O…M… Goodness! I loved this book! Bumping up to five stars because this is a new author who deserves the love. Please keep writing, Rose! Angst readers unite!
FMC and MMC have been together since they were 12. Now they have pre-teen twins. Cheating, lying, gaslighting husband. He’s cheating with the neighbor. OW’s husband and FMC team up for shenanigans. She moves on and up.
Spoilery Thoughts…
This was a fun ride. Heartbreak turns into empowerment. While feeling lost, FMC started writing her story anonymously on a Wattpad type app and gained a large audience. I absolutely loved the comments of her readers. They thought it was fiction. It was her life. Some comments were savage. There are types of comments that frankly we all think when we are reading this genre. ‘Why is she such a doormat?’ ‘When is she going to confront him?!’ ‘Fall in love with OM’. It was super fun and clever. Like… the author recognized that we would have disagreements with some of the FMC’s choices. I loved that. Very well done.
New MMC is a dreamboat. I did feel a teensy bit bad for OG MMC. I didn’t want him to be with our FMC. But dang… they were together since they were 12. I think he did actually love her. He just didn’t know HOW to love her. That’s just sad. It was a sad fate for him.
I definitely want to have a story about Clem. Everyone deserves a friend like that.
5 🌟 for this very hard to categorize and delightful novel! As outlined in the blurb, our FMC discovers her husband’s extracurriculars and has to figure out her next steps. With a high school diploma and no out-of-the-home/paid work experience in conjunction with no assets in her name, her options for a quick and uncontested exit are limited.
A lot of the story is told in an epistolary fashion, but with beta reader feedback instead of emails, letters, or texts. Our FMC writes story to both purge and heal. The readers’ comments are spot on!
There’s not a romance here. We can see the beginnings of one, but we’ll have to wait for another book. Hopefully.
This book is light (empty, maybe?) on sexytimes, too. But the story is so captivating, I didn’t miss it. For that reason, and for the Phoenix Rising From The Ashes journey our FMC took, it coded more like chit lit to me, but not quite.
I’m curious to see what my GR buds think. I enjoyed it tremendously. It’s well written, well edited, the flow and pacing are great, the story is engrossing and….hopeful!
What a nice surprise! New author. Well written. Cheating husband….”but it didn’t mean anything.” 🙄 jerk I really enjoyed this book. In spite of the topic, plenty of laughs. A few surprises. Never felt bored or skipped a few pages. My only complaint, the MFC. I liked her overall but she did need a wake up call at times. Grrrrr frustrating! Good ending. You could see the HEA coming. Recommend! 👍🏼
It took Alania awhile to go through with her plan, I kind of understood why but I would of confronted him right after she got the recording of her bedroom. I would NOT have dragged it out. By doing that she put her girls in an awkward position. Because they found out and didn't know their Mother new.
This is way too familiar. I’m sure I already read this same plot about a month ago. The difference was the “comments” at the beginning of each chapter. But the next door neighbor who’s a gold digger and the husband who is sure he can talk the FMC around because he loves her! The neighbor doesn’t mean anything. Where have we heard this before?
Anyway, I am not accusing anyone since I don’t have any evidence in front of me, but that’s why this is just three stars. This one may or may not be original…
This was a quick read for me. If you’re interested in a cheating book where she never thinks about staying with the cheater and tries to get her life in order, you may like this.
That said, she doesn’t divorce him until the very end. I understand that she wanted control and to have a job and not upset her daughters but it was a bit frustrating at times, even though it is actually acknowledged in the text.
She does get a new man but it’s more he’s a friend for most of it and just a promise of romance at the very end.

Parts felt like it was written by AI. And other parts just felt boring. The only stuff that was really enjoyable was the friendship between Eliana and Chem.
Also, 3 epilogues that could have been regular chapters??
The premise is simple and direct. There are not many layers to the plot or the characters. Character development is limited. The emotional path of the characters is oddly pain-free. A ready acceptance of the betrayals. Very little grief or angst. No internal path to acceptance. Just straight to coping strategies and revenge. A tricked pregnancy got about two sentences of recognition. We didn't travel the motionall road with the characters.
Positives were some interesting twists and turns but these were not developed enough to benefit the plot or character arcs. Some nice bits of humour. It has potential but needs rigorous rewriting.
Well written, though I fail to see any sort of "revenge" in the story. Elianna was a timid woman who stalled confronting Jesse with the idea evidence she had until she was forced to say something and get the ball rolling because her daughters. Milo and Clem are the real stars of the show along with Bill and Sue.
I didn’t like that it took her so long to confront her asshole of a husband. And it really pissed me off that it took her daughter confronting her father for her to finally pull the plug 😤
Fin.
I really enjoyed this book with a woman finding out her husband who was her childhood sweetheart is not just cheating on her but has been hiding things. Plus I loved how while she is living through this she’s also writing and posting about it in a blog and reading the comments. It’s so interesting cause Sometimes the comments are things I’m actually thinking. It’s such a cool concept.
We have Eliana who is a stay at home mom with her two 12 year old twin daughters.(mainly because she found out she was pregnant and it continued to postpone her from going to college)Her husband Jesse went to college and worked his way up in his job. BUT he’s been acting suspiciously with a large hotel bill and a flower receipt found. Eliana figures he’s cheating AND with the married neighbor (bea) who was also her friend. She goes to a lawyer but knows she needs to plan before hand as she has no money/credit to her name and everything is in his name. I know people might not like that she stayed with him and want her to get revenge right away but realistically she needs to figure things out for herself and daughters.
So, she sets up cameras and listening devices. She then also finds out that Jesse is also in bad debt and is doing illegal things at work to make money. So she enlists her friend clementine, who has a mysterious job, to help her uncover jesses finances and what he’s up to. Then goes to tell milo, who is bea, the mistress’s husband that bea is cheating on him. She also burns her mattress 😂 and milo plans to join her on the quest for revenge.
They start with him giving her a job and then they go on a work trip to give the cheating couple an opportunity to cheat, so they can get it on camera for evidence. Put also Jesse literally tucks his daughters in and goes across the street to sleep with his mistress. smh and one of his daughters literally sees him do this. This guy is just not a good person and neither is bea. Which is gets her karma as once back milo makes a nice dinner and tells her she’s broken the prenup so she gets shit. Basically she only gets her store that milo basically runs and nothings else. Cause she’s only a greedy pretty person that wants attention. She then has audacity and turns to Eliana as a friend to take her in. Which news flash not happening.
Here’s where we get to the part that Made it lose a star for me cause Jesse has been doing illegal things and stealing money from people at his work. And with this information Eliana is like but I don’t want to send my daughters father to jail. He may be a bad husband but not a bad father and I don’t want them to have to see him in prison. But first of all It’s not like he would of gotten life, maybe like ten years and probably gotten out on good behavior. Second of all this just should not of been her decision to make. Cause like she later states she can’t look at it objectively. A police officer wouldn’t find his illegal activities and been but wait are you a good father though. Oh you are well you’re free to go. No Jesse broke the law, he faces the consequences. I will say I agreed with some of the comments on her story for this one, not ending herself, but how she wants her daughters to be around a man that was so selfish he put his lust above his daughters and wife, then did wrong things by committing a crime, lying and hiding all this. Basically put his family in a awful situation in secret. But she wants her children around this man. Showing them it’s okay to do all this. I agree BUT jesse ends up getting his karma.
As Eliana finally confronts jesse about his debt and spending telling to work on it. Then at thanksgiving the big blow out happens as the daughter that saw the cheating tell the mom in front of everyone. It’s also revealed that the pregnancy wasn’t accidental but jesse purposely got her pregnant so she wouldn’t go to college and work. Man, what a bad guy. So Eliana is forced to finally act and put all the cards on the table. By showing jesse she actually got him laid off his job so he can get a severance package to pay off his loans, they’re going to sell the house to pay off more, plus he won’t fight to divorce as she has proof of his illegal activities, plus she gets full custody as he’s proven untrustworthy as the daughter actually came to him about what she saw and bro just kept going with life.
So then she moves out and on with her daughter and milo eventually asks her out. I loved this book, there is so many twists and turns throughout the way. You also get a pov from Jesse and Bea on how they think. Both cheaters got their karma. Plus the way she’s writing her story and you get to see the comments is so cool. I love it.

Eliana and Jesse were high school sweethearts who married after graduation. She worked while he went to school and then she was going to go to school. Jesse’s last year of college and Eli became pregnant with twin girls ending her dream of a college education. She became a SAHM while jesse rose up in the ranks of the corporate world pulling in a six digit figure. Eliana wants to enter the workforce but Jesse gets offended and shuts this down. He also won’t let her be involved in the finances. This upsets her but she goes with it, and then she gets a notification for a 400 dollar hotel charge….her husband is on a business trip but that is more than the usual hotel price. He lies and says there was a mix up and they only had the suite available…she does a little sleuthing and finds that to be a lie…this one little mistake on his part has set off her warning bells and they are clanging loudly! So after 14 years of marriage, 12 year old twins, and living the life of a 1950’s housewife in the 2000’s, our 32 year old heroine sets out to gather proof of her husband cheating so she can extricate herself from the marriage without losing her children in the process.
I absolutely love how the author went about this set up and execution of this story. Cheating stories definitely have a certain trajectory they follow. However, in this story the h is writing it and sharing it publicly, sort of like a reddit post or a wattpad story. So each chapter starts with reader comments. I am pretty sure these comments are plucked right from the author’s own experience with the writing forum.
I don’t want to spoil too much more of the story. There are other things that Jesse has involved himself in that impacts how the h is able to go about divorcing him. The ow in this story is also deluded in thinking that he actually loves her. She is a very unlikable ow as most of them are! I really really enjoyed this story! This really shows how the h had to deal with not only the betrayal, but some self discovery along the way. Don’t get me wrong this is not some long winded female empowerment story. This story is very entertaining with a beautiful combination of rage, love, and humor! There are some additional side characters that provide support for the h along the way. Her daughters also have to struggle with the broken home and a dad that is no longer the standard to compare future boyfriends to. The spice level in the story is low. The only spice would be between the husband and ow. Our h doesn’t suffer BBS and has no desire to be with husband once his cheating is revealed. The relationship she does have with the new in the future H, is friendship with underlying feelings that need to be explored once the marriage is done! So this will not be the new H and her story, but we do get to see the progression of their relationship and all the sweet moments they share.
The following contains spoilers……I try to answer some of the questions people have who are worried about cheating stories. Do not read if you hate spoilers as it does reveal who the ow and new H are going to be!
Burning Questions you may want answers to because of the cheating aspect:
Do they reconcile? Heck no!
Is there a new hero? Well, funny you should ask….as you know it takes two to tango. Jesse wasn’t just cheating on his wife with any old ow, he picked an affair partner close by. The ow, aka next door neighbor Bea was married as well to the wonderful Milo. Milo becomes Eli’s partner in crime in taking down the cheaters. However, I want to be clear…although we know Milo will be Eliana’s future someday, their budding relationship is not the focus of this story! There is a lot of hurt to process and personal growth on Eli’s part before she can just jump into a relationship. Plus, she has children. So no you are not going to get tit for tat where she and Milo have a parallel affair. They end up going about their relationship in a healthy, cohesive way.
Is there karma? Any revenge?- Yes and yes! I feel like the author did an excellent job with this aspect of the story without it becoming campy and crazily unrealistic. However, we do get some wonderful laughs out of this!
Did the husband even love Eliana? Did he have regrets? Yes, but it is a selfish kind of love. I do believe that Eliana is the closest he will ever get in feelings for real love. He definitely did not love Bea the ow. She was the fantasy, the forbidden, a release. Unfortunately, there are people out there who love themselves the most, so when they love someone else as he does Eliana, they really are always second place to the person’s own desires.
FMC - Eliana *dedicated mother of 2; devoted her life to raising her children and supporting her husband MMC - Jesse * high school sweetheart, love of her life
Eliana gets a notification of a charge to their credit card for $400. Naturally, she calls her husband (who was away on a business trip) to say, they must have overcharged you”. He calmed her fears of course, making up some kind of lie. She let it go, without hesitation, her mind not even hinting at the possibility of an affair.
Needless to say, as things progress, her intuition starts to peak, and she can sense something is wrong. She hires someone to put camera’s in the house, recording devices, hacks into all the phones and computers (she believes he is in serious debt; shady business practices, etc., so she is gathering evidence). She finds out that he has acquired over $62,000 of ‘affair debt’ and has taken out loans against the house, and is involved in a fraud scheme with his company.
She has her best friend, Clem, over to help her with the listening device in their room (they are listening remotely), and they both hear Jesse, and SURPRISE! SURPRISE! Bea - Eliana’s friend and next door neighbour. She tells Bea’s husband, Milo - who does not believe it, until he hears the recording. Once the secret is out in the open, they both start to compare notes.
Milo and Eliana start getting close, hatching a plan to get the evidence they need for divorces. They don’t have to wait long. Milo tells Bea by chapter 23, and when Bea comes to Eliana for support, Eliana is very clear that she cannot support Bea in anyway for having an affair on Milo (she doesn’t tell Bea that she knows it’s with her husband - yet).
Eliana decides to let Alex know that she knows about the debt. She tells him he has 8 weeks to figure it out (get help, change some things), then she will not continue this ‘sham of a marriage’.
Bea starts acting crazy 😂 wanting her and Jesse to ‘be together’…he tells her that will never happen - he will never leave his wife, etc.
Then Alex’s 12 year old daughter tells him that she saw him and Bea kissing on the back deck, and knows why they (Jesse and Eliana) are fighting…he is shocked, like what?!? And the 12 year old realizes he didn’t actually tell their mom the truth, and she’s devastated.
While sitting around thanksgiving dinner with their extended families, the 12 year old girls (twins) start fighting amongst themselves, and when Eliana asks, “what’s going on?” One of the girls replies, “I don’t know, ask dad, he has girlfriend”.
Buckle up. You’re in for a ride (to a HEA - not with the cheaters) ❤️

Stay at home mom and cheating husband who was controlling especially with hiding finances and gaslighting her.
This story differed a bit from other books in this genre. Usually revenge is OTT or not realistic. This one did the revenge version perfectly! 💋
What I liked - the new H. Loved how supportive he was . 💕💕 - loved when the h realized that her decisions set an example for the kids. ✊🫡 - loved how the h thought about the body betrayal syndrome in beginning when wondering if he cheating - Clem was awesome and I would love a book about her !!! 🙏📕 - OW was hilarious during the bee scene 🐝🐝🐝and take down 👮🚔🚓🚨 - a lot of books in this genre but this one was realistic. Or more realistic then others - loved how she gave him the option of jail or no jail. 👮 I could never understand in other books how they could take revenge to that extreme. First they are taking away their kids father and second $$ 💸💵💰for support education etc. - liked how she was writing a book 📕 in it on a platform similar to WP where for each addition the readers comment . That made it that much more interesting. She had thousands of people advise and / criticism. - length of book and no boring parts. - final parting words to H - he was a gaudy accessory she grew accustomed to wearing but gone out of style ! Classic !!!
What I didn’t - the initial decision to get through the holidays first. Why ? Way too dragged out. 😣😣 - would have liked another epilogue with the new H and her in the future (maybe kids ) 🧑🧑🧒 - lawyer advice. I’ll assume maybe this was a different country. 👨⚖️Cuz her lawyer didn’t really give best advice. She could have left him before getting a job. The court would not have kept her away from her kids or not give her custody because of it. Her husband would still be responsible to provide a standard of living. Also the debt that he incurred with the OW. A good lawyer could have that exempted her from it and not only would she not be responsible for it but H would need to pay portion back to her. Family finances were used. Just my opinion. - the balance of seriousness and humor. 🤔🤣Humor - Clem, bee police incident and the hex.
definitely worth the read. Would read more from this author. ✍️

This was a refreshing palate cleanser of a story and one I really enjoyed. There are themes of betrayal, drama and it abounded with high emotional angst, but it ended in a peaceful and harmonious way. While the usual cheating trope is on display, there is a lack of spice in the story, though this doesn’t detract from the ensuing feel-good warmth as the tale reaches its conclusion.
Eliana is a quietly confident and structured housewife who lived for the joy of serving her husband and her delightful twin daughters. She gave up her study dreams and put herself on the back burner in order to fulfill her duties as mother and organiser. Her husband Jesse despised her thoughts of working and ensured she had no say in the family finances, which ultimately lead to her feeling abandoned whilst Jesse enjoyed a dalliance with the beautiful but grasping next door neighbour Bea. Milo is Bea’s husband and has dealt with difficulties in their marriage, but has always believed in the strength of their relationship and he was blindsided by Bea’s infidelity. Once Eliana had proof of their spouse’s betrayal and opened up to Milo, they worked on their plan together to set themselves free of their baggage and to perhaps envisage a new beginning and a fresh start to their own happiness.
This is an emotional and angsty read that is descriptive and well written, with few typos or grammatical errors. From soulful and teary moments and heartbreaking drama to loving values, I have thoroughly enjoyed the hours of respite this reading has gifted me. I thank the author for giving me the opportunity to enjoy the arc and provide my voluntary review.
I originally read this book on WattPad after seeing another author's shout out in one of their stories and immediately was sucked into Eliana's story. I loved reading the story there as it was published chapter by chapter and was fortunate enough to get an ARC of the final book to read again. Spoiler: There is a new H and while the book doesn't cover their new relationship, he's still heavily featured throughout the book so you will have time to get to know and root for him. The story begins with Eliana beginning to suspect that her husband, Jesse whom she had been with since they were young, may be cheating. She quickly is able to confirm it and begins the process of getting a plan together to leave him while being able to provide their 12 year old twin daughters a stable life. Some may think of Eliana as a doormat, the comments from her 'readers' at the beginning of some chapters were actual comments the author received as her book was being written on Wattpad, but I don't personally see it that way. Once she was able to confirm the affair, she never once really wavered on whether to leave Jesse or not, it was matter of having time to get her plan in place and enact it. As her plan unfolds, more and more of Jesse's shortfallings and bad decisions come to light and, in my opinion, the cheating was the least of his crimes. Her true motivation was to try to protect their daughters from as much of the fallout as possible and once that was no longer an option, she acted swiftly.

Summary: Eliana is married to her first love and childhood sweetheart, Jesse. She is a mom to twin girls, and up until recently, believed she had a loving and perfect marriage. She has noticed some changes in Jesse’s behavior, suspecting he may be having an affair, and one day, she finds a receipt for a flower delivery. She asks him about it to which he provides a story that seems believable but after looking into things further, discovers his lie and ultimately the truth about who the flowers were actually delivered too.
Milo and Bea are the neighbors and friends to Eliana and Jesse, and have been for many years making the betrayal over the fact that Bea is the one Jesse sent the flowers too hurt a little more. Deciding she needs more proof and a plan for what’s to come when all is revealed, Eliana seeks out a lawyer, help from her very resourceful best friend, and informs Milo of her suspicions regarding his wife.
Milo believes Eliana and begins his own planning to end his marriage. With no children, he acts pretty quickly, all the while being a supporting friend to Eliana, even offering her a job to help her get to a financial standpoint that will allow her to keep custody of her daughters. As he and Eliana grow more close, the lines of friendship begin to blur just as Eliana acts out the final part of her plan to inform her husband of what she knows and end their marriage.

Final thoughts: This was a great read and I really enjoyed it. I am a fan of comeuppance. And you’re definitely going to get that with this book which made it fun to read as well, because the FMC’s husband was a real jerkoff in this one. He got what he deserved for sure. As did the person he cheated with. There’s drama and angst and all you would expect in a cheating story and I definitely recommend.

Overall, I really enjoyed the story. I mean absolutely loved it. I followed this author on Wattpad and I enjoy all of their work. There was just one really glaring issue for me. The truth is is that if somebody finds out about cheating and they stay in the relationship after it can be proven, that’s actually almost like acceptance and it really does threaten your divorce position if it’s based on infidelity, which hers would have to be if she wants any money. So the fact that they had everything on video and then she said I need a couple more months I wanna get through the holidays really bothered me. Because somebody can argue that it was an open relationship and she knew about it and didn’t do anything about it so it really does harm her from a legal standpoint to continue to let it draw out.
However, the story was great. Otherwise I just couldn’t get over the timeframe. Also, this had nothing to do with the author, cause I know there are crazy old biddies out there who feel this way, but every time somebody commented that she was a cheater now because she was hanging out with Milo. It just drives me crazy that there are women out there that feel that way. I’m sorry when somebody does you Wrong an eye for an eye is absolutely OK and especially in the 21st-century expecting women to do absolutely nothing after being trashed all over is just insane but again this was a really enjoyable story and I do highly recommend that it.
I love Eliana and Milo! I really love when the spouses that were cheated on work together for proof and revenge! Bea was truly a despicable OW and way less amazing than Eliana. Jesse was truly a moron for fumbling things and even more so for cheating with one of her friends!
I loved the format of the books and way reader comments were figured into the story via her Reddit posts. It made the story feel almost interactive. It was such an original idea and it really worked in this story. It also allowed for explanations when commenters had questions. It was really cool to see what commenters were saying and if their thoughts gelled with my own.
I know I said this above, but it bears repeating, I love Milo and Eliana! He was so incredibly sweet with her and I loved all the ways they pretty much schemed together right under their cheating spouses’ noses! It was beautiful! I also loved Clem and her hackery goodness! I am looking forward to her book now too!
Amazing book! I can’t recommend it enough! It was such a novel idea for a book and executed perfectly! I loved it from beginning to end! I think I’ve read it 3 times now and I loved it just as much every time!💜
A cheating story - that has a very satisfying ending. Meet the characters:
Jesse, Eliana his wife, and their twins Abby & Zoey Milo and Bea - their next-door neighbors and friends or so Eliana believed Bea - the mistress - she is looking to upgrade but Jesse is just looking for some fun Clem - Eliana's best friend who helps her get all the incriminating evidence that she needs for divorce proceedings
What was very unique and interesting about this story is Eliana, when she uncovers her husband's infidelity, writes about it and posts it, via chapters, within her FB reading group. Each chapter, after she posts the story, includes comments from readers. A very refreshing take on telling the story.
Bea gets her comeuppance, but it could have been more in my opinion because I'm petty like that. I won't say that Eliana lets Jesse off easy, because she gets everything she wanted in the divorce and allowed him to not face jail time because of the twins.
I look forward to the author's next book in this series.
i think i remember reading the first few chapters on Wattpad and then forgot about it. The fmc finds out her husband is cheating on her, with the neighbor who also happens to be married. The wife is a sahm and basically has nothing other than being a mom to show for herself. The husband has racked up a bunch of cheaters debt. anyways.. the fmc decidies she needs a bit of revenge and more evidence and patners up with the neighbors husband, who learns of the affair and they team up to take them down. they end up falling in love, i guess, it seems really forced and nothing really happens. 🙄 although he seems like a good guy. The final confrontation is anticlimactic, forced by the daughter, which was dumb and the fmc i found to be extremely frustrating. the cheaters sort of get their comeuppance its not just not that satisfying and no real closure, and even though the fmc was trying to shield her daughters, they have a front row seat to the debacle anyway, the epilogues are boring, the story left me wanting. with these type of cheating/betrayals, you win some you lose some, this was boring and parts of it felt really ai written.
When Jesse changes the passcode on his phone, it's the beginning of the end for him and Eliana. She methodically plots her exit from the marriage. What she discovers about her husband Jesse comes as a total shock, he's not the person she's known and loved since high school. Interestingly enough Jesse had no intention on leaving his wife, he still loves her, and like most men Jesse can and does compartmentalize his actions with his (supposed) love for his wife.
Unfortunately, it takes two to tangle and when Eliana discovers the other woman is Bea, her married friend and next door neighbor, she is both surprised and hurt. Realizing that Bea husband Milo may be in the dark, she changes his world in an instant. As Ivana Trump once said—"Ladies, you have to be strong and independent. And remember: don't get mad, get everything".
Highly recommended if you can get past the off the page cheating, it's a great story about having a plan, letting go and starting over. Read this Book!
Given ARC by author, the following is my honest review.
Cheating = H's wife and h's husband are having an affair with each other. h's husband is also committing financial infidelity.
Giggle-worthy = once h discovers the infidelity, she makes plans to for her exit and to protect herself. There is some mattress burning involved. The h feels obligated to let the H know about his wife's infidelity. Together they work to make the husband and wife a little miserable. It was fun to see how they make the cheaters squirm.
h sees H (not H but husband) with OW = h has hidden cameras set up and captures the cheaters
OW Drama = OW (wife of H) pretended to be h's friend, became obsesses with the h's husband, milked the husband for expensive gifts, etc. Comeuppance? OW gets the boot from the H and gets nothing because of prenup, OW tries to get h's husband to take her in...it doesn't work in the end.
First, I want to apologize to Rose for taking so long to get this review up of the ARC she so sweetly allowed me to have. I work with kids and got sick...
This story touched me. A mother and wife who realizes her marriage isn't what she thought. Then she proceeded to find out what exactly her husband had gotten up to. Cheating, lying, and stealing, to name a few of his wrong decisions. She is a stay at home mom to twin tween girls. Then she plans how to get out of this shambles of marriage with her bestie and the neighbor And we watch her grow and show her strength she didn't realize she had This is just the first innrhe series of books. I have read the rough draft and now the finished book, and I enjoyed it so much
I really loved this story. Eliana is married to Jesse and they have two beautiful daughters. Their next door neighbors were Milo and his wife Bea.It was a shock for Eliana to find her husband was cheating on her with Bea. She started preparing herself to separate from her husband. She told the truth to Milo about his wife’s infidelity. During the period when both of them need evidence against their cheating spouses Eliana and Milo’s friendship bloom and it turned into love. They found well deserved hea with each other. I was so rooting for their hea and was happy when they found happiness together.
I felt for Eliana and the girls. Jesse was such a cheating POS. Those poor girls having to live with the knowledge their Dad cheating. At times I wanted Eliana to burn the whole thing down, but she was right waiting to make sure the girls were provided for and protected. Bea was a piece of work, she just wanted Jesse, because she thought Eliana had it too good. Milo was the star of the show, the pet name he gave Eliana was perfect. I’m so glad that Eliana got her HEA with the right man, especially how you find out that Jesse trapped her. Great book!
The MMC began flirting with the next-door neighbor who was also married. You could feel her devastation when she learned of the truth of her husband’s cheating. And then the astonishing revelation that it was their next-door neighbor. Her husband had not been treating her well for years, and she had not moved on nor really confronted him about it. So it was really good to see that in the end he got what he deserved and she got something sweet in the deal. I happily ever after story ever own.
I absoutely loved this book. It was thoughtful and humorous. I enjoyed the plot evolution and the growth of the characters. Jesse and Bea received their just consequences at the end; it was delicious. Elly handled the demise of her marriage with class and strategy; making a life for herself and her girls. The conclusion made sense and Milo was truly a nice accessory. I couldn't put this book down & took a sick day to complete it. This book in my opinion deserves a very strong rating.
