(SHORT STORY, part of Grains of Sand) Georgia State University in downtown Atlanta gets the kudos for this inspiration. I happened to be in Kell Hall on Halloween, the creepiest building I've ever set foot into, on the creepiest day of the year. Naturally, my imagination took over. Children always have fears about what happens to them if they stray too far from their mothers. This, I believe, is what leads to the instinct to run away and rebel later in life. This is a very literal interpretation of that fear.
Victor A. Davis has always loved reading and writing short stories. He is an avid hiker and even when away from the world of laptops and wifi, keeps a pocket paperback and a handwritten journal to keep him company on trail. He is the author of two short story collections, Grains of Sandand The Gingerbread Collection.
