Savage Oaths #15
Claimed by the Dark Lord
Princess Lirael rode into the Shadowwood barefoot, wearing her dead brother's blood, with nothing but a dagger wrapped in ribbon and a demand for peace.
The Dark Lord Vorath — eight feet of scarred green skin, immortal, unforgiving — should have killed her on sight. Instead, he locked her in a room carved from living oak, fed her warm bread, and asked her questions no one in her father's court had ever thought to ask.
She came to bargain. He gave her time.
She came to hate him. He gave her the truth — centuries of broken treaties, stolen land, and a border that bled because neither side had ever tried to stop.
She came to leave. He left the door unlocked and let her choose.
Now the forest whispers her name. The bond marks are burning on her skin. Her father's knights are riding north. And the only creature who has ever truly seen her is the one her kingdom calls a monster.
Lirael has to choose: the marble throne she was born to, or the bone throne she was made for.
She chooses fire.
🔥 Tropes: Size difference · Enemies to lovers · Captive princess · Who did this to you? · Touch her and unalive · He falls first · Soul bond / fated mates · Forced proximity · Only soft for her · Immortal hero · Found family · She tames the beast · Competence kink · Possessive alpha · HEA
⚠️ This book contains explicit sexual content and is intended for readers 18+. Features a massive, possessive orc Dark Lord, a heroine who walks into the dark and refuses to leave, and a guaranteed happily ever after.

Surprisingly Beautiful Love Story
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️½
I picked this up expecting a dark, spicy monster romance, but I ended up getting so much more. This was a surprisingly beautiful love story. Lirael is tired of the war between her people and the orcs, so she does the unthinkable and goes straight to Vorath, the feared Dark Lord, to ask for peace. Instead of killing her, he keeps her with him, and I loved watching them slowly get to know each other. As they share their sides of the war, Lirael realizes her people weren't as innocent as she always believed. They had stolen the orcs' land, and Vorath's people were simply fighting to protect their home.
My favorite part was watching Lirael truly become one of the Shadowwood people. She didn't just fall in love with Vorath, she embraced his world, became his bondmate, and stepped into her role as Queen. Even when her father refused to listen, she never stopped fighting for peace and for what she knew was right.
Vorath was the perfect strong protective monster hero, and their relationship felt natural as it grew from enemies to trust, respect, and love.
If you love monster romance, enemies to lovers, forced proximity, fated mates, and a strong heroine who changes the world around her, I definitely recommend this one.

The sample started off okay and seemed interesting so I bought the ebook. Then a few chapters in I felt the writing got more stilted or almost robotic at points. It felt like a few scenes were very repetitive, like actual sentences/phrases were repeated a page later. Also the timing was a bit confusing in a few other scenes, I actually read back a few times to make sure my mind wasn’t playing tricks on me.
The plot line was okay but the writing style threw me off I think.
I ended up rushing through the last few chapters to just finish it off.

Short but absolutely perfect!
I bought this whole series and have yet to be disappointed with any of the books I wish it came together better as a series but it is still really satisfying to read each and every one.

Best Orc Romance in a while
I couldn’t put it down. It was sweet, romantic, and steamy while still being a fantastic story. I was hooked from the moment I started reading. I wish it could have been longer. But honestly it was just enough. ❤️

Well done.
The storyline was solid, the characters, well drawn and believable. A good, quick, but satisfying read. Good job Ms. Thorne.

Decent quick read
Better than I expected it to be. It was short and exactly what I needed, something light to get me out of my reading slump.

Quick read but very well written! The storyline had some meat to it which surprised me. I’m enjoying this author!!

I enjoyed this one. I love a good fated mates, Enemies-to-Lovers plot line. Our FMC was fearless and I really enjoyed watching her take control of her own life and finding some happiness.
