Theo Kane

Telling my oldest brother that I had a girlfriend was a mistake. I was only trying to convince him I’ve finally settled down and am ready to work at the family company by his side. A position he’s refused to offer to me.

Extending an invite to my “girlfriend” for our family lake house trip this summer was not the reaction I was expecting from him. Even more unexpected? Sienna said yes.

Now I’m stuck restraining my most carnal urges with this intoxicating woman by my side. I’ve agreed to her strict set of rules, promising not to break them. I just hope I can keep that promise.

Sienna Parker

If I’ve learned one thing from true crime podcasts, it’s that agreeing to be the fake girlfriend of the hottest stranger alive can only result in my inevitable death. Yet, I’m so desperate that I’ve agreed to it anyway.

I don’t have much of a choice considering no architecture company wants to hire me. Theo’s family is my last attempt at securing a job after college graduation. His brother’s so called “Kane Family Games” is unexpected, but it’s nothing I can’t handle given the rules I’ve set in place.

Rules I’ve learned, can be easily broken…

Thank you to Love Notes PR and Makenna Cleaver for the advanced copy of Fake It with You!

This book was just so perfect for summer. It literally feels like if you squeezed the essence of summer into a book. This was an amazing read, and it’s even more impressive considering it’s Makenna’s debut novel.

I loved the development between Sienna and Theo but also their personal journeys as they transition from college into their professional lives. Considering I’m nearing that point in my life (yuck), their story resonated with me that much more.

While it feels weird calling this found family since the family being found (you know what I’m trying to say) is literally family. This book was SUUUUCH good found family. I really felt like that despite it being Theo’s story, it was a comprehensive introduction to all of the brothers and the eventual rest of the series. I especially liked how the book set up a really clean transition to Alex and Beth’s story.

I obviously love Theo and Sienna, but I really, reaaaaally enjoyed the snippets of Alex and Beth! Maybe it’s the enemies-to-lovers lover in me haha. I think this book had such great romance, but the platonic bonds that all the characters have as well were really heart warming.

I feel like the Jennifer Coolidge clip of “makes me want a hot dog real bad” but “makes me want to tie-dye a t-shirt real bad”

Fake It With You 💎
Firstly,I want to thank LoveNotes PR & Makenna Cleaver for trusting me with this ARC!🩵

While, faking my girlfriend into getting in the family business is wrong, this is the only way of proving I am stable enough for this, but hey,it benefits her too.Who you may ask?Sienna Parker.
Being desperate after not being able to get hired by any job was enough, but agreeing in being the fake girlfriend of a complete stranger was another one,yet this is the my only chance if I want to be the architecture I want.
So let the Kane Family games begin.

This book was SO,SO GOOD.
Even from the start I can say I was really intrigued of how this one s gonna go,it gave me that really dark-ish vibe, that it was what I needed to stay in and never go away from these ages again. But,as the story flew,I discovered an amazing heartwarming,we-shouldn't romance, that the least I can say was addictive. In the trope,we have the beloved fake dating, that I can say with certainty it was honored through Cleaver's writing. You see,the writing style is making you wanting to read more, cause you clearly see that there is even more to that than what you are already discovering in the page you currently are,but this feeling is just keep going and keep going until you have reached the epilogue.
Now getting into the characters, you find two wonderful people and a more wonderful couple that it is to be.Sienna, shows the perspective of you have 1082991 degrees and know 399292 languages but in this workplace YOU CANNOT FIND A JOB!Which is an every day reality scenario, but the hot stranger that asks you to fake it for him, unfortunately,is not. So,see gets tangled in this mysterious romance that makes her re think her own life again ,and in the end we literally have a brand new Sienna, that I love(go queen✨)
Theo,on the other side is a more complex character, with many things on his plate since he was a kid,and always feeling left out, however life has her own path for him,and I can say the way everything unfolded for him,in his personal and romantic life was worth crying for, just when he understood how much everyone loves him and what the sacrificed for him was beautiful to read, and of course...our HEA was just around the corner at this point.
Wrapping it up, Fake It With You does not use big scenes or words to amaze you, just pure love from everyone to anyone.
Out On June,26th🔒

With fake dating, forced proximity, and a golden retriever MMC, this should have been a slam dunk for me. Unfortunately, it didn't fully deliver on its promise.

Theo and Sienna have great chemistry from their very first meeting. I loved the banter between them, and once you add in a protective, straight-shooting best friend, the dialogue becomes one of the strongest parts of the book.

Both characters are recent college graduates with big expectations for their futures, perhaps a little too big. Their ambitions and circumstances ultimately lead them down the fake dating path.

Theo is the youngest of four brothers, and his age and immaturity definitely show throughout the story. That said, he's genuinely kind and clearly cares for Sienna from the beginning. I struggled more with the family dynamic. We're told the Kane brothers are incredibly close, but outside of Roman's parental role after their parents' deaths, I never fully felt that connection. In some of the story's biggest moments, Theo was surprisingly isolated, which made the family relationships harder for me to buy into.

Sienna wants more from life than what she currently has and follows a very rigid plan to get there. While I understood her drive and determination, I often found her difficult to connect with. At times she came across as entitled and self-focused, particularly in the way she viewed her upbringing and her parents' choices.

Despite those frustrations, I did enjoy the chemistry between Theo and Sienna and the friendship that develops alongside their romance. My heart was breaking for them as they sorted out what is really important for them, separately and together. Beth was easily one of my favourite characters, and I'm definitely interested in seeing more of her as the series continues.

Overall, this was a solid read with some fun romance tropes and good banter, but I never felt fully invested in either the characters or their journey, which kept it from being a stronger read for me.

While this one didn't completely win me over, I can see the potential in the series. I'm hoping the character growth and family relationships continue to develop because there are definitely pieces here that make me curious to keep reading.

First of all thank you to Makenna Cleaver and Love Notes PR for allowing me to read and review eARC of Fake It With You. I got the eARC copy in exchange of book review and social media content, and my honest review is based of my own reading and not directed by anyone.

When the book blurb showed up on Love Notes PR I honestly interested. Fake relationship is usually a light reading genre, usually followed with rom-com cliches that is perfect for light reading. But when I read this book, I would say 'light' and 'packed a punch' would suit best to describe Makenna Cleaver's debut book.

Of course when I read a book what I'm looking forward the most is the character development and the world building. I might say the character development between the lead character, Sienna and Theo, are what I paid more attention to. I feel like Sienna's character is strong from the start but slowly her progression showing her delicate side. As for Theo, I feel that his character showing more development on the last 30% of the book, while the first 70% was mostly developed by his interaction with Sienna.

I must say the world building, especially for the side characters which I think all the brothers would have their own books and story to tell, is very promising. I love Roman character, I feel like peeling all his character in his own book would be what I'm looking forward the most.

Overall I enjoy how Makenna Cleaver wrote the story, though I find some hole in between like when Sienna picking up calls from his father when they are already at the lake house. I feel like there should have been something there which we didn't find out later. I assumed it would have similar content from all the text Sienna had with her father and phone calls are usually important so I thought there might have been something there, but maybe it was just my overthinking.

Congratulations Makenna Cleaver on your debut novel! I'm looking forward to all Kane Brothers stories and others!

I had the honors to read an ARC from this book. I gotta say I FREAKEN LOVED IT!!

This book is a good summer read, it had fake dating, slow burn, only one bed, & he falls first! It was such a good book. I love all the characters, especially the Kane Brothers. Theo, being the youngest of the Kane Brothers, had such an ambition to show his older brother how mature he is. He is the sweetest but yet wants to have fun when he can. Pairing with Ms. Sienna, she’s such an angel, sweet, kind, and a hard worker. She reminded me a little of me, she knows what she wants and works hard for it. At the same time, it’s she learns how to love things and anyone around her. These two characters combine so well, they were so adorable 😭😭

The slow burn was soooo good, I needed to know when Theo and Sienna were gonna tell each other how they felt! It made me so mad at times when they had the best times! They were so cute “trying” not to have feelings. 🤭 Theo falling for her first! When he saw her for the first time! It was sooo cute when he couldn’t stop thinking about her and how many times he ran into her. I needed them together ASAP!

Lastly, I need to know more about Alex and Beth! Like Beth is a little spicy! 😅 enemies to lovers is my thing too! I need to know!!! I am dying! Oh my gosh Leo, a CHEF!!!, I can see him cooking for his girl! 😭how romantic! 🩵 and Roman, the CEO, he’s so silent and to himself! I love it!!! 🤭 my weakness on characters like him!!! They are living rent free in my head! 😩🫣

I am excited to read more about the Kane Brothers, I need to know more about Alex, Leo, & Roman! 😍🤭 A boxer, chef, & a CEO, I neeeeeeed to know!!

I do want to thank the author Makenna Cleaver for creating such wonderful book & thank you Love Notes for giving me the opportunity in letting me read this book! Love! Love! Love! I cannot wait for the next! 🫶🏼

Thank you to Love Notes PR and Makenna Cleaver for the opportunity to read this book early in exchange for an honest review.

I am an easy girl to please when it comes to tropes. I see a fake dating book and I am immediately drawn to it. If it involves found family or an actual family, even better. And Fake It With You is precisely that. The first book in Makenna Cleaver’s Kane Brothers series, this is a story about how a deal can change your path and how life is what happens when you’re too busy making plans.

Fake It With You tells the story of the youngest Kane brother, Theo, and newly graduated architect Sienna Parker — a cliche like no other but that I absolutely devoured. I loved all of the characters in this, and I am already pining for the next book. Not to mention, Sienna and Theo have great development as both characters and a couple. Their meet cute turned fake dating turned pining turned fun turned more pining turned actual dating was absolutely delicious to follow.

Now, I am not usually a fan of a breakup in the third arc — but in this case, it worked perfectly, even if it was not technically a breakup (can ending "fun" be a breakup? Ross Geller would probably argue no). But Theo had to mature as a person and Sienna had to learn how to deal with life not going her way and they needed that time apart. Most of all, they had to learn what was most important in life and prioritize certain things – which is a big lesson in this book.

Overall, a great book, a great debut, and a great kickoff to a series. I am so excited to keep going on this universe and urge everyone to give Makenna a chance!

I absolutely adored this book and was very sad it ended. The plot was so good it had me worried about where the story was going and forgetting this was a romance novel! I liked that the romance was a slow burn that showed them becoming friends, who genuinely cared about the feelings of the other.

Theo, (MMC) and Sienna (FMC) are college seniors waiting for graduation and waiting to start their lives. Both wanting jobs where they can use their degrees they hitch a plan to fake date that will hopefully get them both job offers by the end of summer.

The story is at times funny and dramatic but all the time endearing. I couldn't help but feel pain for Theo and his history and want to hug Senna and tell her to slow down and live life.

They both are surrounded by characters that they are perfectly paired with... brothers to Theo; Roman, Leo and Alex and best friend to Sienna, Beth!

"And another moment ruined, by a man opening his mouth." -Beth
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

We all probably have a Beth in our lives and if we don't, we need to get one now or we are her! Beth is the best friend you cant leave on speakerphone, will not hesitate to tell you the truth and will sit with you in your heartbreaking moments, silent, letting you cry; supporting you by being a safe space. Sienna, absolutely needed her.

Seeing how strong the characters were I was happy to read that Makenna plans on a Kane Brothers Series and a romance novel for each brother.

I predict Roman's story with be a second chance love. I like a grumpy MMC. 🤭🤭

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ impatiently awaiting book 2!

When I heard "Kane Brothers Book 1," I immediately knew I wanted to be obsessed. It just sounds sexy, you know? Starting with the youngest brother also shakes things up a bit from the typical oldest-to-youngest brother love story order these series usually follow.

It did take me a couple of chapters to really get into it; not because of the writing or the story itself, but because I hear "college" and instantly think, they're too young for me. But after the shopping cart accident? Just like the two of them... call me hooked.

A summer vacation at a lake house with a family Olympics-style competition featuring a bunch of 6-foot-tall brothers with six-packs? Yes, please. 😍 And the setup for the next book? Chef's kiss. (See what I did there? 😉 If you know, you know... the kitchen scene when the AC goes out. No spoilers! 😅🤷‍♀️👀)

Sienna and Beth are the perfect FMC duo. One is a little more of a wild child, while the other has a ten-year plan, and they complement each other perfectly. Beth was such a great addition to the storyline, and I absolutely loved how hilariously uncoordinated Sienna is. 😂 And that little blue bikini? Even I want to see it after all the comments Theo made. 😍

The crash and burn at the end, the character growth, the lessons learned, and those satisfying "aha" moments were all perfection.

I cannot wait to dive into Kane Brothers Book 2!

If I have to define this book in one sentence it would be “found family”

Sienna and Theo gave us everything a summer love should have but adding the fake dating part to make it more interesting and more angsty. The tension was palpable and watching how these two fall for each other was so exciting that I couldn’t put this book down.

Let’s start with Sienna, my girl, I found myself so related to her as someone who has a 10 year plan and gets frustrated when something is getting out of track. I love all her personal development and how she learns that it’s okay not to have all your life figure it out straight out of college.

On the other hand we have Theo, someone who has lost something very precious early in life but has a beautiful support system even though sometimes that support system puts high expectations for him and don’t give him a chance to prove himself. What I love most about Theo was how he brights every room and how he is so determined to prove his value to his brothers.

These two start trying to fool everyone and it was so funny because both of them had a lot to lose but they weren’t good at the fake dating part. Also watching how Theo’s family welcomed Sienna and Beth since day one and included them in all their silly family traditions made me love them even more.

Thank you Love Notes PR and Makenna Cleaver for this incredible opportunity I really enjoyed this book and I’m really looking forward to your future books, I want more of this amazing family.

I want to first thank Love Notes PR and Makenna Cleaver for allowing me the opportunity to receive an ARC copy of this book!

This is not my usual genre of choice, but I really enjoyed it. Typically I go for a darker romance so the fluffy fall in love stuff was just that for me, light and fluffy. I was pleasantly surprised with how emotional I got throughout this book. I don’t want to include spoilers since this is an ARC. If you like a good Hallmark movie then this is for you.

Sierra and Theo are both graduating from college with their Bachelors and trying to seek job placement’s. Sierra is attempting to get an entry level position at an architectural company, while Theo’s family owns an architectural company and he is trying to have his oldest brother make him a partner in the business.

Sierra has a 10 yr plan and nothing is going to make her veer from her path, except she didn’t plan on Theo. Theo is a party boy who wants to be taken seriously by his oldest brother and he thinks the perfect opportunity will be to show his brother he has settles down by getting a serious girlfriend who is career-oriented.

As with all fake dating stories they start out not really caring about one another but somehow things change. Will Roman find out they are faking it? Will they keep denying their feelings for each other? Will either one get the job they want? If you want to know I suggest you read this book! Also I give it 🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 for spice.

Fake it with you is a fake-dating romance full of summer spirit.
From the beginning there's a palpable chemistry between Theo and Sienna, their banter and flirting was so entertaining. What I loved from their fake-relationship scheme was the initial awkwardness., they've not known each other for a long time so it gave them a chance to truly connect and get to know each other and we get so much yearning from both of them, I enjoyed so much how crazy they were driving each other. It was both realistic and added angst to their feelings. They were truly complex characters with an such incredible depth and relatable feelings considering they are about to leave college and their future is still up in the air.

I adored the family dynamic between Theo and his brothers. The summer plans they made sounded great to be honest and I really enjoyed how Sienna and Beth embraced their traditions, some of them were truly heartwarming. There was a lot of tension but you could feel the love and support they have for each other.
Sienna and Beth were so funny, they are each other's ride or die and it was obvious they understood what the other needed without saying a word. True besties. I love that they got their moments alone while being with the boys.
Overall this is an AWESOME debut. I'm so thankful I was granted an ARC and I can't wait to see how this series evolves.

Thank you so much to the author, Makenna Cleaver, for sending me a beautiful PR package for Fake It With You! I was honored to read your debut novel!

Friends, I’m a sucker for the fake dating trope, so this book was right up my alley. This was also a great read for Pride Month, as the author identifies as queer and there is queer rep in the book! It’s also a great summer read…take it with you to the lake, beach, or pool… perfection 🌊

Our MMC, Theo, is the cutest and has golden retriever energy. He also falls first 😍 I’m so excited to read about each Kane brother, but I especially loved Theo!

Sienna, our FMC, is so sweet and fun. She’s trying to find a job in the architecture industry and fake dates Theo, whose family owns a construction company, in hopes that they can help her find a job. Theo is trying to get into the business and has to prove to his brother that he is mature enough to work in the family company. So, they team up to fake date to prove to his brother that Theo is qualified and to help Sienna land a job. Sienna’s friend, Beth, is also trying to open a bookstore — immediate YES! 📚 Loved her character so much!

This was such a fun read and I can’t wait to read Alex Kane’s story when that releases!

I love the fake dating trope, and the writing style was easy to follow. There was a spark between Theo and Sienna from the moment they met right before finals and graduation. Theo is immature, but he acts his age. Sienna is serious and a little closed minded when it comes to her career and having fun.

Theo was sweet and showed growth, whereas I feel like his brother, Roman, was an asshole. Roman accuses Theo of not acting like an adult, but Roman doesn't behave any better by blowing up on Theo and belittling him. Yeah, Roman did a lot for his brothers growing up, but what about now? Sienna expected Theo to do everything too without putting much of her part. It made me angry for Theo. I would have left everyone and built my own empire. However, he's sweet and had to apologize to everyone when no one made an attempt to be there for him. After the incident where everything blew up for Theo, the last thing is for someone to be left alone with no comfort. That didn't sit well with me and took away what I liked from all the other characters, which sucks because the author did really well with the side characters up to that point. Not sure if I'll continue the other books.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was everything I wanted it to be — fake dating, forced proximity, and he falls first? Perfect.

I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait for the rest of the brothers’ stories. The characters were really well developed and so likeable.

Theo is finishing his business degree at university and is determined to prove himself worthy of joining the family business alongside his brother. Along the way, he meets Sienna, who is completely focused on work and has a strict life plan to become a successful architect — although things aren’t turning out exactly how she imagined.

To prove to his brother that he’s becoming more responsible, Theo decides to bring a girlfriend home for the first time. Roman, Theo’s brother, also happens to have connections to some of the architecture firms Sienna dreams of working for, so the two realise they may be able to help each other out.

The side characters were just as lovable as the main characters, and Theo’s brothers were all so fun to read about. I’m especially excited for Alex and Sienna’s story next.

This is the perfect feel-good, easy, and spicy read, and I’d definitely recommend it.

I love reading a book by an author I don't know and falling in love with it!

All the characters in this book have their place and are endearing, even the grumpy older brother who, in the end, is just being protective.

I loved all the relationships : the two best friends, the Kanes brothers, Sienna and Theo, the Beth and Alex hate relationship! But also I enjoyed the setting of the story and the pace. There was a little bit of everything, laughter, banter, spice, drama, sarcasm, lies and a lot of fun.

This book is not only focused on a friendship/love relationship but also on self-realization, professional achievement and the importance of loved ones.

I must admit I like the fake dating trope, even if the stories often seem similar. I particularly enjoyed the Kane Family Games in this book. I had a smile on my face the whole time, and that ending... I want to know! I'm eagerly waiting for the second book. I adored Beth, and a full book with her as a FMC will surely be sarcastic and funny. If the second book lives up to the first, I hope each brother gets his own story.

I thought, "Sign me up!" when I read that Fake It with You had forced proximity, slow burn, fake dating, only one bed, and he falls first. I adored Theo & Sienna!! I loved all the Kane brothers and all the interactions with each other. I think a huge reason I enjoyed this book was because of the games they played. I would love to have a sibling's game day!!! Ms. Beth and Sienna were a perfect duo. Their friendship reminds me so much of my own relationship with my bestie and definitely had me thinking about her while reading. Sienna is me when it came to be uncoordinated. I fall walking up the stairs so that felt so familiar for me. Theo and Sienna complement each other so well because where Theo was all fun, Sienna balanced it with her seriousness. He helped her have more fun and she helped him become serious about what he wanted. The author really did a good job with this one and I can't wait until the next one comes out. Alex and Beth are going to bring the back-and-forth banter!

Sienna and Theo both make a deal - pretend to be fake boyfriend/girlfriend in order for Theo to prove to his brother he has matured to work at his construction business, whilst helping Sienna find a job in Architecture as she’s had absolutely no luck - and she has a very strict “life plan”.

Of course falling in love wasn’t the plan. In fact, it was one of their no-no rules! They had great chemistry, his brothers were great and all so different (I can’t wait to read their stories!).

Only bit that annoyed me was the fact that Sienna was too “life plan” driven, almost to the point of being rude and a bit selfish. She didn’t listen to what Theo was saying most of the time, presumed he felt a certain way when it was VERY clear.

Excited for Beth and Alex, I’m a sucker for enemies-to-lovers 😏

HEA for the cute couple, wish there was an extra scene at the end to see what happened! SUPER first book Makenna, I am sooooo excited to read the rest of the series 🫶🏼🖤

Thank you Makenna for the gifted ARC.

This had so many things I love and a lot of potential, but unfortunately it didn’t fully work for me. I absolutely love fake dating. If I see it listed, I’m immediately sold! The story started out strong, but around the 50% mark it began to lose some momentum for me.

Theo came across as a bit immature at times and Sienna was so focused on her plan… it was just really hard to connect with them. The lack of communication and miscommunication was really frustrating with them, I was yelling at them to speak their thoughts 🤣 I also felt that references to her skin tone and his size were mentioned more often than necessary.

One of my favorite parts of the book was Beth and Alex’s interactions. I’m definitely interested in reading their story next!

I usually don’t like a fake dating trope but overall this was enjoyable and the writing style was easy to follow. I also don’t like 3rd act breakups, which kind of happened here? There was definitely a spark between Theo and Sienna though. Theo is immature, Sienna is serious and a little closed minded when it comes to her career and having fun. Definitely an opposites attract sort of setup. Theo was sweet and showed growth. Sienna expected Theo to do a lot without putting much in on her part. Not sure if I'll continue the other books in this series. Personally, it wasn’t for me, but I can understand the appeal!

Review of an advance reader copy from Author and Love Notes PR.

I was so excited for this one! It started off strong with the chemistry of their initial meeting but the excitement eventually dulled out for me. I even started to become annoyed at both Theo and Sienna. I thought maybe I was just annoyed due to their age and they're just not yet mature enough.

This supposedly beneficial fake dating is one of my favorite tropes! But this fell short for me. Their attitudes annoyed me with the back and forth. It was whiplash with all their behaviors. There is so much miscommunication between the two that it started to make me feel like they are not for each other so how the heck did they end up loving each other?

The story and plot was great but the character was a miss for me.

The story line is so perfectly threaded, line by line that I wasn’t able to put the book down.
Makenna is so perfect in capturing even minute details to ease the imagination of a reader.

Must read if you love:
1. Summer setting
2. Fake dating trope
3. Slow burn romance
4. Forced proximity

I am so looking forward for more from Makenna!!😊

I got this as an ARC and this was such a cute quick read, if I wouldn’t have been sick I would’ve devoured this in one day! This was 4.5 stars for me so I rounded up to 5 stars, I enjoyed Siennas character growth throughout the book, I think the only reason I took off a half star was there was frustration waiting for them to fully tell eachother how they felt and it felt a bit like miscommunication but other than that absolutely LOVED THIS! I am so freaking excited for the second book because I know the banter between Beth and Alex is going to be top tier!

Cute, fluffy 🌶️🌶️ romance that I blew through in about 6 hours.

I do wish the characters had a little more depth — I never really got super invested in their drama, but overall it delivered. The MMC is one of four brothers, and honestly the brother interactions were my favorite part of the whole book. I’m invested enough to keep reading the series whenever book 2 comes out. (Mostly Alex’s book🥵)

I’d recommend to anyone looking for a light, easy to read they can breeze through in a day. Great palate cleanser or book to get you out of a reading slump.

ARC REVIEW:

I absolutely loved this book started and finished in the same day. I’m a sucker for the fake dating trope always. Them starting off as faking it to both get dream positions they want after graduation, but finding love and each other on top of that makes this story even better. The 3rd act definitely had me in tears and then the little backstory tied in with that. GIRL I WAS EATING IT UP. I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH. Like wow i can assure you it won’t be the last time i read this author

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️

I did not realize the chokehold this book would have on me, in the best way! I was immediately hooked into the story, and Theo was charming from the get go. Sienna reminds me a lot of myself; determined, hardheaded but also hard working, and will push herself until burnout. The Kane brothers have such a close bond that had me wishing for that kind of relationship with my own siblings. The chemistry between Sienna and Theo is off the charts, and has you rooting for them from day 1. Not to mention the banter between all of the brothers 😂 If you love a "He falls first" summer romance, you DEFINITELY need to pick this one up!

ARC review thanks to LoveNotes PR team & the author ☆

A sweet and emotional fake dating turned true love story ❤️
I am IRL the complete opposite of Sienna and even tough there were times where I would not understand initially why she would react in one way or the other ; the writing was fantastic in helping me to still feel and root for her 👌
Theo is such a dorky and easily loveable MMC. I appreciated his growth from a clown of the class- playboy like acts in the beginning.
All in all , a great read that I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a good fake dating romance. 🙌

****ARC READER REVIEW****

Theo and Sienna’s connection feel so raw and real that I carried their emotions with me long after I closed the book. Their slow‑burn vulnerability, the quiet moments, the almost‑confessions, it all hit so deeply.

Makenna Cleaver captures the ache and beauty of falling for someone who feels like home. This story isn’t just romantic; it’s healing. I highly recommend this book to everyone!!

Huge thank you to Love Notes PR for sending me an ARC!

Makenna you have created a perfect summer read! This is full of summer lake house fun, brother banter, one bed situations, slow burns, and a sweet love story. Theo is 100% a golden retriever + obsessed mmc and I adored him. Sienna is a boss a$$ bi+ch. I devoured this quickly. The perfect read to start the summer off.

I received the ARC for this and I’m so happy I got to read it early!! This was my first book from MaKenna Cleaver, and I’m definitely going to have to read more by her!!

I love a Fake Dating trope- having two people use each other to achieve something while also making it a “rule” not to fall in love? I EAT it up everytime!! I loved the way Sienna and Theo fell for each other 🥺 I also loved the friendship between Sienna and Beth! I loved the relationship between Theo and his brothers!
