4🌟, 3🌶️
This was such an easy, feel-good romance to sink into.
I came for the fake dating, but Theo and Sienna kept me invested. Their chemistry felt natural, the banter was genuinely fun, and I really liked how their relationship took its time to develop instead of rushing straight into the romance.
I also appreciated that the story offered more than just romance. Watching Theo and Sienna navigate life after college and slowly figure out what success meant to them gave the book a little more depth. The Kane family was easily one of my favorite parts, bringing plenty of warmth, humor, and chaos, while Beth and Alex completely caught my attention whenever they appeared.
Packed with fake dating, forced proximity, only one bed, and a satisfying slow burn, this was a cozy read that was easy to enjoy. While a few moments felt a little predictable, the lovable characters and strong family dynamic kept me turning the pages.
I’m definitely curious to see where the rest of the series goes.

When I die bury me with all my fake dating books, specifically this one! As soon as one of the main characters says don't fall in love with them with the fake dating trope I immediately fall to my knees with happiness. I know it's never gonna work which is why I'm giddy everytime it happens. HOW COULD YOU NOT FALL IN LOVE!?!!
From start to finish this book was literally the definition of perfect in any possible definition of the word. I am so happy I got to read this as an arc copy. I wanted it with anticipation and the pay off was amazing! I love this book so much with all my whole and full heart. I am in so much shock that this was a debut book because of how it read like it was just another amazing published work of fiction from an amazing author.
The connection between our two main characters Sienna and Theo could literally be felt through the screen. These two finding their way back to each other was something for the books. With every book that I read I know that there will always be some type of conflict but boy did the one from this book hurt. I feel all conflicts from fake dating books hurt more though because you know it's coming but still hope for the best.
Not only did I share a connection to our main characters but also everyone was a part of the book. I am on the edge of my seat for book two because of the set up from book one. Beth and Alex are definitely gonna give me a run for my money in the best possible way. I love the added effect of found family but also finding yourself as a person in the end. Because while you can plan out your whole life something comes out of nowhere that can change your life for the better. What you may think is the best option for you is only a small measure of what the universe can bring to you in the long run.

"Fake It With You" is a splendid debut novel by Makenna Cleaver! Theo (MMC) lies to his brother and says he has a girlfriend to show him how mature he is, so he can get in on the family business. He has ideas to expand and improve their family's business to make it more profitable, but his brother won't take him seriously. If he had a girlfriend, he could show that he's ready to settle down and is evolving as a person. Sienna (FMC) has been desperately looking for a job in architecture before her rapidly approaching college graduation. All of the jobs seem to be nonexistent... at least for her. Theo just so happens to be one of the sons in the Kane family, the same Kane family that owns Kane Construction. Despite alllll the red flags and reasons she shouldn't, Sienna agrees to "fake date" Theo for a week, joining him and his brothers at his family's lakehouse cabin for their annual summer trip. In exchange, Sienna will get a connection and possible interview with Rose City Designs, her dream company and the top architecture firm in the nation. All she has to do is help Theo convince his brothers that they are an item. Easy peasy, right? I enjoyed this fake dating, only one bed, close proximity, friends-to-lovers-ish romance. It is a slow-burning romance by nature because Theo and Sienna have to get to know each other in the throes of their fake dating. It's well worth the wait, in my opinion! I liked each of these characters individually as well as together. Sienna is a hard worker, to her detriment at times. She's obsessed with finding a job, and it often gets in the way of her enjoying life. Theo is funny and kind at heart despite what his brothers think. He tries his best to get Sienna out of her shell, and I think the two of them impact one another by the time the book is over. Theo and Sienna have great chemistry with one another. They have terrific banter and poke a lot of fun at one another. They even have some inside jokes throughout the book that made me laugh. Theo's brothers put on an annual "Kane Family Games" shindig, and that makes for some zany shenanigans between all of the characters. Sienna also invites her friend, Beth, along for the summer trip, so there are some good friendship conversations between the two of them. Obviously, Beth is going to pair up with one of the other brothers in the next book, at least I assume she will! I found this to be a well-paced book without much filler. Even though there is a third-act break-up, I think it works within the context of this story, given that the two of them are fake-dating, so go in knowing that! This is a solid debut novel, and I cannot wait to see what comes next in this series!

ARC Review!
Safe to say I ate this UPPP! Literally inhaled this book in 2 days I didn’t want to put it down! I knew I was going to love it when I saw the artwork for it. It had everything that was perfect for a summer romance- fake dating, forced proximity, one bed, summer lake house setting; I enjoyed it all! I also really liked Makenna Cleaver’s writing style and how descriptive she made the scenes throughout the book.
Loved loved LOVED the characters so much! Sienna is so driven yet so sweet I truly loved her character. She reminds me of me a bit with her plan to have a successful future (in her terms) and wanting to have her life together. I love how well Theo balanced her personality out and allowed her to let go and have fun. He was seriously the sweetest fake boyfriend ever! I just love the way he would describe his appreciation for her beauty, not just externally, but internally too- I love when men are written by women.
Don’t get me started on the brothers ugh they were SO fun and they all made me laugh with their brotherly dynamic, it made me wish I had a brother. I seriously can’t wait for Alex and Beth’s both I just know it’s going to be soo good. I’m so grateful to have received this ARC. First things first, I was easily drawn to the FMC because I am also studying Architecture and this story clearly depicted how hard it is to have a career in the field. Sienna was firm with her future plans and how she should strictly follow it to be successful was so relatable, because I have also done that. Not thinking about anything else besides the fact that I should build my career and be successful. I love how her parents reiterated that true success is quieter than you would suspect and success means nothing if you have no one to share it with.
Theo’s story was so well written and I love how the story represented their family dynamic. His character development was done well too. I liked how he always complimented Sienna and how he admired her work and ambition.
Overall, this book was amazing no doubt, but I somehow lost track in the middle. However, as I continued it, the story picked up on the third act and I cannot put it down anymore. This deserves everyone’s attention!

I ATE THIS UP!! if you know me you know i LOVE a fake dating trope and this one absolutely delivered!! i loved theo!! i have slowly been leaning more towards golden retriever MMCs (which is CRAZY for me) but he was giving golden retriever with great flirty banter and it was perfect!! sienna was a great FMC she knows what she wants and is willing to do anything to get there. i appreciated that their problems were not solved immediately and so easily, it makes it feel more believable!! i loved the chemistry between the two of them and their banter!
i loved the family dynamic between the brothers and the added in competition of the “kane family games” to help showcase the brothers’ personalities and relationships as well as adding some fun, flirty moments in for theo and sienna (hellooooooo blue striped bikini)
now i NEED the next book because enemies to lovers and forced proximity???? oh i am SO ready!!

This book was just so perfect for summer. It literally feels like if you squeezed the essence of summer into a book. This was an amazing read, and it’s even more impressive considering it’s Makenna’s debut novel.
I loved the development between Sienna and Theo but also their personal journeys as they transition from college into their professional lives. Considering I’m nearing that point in my life (yuck), their story resonated with me that much more.
While it feels weird calling this found family since the family being found (you know what I’m trying to say) is literally family. This book was SUUUUCH good found family. I really felt like that despite it being Theo’s story, it was a comprehensive introduction to all of the brothers and the eventual rest of the series. I especially liked how the book set up a really clean transition to Alex and Beth’s story.
I obviously love Theo and Sienna, but I really, reaaaaally enjoyed the snippets of Alex and Beth! Maybe it’s the enemies-to-lovers lover in me haha. I think this book had such great romance, but the platonic bonds that all the characters have as well were really heart warming.
I feel like the Jennifer Coolidge clip of “makes me want a hot dog real bad” but “makes me want to tie-dye a t-shirt real bad”

Not gonna lie, I giggled a little bit when Theo almost had a heart attack when Siena was invited to the family get together as Theos girlfriend. But she had her own agenda. Good for her. This was such a great read seeing these two navigate one another around the family. And Siena fit in so well. So I guess it was a good thing that the two of them fell for one another.

This was such a fun and easy to devour romance! I loved how the book kicked off right away with the main characters having an initial pull to each other when they met for the first time. The fact that both characters went on for some time thinking about the other constantly until they finally ran into each other again was such fun anticipation that kept me invested!
The fake dating storyline along with the summer trip with family, the relationship that blossomed and the delicious banter that these two had made this such a fun story to get lost in!

I LOVED this book!!! My favorite romance subgenre is definitely fake dating, and this book ticked all the boxes for the perfect romance book for me. I wasn’t bored at any point and I loved the characters. I loved all of the brothers and the dynamics between them, and can’t wait for the stories of the three other guys 😍 I laughed and cried with Sienna, and I couldn’t imagine a more perfect book for me 😍

I can’t believe this is a debut! This was so well put together that if I wasn’t an arc reader and just randomly picked it up, I wouldn’t have thought so!
Sienna and Theo had such great chemistry and banter throughout that just made the book so fun and put a smile on my face. Strangers to friends to lovers is one of the best ways to do it, and they nailed that.

Such a great debut!! I loved Sienna and Theo! Their chemistry from the moment in the diner had me excited for what was to come! I loved the fake dating and how they both tried not to let their growing feelings towards one another show too much.. but also trying to pass their relationship off as genuine to Theo’s brothers. I enjoyed the banter between them and think it made the slow burn worth it. I also really loved the other Kane brothers and cannot wait for Alex and Beth’s story!

Fake It With You was an amazing, funny read that was filled with banter and tension that I hungrily ate up 🤍 Sienna and Theo have such a sweet relationship with red hot chemistry between the two of them! I loved seeing them grow closer and being able to bring out each other’s smiles easily. They really clicked, and I loved all of the side characters and how they all fit in perfectly to Sienna and Theo’s story 😌 Beth, Roman, Alex, and Leo were all different, great characters that I liked a lot, and I thought they each added a lot of depth, humor, and fun to the storyline! From the Kane summer competition to Sienna’s 10 year plan, I really loved every part of this book, and I am super excited to read about Beth and Alex next!! 🤍
Sienna is very hardworking, motivated and driven, and I admired her character so much 🤍 She has a plan that she is determined to stick to and sure doesn’t expect Theo to come along and create a little hiccup for her! I loved her personality and the way she could fire it right back at him, it only highlighted their great chemistry 🤍 Not only that, but she fit in perfectly with Theo’s family dynamic, getting along with Leo and Alex, and even warming up to Roman! It was really heartwarming, but also a tearjerker, in the ways that she was able to help them all heal a little bit and give them back something that they all needed 🥺 She goes through major mindset changes because of what happens, Theo, and her parents, but it really helped her grow and mature as a character, and I really enjoyed seeing her thoughts evolve! Her friendship with Beth was funny and supportive, and I really liked their side conversations and found a lot of them really funny 😂 I’m definitely very excited to see more of and learn about Beth, and surely see a bit of Sienna too 🤍
Theo is such a major sweetheart, and I loved his character so much 🤍 He has it all—the thoughtfulness and attentiveness, sweet and spiciness, and the confident and vulnerable sides to him that all gave his personality a lot of depth! He has an instant pull towards Sienna, and it was very amusing seeing him try, and fail, to restrain himself and his thoughts around her! But just as he teases her, she meets his level and even beats him at his own game you could say 😏 But she also brought out his more vulnerable side and was able to help him heal in ways that were very special and meaningful to him, and it was sweet that she could also help his brothers too 🤍 He has a different kind of relationship with each of his brothers and that added a lot of depth and dynamic! I thought the plot was well written and paced as well. The summer games were super fun and the interactions between everyone were hilarious! Beth, Roman, Leo, and Alex all blended in great, were likable, and they each added so much to the story 🤍 Sienna and Theo have instant chemistry and a whole lot of fun together, blurring the lines in a way that makes you need them together!! This was a read that I really enjoyed and found to be entertaining, sweet, spicy, and heartwarming 🤍 I cannot wait for Beth and Alex’s story to come out!! 🤍

Fake It With You is such a fun and heartwarming debut from Makenna Cleaver. It has all the tropes I love—fake dating, forced proximity, only one bed, and a slow-burn romance—but what really made this book stand out was the character growth and the incredible family dynamic.
Theo has spent most of college being the carefree party guy, assuming he'd naturally have a place waiting for him at Kane Construction, the family business his older brother secretly built after their parents passed away. As graduation approaches, reality finally hits him—wanting the job isn't enough. He has to prove that he's mature enough to earn it. In an attempt to convince his brothers he's finally grown up, Theo comes up with the idea of bringing home a girlfriend for the summer.
Sienna is about to graduate with a degree in architecture and is desperately trying to land a job in an industry that doesn't seem willing to give her a chance. She's worked herself to exhaustion because she's determined not to live the life she thought her parents had growing up—comfortable but never luxurious. One of my favorite parts of her journey was realizing that her parents had intentionally lived below their means, making sacrifices so they could nearly pay off their home and truly enjoy retirement. It was a refreshing reminder that success isn't always measured by flashy lifestyles or job titles.
Theo and Sienna's fake relationship starts as a business arrangement that benefits them both, but their chemistry, playful banter, and genuine friendship make it impossible not to root for them. Their relationship develops naturally, and I loved watching them slowly help each other realize there's more to life than constantly proving yourself through work.
The Kane family completely stole the show for me. The annual Kane Family Games were hilarious and brought out so much personality in every character. The brothers have such a believable bond that you can't help but want to spend more time with them. And then there's Beth and Alex...their constant back-and-forth had me smiling every time they were on the page. The witty banter, sarcastic jabs, and undeniable tension between them have me so excited to see where their story goes next.
I also appreciated that the romance wasn't rushed. The slow burn gave Theo and Sienna time to really know each other, making their relationship feel authentic instead of forced. Watching Theo grow from someone who expected things to be handed to him into someone willing to earn respect was one of my favorite character arcs in the book.
Overall, Fake It With You is a cozy, feel-good romance full of laughs, heart, lovable side characters, and meaningful personal growth. If you enjoy fake dating, close-knit family dynamics, witty banter, slow-burn romance, and characters who challenge each other to become better versions of themselves, this is absolutely worth picking up. I can't wait to return to the Kane family in the next book.

First off a huge thank you to Love Notes PR and Makenna Cleaver for the ARC. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the fake dating to get jobs but I LOVED this book.
Sienna is wound up tight, she has a firm 10 year plan that requires her to get a job at an architecture firm by the end of summer.
Theo is a party kid who needs to prove to his brother that he can be serious enough to be made partner at the family construction company.
After a single phone call with his older brother Theo has managed to put him in an incredibly bad situation. He needs a girlfriend and fast for his families annual lake trip.
The tension in this slow burn romance was insane. The book had all of the tropes I know and love. Plus Siennas best friend, Beth, had me giggling nonstop. I think Beth might be my soul sister and I can’t wait to hopefully see more of her witty banter in book two.
Theo’s growth throughout the book is beautiful and watching Sienna figure out how to relax and have fun was healing for the soul.

This book was SO,SO GOOD.
Even from the start I can say I was really intrigued of how this one s gonna go,it gave me that really dark-ish vibe,that it was what I needed to stay in and never go away from these ages again.But,as the story flew,I discovered an amazing heartwarming,we-shouldn't romance,that the least I can say was addictive.In the trope,we have the beloved fake dating,that I can say with certainty it was honored through Cleaver's writing.You see,the writing style is making you wanting to read more,cause you clearly see that there is even more to that than what you are already discovering in the page you currently are,but this feeling is just keep going and keep going until you have reached the epilogue.
Now getting into the characters,you find two wonderful people and a more wonderful couple that it is to be.Sienna,shows the perspective of you have 1082991 degrees and know 399292 languages but in this workplace YOU CANNOT FIND A JOB!Which is an every day reality scenario,but the hot stranger that asks you to fake it for him,unfortunately,is not.So,see gets tangled in this mysterious romance that makes her re think her own life again ,and in the end we literally have a brand new Sienna,that I love(go queen✨)
Theo,on the other side is a more complex character,with many things on his plate since he was a kid,and always feeling left out,however life has her own path for him,and I can say the way everything unfolded for him,in his personal and romantic life was worth crying for,just when he understood how much everyone loves him and what the sacrificed for him was beautiful to read,and of course...our HEA was just around the corner at this point.
Wrapping it up, Fake It With You does not use big scenes or words to amaze you,just pure love from everyone to anyone.

I went into Fake It With You expecting a fun fake dating romance, but I ended up getting so much more. This story perfectly balances romance, personal growth, family, and humor, all wrapped up in the most charming summer lake house setting. It's hard to believe this is Makenna Cleaver's debut because it felt so polished and effortlessly enjoyable from beginning to end.
Theo was easily one of my favorite parts of the book. Everyone around him seemed to see him as the carefree younger brother who wasn't ready to be taken seriously, but there was so much more to him than that. He was patient, thoughtful, funny, and genuinely wanted to prove that he was capable of building something meaningful for himself. I especially loved how he encouraged Sienna without trying to change her. Instead of asking her to fit into his life, he looked for ways to fit into the future she had already worked so hard to build. That level of support made him such an easy character to root for.
Sienna was equally enjoyable to read. She was ambitious, organized, and so focused on achieving her career goals that she rarely gave herself permission to slow down and enjoy the present. I found her incredibly relatable because she put so much pressure on herself to have everything figured out before graduation. Watching her slowly realize that success doesn't have to come at the expense of happiness was one of my favorite parts of her journey. She grew so much throughout the story while still staying true to the determined person she had always been.
Together, Theo and Sienna just worked. Their chemistry felt natural, their banter had me smiling constantly, and I loved that their relationship developed through friendship before either of them admitted what they were feeling. The Kane Family Games added so much humor to the story, and I found myself looking forward to every scene with Theo's brothers. Beth was another standout character, and after spending time with this group, I'm already excited to see where the rest of the series goes. This was the perfect feel-good summer romance, and I can't wait to see what Makenna Cleaver writes next.

First Impressions: Sienna and Theo, recent college graduates, make a fake-dating pact to hedge each other's chances at securing employment find themselves with very real feelings - and consequences.
Pacing: The book takes place over about 4 months, and the passage of time feels natural.
Character development: Sienna (FMC) is a strong-willed, intelligent, and ambitious young woman with her sights set on her 10 year plan for advancing her career in architecture. Her parents are concerned this plan leaves little time for leisure or love. Theo (MMC) is the youngest of four brothers, and is desperate to prove himself worthy of a position with the family construction business despite his playboy reputation. His oldest brother raised the boys after their parents died in a terrible accident, and is not inclined to grant Theo a free ride. Over the course of the both, the MCs build a genuine friendship, and learn valuable lessons from one another. Sienna learns that a life in pursuit of wealth and notoriety, without anyone to to share it with, is an empty one. Theo, after experiencing several hard lessons, learns that careers and relationships require hardworking, planning, and sacrifice.
World Building: Most of the book takes place at the Kane family summer house, which is described as a rustic but lush escape from city life. Artifacts of the Kane brothers' years with the parents and their summers spent together at the property anchoring a lot of the emotional component of the storytelling.
Romance: While both MCs are physically attracted to each other at the start of the book, Theo is absolutely smitten with Sienna the moment he meets her. His fake-dating plan serves a secondary purpose of trying to woe Sienna into a real relationship. While there are a few ups and downs, and an obligatory Third Act break-up, our MCs do get their HEA.
Spice: There's definitely a lot yearning early on, but the story gets quite a bit spicier in Act Two. The spice isn't pervasive, and aids the progress of the romance.
Errors and Consistency: This was a tidy draft.
Overall experience: This was so cute! I cannot wait to meet the rest of the Kane brothers as main characters, especially Roman.

I absolutely loved this book. 🥹🤍 It’s honestly hard to believe this is Makenna Cleaver’s debut because it didn’t feel like one at all.
One of my favorite things was definitely the characters. Sienna was so easy to relate to, especially as someone who loves having a plan and feels like reaching your goals is what will make you happy. Watching her realize that there’s so much more to life than just work was really beautiful. And Theo… he’s officially one of my favorite book boyfriends. He was funny, charming, incredibly attentive, and so patient with Sienna. The way he understood her plans and didn’t want to disrupt them and just wanted to find a way to be included in them was everything.🥹
The chemistry between them was so much fun. Their banter was flirty, playful, and had me smiling and giggling so many times. I also loved that the fake dating didn’t stay “fake” for long, but their feelings still developed naturally. Watching them go from strangers, to friends, to lovers felt so believable, and I couldn’t help but root for them the entire time. There was also one moment with Theo that completely broke my heart, and I just wanted to give him the biggest hug.🫶🏻
The found family in this book was everything. Theo and his brothers were such a fun group, and I loved how naturally they welcomed Beth and Sienna into their family. Their annual competition was one of my favorite parts of the book. It was chaotic, wholesome, hilarious, and made me wish I could be there with them. The brothers were all so interesting that I’m already counting down the days until we get to read their stories too.🤭
The lake house getaway was the perfect setting and made everything feel even cozier. It was the kind of book that had me smiling one minute and emotional the next, and I genuinely didn’t want it to end.☺️
If you love fake dating, found family, lovable side characters, flirty banter, and romances that leave you with the biggest smile on your face, I can’t recommend this one enough. I’ll definitely be reading whatever Makenna writes next. 🤍

First of all thank you to Makenna Cleaver and Love Notes PR for allowing me to read and review eARC of Fake It With You. I got the eARC copy in exchange of book review and social media content, and my honest review is based of my own reading and not directed by anyone.
When the book blurb showed up on Love Notes PR I honestly interested. Fake relationship is usually a light reading genre, usually followed with rom-com cliches that is perfect for light reading. But when I read this book, I would say 'light' and 'packed a punch' would suit best to describe Makenna Cleaver's debut book.
Of course when I read a book what I'm looking forward the most is the character development and the world building. I might say the character development between the lead character, Sienna and Theo, are what I paid more attention to. I feel like Sienna's character is strong from the start but slowly her progression showing her delicate side. As for Theo, I feel that his character showing more development on the last 30% of the book, while the first 70% was mostly developed by his interaction with Sienna.
I must say the world building, especially for the side characters which I think all the brothers would have their own books and story to tell, is very promising. I love Roman character, I feel like peeling all his character in his own book would be what I'm looking forward the most.

Theo was really a heartthrob. He was made out of be the playboy but honey this guy was pure sunshine and a cinnamon roll. As soon as he saw Sienna he was down bad😭 The man tried to play it off but she was stuck in his mind daily. I am a absolute sucker for fake dating. Especially when the man is the one to initiate said fake dating. What started off fake quickly turned into these two not being able to keep their hands to themselves 😚
He was truly such a sweetheart and I loved how determined he was to get Sienna her job💗
Now....Sienna....you are THAT GIRL. Honestly I bow down to her. She was such a hardworking woman and it was HOT. 😭😭😭 I love that she had a plan in life she worked so hard on to not give it up on something she didnt want. Accepting being Theos fake girlfriend didnt fall in those plans but with high hopes at the end it would turn into her dream job. Girly walked out with a man and a job she never thought shes get💅
The vibes? Immaculate. I could easily picture the location and the place they were staying. The dates they went on. It was all 😚🤌
Now.....there was a part that had my heart in my ass and I may have slipped in the dms completely shocked cause I was NOT EXPECTING THAT. It threw everything for a loop and made Theo work harder to get his girl and I was HERE FOR IT.😩

I had the honors to read an ARC from this book. I gotta say I FREAKEN LOVED IT!!
This book is a good summer read, it had fake dating, slow burn, only one bed, & he falls first! It was such a good book. I love all the characters, especially the Kane Brothers. Theo, being the youngest of the Kane Brothers, had such an ambition to show his older brother how mature he is. He is the sweetest but yet wants to have fun when he can. Pairing with Ms. Sienna, she’s such an angel, sweet, kind, and a hard worker. She reminded me a little of me, she knows what she wants and works hard for it. At the same time, it’s she learns how to love things and anyone around her. These two characters combine so well, they were so adorable 😭😭
The slow burn was soooo good, I needed to know when Theo and Sienna were gonna tell each other how they felt! It made me so mad at times when they had the best times! They were so cute “trying” not to have feelings. 🤭 Theo falling for her first! When he saw her for the first time! It was sooo cute when he couldn’t stop thinking about her and how many times he ran into her. I needed them together ASAP!
Lastly, I need to know more about Alex and Beth! Like Beth is a little spicy! 😅 enemies to lovers is my thing too! I need to know!!! I am dying! Oh my gosh Leo, a CHEF!!!, I can see him cooking for his girl! 😭how romantic! 🩵 and Roman, the CEO, he’s so silent and to himself! I love it!!! 🤭 my weakness on characters like him!!! They are living rent free in my head! 😩🫣
I am excited to read more about the Kane Brothers, I need to know more about Alex, Leo, & Roman! 😍🤭 A boxer, chef, & a CEO, I neeeeeeed to know!!

What a DEBUT! This beautiful romcom has all of my fav tropes, fake dating, one bed, a cocky but sweet MMC and lots of yearning! It is the first book of the Kane brothers and i can not wait to read all of their stories!
In this book we follow Sienna and and Theo, both graduating college. Sienna is organised, has a 10 year plan to garantee succes and determined to achieve her goals. She has no room for distractions or a special someone whatsoever. There is just problem. For her plan to work, she needs to find and start a job at the end of summer, and even though she applied to literally anything available related to her degree, she only gets rejected.
Theo is getting his bachelor in business and has his mind set on joining the family business to expand. His brother, CEO, is not helping with this wish. He feels Theo is not taking his life serious and is not budging. In order to persuade his brother, Theo lies about having a serious relationship, telling his girlfriend opened his eyes and he is settling down. When his brother invites this girlfriend to the traditional summer trip they take in the summer, Theo needs to find a fake girlfriend.
Enter Sienna. They make a deal. They fake date during this trip. Theo gets to show his brother he is grown up to a responsable and reliable man, and in return, he will help her use their expertise in the field to find her a job. They set rules to keep this "business-transaction" clear, but neither of them was prepared how badly they want to break each one.
The book is fast-paced, has lots of humor, a heartwarming family feel and just makes you feel happy. Cleaver wrote a wonderfull story that is worthy between the other romcoms and I truely can not wait to read the rest of the series. As a debut, she started very strong, and I will def recommend!

I devoured this book, and couldn’t put it down until I’d finished it! I had high expectations, and they weren’t let down – I loved it. I really liked the writing style and the way all the descriptions were crafted, it made me want to step into the story and actually be there.
I loved Sienna and Theo. I loved how, together, they managed to find a balance and become the best versions of themselves. As for the other characters, I don’t even know what to say. Do I want to read the stories about all the siblings? Yes, definitely!! Not only do they have great chemistry between them, but they’re also really funny and serious when they need to be.
It was a fantastic read and I had a brilliant time, but what on earth was that ending?!?! What was her surprise? Was it blue lingerie, or did she have the same idea as him?? I really needed to see her reaction to his proposal!! Bring on the next story!!
“At least she texted me back. Now I just have to figure out how to ask her to be my fake girlfriend for the summer.”
“I think part of me still wants to thank him for saving my laptop and planner the day I saw him in the diner. Yeah, and the other part of you has spent the past four weeks thinking about his smile.”

This book was sooooooo good, I really really really loved all the characters, (especially Beth) and the character develop ment is great. There is a third act break up, but I like how they resolved it, and how Theo got to rethink some of his decisions because of it. The reason of said break up isn’t unreasonable, but it’s honestly kind of childish. I still loved this book, and I would totally recommend it!

What I liked:

🎥 The movie night scene! The build up the author described !!
🥵 when spicy scenes popped up? The author draws you in!
What I didn’t like:
😬 Some of the scenes were cringy. For instance when Theo discusses his parents passed in the car, she touched his shoulder and it just gets awkward? I visualize when I read and it just didn’t make sense. Avoiding eye contact etc.
👨 this seemed more of a build up for Alex’s love story. Not that I mind getting a glimpse at one next book. Just wanted more Sienna and Theo glances and small intimate moments like what was given to Alex.

🥵 when spicy scenes popped up? The author draws you in!
What I didn’t like:
😬 Some of the scenes were cringy. For instance when Theo discusses his parents passed in the car, she touched his shoulder and it just gets awkward? I visualize when I read and it just didn’t make sense. Avoiding eye contact etc.
👨 this seemed more of a build up for Alex’s love story. Not that I mind getting a glimpse at one next book. Just wanted more Sienna and Theo glances and small intimate moments like what was given to Alex.
