Geronimo Stilton #11

Halloween: lach of ik schiet

Rate this book

Aww, what an adorable story, just in time for Halloween! I loved reading Geronimo Stilton books as a child, and have now started reading them again, especially the seasonal ones.

One of aspects of Geronimo Stilton books that I love the most is how the books incorporate mouse-themed elements into the series. For example, in this book, Geronimo mentioned that his neighbour gave out moldy Cheesy Chews to trick-or-treaters. Imagine getting such a "treat" yourself!

Another aspect of this book that I enjoyed was the use of recurring characters from other books in the series. In this book, Creepella von Cracklefur makes an appearance. We'll learn more about her and her family in another book in the series.

Lastly, this book includes portions of the book that Geronimo was writing. Geronimo's Halloween book starts with a brief history of Halloween, before launching into games, crafts, costumes, makeup, and recipes that readers can try for Halloween. These activities would be perfect for young readers to try at home. I believe that this is the first time that we've been shown one of Geronimo's books, as he writes a book about each of the adventures that he has throughout each book in the series.

Do give this a read. It'll bring back childhood memories.

Okay so MAYBE yours truly has fallen down a rabbit hole of nostalgia and MAYBE her solution to this phenomenon is to read an overabundance of kid's books. And MAYBE the time of year provides an excuse to read nothing but horror and/or autumn-themed books, further reinforcing the presiding sense of nostalgia.

Maybe.

FINE, all of that is true, and I started off my 2 spooky reading months with this little nugget of my childhood. I never actually read this particular volume as a kid, but I loved the Geronimo Stilton universe. And it's easy to see why - the fonts are visually engaging to the point of leaping off the pages, the characters are colorful, the adventures are always zany. But it doesn't really hold up that well 15 years later. Every joke is a mouse pun. The plot is too simplistic to hold an adult's attention. But it is aimed at 6 year olds, so I guess I can't judge it too harshly. Although my need to revisit the series has been satisfied, Geronimo will always hold a place in my heart.

4/5.

Actually, Halloween is not scary. In this book, Geronimo Stilton had a nephew called Benjamin. He had an interest in scary books, so he asked his uncle (Geronimo) for help. After that, both of them went all along the scary house for writing a scary Halloween book. Then they asked help from Creepella Von Cacklefur for a scary costume. At last, the book that they wrote was "It's Halloween, You 'Fraidy Mouse!". This book was one of the most interesting ones I read recently.

I enjoyed the book because it was two books in one. The book was funny. Every time something exciting happened I had a exciting picture in my mind. My favorite part of the book was when Geronimo flooded his house then there was a fire. He fell out of his apartment twice and landed in water.

I think the theme for this book is to not always think your gonna have a bad day on the day you hate. The settting for this book is at the Rodents Gazzet and at Creepelas graveyard/house, the main characters are Geronimo, Creepela, Thea, Benjamin, Trap, and Tina. In this book the person who tells the story is Geronimo, it starts off ans any other book he has writte but more scarier. Geronimo is scared or frightend by hallowen he doesn’t like it one bit, but he has to write a halloween book on costumes, tricks, and how to make delicouse treats. Since he does not know a single thing about halloween tricks, costumes, and treats, he has to ask for help from one of his assistants friends. Her name is Creepela she is a very creey mouse who lives in a cemetary, because her dad runs a coffin buiseness. So Creepela helped him out and even got a little crush on Geronimo which made im every uncomfortable.

I think that this book is good and I would recomend this to a classmate. The reason why i would recomend this to a classmate is because, this book is very interesting at the same time funny. This book is interesting because Geronimo is talking about halloween and he hates halloween so it was very interesting for me to read about him writting a book on halloween. The other reason on why this book is funnty is because Creepela has a crush for Geronimo and Geronimo thinks that she is atractive but just to scray and creepy for him, and Creepela gets really obessed and says “ If I find out that any other mouse likes you I am gonna stratch their eyeballs out”. Geronimos reactions is just really scared and he wants to go home but other than that this was a good book. I feel that the writting of tis book is very creative because he used different colors and fonts for differnt words and I find it very cool and creative. This book is a series but not on the same story but I do wish that there was a series to this book it was very good. I think that out of all the Geronimo Stilton books this one is my favirote because Geronimo is a very adventerous guy and in this adventure he was really scared and he usually is never scared, but overall this was a good book.

In this Geronimo book it starts off right into the story which was nice. Some of the other books they draw out the introduction for a chapter or so and I almost loose my special needs teen age son whom I've been reading this series to. But this one caught his attention (and even my other special needs teen age son that doesn't like to have books read to him; he 'hung around' in the room and listened as I read this book.) This is a Halloween book filled with tricks and pranks Geronimo's family does on him. His niece sends him to her close friend but forgets to tell him she lives in a funeral parlor at the cemetery. So this book 'could' scare younger or easily scared children. But it's written in such fun that my boys liked it. My husband over heard me reading it and after I finished he said "That book was just wrong..." so this episode may not be for everyone...

Read this as a french book call 'la bal de tenebrax' probably the reason why i rated it so low since I only understood a little more than half of the words. Would have been a good book but from the way I understood the context, the plot was a bit shallow

Its 31 October - Halloween, and Geronimo doesn't like it as its the scariest holiday of the year. He asks his assistant Pinky Pick for Halloween advise. And ends up in a cemetery with Creepella von Cacklefur.

My girls really like the Geronimo Stilton books. This was fun to read together to get us in the mood for Halloween. I'm sure if I was in the age range of 3-12 I would have given it a higher rating.

I was confused whether to read this series because it was meant for children. Anyway I was lured by the illustrations and thought of reading it to relax my mood. If you want to develop your imagination, I recommend this book because, the characters and the life of rodent portrayed here is really interesting. I was intrigued by the ideas of this book.. A good book which can bring back your memories of childhood...

Halloween has finally arrived on Mouse Island, which means that Geronimo is in for a wild ride the whole night long as his family pranks, fears, and drags him into one scare after the other! Dami gives one of the scariest - and funniest - entries to the "Geronimo Stilton" series yet with this enjoyable adventure. Home truly is where the heart is - if you can keep it from jumping out of your chest!

Cute story. Geronimo and his nephew are adorable. Still not sure who's kid he is because I don't think he's Thea's kid. Trap is pretty awful though. And Thea is pushy and demanding. It was hilarious when he snaps at her though. Creepella is entertaining. Not sure why her physical description looks nothing like her though. The book says she has black fur and green eyes but she has grey fur and purple eyes. Her dad is hilarious too. Always making death puns.

The main event is when Benjamin ran into the nearest house for help. Their car broke down when they were trick or treating. when he got to the door he heard some squeaking inside. Benjamin got scared and ran back down to the car. He told geronimo so they went to investigate. I would give to book 5 stars because it is a great book to read for book reports.

Ok, now I can cross that off of the list. I never have to read another Geronimo Stilton book again. I'm glad kids love them, but I definitely did not. I found Geronimo's personality to be annoying. The font changes were sometimes neat, but sometimes completely unnecessary.

I read a few chapters each night of this book to my kids at bedtime, and they loved it. Very nicely written and cute for kids. Geronimo writes a book about Halloween, which is not one of his favorite holidays, so he asks for help to learn more about the Holiday.

lololol this was like a graphic novel even when I were younger. It relies heavily on the pictures and different fonts for words but it is really cute. So cute that I want to go back some years when I had no worries or misery as I read this.

It was nice I liked that story. At the front page there is mouse ghost so I think it was scary but it was funny.
