This is the 2nd book in a row now where I figured out what was happening way before the reveal. I've never been good at predicting much in the way of twists so either I'm getting better or this was way too easy to figure out.

The FMC is infuriating. The writing itself is repetitive. What husband wouldn't ask more questions when his wife keeps having episodes and issues every day for many days? It was too unbelievable of behavior.

Quick read and entertaining still.

This book had some surprises but it was a little far-fetched - even though it is fiction I still like it to be a bit believable - some parts maybe but a few key characters and parts of the story just seemed to be totally unlikely. But I did get through it fairly fast - I had to keep reading to find out what happened.

I did finish the book but came close to not doing so. I haven’t read this author before and was surprised to see this isn’t their first book, although they have only written one before. the inconsistencies are annoying and distracting. Harry states the age he was when the disappearance happened then a few pages later he doesn’t seem sure how old he was at the time. Charlie ate waffles and then a few pages later it was pancakes that she ate.


The one that was the worst was the fact that on the back cover and first chapter there were three months between Leila’s disappearance and finding her body, then later Mr Shaw comments on it being a few weeks, and then finally it is stated to have been only a week.

The twists were not that hard to see coming, I was hoping that Theo wasn’t what I thought he was, as it seemed so obvious.

There were plot holes you could drive a bus through and they were pretty obvious, nothing really held together.

I won’t be reading anymore from this author.

I love a good thriller and this did not disappoint. Even though we are told who the real killer is in this story, it kept me engaged and wanting to read more. I cannot imagine keeping such a secret for so long and not unraveling sooner. But when you live in constant fear you can tell yourself anything to survive.

The first half of the book was very redundant. I figured out the notes almost immediately. It was very slow to read. The second half of the book was better but again too many repeats of the same story. The ending was good but not a shock. Kind of figured that out by then. Overall it wasn’t a terrible book, I would recommend for a book club to see how many figure it out quickly.

The story was kind of slow at first. The more I read I couldn't put it down. The end blow my mind. I wasn't thinking it was who it was.
