Pain is a lasting feeling, emotion, and can consume a person without any discrimination. Amy Holland knew all too well what pain did to someone. She has been living with it for far too long, and it is all because of her father.
Reese “Joker” Whitman has put his old life behind him. He is now just Joker, part of The Soldiers of Wrath, an outlaw MC that rules his town. Despite the hard edge he carries around, the violence and destruction he’s been known to deliver, Joker wants Amy, the daughter of the woman his father married. Amy might be considered family, but she isn’t blood, and he wants her more than he’s ever wanted anyone in his life. However, he has to tread lightly, because she’s been hurt, and she may never be able to give herself fully to him.
When she finally sees Joker for who he is, it isn’t fear or pain that consumes her; it is hope and desire. But can she give herself to the biker when she sees herself as too damaged to be loved?

Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
This is book two of the Soldiers of Wrath MC series, and is written by two authors; Jenika Snow and Sam Crescent. After being a little disappointed with the first story of the series, I can admit that this one held my attention a lot better, and there were some definite improvements as far as I am concerned. I felt in this installment there was more of a storyline, and less of a "porn-like" feel to the book! There was sex of course, but it didn't over take the story, and it was way better written.
Joker is the VP of the Solders of Wrath and he has been in love with his step-sister for many years. The trouble with Amy though, is she feels she is broken due to her sexual abuse in the past. She has been trying to deal with being raped by her father and doesn't know if she will ever be whole enough to be what Joker needs. (she is also in love with him..) After Amy's mother dies, she is left alone, and that is when Joker decides it is time to claim his woman.
The men in this series are what I consider to be very alpha male. They are all quite dominant, but they do love their women fiercely. I have always enjoyed the possessive and dominating males, so I do tend to enjoy the stories that have them in it-even if at times they can be extreme. Is this series the best MC series out there? I wouldn't say the best; but it is holding my attention for now, enough that I wish to see what happens with some of the other members. Each story is just over 100 pages long, and it is a very reasonable price. Great series when you are looking for a fast and easy read.
Quick, entertaining read. It was a bit all over the place with other characters' dialogue considering it is a novella. Still enjoyed it and planning on reading a couple of the other books in the series.
This book had huge triggers for me,rape of the heroine by her father(I need brain bleach now)but I am a huge fan of both authors and was compelled to read this book.Loved the hero Joker, and really felt for the heroine. Will def read the next in this series .Now to find a non trigger book.
While I love both Sam and Jenika I was unbelievably disappointed in their last collaboration 'Owned by the Bastard' but one thing I did like from that book was Joker, his story, or the bit we got was intriguing which is the point I know, so I started this book partially excited to see where Jokers story took us and partially nervous hoping it would be better than the previous one. Amy was abused by her father and it's left her broken and while she has her mother, her mother's new husband David and his son Reese who all love her she's still broken and believes she always will be. Amy is very attracted to Reese but feels she's not good enough and besides she can't overcome her past enough to have any kind of a future with anyone. In this book Reese has become Joker the VP for The Soldiers of Wrath and he's waited enough, he's wanted Amy for years and he's not waiting any longer. This book deals with a difficult subject and it wasn't always easy reading but I really wanted Joker and Amy to find their peace, this book was so much better than the last collaboration and now I'm wondering who will get the next book will it be Shakes or Steel.
I was pretty much obsessed with the series from the 1st book I wanted more from the very beginning... There is just something about this one that makes me feel all sexy!!
Jokers story was one hell of a story.. He was dark way darker than I thought he was going to be. He is like the ultimate ALPHA male!!
He gets what he wants and he wants to officially make Amy his and gosh it is so damn hot!!
I just adored this book had the perfect mix of everything had me all hot and bothered with butterflies in my belly!!
Really liked this. A much more well rounded story than Book 1. Reese/Joker and Amy are step-siblings. At 16, Amy accidentally sees Reese having sex with, and dominating, his female lover, and they're forced to confront the situation. Reese leaves to join an MC and, on the night of his going away party, he and Amy kiss. She, however, is still emotionally scarred from sexual abuse from her dad, not to mention underage so that's all they share. When her mother dies five years later, Reese's dad calls him back home. Reese has to help Amy deal with her grief, and help her heal herself from her father's damage that still plagued her.
I loved this couple. Reese/Joker is the MC's VP, and is not one to be messed with, but he is so gentle with Amy. You won't get Demon's (Book 1) Neanderthal antics here. Reese sets his dominant nature aside to ease Amy into everything they do, and though he does instruct her in the bedroom as to what he likes, he never ties her up or performs other BDSM acts. They were just really sweet, without being corny, and I really enjoyed this book.
The author's writing shows improvement here, though there are still a few moments that seem a bit immature.
Jenika Snow and Sam Crescent you ladies are amazing and this series is soooo good!!!
I enjoyed everything about this book. Even though Amy thought that she was broken, Joker never gave up on her and he was so patient with her and did everything at her pace.
Loved it, can't wait for the next one.
Who is going to be about? Shakes? Steel?? Bring it on!!!
These series gets better and better. You love MC romance, you need to add this to your TBR list. And on top of it, too.
Joker is dominant man. In and out of bed. He needs it. Thats what he is. But when it comes to Amy...Damn, the man can be so sweet. He loves her. Worships the ground she walks. Amy is one lucky old lady.
Amy deserves happines. Deserves a man like Joker. After what she been through...Though she don't think so, she is a survivor. Amy is strong. Shes afraid not to be what Joker needs because of her demons, but her love for Joker is much stronger. They meant for each other.
Other stuff going on, too. If you read the first book, you should remember Zeke. I can't make up my mind about him. Is he the foe? Or a secure acquaintance? He confuse me. And now he asked TSoW to do something for him. The brothers have made theirs opinion before they should about assignment. Though the target brought them a big surprise. You would think in the life they are living, they would know not to make assumptions. And the task smells like a trouble and romance for one brother of the club, just plain trouble for TSoW and not to mention kinda fishy from Zekes point. We will see how it goes.
Oh, and there is snippets of Steel and probably his soon to be old lady. They got me so curious.
Like always good job Jenika & Sam. Can't wait to read more of the TSoW wilde ride.
Oh yeah. me likey this series. Hope book 3 is soon. Ermm, carnt decide if I want Shakes or Steels book next. well as long as I eventually get both, I'm good. 4 hot mc stars from me xx
Awwwww 😍 😍 😍 Ok important info below. First - this is not a standalone book. Read in order because multiple character POVs and interactions.
Joker (VP of MC, sweet as f*ck) has been in love with his step-sister, Amy (abuse victim) since their parents married. Of course he never acted on it until they were of age and it was only a kiss. He ended up leaving to join the MC and it's been 5 years since then. In the last book you'll remember Zeke (crime lord) had given Joker the info and location on Amy's bio dad (who raped her as a child). Joker is able to eliminate that problem in a pretty gruesome way. Then he goes to claim his woman.
The love between Joker and Amy is so mofo precious!!! Their first time together makes you want to cry because it's so sweet and so f*cking HOT. He absolutely worships her. She is his entire world and he's more like a sappy lovesick fool than a hardened MC member. I was mad that he never gave her oral. I think he ripped her off in that area. 😛
There was no real drama in the book though. As far as the two of them go, he claims her and it's HEA. There is no jealousy, no OW/OM, no fighting or misunderstandings. It's just all love and rainbows for them.
There is interaction between Eloise & Steel and then the meeting of Shakes & Daniella (Zeke's daughter). Zeke is becoming a more confusing character. I'm not sure what to make of him.
I don't know, I'm just not feeling this series. I made the first book a comparison to Sam Crescent's previous MC books because they had many similarities and at the time I hadn't read any of Jenika Snow's books. Since then I've read a few of JS books and I have to compare this second book to her writing style and plot lines, in the sense that either nothing happens, extremely little happens and the main focus is the budding relationship between Joker and Amy. In essence the book was boring as hell. The most exciting thing was the interaction between Zeke and his daughter, Daniella and Shakes obvious desire for her. I was also looking forward to reading more on Steele and Eloise, their relationship looks like it's going to be interesting as well.
Don't get me wrong, I liked Amy. I felt for her and was glad that her father paid for hurting her, no child should have to grow up fearing the one person they are supposed to trust unconditionally, a parent. Her self hate and disgust was sad and she was lucky to have Joker there for her, but quite frankly I got tired of hearing them profess their love for one another on every other page...I get you're in love...move on. Obviously she wasn't that traumatized by that point because she had ZERO problems falling into bed with Joker, she did so happily and fearlessly...so there should have been more action going on but we get nothing.
I'm a huge SC fan, not so much of JS but she's growing on me, so I don't want to give up on this series but they need to amp up the action in the books that follow, the sex is great and all but pair that with some adrenaline inducing action and these books will be golden!
Let me start by saying I am a HUGE fan of both these ladies! Everything they write is pure gold! Now this book... It's nitty.... It's gritty... And it's full of passion! It touches on a very dark subject. Damaged, broken, dirty, they were the words she used to describe herself. ~~Amy Amy see's herself as broken, damaged goods. She has a love for Joker that's so strong she's willing to let him go because she doesn't believe she deserves him or that he would want a girl like her. She is sweet and resilient and so sad, you can't help but shed a tear or two for her.
Joker is the VP of Soldiers of Wrath, now we all know what that means, a dirty talking Alpha male! One of my favorite things about Joker is that there was no fighting his feelings for Amy. He loves her with everything he has and isn't afraid to show it! He makes no bones about being who he is and I think that's why Amy trusts him so much after the horrors of her life. “Because I want you, and I won’t leave you this time, Amy. I want you as my woman, and despite your fear, I know you want me just as badly.” ~~Joker The two of them together is just explosive! Joker was way sweeter then I ever anticipated he could be, and I loved every minute of it! There's a few suprises in store for you in this book. I'll say this.... It's not your typical MC romance.... There's a few things your gonna love! I loved seeing Demon and Deanna again, and cannot wait for Steele and Eloise's book!
I give this book 5 stars (Though I wish I could give it 10!) with a HIGH recommendation to read!! Reviewed by Krystal.
Smoke is literally rising off the pages of this book. I am a die hard Jenika Snow and Sam Crescent fan and this book lives up to both of their reputations. Sexy men, serious ass kicking, steamy love scenes, and women with backbones of steel.
When I first heard of this book and read the synopsis I knew it was going to be....
I was ecstatic when she consented to give me an ARC.
Joker...GOOD LORD I want some of him.
Their coming together was off the charts HOT.
If you're thinking this book is pure smut au contraire. There is some serious weight behind Amy and how she met Joker and how she is living her life now. Its refreshing, for lack of a better word, to read a book that has more meat to it than just the journey of the hero and heroine falling in love. In this book there's murder, rape, a MC club, love, family, etc. Its all there and I definitely recommend this book.
This was a good book and I am loving this series. Reese “Joker” Whitman would do anything to keep Amy Holland safe. Joker is Amy's older step brother although neither one of them have ever felt like that, he stayed away from her from her for 5 years because of a kiss that scared her. Amy is broken she was abused at the hands of her father and she has lived her life afraid of everything and everyone except Joker he always made her feel safe at 21 her mother dies and that just pushes all the past hurts and insecurities to the front when Joker comes home at the request of his father he knows it's time to deal with her father and claim his woman. I loved how Joker was patient with Amy. This was a really good book and a really good series the sex scenes were ok Joker didn't want to scare Amy although she knew he was a dominate he didn't tie her up. The book also briefly went into what will be happening in the next two books and I am really looking forward to reading more about the club member's. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. If you like reading about hot alpha bikers then I recommend that you read this series.
Love these two authors!!! Well written, entertaining, emotional and had my attention from the beginning. Time can heal, love can make you whole. At least that is the case for Joker and Amy. (Reese) Joker walked away giving Amy time to grow up and heal after rotten childhood events that leave her feeling unclean and damaged. Years later, Joker is a gritty, bossy, dirty talking bada** biker ready to claim his woman. With Amy, he is sweet and at times gentle, out to show her his love and determined to prove they belong together. Loved their characters, scorching passion and chemistry. Awesome read! Can't wait for more in this series!!!
I was not keen on the first book, Owned by the Bastard, but thought I would give this book a try as the authors other works all seemed to get great reviews but I think I'm just not feeling what all the others are. There is a LOT of sex in this book. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm all for some heat and passion in my books but the sex scenes overwhelm the tiny bit of plot. I love the MC genre but I think perhaps these authors are just not my style. Remember that this is just my opinion and there are loads of really glowing reviews for these guys.
This is the 2nd book in the Soldiers of Wrath MC series. This book is about Joker/Reese the Vice President of the Soldiers of Wrath MC. Joker has been in love with Amy for several years, ever since her Mom married his Dad. Amy had a rough start in life when she was a little girl her own Father who was supposed to love & take care of her instead raped her. Amy has not been able to trust or get close to a man since her Father betrayed her until she meets Joker. Joker wants nothing more than to claim Amy as his own but first he must kill her Father for what he did to her.
Hmmm......, where to start? At the start I suppose, it started off all guns blazing I thought, and the storyline was strong and compelling, and although I found this a fast paced read the story that had me gripped from page one, had kind of fizzled a bit. I loved Joker the hot, bad ass, I'm mean and moody unless I love you hero. I finished it and I'm looking forward to book 3!
Again, in this book, she sees him with another woman but that was before they were together and she was young. After they are together, it's just the two of them. There is violence here, and details LONG sex scenes. Just a heads up. It's a typical Sam book, you'll like it if you follow all the series.
Joker finally return to get the love of his life. Amy has been sexually abused by her father which leaves her broken. Can she become the woman she was meant to be with the help of the man she love?
This book was better than the first, sill the same old story of met day one, love day two, kill for them day three, marry them day four. But still I can see many ladies loving this read.
Sam Crescent and Jenika Snow collaborate well together. I like their books because I'm a fan of short, smutty, over-the-top insta love books that I can read quickly before I go to bed at night. In this story, the h is offered to The Soldiers of Wrath MC, by her father as payment for money he owed for drugs. The h's dad is THEE lowlife of all lowlife's. The only reason the h bothers with his drugged out butt is because she promised her dying mother that she would look after him. The h is a good girl, barely making enough money to survive. When the H (the president of the MC) sees the h, he's attracted to her but he has no idea what he should do with her now that she is the property of his club. He's use to having his pick of the club tramps to meet his needs and the h isn't that type of girl. She's not built for club life (or so he thinks). As the story progresses, the h gives the Prez a run for his money and he likes it! However, acquiring and keeping the h is more difficult than any member of the club realizes because her dad also offered her as payment to a big time player in the cities underworld.
I liked the storyline. I didn't like that it was only a novella and the story didn't get to really play out. It was rushed. I really hated the name Joker he should have stuck with Reese. The first book ( Owned by the Bastard) the club left out to help with Bruce what happened? It's like the Authors forgot this in this book. And WTH is wrong with Demon why hasn't he got his woman a house so she doesn't have to see the skanks all the time though as before that's one f'd up relationship think she has Stockholm syndrome. But I sure as heck would make him get me a place away from there and I sure hope Reese gets Amy a place. I want to see a full story, not novella's they are just for adding to a story not being the story. These stories are so promising but there is just too much going on in the story and not enough pages to keep it flowing. So much is left out and the fast forward button got stuck, so the story skips to much to make it a really good story. And I don't get it there is two authors working on these why the rush job?
