3 Alarm Lovin' Stars * * *

This has all the fixin' for a hot summer read. The surprise elements are actual real life issues both characters have to deal with day to day. Both hide their secrets causing them to think inwardly less of themselves. When both of them meet and finally connect on the level they should, they are the answers they both need and crave.

Each of these characters were admirable. I happened to understand both. He had a great sense of humor and kinda wore his heart on his sleeve. He was very willing to put himself out there for her. She was caught up in her own demons and by being with him... they were never very far away.

My only negative was her seeming not to listen or hear the circumstances of his unwanted situation with his PR issue. He made it very clear from the start he wasn't a player and it took quite awhile for her to see he was being truthful. When she actually did pay attention, things then began to fall into place.

This has all the hotness firefighters bring to mind... great alpha guys, wonderful builds and randy fun. A quick summer read with a dash of realism.

This book left me with such good feelings that as I write this review I'm smiling thinking about everything the author accomplished with this story. Hot Nights With The Fireman pairs a PR guru with a fireman who was caught in an uncompromising position (not of his own doing) and that alone made this book interesting, but then Ms. Silver made the heroine a fire survivor albeit a scarred one and gave us a hero with learning differences that he worries will prevent him from achieving his dream of serving on an lnternational SAR team. These two had many obstacles to overcome and this story could have been filled with angst and overly heavy but it wasn't; this was a well balanced romance with characters that felt real, an attraction that was undeniable and two people not afraid of hard work or making changes to find happiness both in their individual lives and together as a couple.

When a fire station's visit from some topless sorority girls goes viral on social media, Valerie Wainwright is sent in to clean up their image, educate them on new photo policies, and help them with some community events to help rebuild their image. Good at her job Valerie knows she can accomplish all of this easily even though the thought of walking into the firehouse makes her want to run screaming in the opposite direction she's a professional and she'll get through it somehow but what she doesn't expect is the absolute attraction she feels towards the "fallen" firefighter.

Jason Moore wants nothing more than to clean up his image and get the opportunity to apply for the SAR team so he is more than a willing participant in the county's image rehab program. He finds it hard to concentrate in the class because he is so drawn to Valerie but he knows he must concentrate in order to absorb everything she's saying. Getting her to meet with him outside of class proves to be more exciting than he ever expected when he realizes the attraction is mutual but he worries that he's not good enough for her when he discovers not only does she come from money but she is highly educated as well.

I loved that both of these characters had feelings of inadequacy towards the other yet they still couldn't help but pursue what they were both feeling. I admired Jason for coming clean with Valerie about his learning differences and asking her for help even though he was embarrassed by it. It takes a very strong man to admit his weaknesses to a woman he's interested in. I understood Valerie's hesitancy to share her scars and her fears with Jason given her history but it bothered me that after he bared his soul, she didn't reciprocate. I wasn't surprised when her fears got the best of her, but I was a little disappointed with her even though she did make up for it in a very big way. It was sweet the way these two really enjoyed each other's company and how they looked forward to spending time together even before they became intimate. Their connection was easy to feel and once they did give in to the attraction those scenes were amazingly hot and satisfying.

While both characters made some changes in their lives and did so because of the encouragement from the other, they didn't make them FOR the other person; they made them because it was right for them personally and that to me was very telling of the type of relationship these two had together. Two broken people who gave each other the strength they needed to face down their demons and learn to love themselves so they could love each other. Seriously friends, I have goose bumps thinking about all the great feelings this book evoked in me as a reader.

Hot Nights With The Fireman is a feel good story that was fresh, fun, flirty, absolutely sexy and an amazing start to what promises to be a fantastic new series.

The latest Washington scandal has nothing to do with what a senator is doing or rather who they're doing. No, the latest scandal out of Washington has to do with our everyday heroes, the local firefighters.

PR wiz, Valerie Wainwright has been working towards one goal, making full partner in her company. She's almost there. Only one thing stands in her way now, her own fear. Her newest client, the city of Washington, wants her to revamp the newly tarnished image of the firefighters. Make them less the scandalous party animals caught partying half naked with sorority girls on social media and more the wholesome, everyday heroes. She's got her reasons for not getting involved with a firefighter. Too bad all reason flies out the window every time firefighter Jason Moore smiles at her.

Jason is paying the price for something he didn't do. A classic case of wrong time, wrong place. With his half naked body plastered all over social media, compliments of a local sorority, he now has to deal with being in the spotlight in an altogether different reason than usual. Although not at fault for the incident, Jason's character and dedication to his job are now continuously in question. Not fair, but from an outsider's point of view, it's completely understandable. This is how scandals work. What I didn't get was why, even after his innocence is established, Valerie continued to hold the incident against him. She knew he was innocent and still threw it back in his face at every chance she got. This made her barely likable on my book.

Jason was never the ladies man we were supposed to believe him to be. He was actually quite sweet. When she is not on her moral high horse, Valerie was actually likable. Unfortunately those times were so infrequent that I found myself taking deep breaths so as not to scream at my ereader and look like a total nutcase to everyone around me. I did enjoy the romance between the characters even though I felt more often than not that Valerie did not deserve Jason. The story flow was great and smooth. I found Hot Nights With a Fireman to be a great summer read that I would definitely recommend.

I have to admit, I might have a little thing for firemen. I love the work they do, and I love how sexy they can be. And then, there are the hoses...

This book was full of firefighter glory. Valerie is a PR worker trying to make partner with her company, and that means working to fix the local fire station’s public image after some racy pictures were leaked. The sexy Jason seems to be the main culprit, but everyone in this book gets to learn that nothing is as it seems...

Valerie has scars, physical and psychological. The extent of these scars remains hidden through most of the book, so I was nervous about their reveal. So often it's not nearly bad enough to justify the drama. This was not the case here, and my heart broke for Valerie and all she had suffered.

Jason isn't the playboy he appears to be, and is just such an honestly good guy. He doesn't want to have a fling; he wants a full relationship and everything that goes with it. He doesn't make the usual annoying mistakes that normally push the girl away. Their problems are deeper, and for once, pretty much entirely on the heroine’s side. This was refreshing as you get to experience her growth as a character and watch as she learns from her mistakes and is forced to eat her pride.

The name suggests that there should be hot nights, with a fireman. In this, it did not disappoint. There were many steamy, sexy, and oh, so hot nights with this fireman. I only managed to spend one night with him, sadly, as this was a hard one to put down. ~ George, 4 stars

Thank you Lynne Silver! What a fun and refreshing read. This was my first venture into Silver’s writing and I’m happy to say that I really enjoyed this story. Once I started reading the first page I was instantly interested and cheering for PR Maven, Valerie Wainright and Mr. Hot Firefighter, Jason Moore. It seems to me that lately there are a lot of hero firefighters and I’m loving it!

Valerie’s firm is hired so that she can help clean up the image of the firehouse where Jason works. He, along with other firefighters, had inappropriate pictures posted on Facebook. To help clean up the firehouses reputation Valerie steps in. Valerie was a great heroine. She was very standoffish and made it clear that she was there to do a job and that she would be nothing but a complete professional. I thought Valerie was a strong, talented professional who was very afraid of getting hurt because of different things that happened in her past. When Valerie sees the inappropriate pictures of Jason she is instantly attracted to him. But she keeps herself in check and reminds herself she is there only as a PR personal. When Valerie meets Jason she realizes that she not only finds him to be very attractive but he is also a very sweet guy. Because of the pictures she saw of him she assumed he was a player but Jason is far from that.

Jason was really a great guy. He was at the wrong place, at the wrong time and now his whole career hangs in the balance. Not only does he have to help the firehouse clean up its image but he is ready to take the next step in his career and the odds were already stalked against him because of a big secret he carries. On top of that, he’s half naked image is posted all over social media. When Jason meets Valerie he respects the professional limits she sets but he still wants to be around her and the temptation might be too great for both of them.

Two things stopped this from a five star, for me. One, I thought that Silver made Jason seem immature at times in an effort to make him seem more down to earth. When he started to whine about his family and his parents, especially, it seemed to me like he was a young adult instead of a strong, professional firefighter. The last thing that bothered me was the last part of the book. Of course there has to be some drama but I would have liked for Valerie to have behaved a different way. But these are two small issues. Silver created two excellent heroes. I loved the friendship that they created and they have fantastic chemistry. I also loved that Valerie actually made more money than Jason, I’m so over the billionaires, I thought this was so refreshing. Also, I’m already hooked on the next storyline, “In Bed with the Bodyguard.” This is the next book in the series where Ariana, Valerie’s best friend and Lance Brown get their storyline. I really loved Ariana and can’t wait to see how she handles the tough FBI agent Lance.

The last thing Valerie expected when called in to help out the local firehouse with a PR nightmare was to fall for one of the firemen... mainly the fireman who started this whole mess!

Valerie is the straight laced, workaholic who hasn't dated in years. But when she gets called in to help a local firehouse with PR the last thing she expected was the fall for Jason Moore. The hot fireman who was caught nearly naked on FB with a group of Sorority Girls in a compromising photo. Something just isn't lining up though. Jason is nice and helpful and willing to help do whatever he can to help clear the fire department and his name. Jason tricks Valerie into a dinner to discuss the case and ask some questions but instead confesses he just wants to get to know Valerie a little more. He feels the connection between the two of them, but does she?

As their fling starts to turn into more, can Valerie get past her fears and her own past and allow Jason in or will he end up being like every other guy and won't be able to get past her secret and end up being the guy she thought he was to begin with.

The Pros:
1. Firemen
2. Ari - Val's best friend is funny as all get out.
3. Jason and Val have their moments of sweetness and the seem to work most of the time.

The Cons:
1. See #3 - most of the time. The ending was just a little off to me. I can't say too much without giving away major plot points but I felt like the went from hot to cold and back to hot too fast. It just seemed a little rushed.

Although I had some feelings of uncertainty with their actions in the relationship at times, the story was still a good read and I thoroughly enjoyed Jason and Val. If your looking for a quick, fun summer read... Hot Nights is the book for you.

Hot Nights with the Fireman is the first book in Lynn Silver’s Alpha Heroes Series. Judging by the cover, I didn’t expect it to have much depth. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s the story of PR Specialist Valerie Wainwright and firefighter Jason Moore. When she was a child, Valerie’s legs were badly burned in a fire where she also lost her mom. Now, Valerie is ashamed of her legs and has anxiety about all things related to fires, especially firefighters. Unfortunately for her, she is assigned the task of cleaning up the image of the firefighters at the local fire station because some of them were photographed half naked with some sorority girls. Of course, Valerie goes into this assignment with pre-conceived notions of the firefighters and soon finds out that she is way off base. Except for the fact that he is poster boy hot, Jason is nothing she expected to find in a firefighter. He’s nice, dedicated, and caring.

Valerie decides to allow herself to have a fling with Jason but he only agrees knowing that he can convince her that they can actually be a couple. The main conflict of the story has everything to do with Valerie’s self-image and how she struggles to deal with her appearance and the anxiety that she has held onto for twenty years. To Jason’s credit, he goes above and beyond to be a gentleman and opens up his heart to her. When they get between the sheets, Valerie realizes how much she has been missing over the last few years. Their lovemaking is scorching hot and they can’t get enough of each other. Outside of the bedroom, they find that they are also good for each other’s careers. All in all, they were made for each other even if one of them has a hard time admitting it.

After reading Hot Nights with the Fireman, I may have to consider the next book in the series.

ARC received from Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via Netgalley for an honest review.

OK, so I am a firefighter (volunteer) so I just love a good firefighter romance. The opportunity to read Hot Nights With The Fireman was a no brainer for me.

I did not feel that this was your average sexy fireman story. There was just that something "more" to it.

Valerie is a PR genious, and has a fear of fire - understandable when you get into the story.

Jason is the fireman caught up in an internet scandal - through no fault of his own.

When Valerie is sent to clean up the PR mess, there is an ember of interest, that spark of attraction. I love how Jason works at getting Valerie's attention, dragging out of her self-imposed "dry spell".

And when things ignite between them - man do things get hot hot hot!!! What this fireman can do with his hose (if you know what I mean!)

Ms Silver had my hooked right from the start. I fell in love with the characters (though at times I wanted to tell Valerie to pull her head out of her bum!) and adored the story. The writing and storyline flowed seamlessly, and I got carried away with it.

There are some fantastic secondary characters that I am hoping we get to learn more of (I know that there is one more book to come, but that won't be enough!)

This is the first Lynne Silver book that I have read, but it will definitely not be the last!

Oh, and I am off to ask my captain for a couple of the firemen like these!!

Lynne Silver is a new-to-me author. Hot Nights with the Fireman is the first in her Alpha Heroes series. It’s the heated love story of fire fighter Jason Moore and ambitious public relations expert Valerie Wainwright. It should have been a quick read at only 65K words, but I found myself stopping constantly because of technical errors.

Typically when reading an advanced reader copy, there is an expectation that the manuscript being reviewed is not yet polished for publication. Allowances are made for missing commas and the odd word that’s gone astray. Unfortunately, the ARC I pulled down from NetGalley, at the publisher’s request, read like an early draft, not a manuscript nearing public release. The text was repetitive, contained continuity errors, and too many of the author’s metaphors where off the mark for me. For example, in chapter six, Jason has been maneuvered into playing in a charity golf tournament. “He stood in front of her holding the large bag of clubs as if they weighed no more than a school backpack.” This was one of many metaphors that didn’t work for me. If you’ve been around school backpacks in the last decade, you’d know that thanks to school shootings, most schools don’t allow students to go to their locker during the school day; they have to carry all their textbooks around from class to class. They weigh a ton; so much in fact that a lot of parents have opted to buy their children book bags with wheels, like an airline pilot’s map case. What made this particular passage stand out so much for me, however, was that just a few pages later, Lance, the man Jason was golfing with, “…swung his club bag on to his back as if it weighed less than a school backpack.” Find a new metaphor.

In chapter eight during a charity car wash, “He pulled her in closer, and the thin cotton of her tank top soaked up the water from his body.” Later in the same afternoon when they have not left each other’s company, “His palms found her breasts over the silk of her dress…” Which is it? Tank top? Silk dress? These errors, and others like them, made it difficult for me to fully appreciate the story.

I did like Jason, and Valerie was tolerable, but the story relied too heavily on their sexual chemistry rather than character development to build intimacy. An intensity grew near the end that was very good, but the final ending cut off much too abruptly. Overall there was the beginnings of what had the potential to be a very good contemporary romance, but as declared in the title, Silver was intentionally pushing the sexual angle. It’s too bad for the characters and for this reader.

My Rating: D, Not A Big Fan

Valerie Wainwright works for one of the top PR firms in Washington D.C. and now she has been hired to fix the bad press of an internet video of a group of sorority girls that were taking a tour of the station and when one firefighter named Jason Moore came out of the shower with only a towel on the girls decided to do a girls gone wild video. Before they could usher the girls out of the station the video went crazy with downloads but as the story goes along Jason is not the bad guy. Valerie takes the job and one reason is Jason, she likes the video of him and when she meets in person for the first time she is more impressed plus he is sitting right in front. He is attracted to her as well but she is not going to do anything because of her job. Plus she has physical scares that make herself conscious. After her second meeting with the firefighters at the station she and Jason do a working dinner but she finds herself talking to him easily after getting back to his truck he ends up kissing her and she was not expecting to like it as much as she did. Not knowing how to respond they don’t talk for a few days until a school function he is doing. It is after this that she finds out that he has a form of dysgraphia and he always felt less than when he had to wright something or read out loud, mainly because of a teacher when he was younger. She helps him and as they start to spend more time together she still will not open up to him about her scares. When he gets hurt on the job she runs. Now her life is out of sorts because she quits her job also. She is trying to come up with a way to get him back but can’t think of anything. I won’t tell you the end but this is a good book with a lot of passion and both lead characters are overcoming fears and insecurities which they realize it is easier to face with someone than alone. A very good book. i got this book from net galley.

3.8 Stars but 4 on here

I was given this book for my honest review

“Um…” Well. This wasn’t good. Covering, he tried to avoid this moment by talking over her. “Right. You asked for coffee. Coffee and kisses. Always get those two confused.” It was suppose to be funny, but the lame joke fell flat, deflating the sensual tension and leaving behind only tightened strain.

Jason-hot firefighter

Valerie-pretty, smart PR lady

I really don’t know what to say about Jason and Valerie’s journey. In a way this book was hot but in another way ice felt like it was descending upon this couple. Though the heat was there the reservations with Valerie stood out way too much for me to wrap my head around this book. I am giving it the 4 star rating because I am rounding up on this. The funniness was there which helped, the “I can’t believe this” was always there but the helping and giving of hand was what stood out to me. The fact that Jason was labeled for doing something did not sit well with me. The proof wasn’t there or backed up. Mistakes happen and before the sides are drawn one always wins out and drastic measures have to be taken is what I got from the whole PR and Fireman.

To the author this book for me was not over the top great but it was good. It is a good summer time read for someone that enjoys the whole drama before you get to the hotness but also the hotness wasn’t as blazing as one would have hoped but all in all I liked the story. I wish you many great writings. Kudos

Happy Reading

I enjoyed this book most because there was no insta-love, instant attraction yes, but the love came slow and steady and because there was no overdone drama just for the sake of drama. Even the sex is very mild, but it's enough to tide over those who need it in a story. Expect pretty vanilla stuff, which only contributes to the story on Valerie being so insecure about herself.

Jason was just a sweet, everyday normal kind of guy. At times he was a bit too self-deprecating and it was a bit annoying but I imagine having to hide or, even worse, try to explain away a learning disability would make anyone a little insecure. I'm extremely happy that he wasn't magically cured of his learning disability after one night of tutoring from Valerie.

Valerie tended to get in my nerves because she was so afraid of sharing her past with Jason and using that fear to push him away. But I also know that this is the exact reason why this story is so believable. I love how she wasn't just understanding of Jason's disability, she tried to encourage him to seek out help for it.

They were perfect for each other because they were never judgemental of each other's flaws and somehow they both were the perfect missing puzzle piece to making each other whole.

If you love a slow-burning, sweet sexy romance then this is the book for you. It doesn't hurt that it's about a hot guy in uniform.

As an up and coming PR protégé, Valerie is used to putting out fires. This time she’s been charged with reforming the public opinion on the firefighters of D.C. after some pictures were released of scantily clad sorority girls in the firehouse. This should be an easy case to resolve to guarantee her the partnership at her firm.

Firefighter, Jason is at the center of the social media scandal. In reality, it’s more of a wrong place, wrong time type situation. In order to save his job and his dream of being a part of an international rescue team, he has to suffer through the image campaign. What he didn’t bargain for is falling for the sassy public relations person.

This story is well written with characters that have realistic qualities and appealing personalities. Jason is sweet, hardworking, everyday man. Valerie is feisty, intelligent, and has her own hidden pains. They make quite the complementary couple but there’s a lot of push and pull to their connection before a stable bond can be established. While I wouldn’t say that Hot Nights with the Fireman is scorching, I would contend it is a sweet, real-world romance and perfect for summer reading.

I was given a copy of the ebook in exchange for my honest opinion.

I loved this book. I love a book about a fireman. I am married to a volunteer fireman. Reading books on Firefighters is a favorite of my. So is SEALs!!

I love that first opinions are not always the case. Valerie thought of Jason as a playboy because of the reason she was in the department- Photos of him on the internet in a not so nice way. She did not want to be attracted to him, but she was. She was afraid of what he will think of her secret that she hides so well. I knew she was wrong about this. Jason is a fireman and he probably has seen worse.

If you are going to the beach, grab this book to read. When it gets too hot for you, you can run into the ocean to cool off!! I can not wait to read the other books in Lynne Silver's new series, Alpha Heroes!!

☆☆☆☆☆
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
Would I recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes!
Would I read more from this author? Yes!

Happy Reading!

Jason isn't modest at all, and he takes compliments really well:
She lowered the camera with a sigh. “Fine. You caught me. I was staring. You have a gorgeous body, you know.”
He pulled her in closer , and the thin cotton of her tank top soaked up the water from his body. “I’m glad you like it.”
Jason must get Valerie's panties wet because because he sure makes mine, “Jesus,” he muttered. “Look at you. It’s a good thing you got me off in the garage, or I’d be done already.” Jason knows all the right things to say, “you do whatever you want with them in public. If it makes you feel better to cover them, then fine. But around me, don’t bother. You’re as beautiful to me now as you’ve always been . Maybe more.” I liked this book, hell who wouldn't Jason is a sexy firefighter.

I liked this book because the plot was different then other firefighter books. The only thing that was the same was one was a burn victim but I tried not to let that bother me too much.

I loved how Valerie was in PR and was asked to help the fire department clean up their image that was a little tainted by Jason's picture of himself half naked on social media.

I enjoyed how Jason took to Valerie and worked slow on trying to win her over. Valerie was understanding and wanted the best for Jason and his career. They were both very strong characters but when they were together they were so in sync.

The authors voice was unique and the characters had me hooked!

Since this is the first book in the series I am excited to see what is to come for these fire fighters and how they will heat up the pages. I will be reading more of this series for sure!

Hot Nights with the Fireman was good book full of heat and sparks. The story is about, Valerie, a PR rep that is asked to help revamp the image of a local firehouse after a recent incident, and Jason, the hot fire fighter caught in the middle of the scandal. When they meet, there is instant attraction and despite Valerie's desires to keep things professional, things develop.

Both Valerie and Jason have dreams for their lives that are different than the lives they are currently living and are both hindered by circumstances out of their control. Though the story line is fairly predictable, the characters were amazing. The character dynamics were fun and you really felt their inner struggles.

Lynne Silver did a great job with this book and I would recommend if to anyone looking for an easy to read romance.

Rating: 3.5*

Cover: Yay

Trope: Fireman/PR Guru

Chemistry: Low Boil

Review: I liked the story but wasn't crazy about the writing.

Points for Valerie's background and her 'secret' which added depth to the story and also for creating fun secondary characters like Ariana and Lance (who will no doubt get their own book) but the plotline of Val doing PR work for the fire department kind of fizzled out after the first half of the book, which was a bit odd.

Love fireman stories, and this book did not disappoint me. Can opposites attract? Valerie PR guru, on the fast track. Has a new client, sexy fireman, Jason. Jason was caught in a comprising position and now needs to clean up his act. They are both hiding secrets, that make them think they are undesirable. Valerie has one rule, not to get involved with the clients, but will Jason change her mind.

This is fun, sexy beach read. By the end of the story you will be smiling for along time. Love how they both overcame their secrets. I highly recommend this book for a summer read. This is the first book that I read by Lynne Silver, and will not be my last.

Valerie´s latest job puts her right where her fears don´t want her, at the firestation among firefighters. A tragedy when she was five altered her life, and she´s still feeling the angst.
A PR disaster forces the DC Station to bring in a PR wizard, to better their appearance. What Jason never expected was the wizard to be a gorgeous lady ticking all his boxes. But she thinks he´s a player, could they make a go of it despite all?
Contemporary Romance, fire fighters and smutty fluff in a great combo.

Solid 4.5 Stars!

I really enjoyed this book. Lynne Silver has taken the typical Hot Fireman Romance to the next level.

I had no idea what to expect when I first started reading. I won my copy of Hot Nights with the Fireman from a giveaway, and this was my first time reading anything by Lynne Silver. I was pleasantly surprised from the get-go.

The relationship between Valerie and Jason develops in a very real way and the steaminess is off the charts. I'll definitely be checking out In Bed With the Bodyguard (Alpha Heroes #2) as soon as it releases.

I enjoyed this book. The sex was hot and the story was great. The differences between Jason and Valerie were great. For them to get there HEA they both had to get through their own shit. Can't waith for the next book in this series.
