A PhD in Physics, Yana spent years as a nano-researcher before diving into exploration of existential mysteries through fictional characters and magical worlds. Her debut series LUMINIFEROS unites contemporary fantasy and romance in a thrilling seven-part journey of self-discovery. She lives in the urban jungles of London but dreams of lush coniferous forests stretching beneath leaden clouds that almost constantly curtain the sky.
This Third Book was one of the hardest and most personal I’ve ever written.
The story grew out of a question that has followed me for a while: What happens when we cling to the things we believe will make us happy?
In The Vampire’s Bride, that question takes shape through longing, devotion, and the kind of attachment that can transform into something darker. You’ll meet a ruthless Vampire King, dive deeper into Lilly’s relationships with Will and Faolan, and walk beside her as her world shifts in ways she never expected – testing her feelings, her strength, and everything she thinks she wants.
But even though this book may challenge your heart more than the ones before it, it’s still filled with magic, lore, and that irresistible pull between desire and danger. There is passion here. (It wouldn’t be my story without it.) There is temptation. There is growth. And yes – there is wonder, whimsy, and that spark of light that Lilly brings even into the darkest shadows.
Luminiferos: The Vampire’s Bride asked me for brutal honesty, and I hope it rewards you with a story that stays with you long after the final page… and leaves you aching for Book Four ;-) Cue a small, pleased cackle from the author.
Thank you for continuing this journey with me. I can’t wait for you to step back into the world of Luminiferos!
Thank you to Yana Metro once again for the advanced copy of Luminiferos: The Vampire’s Bride! I have been here as an ARC reader since book 1, and this series keeps me in its chokehold to this day. I simply must address upfront though that there was not enough Hairito in this book!
I really enjoyed this one, it was very emotional for several reasons I won’t name to avoid spoilers, and I teared up so many times (ok I’ll say one: the Lutin 🥹). Though a lot happened in such a short time, the story was generally well paced so I wasn’t feeling bored at any point.
After book 2, I was left feeling uninspired by both love interests, yet somehow Will redeemed himself so much in the first half of this book that he stole my heart again. And though I admit Faolan is growing on me as a love interest, I still don’t feel the sparks between him and Lilly. I still really like Faolan though, especially because he helped Lilly grow even more into her powers in this book.
The addition of the new worlds and the vampires were interesting, so I’m excited to see if this vampiric alliance will hold after everything that just happened.
With how much stress each book puts me through, I don’t know how I will handle 4 more books until all of the emanations are found! You can really tell that Yana is putting her soul into these books.
Thank you thank you thank you so damn much to the amazing author for sharing an ARC of this book with me !!!!
“But the echo of our bond sings in my heart, just as the phantom touch of his thumb lingers on my mouth”
“You taught me power, Faolan. Not care” “They are more closely related than you realise”
“Reckless little human, you’ve never had a man, and you think you can handle a dragon?”
Love, lust, hope, duty, loss, helplessness, trust, grief. I don’t think I could put all those feelings into proper words, even if I tried. I couldn’t wait to get back into this world and I was definitely scared to know what destiny had in store for these characters … but I loved every second of it !!! It was more than what I was expecting. It was everything I wanted. But also all I dreaded. It was painful. It was frustrating. It was beautifully crafted and awfully devastating. I don’t think Lilly’s story will even get out of my heart. I don’t think I will ever be able to overcome the emotional turmoil her journey has been putting me through so far and still will in the future. I don’t think I will be able to forget Will or Faolan nor I think I will finally decide which of them I give my heart to. An even more complicated romance. An even more twisted and unbalanced plot. Basically everyone in this book was losing their mind over something. Me, myself included. And I cried … oh how I cried. For them, for me. For a destiny that will always keep them sacrificing themselves to save those they love !!! But I was there, every step of the way, unable to stop reading. Craving the next page. The next chapter. Saying that I am desperately waiting for book four would be the understatement of the century !!!
“Better to die fighting than to rot into something broken and enslaved”
“Maybe love isn’t a flame passed from one hand to another but a constellation of starà - bright points of old memories and new beginnings, each burning in its own place, together making a whole”
“But life doesn’t care. It burns you. And then it hands you beauty. It guys you. And then gives you wonder. You never know what you’re going to get. There’s no pattern. No justice. Just breath after breath after breath”
I’ve been on this journey with Yana Metro since book 1, reading the arcs she so kindly share, and each time I feel like my heart is breaking. Sometimes in a good way, sometimes not 🥹
“For those who feel deeply in all the ways life unfolds” - Dedication
It was so much fun being introduced to yet another magical race, vampires. The pacing of how all of these creatures are being introduced is perfect. Yana makes it easy to keep up with who’s who, who does what and who has what powers by discreetly inserting information her and there, but also having a through description in the front of the book. And what the shuck, the Lutins are CUTE, I love that we got a little description of them!!
I am in constant awe at how much I connect with her characters, you can truly tell she puts her full heart and soul into each book. There’s so much passion and love going around, it’s impossible not to get sucked in.
Understandably (and regretfully (for me)) we saw less of Will in book 3, and more of Faolan. When I tell you I stopped breathing at certain points, I am not joking. Will still has my heart, whatever is left of it! Even with his poor, distant, cursed heart ❤️🩹
“Will might not be in love with you, but he’d die a thousand times before letting anyone harm you.”
There was a bit more information in this book, compared to the other two, which at certain points made it a bit hard for my adhd brain to keep up. But it absolutely didn’t ruin anything for me, the main plot stands strong. I still hate Noxohit. I still love Will. And still think Faolan can go step on Lego 😌
Thank you so much for continuing having me on this journey with you Yana, I’m so excited for the rest of it, and hope you’ll continue to have me!!
“I’ll face it all the only way I know how. One step at a time. Just like always.”
You did it Yana, you converted me! Give me the Dragon, I love him.
My gods woman you had me hooked yet again, I was on the edge of my seat, screaming at Lilly and cheering her on almost equally. The struggles she went through; her panic attacks and mental health journey was so well written and resonated with me greatly.
Watching her relationship with Faolan grow and change was beautiful. I loved the back and forth and the adaptation to each other even when they were both pig-headed. It was like Will didn’t exist for me anymore and I felt terrible but then I realised, he was her first love. Faolan was to be her last and I firmly believe that.
My little angel Hairito continues to be my favourite character. She is the sweetest, funniest, cutest, little angel baby ever and must be protected at all costs. At. All. Costs. I mean it Yana…don’t you hurt a hair on that little one’s head or we will be in a fight 😅
What we learn about Noxohit and his power shocked me, but then it also made total sense when I thought about all of the other pieces of information we’ve gleaned over the years. I can’t wait to see what happens next, how Lils uses this to her advantage.
Overall; as with the first two books I absolutely adored Luminiferos the Vampires Bride and cannot express my gratitude to Yana for allowing me to ARC this series! I love the spirit world and I love your brain Yana!
Once again this author brings a creative and epic adventure. High stakes. High fantasy. It’s an enjoyable ride. My issue is how long and confusing this book became. There was soo much to take in and it may just be a me thing but I was taken out of it a bit. And if I remember correctly, the last book left a similar feel for me. That being said, I still can’t wait for the next book and to continue this unique and epic adventure and I appreciate getting to arc read this.
Soulmates torn apart by fate. An ice dragon mentor who may be more temptation than guide. And a vampire king who needs a bride.

📖 Brief Summary
The third installment of the Luminiferos saga raises the emotional stakes and plunges Lilly deeper into a world where love, destiny, and sacrifice collide.
Lilly and Will were meant to be eternal. Soulmates bound by fate. But when a devastating curse extinguishes the love in Will’s heart, everything shatters. Now distant and unreachable, he ascends to his role as High Guard while Lilly struggles to bury her heartbreak beneath duty.
As the last vandor, a soul-healer prophesied to save both the Human and Spirit Worlds from Noxohit’s “purification”, Lilly continues her perilous quest for Luminiferos. Her path leads her toward uneasy alliances with vampires, and into a terrifying prison realm ruled by a vampire king who demands a bride.
Meanwhile, her enigmatic mentor Faolan, an ancient ice dragon, remains both anchor and temptation as emotions she cannot afford to acknowledge begin to surface.
To save the world, Lilly may have to risk everything. Including her heart.
👤 Characters
🪷Lilly continues to grow into a powerful and compelling protagonist. In this installment she navigates intense emotional conflict while trying to reconcile the painful new dynamic with Will and her complicated feelings toward Faolan. Grief pushes her inward, and we begin to see her isolate herself and rely less on others. That isolation ultimately forces her to lean into her own power and begin becoming her own savior.
Her journey here is filled with love, loss, and impossible odds, but it also shows the early stages of her discovering who she truly is.
🐦⬛Will is heartbreaking in this book. Watching the curse sever the bond between him and Lilly adds a heavy emotional weight to every scene he appears in. The soulmate connection is still there in theory, but the absence of it in practice makes their interactions feel tragic and fragile.
🐉Faolan, the ancient ice dragon mentor, continues to be one of the most intriguing characters in the series. Powerful, distant, and quietly magnetic, he anchors Lilly at times while simultaneously creating tension she cannot allow herself to explore. In contrast to Will, he allows Lilly space to make her own decisions and empowers her rather than micromanaging her choices. His presence deepens the emotional conflict in a way that makes the love triangle far more developed than in previous books.
🩸The Vampire King, Mysterious, calculating, and deeply unsettling, he rules from a shadowed labyrinth of a castle within the prison-realm. His court feels dangerous and predatory, haunted and filled with viciousness. Lilly is challenged to face hard truths about herself in her search for Luminiferos.
🤕 Darius and Vesta, these beloved characters are sidelined in this installment but a necessary evil that drives Lilly’s personal growth.
⚔️ Plot & Pacing The plot leans heavily into emotional stakes and high-risk decisions. Lilly’s quest for Luminiferos pushes her into dangerous alliances and darker environments, including the terrifying vampire prison-realm.
The pacing balances introspection with rising danger, and the looming threat of Noxohit continues to build tension across the broader story arc.
🌍 World Building While this installment explores fewer new locations than earlier books, the world itself expands significantly through deeper lore and detail.
The series continues to shine in its world building. From political structures to supernatural creatures, everything feels thoughtfully constructed. The extensive reference material, including maps, charts, and what feels like an encyclopedia of lore, adds impressive depth and makes the world feel immersive and real.
And of course… dragons and vampires only make it better.
❤️ Romance The romance takes a more complex turn in this book.
The fated mates / soulmate bond between Lilly and Will forms the emotional core of the story, but the curse forces a painful separation that allows new dynamics to develop.
The love triangle becomes far more developed here, and for the first time we truly see Lilly struggling with conflicting emotions. The tension between loyalty, grief, and forbidden attraction adds a compelling layer to the romance.
🕯️ Mystery & Suspense The introduction of the vampire king and the prison-realm raises the stakes significantly. The mystery surrounding his motives and the true cost of becoming his bride creates a constant sense of danger.
And the vampires themselves are refreshingly terrifying. No glittering romance here. These are dark, predatory creatures. Well… maybe they glow a little, but it works.
✍️ Tone & Prose The tone is darker and more emotionally intense than previous installments. Themes of love, loss, insurmountable odds, and self-discovery run throughout the story as Lilly struggles to find her place in a destiny that keeps taking pieces of her heart.
The prose maintains the atmospheric style of the series while giving more space to character emotion and internal conflict.
💬 Quotes “But life doesn’t care. It burns you. And then it hands you beauty. It guts you. And then gives you wonder. You never know what you’re going to get. There’s no pattern. No justice. Just breath after breath after breath..”
🗣️Verdict Add this to your TBR immediately and buckle up for this rollercoaster! Brace yourself for a whirlwind of an ending for this book, and maybe have a tissue or two on standby.
This is a wonderful installment into the Luminiferos Saga, very excited to see where this journey for Lilly and her crew leads us next.
This book took me on an absolute rollercoaster of emotions. Tragic themes of love, loss, grief, and learning to find yourself in the darkness run through every part of the story. At times it is gut wrenching, but that emotional chaos feels intentional. This installment pushes Lilly into some of the hardest situations she has faced yet, and that suffering becomes the catalyst for her growth.
Sometimes the only way for a character to evolve is to break them a little first.
⸻
🪷 Lilly
Lilly spends much of this book trying to navigate a completely shattered reality. The soulmate bond that once grounded her has been ripped apart, and she is left trying to figure out who she is without it.
But girl… pick your head up. We do not beg at the feet of any man. 💔
Lilly makes several reckless and rushed decisions throughout the story that complicate her mission and often put her in even greater danger. Her desperation is understandable, but it also highlights how much she is still struggling to stand confidently in her own power.
One of the most significant obstacles she faces is the loss of her Vandor abilities and her connection to the Source as she grapples with her new vampiric nature. That internal conflict adds another layer to her journey. She is no longer just fighting external enemies. She is fighting the fear of what she might become.
At the same time, we start to see the early stages of real growth. Lilly begins isolating herself and slowly realizes that she cannot rely on others to save her. If she wants to survive what lies ahead, she has to become her own savior.
⸻
🐦⬛ Will
Will is one of the most frustrating and heartbreaking characters in this installment.
Yes, his love for Lilly is blocked by the curse. Yes, he has accepted his role as High Guard. But there are still moments where his true feelings slip through the cracks. Will seems unable to fully let her go, keeping her close enough that their connection still lingers while simultaneously pushing her away in the name of duty and control.
The protectiveness is still there.
And honestly… the jealousy too.
Will subtly probes Lilly about her feelings toward Faolan. At one point he asks directly whether she loves her dragon mentor and casually remarks that he would hate to have to kill him if Faolan ever broke her heart.
The tension between Will and Faolan is also becoming increasingly hostile. Will clearly believes that Faolan manipulated events during Lilly’s resurrection with the Cup of Life, essentially engineering the situation that forced Will to sacrifice his love for her. Whether that belief is justified or not, it fuels a deep resentment between them.
Or what about that moment in the nightclub with the daoshee was such a loud example. Wings out, intimidation mode fully activated. That was very clearly a “get your hands off my girl” display.
Mixed signals much?
No wonder Lilly is struggling emotionally. Will keeps pulling her close just enough to keep the connection alive, while simultaneously pushing her away because of duty and circumstance. He is reluctant to fully let her go, but unwilling to truly fight for her either.
And then there is the engagement to Freya. 💍🐺 That moment was brutal. He absolutely could have discussed that decision with Lilly instead of blindsiding her like that. It felt like another example of Will making choices for her rather than trusting her with the truth.
Self sacrifice is deeply embedded in his character archetype, but that final moment in the Vampire realm was still incredibly tragic.
⸻
🐉 Faolan
Faolan truly shines in this installment.
For the first time, we get to peel back layers of the icy dragon mentor and glimpse the real person beneath that frozen exterior. And let me just say… this man is yearning.
We start seeing flickers of genuine emotion, small cracks in the controlled persona he presents to the world. He clearly cares deeply for Lilly, but he is constantly fighting those feelings.
And he absolutely does not want to be a consolation prize.
One moment that stood out was the line:
“Who did that to you?” he growls, each word rolling through the balcony.
That scene hit hard, especially considering he had just tangled with another woman. And then letting Lilly see that moment through their bond? Diabolical.
Faolan’s protectiveness operates very differently from Will’s. Where Will often tries to control and micromanage Lilly out of fear for her safety, Faolan gives her freedom. He allows her to make her own decisions, even the dangerous ones, but stays close enough to step in when she needs help.
That contrast makes their dynamic incredibly compelling.
“Moments stitched calm into my chaos.”
Lines like that perfectly capture the quiet intensity between them.
And then we finally get confirmation that they are fated mates.
The tension between them shifts dramatically after that reveal. They both feel the pull, but neither of them is willing to fully surrender to it yet. Faolan is caught between his dragon nature and his divine path, trying desperately to maintain boundaries with Lilly.
Then we get this moment:
“My God, Faolan…” He hums. “I don’t mind you calling me that.”
I was absolutely screaming and kicking my feet. 👀😍
One of the most monumental moments in their dynamic comes when Noxohit presents Faolan with an impossible choice. He can either continue pursuing his divine purpose or save Lilly.
Without hesitation, Faolan chooses Lilly.
That decision is enormous. It speaks not only to the depth of their bond but to the kind of man Faolan truly is beneath his icy composure.
Despite his fierce protectiveness, Faolan never tries to control Lilly the way Will often does. Instead, he allows her the freedom to make her own decisions, even when those choices lead her into danger. He remains nearby, ready to step in if necessary, but he respects her autonomy in a way that feels deeply meaningful for her character growth.
⸻
🩸 The Vampire King
Rozengard is genuinely terrifying.
A monster in every sense of the word. The brutality of his court, the flesh shredding and bone breaking violence, and the oppressive atmosphere of his labyrinthine castle all make his realm feel like a nightmare.
But beyond the physical danger, he serves an important thematic role in the story.
Rozengard is essentially a warning of what happens when someone cannot let go of love lost. His obsession and cruelty demonstrate how destructive it can become when grief and attachment twist into something monstrous.
In that sense, he becomes a dark mirror for Lilly. A reminder of what she could become if she allows her own loss to consume her completely.
⸻
🧿Noxohit
Noxohit remains the looming darkness behind the entire series, but this installment delivers an important turning point in the fight against him.
For the first time, Lilly manages to locate his astral presence.
After so much despair, loss, and uncertainty, this discovery reignites a fragile sense of hope. The enemy who once felt distant and untouchable suddenly becomes something that can be tracked and potentially confronted.
In a story filled with grief and emotional devastation, this moment acts as a spark of renewed determination for Lilly and her allies. It reminds both the characters and the readers that even in their darkest circumstances, the fight against Noxohit is not hopeless.
_____
📖That Ending
And now we need to talk about the ending in the Border Realm.
Because WHAT was that.
That twist came out of nowhere and instantly raised the stakes for everything that comes next. The entire scene reads like a classic deal with the devil, and it is impossible not to wonder what the long term consequences will be.
Personally, I think Lilly made the right choice.
But it is absolutely going to come back to haunt her.
Bringing Khāmulus, the war god and master strategist, into the equation could be the key to defeating Noxohit. Strategically, it makes sense.
But the real question is the cost.
Is Lilly risking unleashing something just as dark and monstrous into the world?
That decision alone has me counting the days until book four.
Every once in awhile, a story comes along that just captures your heart. You are so invested you forget about life, and are just wondering what the next part of life (the story) has to offer.
Yana Metro, writes that. This is the third book in a series and so far the whole series are 6****** we are looking at a world you enter that grips you from begining to end. Every single book is devastatingly beautiful.
Yana Metro has done it again with The Vampire’s Bride, taking her characters – and readers – on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
Given the amount of time between the second book in the Luminiferos series and this, the third, my expectations were high. I’m happy to report that Yana Metro met and exceeded them.
With each new book in the series, Yana seems to ratchet up the stakes – and the emotional turmoil.
No one is more affected by this than Lilly. After Will’s love for her was erased at the end of the last book, she at first copes by throwing herself into her mission to find the next emanation of Luminiferos, and then into new alliances with vampires. The species has traditionally been ostracised, but Lilly sees elements of herself in them. As ever, her kindness leads her to help them – and that leads to a fundamental change in herself.
The consequences of this reverberate throughout the book – and I love how this further added to Lilly’s understanding of her own character and her relationships with Will and Faolan. I’d say she goes through more physical and mental pain here than she did in The Darkness Within (and that’s saying something!). Her trauma breaks her down, but also remoulds her. She doesn’t simply become a stronger person, but gains awareness of how much her emotions have been leading her, and how all the different facets of herself – even those she’s previously seen as flaws – are part of her, for better or worse. As she says herself, “They shaped me, but I don’t need them.”
While the last book saw us introduced to Faolan Frost, this one further expands his role, and his connection to Lilly. He’s still as beguiling as ever, with “beauty so exact it’s almost cruel”, but in this book we learn a lot more about what exactly is behind his infuriatingly detached nature, and why Lilly was the only one able to break through his emotional walls.
Now, before we continue on I want to make something very clear. I adore William C.J. Raven. Lilly’s relationship with him is beautiful and heart-breaking. I still believe they should be endgame.
However…
The Vampire’s Bride marks the first time I’ve ever genuinely questioned my allegiance to Team Will.
Here’s the thing, though: with how much I’ve gone on about how Will is the only guy I see Lilly with, you’d think that Faolan would’ve wrestled away my allegiance with some big, grand gesture. Not so.
When he comes to Lilly during the book’s late second act, he finds her a shell of her former self, traumatised by what she’s been put through at the hands of the titular vampire and his ensnaring court. He doesn’t try to fix what she’s feeling, but gently helps her to come to terms with it. “Faolan might not know how to name love,” Lilly asserts. “But he’s expressed it, again and again.”
Everything in this book has matured. At one point a key character tells Lilly that “sometimes accepting what we can’t change is the only path,” and we see her apply this to her relationships with both Will and Faolan, realising that neither is her defining feature. And then there’s what the narrative reveals about the true nature of Noxohit – making him an even more nuanced villain.
Yana Metro’s world and characters continue to evolve. Even at book 3, it’s still something you want to fall into – I feel like a broken record saying this, but I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
Goodreads only allows up to 5 stars, which in my opinion is not enough stars for this book. This is definitely a 5⭐️ and then some!
I was given the opportunity to be an ARC reader for the 3rd book in Luminiferos. I am extremely grateful and honoured to have been given this opportunity. It’s been an amazing experience reading this book. I have been on so many emotional rollercoasters that I can’t keep up, I have laughed, cried, gasped, swore, been in absolute shock and cycled around to the beginning once again.
One thing I will say, do not try to guess what will happen, save yourself from that, because every single time I guessed at what would happen next, I was so far from the mark it was unreal. Yana is an amazing author who leads you down a path to then divert it, spin you round and have you questioning your ability of working things out.
The characters are so well written that you actually find yourself going on the journey with them. Favendei is described in such minute detail that you actually forget it’s not real, you’re there, in Favendei, living, breathing it. Every tree, every flower, the night sky with the stars so bright, it’s all in front of you just within reach. The balls, the meetings. You are part of it, you’re not just reading about it.
There is Magick woven into every single page. I truly believe that Yana is going to be the next big author, people will discuss her books like they do other Romantasy authors, and I genuinely can’t wait for that to happen for her. Because someone who is as talented as she is deserves it happening.
I am not into spoilers, so you’ll not find any in my review. But I will say this: if you haven’t read any of these books, please do. They have everything you could possibly want from a Romantasy book,
But! You will need to decide if you are Team Raven 🐦⬛ or Team Dragon 🐉 I was firmly most definitely Team Raven, until I wasn’t! I am now absolutely Team Dragon. Although I will always be Team Harito, she’s an absolute legend is that little one. Ifykyk. She’s just the most wonderful character ever in a book. She’s sassy, sarcastic, loyal, funny, sweet, adorable and needs protecting at all costs.
Enjoy reading the third installment of this series, but please be prepared to have your heart ripped out, stomped on and then rinse and repeat, it really is the book that keeps on giving and the last few chapters will really get you.
I’ve loved this series from the moment I picked up the first book, and this installment reminded me exactly why.
It’s been a while since I last visited this world, but as soon as I began reading, everything came rushing back. I was immediately pulled in again. The Vampire’s Bride continues Lily’s journey as she searches for the remaining Luminiferos emanations in order to defeat Noxohit.
While this series has always carried emotional depth, this book takes it even further. By this point, Lily has lost everything that once mattered to her, and her grief pushes her into isolation. Her pain feels raw and real, adding a heavier emotional weight to the story.
As she searches for the third emanation, Lily is faced with a powerful and difficult question: what do you desire most? It’s not as simple as it sounds, and her struggle to answer it sends her on a deeply personal journey of self-discovery. She’s forced to confront not only who she is now, but who she has been—recognizing that even the versions of herself she resents played a vital role in shaping her present.
For me, this story is ultimately about letting go. Letting go of the past, of the people and things we cling to out of comfort or familiarity. It’s about accepting past versions of ourselves—not with shame, but with understanding—because they are the reason we’ve grown into who we are today.
One quote that truly resonated with me was:
“My path to it led through a realm where I lost everything. But that was the point. I had to lose it all to find myself, to understand that only in true inner freedom can I love without trapping and give without taking. When my choices are no longer driven by fear of loss or hunger for gain, only then am I truly free.”
That moment of clarity—when Lily realizes she’s been fighting against herself—marks a turning point. From there, she’s finally able to move forward with purpose.
The world-building expands beautifully in this installment, and the character growth is especially compelling. Lily’s relationships with Will and Faolan are strained and tested, forcing her to confront difficult truths and make even harder decisions about her future.
This story is beautifully crafted, filled with magic, love, and emotional depth. Watching Lily’s growth over the course of just three books has been incredible, and I’m so deeply invested in her journey.
I absolutely adore this series and cannot wait to see what happens next.
👻 book 3/? ongoing fantasy series 🍑 open door spice 👻 single POV 🍑 love triangle 👻 quest for magical object 🍑 animal companion 👻 magical beings including vampires and dragons 🍑 unrequited love
Firstly a huge thank you to the author for this eARC!
~𝗠𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀~ After being emotionally wrecked by book 2, I had to mentally prepare myself for this one and I'm so glad I did because what the heck 😭
I will caveat this review with the fact that I read book 2 about 18 months ago but, despite the time away from this world, I found myself sliding back into this world with ease.
This book really does put you through all the emotions and again thats one thing I love about the author. You truly do not know what to expect, other than if you're feeling one thing one moment, chances are you're going to feel something at the other end of the spectrum soon 😆
I love FMC Lilly so much even if she did continue to make dumb decisions 😆 MMC Will... sigh, he will always be my man. Given how book 2 ended with his love for Lilly removed, I think the author did so well to really hone in on that unrequited love between them.
My hope for these two was endless. I ate up every scene with them, just for any sign that Will still remembered his love for Lilly 😭
I do feel like the plot of this book was a lil all over the place, and despite being a plot loving gal, I found myself more interested in the relationship between Will, Lilly and Faolan.
I also feel like this book suffered from middle of the series syndrome by being a bit of a filler but that being said, I love the world and characters so much that I found myself not really minding!
𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹, I love this series so much and reading book 3 was such a dream. I've missed this world and loved being able to return. Whilst its not my favourite in the series so far, it's given me that obsession again. So now its time to wait for book 4!
Wow… where do I even begin? Because Luminiferos isn’t just a story!! it’s an experience!! The world-building is breathtaking, it’s vivid, immersive, and so intricately layered. Every page feels alive with magic, mystery, and that constant pull between light and darkness.
What I love most is how deep this story goes. Nothing feels surface-level. It’s not just about saving a world it’s about identity, purpose, and the battles we fight within ourselves.
And book 3… omg. Everything intensifies, the stakes, the emotions, the urgency. You can feel the imbalance, the tension, the sense that everything is on the edge of collapse.
Lily’s journey is one of the most powerful parts. Her search for the third emanation isn’t just physical, it’s deeply internal. The trials she faces within her own mind are raw, emotional, and beautifully written.
And then the relationships…
Because my heart is genuinely torn.
Lily and Will? That connection hurts. It’s deep, intense, and full of aching, almost unbearable yearning. It feels fated but fragile, and you feel every ounce of it. I root for them so hard!
But Faolan… I did not expect to love him the way I do. He’s strong, layered, and grounding in a completely different way, and it makes everything even more complex because you care about him just as much.
And that’s what makes this story so incredible, you don’t just read it, you feel it. The yearning, the conflict, the emotional weight of every choice… it all runs so deep.
This series has easily become one of my top fantasy reads of all time. Magical, emotional, layered… and completely unforgettable.
If you love, Deep, layered fantasy worlds, Light vs dark themes, Emotional character journeys, Intense yearning & complex relationships and Unique magical beings
Thank you Yana Metro for the eARC of The Vampire's Bride let me start by saying my review is my unbiased opinion and I absolutely love this series.
After reading book 1 and 2 last year I've been waiting with anticipation for The Vampire's Bride to drop, I couldn't wait to get back into this world..it's created with such lavish descriptions that create vivid imagery which makes you feel like you're within the story whilst reading. After the ending of the second book I was on the edge and needed answers. Well I got my answers and more with this novel. It is filled with everything, I went from one emotion to the next as I read. I thought I was getting one thing and it turned out to be different... I don't think I've gone from happy to sad so quickly in my life 😂 I loved the progression of this novel, it went in a direction I wasn't expecting and the way everything played out had me gripped. I love Yana's writing style, not only does she tell she shows too, it feels like an experience whilst we read. She creates characters that we truly care for and the villains are created with different shades to them, are they villains or just misguided within their experiences. I love Lilly, I love how she's grown throughout the books and Hairito - always love that little character. I love all the characters in this series, even the new characters are created so well and slot into the storyline so well, they all give so much to the plotline. I have so much I want to say but I fear spoilers will spill out. One thing I will say is After that ending I need book 4!!
Wow - what an addition to this series... i was warned that this instalment would rip my heart out of my chest and stamp it into the ground but i did not listen! This was one of the most intense emotional rollercoasters i have been on this year and i felt absorbed by the book.
The character's development is so well thought out that it progresses the story as well as keeping us in suspense with how their story is going to end. The love triangle was heartbreaking and frustrating and i was eating up every word. Will's scene hurt because of the severed bond that he cant seem to 100% get over, Faolin's scenes hurt because he allows Lilly to explore herself and that is what i want for her but i miss Will! Its a nightmare maze and i keep running into a dead end with no answer!
The world has been expanded with the addition of the vampires. I love the world that this author is building and how she gives us just enough information to get by but then continuously peeling back layer by layer to add to the atmosphere.
I really enjoyed this book - the only reason i gave it a 4 stars (i would do 4.5 if possible!) is because i would like the triangle to be closing and there being more of a forward movement in that - but that is my personal preference and it's still a 4.5 and a fantastic book in my opinion.
Having already read the first two books in this series, I went into this one already deeply invested in Lilly and her journey and this book definitely put my heart through it.
This installment felt like a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. Lilly is carrying so much weight as the last vandor while trying to navigate heartbreak, duty, and the growing darkness threatening both worlds. Some moments genuinely pulled at my heartstrings, and watching her continue to fight through it all made me love her character even more.
One of the things I enjoy most about this series is the shifting dynamics between the characters. At one point I was fully Team Faolan, but after this book I found myself unexpectedly leaning more toward Team Will, which honestly surprised me.
The world keeps expanding in really interesting ways with the vampires, the darker realms, and the dangerous choices Lilly has to make moving forward. And I’m still really hoping we get more of Hairito in the next installments.
Overall, I’m still very invested in this saga and excited to see where Lilly’s story goes next.
Luminiferos: The Vampire’s Bride feels like the point where Yana Metro’s series steps fully into its darker, more emotionally devastating power. As the third instalment in a saga built around romance, self-discovery, and two worlds on the brink, this book pushes Lilly Will and Faolan into even harsher tests, with curses, violence, grief, and desire all tightening around them until the story takes on a more dangerous, urgent edge.
What makes it stand out is the intensity of feeling: this is not simply a fantasy romance, but a story that leans hard into longing, heartbreak, and the cost of love when the world itself is unstable. This installment is not short of expanding world-building, maturing characters, and strong emotional payoff, which gives the novel the sense of a series deepening rather than merely continuing. The writing pulls you in, blends fantasy, romance, and a reflective, philosophical streak. Lush enough for romantasy readers, but emotionally raw enough to leave a bruise. Perfect for readers who like portal fantasy with high emotional stakes, rich supernatural atmosphere, and a romance that is clearly willing to hurt before it heals. Can't wait for book number 4.
Fresh off the heels of finding the second emanation, Lilly finds herself at a crossroads of sorts.
The constant question of “what do you desire most?” rules this one. And it poses the thought of when you take away everything that has lead you to exactly where are now - what do you need?
Through trials, tribulations, love, loss, manipulation, and a WILD adventure - Lilly faces her toughest trial yet. Noxohit is strengthening, Faolan and Will are at odds, and the entire Guardian council has her marked.
The entire time I was waiting for her to JUST ADMIT WHO SHE WANTS….and she does, but not before she nearly loses her life ….again (it’s a reoccurring theme lol).
I want to thank Yana for pouring her heart and soul into this one. I know you were worried about keeping us waiting with the edits and tweaks, but I can ABSOLUTELY say that this one was well worth the wait. I can’t wait to read what you write next and also what comes of my precious Faolan 😌
As always first and foremost, thank you to Yana Metro and her team for allowing to be on the arc team for the second time! It is never a dull moment getting the opportunity to read your work. To say I was addicted and obsessed with the story is an understatement. From the moment I dropped back into this world it is where I always wanted to be. I thought about these characters all the time, I woke up knowing I dreamt about these characters. It is such an amazing continuation from book 2, and without spoiling it has so much more happening! The engagement between the characters grows immensely. You should expect to be on the edge of your seat, at times feeling like your heart is in a vice grip. Always wondering what now? where do we go from here? How will she make it? who will make it? we definitely get more people added to the found family aspect and I absolutely loved that. I could keep going, but I don’t want to spoil 10 out of 10 would recommend reading this book let alone the entire series up to this point.
I have been in love with this series since I discovered book 1 and to be given the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this highly anticipated 3rd instalment was immensly exciting! I have to say when going off the bio I wasn’t convinced things were going to pan out very well for Lily and Will and I will die on this hill that I am team Will! This installment had me run through just about every emotion more than once and a book that can do that to me deserves more than 5 stars. There are some stunningly beautiful scenes written that created such inense and vivid images in my mind I felt like I was there! Without giving any spoilers as such one of my favourite parts was Will the piano the song and then the lutin! 😍 I knew he wasn’t as cold hearted as he was making out. I honestly cannot think of a reason why you shouldn’t read it! Will be continuing to recommend to all my romantasy girls! Thankyou Yana for such a wonderful read and for the opportunity to ARC read for you! Cannot wait for book 4! 😝😝
Every time, every dang time Yana sinks her claws into me so deep I can never stop thinking about the books. This one had me even more obsessed with Faolan like I would let him do whatever to me and saying thank you. Each book we see more and more of Lilly's evolution to her true self. She bends and bends and bends but like the trees of the forest, she does NOT break.
I thought I knew pain in book two but Yana said HAHA just wait and twisted the dagger even further in my heart. I am not sure I will ever emotional recover. Never the less, I forgive her (slightly 😂😉) I am also very intrigued to see how this dynamic between Lilly and Faolan will progress.
This book really was a rollercoaster but it was one I did not want to get off of. Full of heartbreaking moments, alll the tension and absolutely stunning writing. This is a hauntingly beautiful masterpiece of a series that you DO NOT wanna miss.
I received an ARC and this review is my own opinion.
WHAT IN THE CRAP WAS THAT?! This book had me all in my feels at times and I ate all of this up in record time.
Lilly and Will's love transcends lifetimes, but the curse that caused his love to be lost broke Lilly to the soul level. We watched her break over and over because of her love for Will, but ultimately, begin the journey of finding her clarity and herself by letting him go. I am glad that she finally understood obsession over love and was able to see the bigger picture of what needed to happen.
I am still Team Faolan, but the lessons he gives Lilly, especially in regards to her clarity shows that he is still the Master with her being the student. I loved that she finally came to terms with her feelings for him, even if they truly couldn't be together because of the paths they're on.
🖤If you haven't read the Luminiferos series yet, you're missing out on the most beautiful and heartfelt fantasy series out there.🖤
🖤I've been enamoured by Yana's writing since I received a copy of her first book last year. The world building, the sentiment and the self-discovery just spoke to my soul. Since then, the series has been getting bigger and better, while sticking to its heart and has quickly become my favourite series.🖤
🖤Each book has greeted me back into the world like an old friend, reminding me of what's important in life. Book 3 went above and beyond, guiding me through emotions and altering my brain chemistry. It had me crying, laughing, jaw to the floor, and hand to my heart. I was still team Will at the end of book 2 but I'm afraid to say some of those scenes switched me to Team Faolan without my consent. I'm sorry Hairito, my gargoyle friend. 🖤
🖤Thank you Yana for allowing me an early glimpse into your world.🖤
Thank you so much Yana Metro for the allowing me the pleasure of reading an arc copy of your book.
I wish I had reread the first two books before I started this arc but I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless.
The characters are like old friends now and I returned to their world with ease. I love how Yana describes all the locations in the book and how intricately and beautifully they are all tied into nature.
In book 2 I firmly became team Faolan, by halfway through The Vampire’s Bride I was massively conflicted!
I don’t want to spoil anything but the way Will and Lilly’s relationship plays out after the ending of the second book is different and very clever.
I love how Lilly’s relationships with both MC’s evolved and developed in this installment.
Yana’s mind is truly amazing the magical systems and elements in this series are vast, layered and brilliantly complex.
The ending was great, no massive cliff - thankfully as don’t enjoy the stress of them but it’s definitely left in a way that has me contemplating what will happen next. I eagerly await the fourth book in the series.
Love this series this latest book had me wrung out by the end. Couldn't stop reading. I love Lilly's resilience she is strong and yes she makes mistakes but for the right reasons and through compassion she really cares about those around her. Hairito, Faolan and all the other characters are beautifully written and it feels as if you are in the book with them. I like the way the author leaves the possibility that a character might return even when they seem lost. I love Lilly's link with Hairito wouldn't it be great to have a Hairito in your life. This is a really wonderful series can't wait for the next book. If you haven't found this series yet give it a try you won't be disappointed.
I swear this is like a running joke now. I'm guessing Lilly won't have a man until the last book. This is terrible. And now there might be a new character that vies for her affection (maybe...still too soon to tell) too. Why can't she get her some before something new tears her and her man apart AGAIN? I'm still team all the peens but we'll see what happens. Part of this story gave me The Labyrinth vibes though the guy in this castle is such a twisted soul now. Not sure how Lilly is supposed to keep going after her heart keeps getting such hard hits, but I'm hooked. Also not sure how the stakes keep getting higher and there's still more story to read. Can't wait for the next one!
If you liked the first two books, you are probably going to love this one. It was so good. Emotionally devastating in it's ability to render my heart. I cried multiple times! Lilly, Will, and Faolan are top tier characters and I feel like I'm never going to get my happy ending. Ugh! 😭 This book made me feel so many emotions. I was laughing and then crying, on the edge of my seat and tossed down like yesterday's trash. Can't catch a break with this one. I need the next books fast but I didn't think that's going to happen. 😭 I'm wallowing, let me wallow.
I always worry when revisiting a series in case I don’t remember what has happened / if I’m lost and it doesn’t hit the same way. But everything is explained as part of the story without feeling like you’re being taken out of what is happening in the story now. This is the best of the series yet. Somehow three books in and I’m still caught off guard with how this story is progressing. At risk of spoilers I’ll stop now. But I cannot believe what I’ve read 🤣 Absolutely loved it, and cannot wait for the next!
This book was everything I wanted it to be and yet the storylines snuck up on me!
The characters development is sublime. I had to remind myself numerous times how young Lilly is and still remained in awe of her resilience and ability to adapt.
Will and Faolan... well. I love them both. I went in team Faolan but Will... well, you'll have to read it.
The ending sets us up for the next installment but spares us a soul crushing cliffhanger. Hallelujah haha
Thank you Yana for trusting me with your third book baby 🖤
Oh my gosh. STOP. This book is SO GOOD! I literally could not put it down. I was trying to read in 1-2 minute increments when I could, good. I’m so sad we have to wait for the next one, but good things come to those who wait. So here we are. Book three has been action packed, suspenseful and heartbreaking but in some of the best ways imaginable. Thank you Yana for this! Honestly, it was a book I didn’t even know my soul needed to read. If I seem like I’m rambling, I am… because the ending. I can’t stop thinking about it. 😅
