A reasonable book which does what it sets out to do. That is, Patterson shows how he uses photographs for composing and painting in watercolour. He focuses very much on landscape ...though there are animals and marine settings as well. I'm not sure that I really learned a lot from it other than one doesn't have to stick to the exact photograph. In fact, you probably will need to crop and alter perspective and even add elements.
I would probably have kept this book but my storage space is now getting limited so off it goes to Lifeline charity booksales. Three stars from me.
