This took me some time to get into, and I admit, I was a bit confused on what was happening numerous times. I was also surprised by how slow-burn it was, but at some point, the action picked up and it became truly addictive. Looking forward to reading more from this universe, if other books were to come.

I wasn't sure I’d enjoy it, but I was pleasantly surprised—it's a wonderful book! Despite the author not being of Eastern descent, I could still sense the atmosphere and the warmth she poured into this story. The plot is very original and captivating. Furthermore, I adored her writing style, which felt somewhat poetic and philosophical. I'm looking forward to reading more of her work!

this really feels like it was written with ai.
almost every other sentence has a comparison…and after a while they just become repetitive instead of making the writing better. A lot of them don’t really make sense
too many unnecessary descriptions
the writing also uses a lot of filler words and phrases that ai tends to overuse…so it doesn’t feel very natural
maybe I’m mistaken, but that was honestly the impression I got while reading

Review of advance copy
I read this on Wattpad and it truly blew me away. Such an original story, with a dark, haunting edge to it. I miss the characters so much already, especially little Shui. If this ever gets a screen adaptation, I’ll watch it THE SECOND it drops!
