“There’s been a shooting during a prisoner transport. Five officers down. I repeat, five officers down.”
After a horrific case upended her life, FBI agent Sarah Cross is sent to Silver Hill. A picturesque, tight-knit town nestled in the Tennessee foothills. Now a thousand miles away from her old city life in Boston. Sarah finds herself at an odd crossroads, haunted by guilt.
When a bloody massacre takes place during a prisoner transport. Sarah is personally tasked with investigating the crime. The case quickly takes a shocking turn after an anonymous tip arrives. Photographic evidence that implicates Silver Hill’s Sheriff. All suspicion immediately falls upon her friend, TK.
Unconvinced by the evidence, Sarah dives deep into the case. While all her colleagues are certain that TK is the culprit. Sarah is determined to look beyond the mounting evidence against him. With ruthless fugitives from the deadly transport still on the loose. And TK sitting in prison awaiting trial. The case draws nationwide attention and demands for swift justice.
From steel traps to close encounters with wild bears. As the hunt intensifies, a hidden note containing a cryptic message is found. A message that could blow the whole case apart.
Several lives lie in ruins as the investigation hurtles toward a high-stakes climax.
Family ties, buried secrets, and mass murder. The wilderness has a way of bringing out the beast in people.
A great read. The characters by now feel like people I would like to know. All of A.J's characters have depth and individuality but T.J. and Sarah are very vivid. I am not a fan of cliff hangers so I hope the wait for the next Sarah Cross is a short one.
The characters in this series have got such interesting personalities and back stories! Yes please! Keep this series moving forward. Sad to see one of the main characters die, but guess that just makes it more realistic. Hope TK's brother can show up in more of these books. Happy to see there might be a bit of magic possible for Sarah and TK. That would be nice. Keep up the great work please!
This series just keeps getting better and better! FBI Agent Sarah Cross has to investigate her partner, Sheriff TK Kessel, after an anonymous tip reveals a photograph of TK holding four men - including a DEA agent - at gunpoint before the four are found dead. As the clues pile up, so do the questions. And at this point, who can she trust? This one was incredible!
Wow! What a wild takedown! I knew Sarah would pull through for TK! I still have questions-what happened to Prince? And tell me more about James! Can’t wait for the next one!
This series just keeps getting better. This, the fourth book, is full of action and intrigue. There's a conspiracy to unravel and a gun battle to win. But, of course, in true AJ Rivers form, it also ends with a major cliffhanger.
What an ending. This episode, this journey with Special Agent Sarah Cross was frightening, exciting and full of intrigue! Can’t wait to see where A.J. Rivers takes Agent Cross next!
Loved! From start to finish this book was constant action and suspense. The entire book flowed so well page by page and the ending didn't feel rushed. Sarah and TK are a close second next to Emma and the gang.
More missed hours of sleep because I couldn't put it down. This series always leaving you wanting to know what happens and where the characters go next. Looking forward to the next twist and mystery.
This series continues to be a fast-paced procedural with interesting twists and turns. Glad to see that Sarah is redeeming herself in the eyes of her superiors.
I really love this series but the ending of this book was very unsettling. I guess it's a great segue to the next book. Still. BLOOD IN THE HILLS has a great plot.
