She lived a life full of unimaginable pain. The torture eventually took her mind. She didn’t know who she was or how she became a prisoner of this hellish place. The only thing she knew for certain was that she had to escape.
FBI agent Emma Griffin witnessed atrocities firsthand as a child. She grew up determined to fight crime, often putting her own life at risk.
When a mystery woman is found by the roadside with signs of severe abuse. Emma is called to investigate. The woman has no memory of who she is or where she came from. And the case soon comes to a halt when no new leads are found.
But when a possible connection emerges and Jane Doe’s memory starts to return. Emma begins to unearth an insidious crime network. One linked to countless atrocities, murders, and missing persons. Soon it becomes evident that many lives depend on Emma solving this case.
There are things one must do to survive. The price of her survival extracts an unimaginable toll... One with mass casualties.
While I really enjoy this series, the ending of Doe's story was really rushed, which is very disappointing since it spanned several books. She's found her adoptive father in the hospital waiting for her to wake up, and that's it. That's all we get. No idea if upon seeing him she gets her memory back, no idea if she gets her memory back. Nothing. We get invested in a character and while we know she's safe in the end, and how she ended up in the situation to begin with, we get nothing about her ending. Too abrupt and lacking.

I am so glad to be finished reading the Emma Griffin series. It was so confusing with so many storylines in each book. The finding of Doe's family took forever! There was more to find out about that story that didn't get solved. If it was all in one book it would have been easier to follow. I expected some closure on her story in the last chapter of book 42, but the last chapter started with new characters. I love the Juniper Springs series, and the Riley Quinn series is good too. But there is too much of an overlap and excessive wording in the Emma Griffin series.
This story is very complex and full of twists. But you have to just keep reading to find the answers. Emma is so good at piecing out the clues and arriving at a conclusion her readers are anxiously awaiting. Finally the answers are in this book that have been coming thro the last couple books. These stories are always so good, so intriguing that I can never stop in the middle. I have to get thro to the final conclusion.
For the first time ever I’m so disappointed in this Emma Griffin book. All the back and forth and repeated stories had me skipping pages and chapters just to finally get to the end. I’m sorry A J Rivers. I love your books but I’m glad this one is done. Hopefully on to better writing
I am a big fan of the Emma Griffin series but this one was very disappointing. So much repeat material and endless inner dialogue that did not contribute to the story. Doe’s story conclusion could have been easily told in much shorter format. This one just felt like the author was trying to get out a book so reused old material to achieve the length.
The shocking conclusion of Doe's story is here, and you do not want to miss it! Emma finally uncovers the truth about what happened to Doe, including her real name, relatives and how everything happened. The twisted end to Doe's story is incredible!
It was a long time coming, but we finally have all the answers for Doe. In the last 7 books, the story has been building and the pieces have been coming together. And what a great story puzzle it was! Now on to the next "season" of cliff hangers.
I was disappointed in this book. The story of Doe was told in past, present, and also from Doe's perspective and Emma's perspective. I hate to say but I found the story to be too repetitive, tedious and rather confusing at the end.
Oh my gosh! I was on pins and needles for this whole story! And, again, that ending-I think Ma Rivers is the queen of suspenseful endings! Thank goodness she doesn’t make the wait long before the next story!
I love AJ Rivers , but after dragging out Doe’s story over multiple books and copying larges amounts of Doe’s story from previous books into this one, the author abruptly ends the case. It was unsatisfying.
Its rare for me to give anything less than 5 stars to Ms River's books but..I'm confused and disappointed in the ending of this one. While it kept me up reading, it ended with abruptness and another mystery without closure of Doe!
A quarter of the book is just repeat of the last book. Just filling up space. Doe past which is everything we knew and then jump Emma present. Just not wild about this book
This was a awesome story about Emma going all out to find out what happened to Doe and never giving up in her search to find answers with lots of suspense and action . Thank you for this excellent story.
If you're a reader of this series, this book gave good backstory information about Doe. It didn't feel as well-formed as other stories, but it provided some context. Now we'll wait to see what happens next with Doe and see if she is reunited with her dad.
