A highly useful guide and approach for serious bloggers
I decided this year to maintain and grow my blog, and though I've started doing many of the strategies Jonathan writes about from his own experience as a successful blogger, he provides a solid framework for how to grow and monetize blogging using various income streams and approaches. This book provides strategies for how to think about setting up a blogging routine, planning related projects, and making connections with other bloggers. This book is for someone not new to blogging, but who has already started and is looking for ways to focus and get some direction. I highlighted lots of passages and tips in this book, and will be using it as a guide throughout the year.
Practically everyone is blogging these days. Blogs range from amateurish efforts at self-expression to fairly professional how-to and advice blogs that actually add value to our lives. The 15 Success Traits of Pro Bloggers: A Proven Roadmap to Becoming a Full-time Blogger by Jonathan Milligan peels back the curtain of full-time professional blogging for anyone who is interested in taking blogging to the next level. While Milligan doesn’t claim that his roadmap is an absolute guarantee of success, he does offer practical advice that will improve your blogging, whether or not your goal is to make a living from blogging. As with all self-help books, this one must be read with an open, but relatively skeptical mind, remaining aware that not all of the steps work for everyone. That said, the benefits of blogging, and the debunking of many of the myths about blogging are useful for any writer. In fact, one can use many of Milligan’s ideas in any kind of writing endeavor. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my review. I found it to be well-written, not overdone in the hype department, and useful for any reader who wants to communicate better. I don’t entirely agree with the ‘proven’ in the subtitle – nothing is ever 100% - but, the hints, advice, and traits outlined in this book are valid. If you’re contemplating going into blogging full-time, this is probably a reference you want to keep handy.

First, diss fear.

Tier Two—Habits…how to spend your time, ‘cause that’s priority. Switch off clock time, work on event time finishing priority stuff first.
Tier Three—Systems…grow into your business fostering growth
Tier Four—Leverage…passive money

And remember: It starts today.

Helpful and thoughtful and has soul. Not just another blogging book. Definitely took notes and applied to my work. Well written and succinct. Didn’t’t understand how To create a framework according to his definition. He should outline the process to get it so what he calls a building a framework.
This was both an easy to read book and a clear system for success as a pro blogger. An excellent foundational approach to developing the mindset, resources, and practices of a professional.
Jonathan Milligan packs this book for actionable and hopeful information. His experience and knowledge in the subject of blogging and becoming a more effective longer is unmatched as far as I have written. An excellent resource!
In his book Milligan provides a simple blueprint with actionable summaries of the 4 significant habits that aspiring bloggers should add to their daily routine if they want to become online professionals. The goal of the book is to teach you what it takes to achieve maximum results with your blog, how to get your blog noticed by more people, and what types of content generate the most traffic. I would say that if you are just starting out as a blogger you should read it straight through. If you’ve been blogging for a while you might be interested to jump further to the actual processes.
