Tari Riley is a fantasy and romance author, although she occasionally dabbles in other genres since inspiration knows no bounds.
When she's not writing, you'll probably find her listening to music, solving jigsaw puzzles, watching shows (she loves a good K-Drama) or creating mood boards or playlists for her stories. That's right; everything is an excuse for Tari to daydream about her stories.
I’ve been enjoying the mix of office drama, romance, and scandal from the start, but Episode 3 felt like the point where everything started to unravel in ways I didn’t expect.
Beatrice’s encounter with someone from her past added a sharp emotional edge, and I could feel her discomfort through the writing. Caleb’s day being thrown off by that Click! article was another reminder of how fragile his public image is, and how quickly the media can twist things. Nina’s storyline, her weekend plans derailed by family issues showed just how much she’s still struggling with the past she thought she’d left behind.
I also liked how Daniel and Jonathan’s arcs added balance. Daniel supporting his sister gave the episode a softer, more personal touch, while Jonathan’s plans for his café hinted at bigger things to come. And then there’s Anastasia, her return to old friends and enemies at the charity auction was pure drama. That event was packed with tension, secrets, and revelations that made me want to keep turning the pages.
What I love about this serial is how it feels like watching a TV show. Each episode builds on the last, weaving together multiple perspectives and storylines, and Episode 3 really nailed that interconnected drama. The scandals, the emotional stakes, and the cliffhanger ending all left me eager for the next installment.
“YELL. AT. ME.” Yes, Caleb Wolf is a man after my heart! And everything that leads to THIS moment?! Swooooooooooon 🫠🫠🫠
Revelations is the third episode of Tari Riley’s Risky Business serial, and this New York City drama is now officially at a breaking point. 🏙️💥
This episode lived up to its name; the secrets are (almost) out, and the stakes are through the roof. Revelations finally peeled back the layers I’ve been waiting for. The tension is high, the “click” of the shutter is constant, and the cliffhanger has me reeling. Between the scandal and the high-stakes New York backdrop, it’s impossible to put down.
I love how this episode gives us a bigger glimpse than ever into every character. Beatrice ☑️ Caleb ☑️ Nina ☑️ ANASTASIA ☑️☑️
I feel honoured for not only being introduced to the idea of a serial in the world of books, but also for being allowed to keep coming back as an advance reader. Now I never want to leave! Thank you! ♥️♥️♥️
One city. Six POVs. A whole lot of drama. Check it all out in Risky Business episode 3.
This is part three of a story written as a serial. To understand the various plots, you either need to grab the first two OR read the handy recap at the front of the book.
The story follows six people with interconnected stories, whose lives cross paths in ways you don’t expect. This episode is the end of the first volume, centering on a long awaited charity gala. There’s scheming parents, a couple of delightfully awful villains, and plenty of unresolved tension flying around.
Romance-wise - there is plenty of angst and confusion, but the book is spice free. It does come with some potential triggers, such as homophobia and outing a closeted character, classism, paparazzi/tabloid news, and parents showing their various terrible shades of parenting.
If you want a contemporary romance serial read that will have you eager for the next episode, add Risky Business to your TBR.
I can never be chill about this series, if I am being so honest. Every single time I say the exact same thing and every time it feels the exact same, like a tv show is written out on pages. I yearn for the next episode, I know exactly where we picked back up from even if I have read many stories in between. I hold onto every word. I feel almost too attached that it’s concerning to every character.
Something that I love about this series is that all these peoples lives connect. Whether rich going to auction balls, or living in an apartment with your best friend and her partner. The partner who is finally getting business in his little cafe. All of it connects. The world of this series feel so small but so large at the same time and I cannot exaggerate how this series makes me feel.
Holding onto hope for episode 4… please read this series I need more people to talk to about it PLEASE!!!
I love this serial so much! Having a book series written as if it was a TV show is a really fun and refreshing new style that gets you super hooked into it! At the end of each episode, I am always left wanting more!
The relationship dynamics and evolutions are so well written. The author does a great job tying together each persons POV to the storyline, and I have never had a hard time following what is going on.
This episode really started bringing everything together from the other 2, and I spent the whole read being shocked with the new revelations!
I can't wait to continue following the Risky Business storyline to see what happens with Caleb, Nina, and the rest of the characters!
Thank you to the author for an ARC of Risky Business Episode 3! I absolutely adore these books, and I’m truly invested in each of these characters and Tari does an incredible job at getting you hooked into each individual storyline! I highly recommend reading these if you’re looking for an episodical series full of drama, office romance and allll the Gossip Girl vibes!
really enjoying this serial!! i love uncovering more about these characters and i was rooting for anastasia this episode!! i already can’t wait for the next one!
This episode of the book is even more exciting than the previous ones with several new revelations unfolding about Anastasia, Caleb and Beatrice’s past. The growing closeness between Aaron and Nina, despite being labeled as “no expectations,” adds a subtle twist to the story. The author balances suspense and character development really well and the big twist at the end leaves a strong impact. The slow-burn tension is building beautifully, making it hard to wait for the next episode.
