If there was anything Amelia wanted to be, it was to not be a princess. When the circus comes to her castle, she makes her escape with them and begins to fall in love with Easton, the trapeze artist. But as time goes on, Amelia uncovers a nefarious plot, ending her career in the circus and leaving her without a home. As her life unravels more and more, Amelia will she be able to return home, or has she broken too many ties with her family?
Meredith knew since she was 14 she was going to be an author one day! She loved writing stories even more than reading itself! While she loves to write and read, she also finds joy in art and cover designing! She is a wife and mom (cat mom too!) and loves to be at the beach or in the mountains.
This was such a fun, fast-paced adventure that I really enjoyed. Amelia is the kind of heroine I love, bold, fiery, and determined to stand her ground even when it costs her. Her temper definitely gets her into trouble more than once, but it also makes her feel real.
I absolutely loved the “runaway princess joins the circus” storyline. It had that perfect mix of whimsy and tension, and watching Amelia grow through everything she faced was so satisfying. And Easton was the sweetest balance to her fire, steady, supportive, and exactly what she needed without ever overshadowing her strength.
There’s a deeper layer woven in with the unraveling of her life and the choices she has to face, especially when it comes to family and where she truly belongs. That prodigal daughter thread added so much heart to the story.
Overall, this was a quick, engaging read with adventure, emotion, and just the right touch of romance. Such a lovely story.
Thank you to the author for the ecopy these thoughts are my own.
Advanced Reader Review Thank you to the author for this wonderful read! Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This clean romance novel from author Meredith Oswalt combines elements of The Greatest Showman with ideals from the Biblical parable of Luke 15, the prodigal son which makes it very interesting and engaging!
When Amelia O’Conner, princess of Ireland, runs away to join the circus, she meets flying trapeze artist Easton Dubois. Together, they take to the stage as an unlikely duo, only to find that things aren’t as they seem.
If Finding Home could be summed up in one word, it would be redemption. It was well developed with a few unexpected twists, and a heart-warming homecoming. If there was one thing I can say needed work, it was the pacing of the story. It did feel a little rushed at times, but all-in-all, this is a solid four-star read for me; and one I highly recommend to those looking for a clean, biblical take on romance via the circus life.
It takes a talented author to evoke emotions in the readers, so what I am about to say is a compliment to Meredit Oswalt. I was super ANNOYED at Ameila. She was selfish, naive, and quick tempered. I did love how the story ended. Amelia ended up having a good redemption arc, which I was very pleased to see.
Meredith Oswalt has beautiful imagery in her story. The side characters reactions to Amelia felt genuine, which I loved.
This is the perfect read for the teenage reader who is looking for romance, but doesn't want the spice! It was a clean, kisses and hugs only story.
Finding Home tells the story of Amelia O’Connor, princess of a futuristic Ireland. Amelia is tired of being a princess and everything involved with the royal life. As her family makes plans to host a celebration at the palace, Amelia forms her own plan to escape her royal life, running away to join the circus. She is quickly accepted into her new circus family by the ringmaster, Philip, the contortionist and ringmaster’s daughter, Selena, and the trapeze artist, Easton. However, while Amelia’s adventures with the circus start off great, things soon take an unexpected turn that puts Amelia’s new life and relationships at risk.
I was hooked on Finding Home from the beginning, constantly wanting to know what was going to happen next. I felt like I was right there with Amelia on her journey throughout the book and feeling everything right along with her. There were times where I was on the edge of my seat as Amelia faced challenges, and other times where I was swooning over the sweet romantic moments. Meredith did an amazing job of creating a story with an engaging plot, realistic characters, and a message of joy and forgiveness.
I would highly recommend Finding Home to anyone who loves YA fiction featuring adventure, romance, and authentic relationships. The Greatest Showman vibes combined with the retelling of the story of the Prodigal Son in this book make it so fun and engaging for both teen and adult readers. I know you will love this book!
This was a sweet love story about a princess who becomes discontent with her life and runs away to join the circus. It has a strong Prodigal Son thread running through it, with themes of forgiveness, honesty, contentment, and the danger of letting bitterness take root. I really appreciated the heart behind the story and how it ultimately points back to grace and restoration.
There were so many great quotes in this book that I highlighted. It was a love story, but so much more. It had amazing life lessons woven throughout.
The writing style is very simple and straightforward, which makes it a quick, easy read. If you enjoy redemption stories and character journeys that focus on growth and coming back home, there’s a meaningful message here.
Thank you to the author for sending me an advanced copy of this book. These are my honest thoughts.
