This was well worth the wait oh my goodness. Everything I needed from book two was given to me with Oklahoma and Nariko, they were so perfect. 😍

If there's anything in this world Oakley hates it's storm chasers. Losing the most important person to him in a tragic accident absolutely left a sour taste in his mouth. Getting turned into a vampire moments later was just icing on the cake. He knows at minimum he gets 200 years and he plans to just live his life on the farm Kentucky (Book 1) helped him buy, rescuing animals, and doing his own thing. Nariko has made an entire career out of chasing tornadoes. Her and her crew, the Dust Bunnies, are very well known and she's damn good at what she does. A last minute decision to bust through a locked gate to get the picture of the decade brought her right onto Oklahoma's property. Did I mention he hates storm chasers? He's not thrilled when he sees this girl and her equipment on his property. He's even less than thrilled when he scents her and everything inside him comes to life for the first time in the 20 years since he died. He's even more than less than thrilled when he finds out vampires can't live without their fated mates once they find them. I am so, so, SO happy that we got to see Lorcan again and as expected he was sassy as hell and even more feisty than usual! I was living for the insta-lust, insta-love, not really fighting the pull. Nari was all about that vampire from moment one and she did not give a single solitary fck about whether it was normal or weird or not worth it 😂 I love it for her, truly. Oakley is so precious and deserved all the amazing things after all the heartbreak and misery he experienced. Their love was swoon worthy, their spice was absolutely delicious, and now I'm impatiently waiting for the next one 😂😂😂

**Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5 Stars) — *Twisters* meets sexy cowboy vampires! January Rayne does it again.**

Wow, what a ride that was! I have loved January Rayne since I first read *Honeysuckles*, and she has yet to write a book I haven't absolutely devoured and been obsessed with. This book is no different!

Oklahoma is our cowboy vampire MMC. He hates storm chasers because of the tragic death of his brother, and since then, he has been living his life as an animal rescuer, keeping everyone around him at arm's length. He is dealing with some major survivor's guilt, which is totally understandable. One day, someone breaks onto his land, and he rides out on his horse, Van Gogh, to investigate.

Here is where we meet Nariko (Nari), our FMC, and her group of storm chasers. They are currently following a storm and break through one of Oklahoma's gates to get closer to it. When the storm passes, Oklahoma shows up and—surprise!—Nari is his fated mate!! That's all I am saying about the plot because you guys definitely need to experience this book for yourselves. I mean, come on! Who wouldn't want to read a book that's basically *Twisters* but with sexy-as-hell cowboy vampires?! Lol.

I loved all the characters! We get some amazing cameos from previous books, like Kentucky from *Kentucky Nights*, and we get Lorcan back!! I would literally die for a book where Lorcan finally gets a mate.

I really loved that Nari didn't fight the connection. She jumped in headfirst, and I adored her sass and backbone! And the spice? Phew!! HOT! 🥵 But I have definitely come to expect that from a January Rayne book! Haha.

I am so looking forward to the next book in the series!

**P.S.** Is anyone else thinking that the Phoenix girl at the end was looking for Nari's brother...? 🤔

This book was a nice start into reading after a book break. The Shallow Cove universe continues to grow and with each book the picture of this world expands. Honestly, I am loving the world building that January Rayne is doing. This book had a fun plot with the storm chasing blending with the paranormal elements. I was on the edge of my seat by the end, flying through the pages trying to see the outcome of this story. I still love the way that January writes fated mates.


FMC: Nariko is a strong willed independent storm-chaser. This is my first book with actual storm chasing in it that I can remember reading. I found myself holding my breath a few times throughout the story. I loved her bond with her brother and the spin on a storm chasing team that has a social media following.

MMC: Oklahoma or Oakley is a emotionally scared man living with survivors guilt from the passing of his brother. He was fiercely protective with caring heart. I love the animal rescue that he runs on the ranch. I am still chuckling about Kevin. His friendship with Jazz and Westin was heartwarming, definitely the kind of friends you would want to have your back.



I know I've said it before, but I hope Lorcan gets his own book eventually, he deserves his own HEA. Honestly I love the his antics in all of the Shallow Cove books that he appears in.


If you enjoy paranormal romance then you should definitely give this series a read, it doesn't disappoint. I look forward to reading more in the Dead Man's Ranch series in the future.

Oklahoma and Nariko!!!

I’m going to start with how I enjoyed the opening to this book. It was different than other titles by January but I liked the snap shot to get us started versus the typical blast from the past chapter throughout the story. I find that is easier to remember than the back and forth of past and present flashes!

So wow ok this book was emotional deep. Spicey and unique. Also let’s talk about the animal rescue how freaking awesome to have a vampire cowboy with the biggest soft spot for any and all animals!

Oklahoma was sad and Nari really throws him a big bone but keeps him on his toes given she’s a storm chaser and he hates storm chasers! Talk about opposites attract at an all time high. I was hear for it though I’m a firm believer in making life uncomfortable and figuring out how to make it work for you because let’s be real life is very uncomfortable and it’s what you make of it.

I’m in awe my fair queen January thank you for making you books suck you in (pun intended) and have you finishing still wanting more but being happy with what we get! Also never stop cross overs I love the Easter eggs from other books makes me giggle and kick my feet like a school girl! Read the book you won’t be disappointed!

Oklahoma Storms sucks you in (multiple puns intended) from the action packed first chapter. As someone who's more than a little fascinated by tornadoes and extreme weather, I really liked how realistic the stormy parts of the story felt.

The plot moves like an EF-5, quickly establishing and crossing the paths of Nariko and Oklahoma. It's a classic tale of the storm chaser meeting the storm hater, but with more blood and more spice.

Oklahoma is kind and quiet, and a little bit undead, running an animal shelter with a few friends. He's haunted by loss and often wonders why he survived while his brother did not. Nariko is independent and headstrong, always chasing the next big storm. Even if fate threw them together, Nariko could never stop chasing and Oakley would never ask her to. I like that he wanted to see her shine, even if it terrified him.

It's a quick read, with enough action and angst to keep you turning the pages. As always, Lorcan comes in with the comedic relief and we get to see the pieces come together for the next chapter.

January is a writer I start the book first and read the blurb later. Never has it let me down and this just completely blew my mind. The way it pulled me in from the beginning. I mean tornados and storm chasers... The innovation is impeccable. Oklahoma is a cinnamon roll of a MC. He drove me insane the way he just couldn't communicate. Nariko was pretty much all in and Oakley just made things unnecessarily difficult. The tension from that. He'd get to a good point where he would tell her and he would fumble. I enjoyed the fight in his head. He didn't actually avoid her or their bond. He just avoided the messy feelings and truth. I'm not sure how she manages to pack so much in these books but it's magical. There was actual meteorology facts but not overwhelming. Just enough to develop the story. As well as her heritage. Everything flowed well. Lastly I did receive this as an arc but I'm not obligated to leave this review.

Oklahoma and Nariko are truly fated mates. You could feel the instant attraction between them. It only grew the more time that they spent together. I love Nariko. She has a strong thriller seeker appetite. No man or tornado will stop her!

I thought it was funny that Oklahoma being immortal, is not a fan of putting himself in danger. So to have Nariko as his fated mate is pure gold.

If you are a longtime fan of January like me, then, you know she brings the spice every time. While I loved every intimate moment between Nario and Oklahoma, it was the strong storyline and interactions between these two that I loved the most.

"And I'll chase her to the edge of eternity. Forever. And no storm will ever be able to stop me."

I was captivated from start to finish. Oklahoma had my heart, to go to what he went through and overcome it because of his mate was so selfless of him. He tried to fight the bond but didn’t even last a few hours and I found that really cute
And let’s not forgetttttt our beautiful Nariko!! omg I LOVE AND LOVE how she didn’t stop doing what she loved because of her mate. She was straight with him and I loved that, she put him in his place and gave him the reality check he needed.
And omg the plot twist about the storms was amazing I’m hoping we get to see her again and I hope she’s ruka’s mate😭 I am so intrigued and can’t wait to see what the next book is about.

Let’s just start off with how incredibly emotional the prologue is. I was already on the edge of my seat not wanting to put this book down. Oklahoma was everything you want in a cowboy and fate would give him the biggest challenge as a mate. He has a lot of emotional trauma from losing his brother and hates storm chasers. Nariko is living her best life doing what she loves best- storm chasing- and isn’t about to give that up for anyone. January knows how to write our strong but tragic MMC with a fierce FMC here to save them both.

I loved how January knows how to not only make you fall in love with the main characters, but also all every single side character you meet. Kevin needed more screen time but thankfully our good buddy Lorcan made an appearance in true Lorcan fashion.

Wow. This was awesome! I love storms and always have and January brought so much of that. She used real information and it made it super interesting and informative. I really love this series. I loved Kentucky. But Oklahoma? Woah. This man can own me anytime he wants. 🤣 I loved him. And I'm just a little jealous of Nariko. I love how focused he is on every single thing about her. Nariko was awesome too. She was super strong and smart. But she was also open minded when it came to all things paranormal. She didn't fight her feelings for Oklahoma. I loved that so much. The secondary characters added so much too. January hit it out of the freaking park with this one. I can't wait for the next.

A beautiful addition to the dead man’s ranch series…Cowboys, vampires and spice, what more could a girl ask for?

Action packed from the very start and I really didn’t want to put my kindle down. It’s both emotional and intense I couldn’t wait to see what was in store.

I loved both main characters, they suit each other so well, their pairing was just perfect!

Attention to detail was fab and I could tell January put so much research into the topics of all things storms and tornados, I do love learning new things in the books I read without it feeling like I’m learning 😂

I ADORE January’s spice scenes, she nails it every time! Not too much and not too little (but nothing is little when it comes to this author’s MMC’s 👀)

I was absolutely captivated while reading this book.

Oklahoma and Nariko have my entire heart. Oklahoma is one of the sweetest MMCs I’ve ever read. He is such a cinnamon roll character. Nariko is such a badass, damn near fearless. They balance each other out perfectly and i lived seeing them fall in love. Oklahoma really overcame what he hated most for his Beloved.

Oakley is so scared during the first half of the book that Nari will reject him because he’s a vampire, and the entire time she’s like “I know he’s not fully human and I don’t give one single f*ck about it”.

I love this book, this series, and this entire world so much. And I cannot wait to see what January brings us next 🖤

Another amazing vampire cowboy story by January Rayne!! This story definitely opens up with a tear jerker, but it shows the realistic side of life.. loss and chaos. Oklahoma was always by his brother Banks side when he was storm chasing. Storm chasing ended up being something he despised, and swore off all chasers. Until years later he runs into Nariko. She seemd to be more important than what meets the eye…and it’s got Oklahoma intrigued.
This is an amazing story of cowboys, vampires and the western storms. I don’t wanna say too much and spoil anything but I love that Nariko was able to make the grumpy cowboy soft, only for his mate.

If you like paranormal books then January Rayne is the author you want read the stories she comes up with to me are incredible and I love them. I'm always wondering what's going to happen next.
I love all the characters Nariko and Ruka (Sister and brother) are tornado chasers. Enter Oklahoma his brother had been a chaser and died from. So he hates chasers, or does he? Oklahoma and his friends Westin and Jazz have certain abilities. Someone has a bun in the oven.
Fated Mates, tornado chasers, a lady comes out of nowhere causes a ruckus. That's all I'm saying...Read the book! You won't put it down.

I’m not here to yuck anybody’s yum, but country cowboy romances are just not what floats my boat. January Rayne books, however, are totally what floats my boat. I think it takes a special kind of writer to get me into a cowboy romance, and January is that kind of writer.

To say I’m shocked by how much I enjoyed Oklahoma Storms would be an understatement, but it’s true! It was awesome. The non-traditional cowboy part definitely helped. I’m feral for January’s brand of vampires, and Oklahoma sure doesn’t disappoint.

Extra spice level for the tornado scene. Is tornado play a thing? If not, it is now. I loved everything about this book. 10/10 would read again!

I loved reading this. Oklahoma has endured life in a way no one should have to. And it makes me sad to think of what's he lost and wanting to go alone. Nariko doesn't have any fear and I wish I could be like that. She goes in when everyone is running out. And she takes Oklahoma and what is he with ease. They are such a cute couple. I love that she doesn't take no nonsense from Oklahoma. And of course I got my laughs in with Lorcan. I love this author and all of her books so this one I knew woudn't dissapoint me.

Oklahoma is amazing, I personally would love a bit more back story on the FMC and MMC as well as more Lorcan (he is just the perfect comedic relief) but still amazing! I think I caught on to who the Phoenix experiment was looking for! His name might start with an A?! I loved how Oklahoma did his brother justice and saved Ruka (Nariko’s Brother) so she didn’t have to suffer then same way Oakley did. What a true gentleman ❤️

This book was everything this Okie needed in her life! Oklahoma has turned into my favorite MMC, he is sweet, intimating and everything in-between. Nari, I just loved her. Her spirit for chasing clouds and her love for her family is amazing. This book took me by storm. I would follow the Dust Bunnies for every storm that brews here in Oklahoma. You can tell that January Rayne did her research into our kind of 'nadors. I can't wait to have the physical copy in my hand.


PS I can't wait to see what's next with Lorcan and the IYKYK twist.

It lost one star ONLY for the fact that cowboys aren't my "thing". But make that cowboy a vampire? OK, I'll bite 🫦 🧛‍♂️ Oklahoma is a teddy bear with trauma, Nariko is a badass with no fear. Together, it is balance. This book felt like the movie Twister with the action packed plot, but add paranormal aspects and January's classic banter and humor into it. Oh and spice..lots of spice. 🥵 Even if this isn't your typical genre, its worth the read!! January is another Auto-Buy Author for me so no matter what it is, I'll dive in and always come out loving it! ♥️

Another book added to my favorites. If you loved Kentucky from the Dead Man's Ranch series, You will fall fangs first for Oklahoma. Now add a twister or two and you get a vampire twister vibe that will leave you wanting more to this series. Absolutely loved both Oklahoma, Nariko, Ruka and the Dust Bunnies. These characters come to life and jump straight from the pages with the writing style January seems to have. One day I hope to see a story about Lorcan because he is coming my favorite pain from this and the Eternally series.

Wow Oklahoma and Nariko story was one amazing read! It was sad to see what Oklahoma loss and from that loss his view of the world has make him a bit hesitate. But as you can’t escape fate and it has its sense of humor they put Nariko on Oklahoma path. And from that point on it was beautiful seeing how Oklahoma comes to love his mate and be there for her even in his moments of fear. Their story was great to read and I definitely would love more of this series!

I took a small break from my MM loves to jump to Ranye's newest book because I just adore the way she writes and I was not disappointed!

Oklahoma and Nariko are perfection! It was kinda adorable how Oklahoma tried for all of 2 seconds to fight the bond when he saw Narkio!

Narkio really stole the show though! I loved how strong willed she was! Even though Oklahoma hated her job, she didn't give up and stood her ground with him! She is a no bull crap tough women!

I loved this one so much. The original Twister movie is one of my all time favorites and weather is so beautiful. So I absolutely loved that January took her take on it. Was absolutely beautiful.

Nariko and Oklahoma are one of the best couples. Their stubborn as hell, but also so beautiful and inspiring with how much they love each other, care about their work and family.

Oklahoma is the 2nd book in the dead man’s ranch series! Oklahoma was turned the night he lost his brother in an Oklahoma tornado.. The one thing Oklahoma hates is tornadoes and the people who chase it. Until one night a storm chasers end up on his land and it changes everything for Oklahoma.. Not only has he found his mate but he has gained a family. I can’t wait for the rest of the series.. Fingers crossed we will get Lorcan book..

I always love reading anything by January Rayne, and this book is no different! Oklahoma and Nariko are wonderful characters, and their connection is fantastic!! It's fast paced but there is so much depth to the characters (including the side characters!) and their histories. The spice is AMAZING!!!

If you liked Twister and love a spicy, fast paced story with Vampires, you'll love this!!
