The high school news beat is usually about cheating, both on tests and on people. Recently, all that’s changed. Missing boys, thrown basketball games, a body. I might be in over my head with a murder investigation but this new guy with shady connections wants to help. My dad wouldn’t like him. He doesn’t fit in with my future plans but I can’t stop thinking about him. And honestly, with Bam at my back, I feel like I can do anything.
Bam
I’ve got no family and no future. Joining a gang was a natural move for someone like me. I take each day on its own, happy I’m still alive. Meeting Josie tilts my world. I’m starting to think tomorrow might be just as important as today so long as Josie’s in it. She ventures into places I don’t think are safe, but her light’s so bright I can’t hold her back. All I know is that if she lets me, I’ll watch her back forever.
Dual Virgins! *obligatory happy dance!* (each others first and only everything!)
(they talk about how the virgin makes it out alive in horror movies and Bam tells her he is one too, she doesn't believe him, but he is telling her the truth; I love that we get that exchange in the beginning of the book as it put my mind at ease as to their status), Quote, Bam motions with his other hand to the old, run-down warehouse that belongs in a very scary movie. It seriously has Freddy Krueger written all over it. “Change of heart?” Bam asks when I don’t move. “No.” I swallow. “I’m just worried for you. You know.” “Because I don’t have the virgin safety net?” he teases. I roll my eyes because while true, I still find that rather annoying. I don’t want to think about him with anyone else. Not that I’m falling for him. Nope, that’s not happening here. I’m only worried my assistant here could catch something. “Yep, we can go with that.” “Well, rest assured, little rebel. I’m a virgin too.” “Right,” I bark a laugh. His brows rise. “You’re messing with me.” “I guess now you don’t know if I’m fucking with you.” “I think I’d know that.” I bet he’s big everywhere. “Oh, I promise you’ll know.” end quote.
(First time being intimate, Bam is clear about being her first in all ways), Quote, “I want it, Bam,” I answer his unspoken question. That’s all the man needs to hear. Before I know what’s happening, he has my shirt off along with my bra. “Holy crap,” I gasp. I can’t even take my bra off that fast. “You’re good at that.” “I pick locks. I think I can handle a bra. Especially when I’m trying to get to these.” His hand engulfs my entire breast. I suck in a breath as it clicks in my head that I am topless in bed with him. “Nice save.” “It’s not a save.” His thumb strokes my nipple, sending a sensation through my whole body. The hell. It’s never done that when I’ve touched them. Then again, I’ve never fondled myself. “I’ve never done any of this before, Josie. Just so we are clear. Got it?” How is that possible? My mind begins to race with so many questions, but before I can verbalize any of them, Bam leans down, taking my nipple into his mouth. end quote.
(Josie gives him his first blow job and it is her first time trying it), Quote, After my first blow job, we have our first argument. end quote.
(this is after they first have sex, Josie's dad calls her and this exchange between Bam and her is just adorable!), Quote, “He’s going to hate me.” “He does not,” I counter. Bam doesn’t appear convinced, but he grabs my phone off the nightstand. “Do not tell him we’re naked in bed and that you took my virginity.” I burst into laughter. “I suppose I did.” “Or that yours is gone, too.” end quote.
Safe No cheating No OM/OW drama No OM/OW comparisons No separation No gross condom use No stupid third act break up HEA HS romance with safe MC ties, mystery to solve, light in tone, low angst but still has just enough to keep us turning the pages. (No serious drama between our two lovebirds, they are a solid unit!)
So, this is the story of Josie, a high school sleuth who always has her trusty notebook. She is curious, nosey, bold, adventurous, funny, and loves to solve a good mystery. She does keep our Bam on his toes. He was a flirt in the first book which I didn't like (I hate flirtatious heroes and he was a bit with a woman owing money in the last book). With this in mind, I did not look forward to his story, but Ella Goode did a good job showing us his true nature. He is only flirtatious with Josie and when a girl at school was appraising him, he hurriedly got out of there. I still didn't like the flirty Bam we met in the first book, but I am glad he stopped in this book (otherwise I would have stopped reading altogether). Bam is very protective, serious, stuck to Josie like glue, he is bold, big, strong and part of the Rider club. His job is to use his fists to get loan payments back and that put a big pause in his view of life once he met Josie. Josie is supportive of him doing what makes him comfortable and happy with zero judgment. I love that about her so much! Considering she is diabetic, he always monitors her food and insulin to make sure she is ok, since he felt guilty buying her chocolate cake when they met up at the cafe in the very beginning of the book. What I like is it doesn't come across as controlling, but protective which matters! A high school student is found dead in a warehouse, and these two sleuths now are on the case to find out who, what, when, where and how this happened. There a few breadcrumb trails that got me to guess correctly (worry not, no spoilers on anything to do with the case!). It is the fun part of a mystery too, putting my own detective hat on trying to solve it with them. The whole book is their relationship, experiencing intimacy, love, trust and a true partnership for the first time, a murder mystery to solve and him balancing his "gang" life with being with Josie. The whole gang thing is super safe. They don't do drugs, there are no women allowed, so it is not a seedy, gross group that you would usually find in this sub genre and I am thankful for it! We see Nikki and Andy (the couple in book 1), and it is great to see them again. Many sequences of events happen in the book, mainly the mystery and their relationship. I enjoyed it! I did love the relationship between Josie's dad and his acceptance of Bam, who has no family. He was a great secondary character. Bam considers Josie and Nikki (his best friend and the hero in book 1 "Rough Rider") his family and to add that paternal figure he needed got him emotional, and me as well. The ending is a happily ever after one that left me very happy! I enjoyed it and I do recommend it! It is an easy read and very pleasant. Of course, the many discussions on them being each others first, last and only everything is what made my heart soar, and it is why I will always, ALWAYS drop everything to read Ella Goode! Oh, and she is going to be back with another book! I don't know when but she hasn't disappeared *phew*. The true romantics need you Ella! She is one of the few authors that gifts us with first timers, and it is so hard to find in the romance sphere, so I treasure her books. Happy reading!

Wicked Rider de Ella Goode serie Bad boy high libro 2
Argumento:
Josie
Josie and Bam's story has a breezy charm that fits both of their characters. This is the second book in the series. While it's a standalone, I do recommend reading the first book because you meet both Bam and Josie in it and it enriches their story.
This book isn't as drama heavy as the first one. Bam helped provide some of the lighter moments in the first book and his character stays true in this one. This book has a mystery and a murder, but there's a Scooby Doo vibe to the plot. Josie, the heroine, is a mix of Nancy Drew and Velma. Bam, the hero, is Fred, Shaggy and Scooby all rolled into one. I was charmed by both characters and the mystery proceeded at a nice pace.
This is a safe read that does include language, adult content and some violence. The romance isn't rushed. There was a pretty big continuity error about Bam's parents being dead vs abandoning him. As neither point affects the plot, I don't even understand why it was included. It didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book.
There are some great secondary characters in this series that I hope get their own book. I especially hope to see Carter's story next. This was a fun book that I definitely recommend.
This 2nd book of Bad Boy High is as good as the 1st book.
Bam and Josie are a perfect couple. It’s great that Bam found his person since he’s now most in his own since Nikki got Andy.
Josie needed some to look after her since she’s a budding journalist that could get herself into trouble.
The story has the wonderful love story but is also funny and has lots of action too. The mystery was great and of course the great happy ending and wonderful epilogue.
It’s a perfect length and worth the wait. Please have a story about Clark.
It was a cute story overall. Definitely darker than Ella's stories have been historically, but still maintained the levity I fondly associate with her books. My biggest complaint is the small inconsistencies. For example, in the beginning of the story, Bam mentions that both of his parents are deceased, but then much later in the story he says his mom ran off. Just enough to pull me out of the story and have to look back to see if I remembered incorrectly or not. Thankfully there weren't many of these, but it was enough to bother me.
A+ for this second story in the Bad Boy High series. It had everything I want in a book - sweetness, steam, comedy, mystery and great characters. Bam was so sweet and vulnerable in his own way. Josie was just a hoot - smart and sassy and nosy. I loved the relationship the developed. And with Josie, Bam found a family that included a father figure. Loved it!
Bam & Josie I’m obsessed with you guys! I had already enjoyed the small snippets we got from the two of them individually in Rough Rider, but together they were so fun to read. Josie was so spunky, and she really did have Bam wrapped around her finger. These Bad Boys really fall hard and fast for their girls, and I love that! Solid book, and I’m loving the endings for this series.😍
Josie is a writer who wants to be a journalist and Bam is in a gang who beats people up if they don’t pay for what they owe the gang. He saw Josie in book 1 ‘rough rider’ and was instantly attracted to her.
They go on a murder mystery together in this book and fall in love in the process
I enjoyed both books in this series.fingers crossed, we get more. But Bam was my favorite! Of course, anything Ella writes is great, but these were sweet. The high school vibe is always fun. I highly recommend
Well, Ella Goode has done it again! Another amazing story. I absolutely loved this book and could not put it down. Bam is the sweetest and adores Josie and her father. I really loved both stories in this series and hope she does more like them in the future.
I loved this story. It was very well paced and had the mystery. Bam and Josie are too adorable together. I loves Josies Dad. Even though it takes longer to come out, I am enjoying the longer stories.
I liked this one much better than the first one. From the start, Bam was the sweetest protector. Story took some turns I wasn’t expecting, but overall good.
Siento que hubiera estado mejor si no hubieran alargado tanto lo de los chicos desaparecidos, porque lo del culpable me pareció tan random y sacado del culo. Pero lo demás me gustó.
