Daybreak: Twilight's Rival

Lorena’s life was quite fine until her boyfriend dumped her saying she was just a job. Things also went downhill when he declared he was getting married the next day.
A heartbroken breakdown was not out of line for a 19 year old. But, was it really necessary to see a shrink only to be told that some nobody was in love with her?
Some nobody who was a target in a war she was never in, liked her and thus she became a job to the love of her life? Some nobody was the reason she had been frozen and tortured and was counting down the days to when she would be exterminated now that she was a useless pawn?
So nobody mentioned that vampires could become human again if three of them stopped drinking blood and what do you know… This no name rogue was number three with a huge crush on her.
And now their only hope is the angels appearing to save them, an archangel to be exact.

Daybreak: Flatline is the story of Lorena's crazy life. Forget any vampire romance you have read before, Daybreak is so unique it is almost like it’s in its own genre. The book is marketed at Young Adult readers but it has the ability to cross age barriers and will satisfy both teenagers and adults alike.
The story is told in first person from the perspective of Lorena, so the reader only ever know what she knows, making Paul and his family a mystery that is slowly unraveled through out the book. Lorena herself is a well written and realistic character, shy and lacking in confidence, her sarcastic inner voice narrates the story for the reader.
Flatline is simply and yet beautifully written. The descriptions of Forks leave you feeling like you can almost smell the damp air and hear the rain falling on the roof.
The romance between Paul and Lorena is both touching and compelling. There is a melancholic feel to their impossible love, yet at the same time they both are unwilling to give up hope that their relationship is not doomed. The book reaches a fever pitch of excitement as the romance between Lorena and Paul turns into a frantic race to stay alive.
Flatline can be described as “a vampire story for people who don’t like vampire stories” and I think I would agree with that. This book really has something for everyone. Young adult readers, vampire fans or romance readers will all find Daybreak: Flatline to be an appealing story.
For a Young Adult novel the book is quite long but don’t let that put you off reading it because each page is to be savored. Believe me, this is one book that you won’t want to end.

I was never in love with vampires until Daybreak: Twilight's Rival. I didn’t know it was possible, but Elle Arcie changed the stereotypical blood-sucking vampire into a beautiful god-like creature.
In Daybreak: Twilight's Rival, an average college girl, Lorena, falls in love with one of the most beautiful boys at her new school, Paul, who happens to be a vampire. What does one call a stunning, mysterious vampire and his stunning, mysterious vampire family?
The author’s style and characters will glue your hands to the book and your eyes to the page. In no time, the book is over. But don’t worry – there are three sequels:
Twilight is well written from Lorena's point of view. It feels as though a movie is playing in your head.
Daybreak is such a magnificent book that it was a New York Times bestseller. Who would have thought that the idea for such an astonishing book could come from a dream the author had?
The theme is love conquers all, even the supernatural. Nothing stands in the way of love for Paul and Lorena. Or does it?
LRC’s style of writing will have you wanting to believe that there are gorgeous vampires roaming our world and just hopefully there will be Edwards for all of the girls who have fallen in love with this fictional yet breathtaking character. Since the characters’ love is forbidden, it only makes it better. After all, forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest.
