A good guide with practical advice that anyone on the journey to financial freedom should probably read. It starts with basic, common sense concepts and expands to touch on the more advanced areas. It does not profess to be the be-all and end-all of your journey, it allows you to work out your goal for yourself and it contains sound advice - based on personal experience. I am mostly skeptical of self-help-style books, especially related to finance, but this was worth the buy, and I will recommend and share this book to and with family and friends. As a self-confessed save-aholic already implementing a lot of these strategies, I still have found valuable insight into my behaviour and ideas on how to maximize the power of every cent.

I consider myself to have approximately average financial knowledge, and I was looking for something to enhance that. In particular, I was looking for "recipes" to combine financial and investing techniques to enhance returns. Despite the title and stated premise of the book, there are none here. Although it's a nice idea if it had been carried out with more effort and thought, the cooking analogy is stretched to the breaking point, and instead ends up being filler/padding rather than a driving force in the book.

As I said, I am no financial wizard, but I do have somewhat of a clue about money and basic money management, and I've been using all of the techniques in this book for years just through common sense. If you're looking for something to expand your financial horizons, this may not be a terrible place to start if you have no knowledge of basic financial matters (it's definitely an easy, non-technical read--possibly too non-technical), but if you do, you can safely skip this one.

This book was lent to me by a friend and I really enjoyed it. I thought that it might be a bit cheesy at first with the idea of comparing financial elements to recipes, however, I think that it will be a book that I’ll dip into from time to time.

It has crossed my mind before that keeping a budget financially can be compared to keeping within our calorie control, especially as I tend to go over on both! There are tips in this book about insurance, keeping a will, checking out investments and a range of other useful information.
Being a fan of self - development books I do find that there are common threads running through all of these books including visualization, meditation and keeping things as positive as possible though that said if this can help me keep some more money in the book and out of the shops that sounds good to me.

Whilst Ann Wilson has clearly financially benefited from not only her book but online Financial Freedom University courses - and has an engaging interview technique - it has certainly led onto financial problems for many people.
My husband (62) who followed her book and online course religiously for a year - has now borrowed far to much money in properties that he is unable to pay back and has now had to borrow further money from our business- until one house can be sold and the bond/loans paid off! There a few online scams that he invested in also after reading this book.
So I am afraid - I have to give it a bad review.

So i bought "The Wealth Chef" by Ann Wilson back in 2014 when my aunt called me, super excited, and said I just have to read this book! I started it, realised it actually required so much work, then abandoned it for about 4 years🙈 This book has helped me confront my money. Like really confront my money habits. I am so glad I am doing this now. I actually read through the book but I am still in the beginning stages of creating my wealth feast and following the guidelines in the book. This book has truly been an eye opener for me.

This book is filled with insights into what and how we tend to work for our money instead of learning how to make money work for us. Just a few tweaks in how we manage money can make you much richer. I especially like how Ann teaches you how to develop good money habits even if you have more month at the end of your paycheck.

If there is one thing I can improve from my 20years self skill, it is to learn investing skill. If only by that time, I started already I might be on the Forbes cover magazine by now (lol exaggeration). However, learning knows no time/age limit. It is never been too late, just how it mentioned in this book. This is a great book to read and practice, if you really want money to work for you (not the other way around). The key isn’t to focus on increasing your earning, but to increase your investments. I am more convinced to do it after reading this book and very looking forward to see the results in the next 5 years. In another side note, I am so glad that I finished this book before my Paris trip, else I might have brought those beautiful designer bags back.

A very basic book to point out the importance of managing your money, spending only on necessities, saving for future, curbing your desires and over spending, and after insuring yourself and your future, finding ways to make your money grow.

Easy to read, simple concepts, a great starting point for those with no prior experience managing personal finances. However, the book was full of typos (even in diagrams/flowcharts).
