About the author

CD Reiss is a New York Times bestselling author. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up she's at the well hauling buckets.

Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.

She's frequently referred to as the Shakespeare of Smut which is flattering but hasn't ever gotten her out of chopping a single cord of wood.

I have a full on 6 STAR LOVE for this LOVE story of EPIC proportions. It's about one of my FAVOURITE Book couples and a must for ALL EROTIC Romance Lovers!

The Submission series gave me the most amazing book experience. I read them back to back, I could not put them down. It's a story that drew me in and made me feel all lovely inside. It gave me the book tingles, big time.



It's the story of Monica and Jonathan; two people on the journey of their life. We get to experience the inner thoughts of Monica and then from about half way through we're treated to a dual perspective which is just sublime. I LOVE being inside Jonathan's head.



Jonathan has such a way with words, his hands, and his body... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE ♥ With each book and passing discovery he becomes more and more delicious. We see glimpses of his past, and the thing that made him spiral downwards all those years ago.

Monica is witty and intelligent, honest, real and honourable; a wonderful heroine.



The erotic steam factor for the entire series is off the scale. It has the kinky, dark edge of a controlling, powerful dominant and a sexy submissive who's not afraid to speak her mind, be independent and enjoy the pleasure. Jonathan and Monica’s relationship evolves in a wonderful way, it’s addictive viewing... Yes, it's viewing because CD shows amazing pictures with her words. The protagonists sizzle on the page together and erotically light it up. Monica and Jonathan have a great repartee between them, a jovial banter.



The pure beauty of it, is in the writing, it's subtly fantastic and the story is addictively brilliant. CD has created two characters whose chemistry together is perfectly harmonized. The feelings and emotions we get from them is palpable.They ooze sensuality together. Their attraction to each other is joyful. This is no accident, it's carefully crafted, captivating writing. The plot thickens with each episode; they struggle with what they want and what they think they should do. You feel in your heart they should be together but they need to find a way forward for this to happen. As the series progresses the writing becomes more and more intense, more layered with depth and charisma. Climaxing in the final, Sing, where my heart was squeezed and broken and hurt, it felt so good. It's gripping, tender, passionate and stunning.... Exquisitely erotic and seriously sexy. It reaches into your heart.



CD writes her words with a sprinkle of perfection. Truly...
I wish I could read it all again with fresh eyes.

It is no secret I have been a huge fan of C.D. Reiss' writing for quite some time. Ms. Reiss was the first writer of erotic romance which hit my heart outside of Tiffany Reisz.

I discovered Beg on the Amazon site and it was free. I had just started E-Reading and the free books were my guilty pleasure. I saw an attractive cover, read the blurb and was taken by the idea presented.

The idea of a woman on her way... becoming a musical artist...a singer with drive and talent. It threw in the meeting and attraction to a handsome, commanding man of immeasurable wealth and placed it all in Los Angeles. Well, I knew the music industry...I had sung professionally years ago...lived in the Los Angeles area... and who doesn't like Handsome, Rich Commanding men...

That was all it took...Click Click, Beg was mine.

And then I became C.D. Reiss' Bitch...

Because Beg was wonderful in its presentation of the premise, the characters and tone... it got the locations perfectly and then Damn it...Reiss added that little extra... that thing you can't put your finger on....that thing which captivates and calls to you while you read...

It sits on your shoulder whispering in your ear...

"Hey....did you see that...yeah, that ... that phrase...I know it made you feel something, didn't it... ok... just checking to see if you are paying attention...."

And when that happens in a good way... the way delicious reads can do... it is not because someone is trying to be in your face.. or use a trick to show how smart they are. No, when it happens it is because the mind, body and read are all in sync...when the reading is special... at least for me.

So, like the little Addicted Reader I am, I clicked all of the books of the series available. Which meant I had to wait like all of the other readers for Resist and Sing.

It was sad yet at the same time so exciting because more was coming and if I was patient enough, I would be back in the pleasure groove of Jonathan, Monica and C.D. Reiss soon.

If you have not read this series you are sooooooo lucky. You get to have instant gratification. You will meet all the players; develop your relationship with these people as quickly or slowly as you want.

You will be in control, well, in as much control as one can be when all you want is to know the next thing Jonathan is going to do with Monica... and how Monica is going to receive it.... and what other outside circumstances could impede their relationship.

Oh, yes... you may think you are in control of the reading process but just you wait...it will sneak up on you when you least expect it...like in the car while you are driving... or when you are writing a presentation for work and the sounds Monica uttered when she was with Jonathan start playing on a loop in your head...You get the picture...you are in for a ride.

Enjoy this with my blessing... and if you decide to do this....I am telling you to go and enjoy endless hours of pleasure.

This series will always be special to me. It awakened a mind with beauty strewn across page after page in the form of a unique relationship between two equally powerful characters... each the ying to their yang...Each providing what was necessary in order for the other to be loved and whole. It was done in a way that deeply connected to me and I will always be grateful for the experience.

This series is one of MY ALL TIME FAVORITE SERIES EVER!! It is beautiful, sensual, intriguing, heartbreaking, loving, and very erotic. The words of CD Reiss are magical, lyrical and poetic. As you read, you are transported into the story. You feel when the characters feel, you cry, you laugh, you blush, you just feel the intensity of their connection. I was completely moved while reading this love story of Jonathan and Monica.

I read the entire series when they were individual books. I was super ecstatic when I heard that all the stories would be incorporated into one book. It makes it easier to binge read when it is one continuous book. I'm sure everyone can relate to just one more chapter before nightfall. And let me prepare you, you may not get a lot of sleep once you being reading, it's a book that you will find very hard to put down. .

So if you want an epic love story, one that will take you on a journey of discovery, magic, and erotic lovemaking, Complete Submission is the book for you. Jonathan and Monica are a couple that you will never forget and one that you will definitely want to reread about. Their connection, their strength, their bond is one for the ages.

Monica is the struggling musician, working as a waitress as she waits to be discovered. That discovery comes, but not in the way she imagined. She captures the attention of Jonathan, who happens to own the establishment she just got fired from. One look and he knew he had to have her. Her music has been her passion and in order to allow that talent to breathe she had sworn off all men until Jonathan infiltrates her thoughts, imagining what his touch could do since just the way he looked at set her on fire.

Jonathan is not in a position to lend more than just his body. His heart is still tethered to his past and although Monica can sense that he could destroy her, she can't seem to say no.

This story gives you the struggle of a woman who is coming to terms with her willingness to submit to a man, leaning that it does not break her, degrade her or make her weak. It makes her loved. And the story of a man who lost control once and has fought every day to never let it slip from his grasp. But having to face that there are things in life you can’t control and times when you must bend.

I've read hundreds of romance/erotica reads in the last few years and not once has an author completely captivated me with their words the way that CDR has. Every single sentence in this series matters. There is no denying how hot the scenes are, but the beauty lies within every corner of this story. The way words are used to paint such vivid images. Monica has remained as one of my favorite heroines, she is fierce and never loses sight of who she is and what she wants. Jonathan intrigued me then won me over from my original reading of the series, but I have to say that knowing how this series plays out, seeing him during moments in this series moved me beyond words.

As the story progresses, CD Reiss brings us Jonathan’s point of view. For the first time we get to see exactly what he’s thinking. How strong his desire is for Monica and that moment when things change for him and he sees clearly and he shows he’s willing to fight.

“If I’d ever seen anything as sexy as Monica Faulkner in a stretched-out T-shirt and wielding a stringed instrument, I’d be at pains to remember it.”

This entire series is a powerful experience. Between moments of pure animalistic passion and the brilliance of poetic writing; there was not a moment that you felt like your mind could wander from the story. CDR has a style that is so different from the thousands of authors out there. It’s not anything about someone being a better storyteller than someone else, it’s just a different tone and the way to tell the story. I’ve been entertained, gutted and made weak in the knees by all sorts of writing; it doesn’t need to be complex or over dramatic for me to latch on to it. But SOS was just so different, something that set such a stark contrast to everything else. Although the idea of a rich guy that is a little kinky who falls for the younger struggling girl is not a new idea in a romance book, this was not a recycled version of a used plot. Who the characters were, the roles they played didn’t matter. Their love mattered, the story was them – their passion, and everything else was just there in the back ground.

Rudyard Kipling said “Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind.” Now I know when he uttered these words he wasn’t imagining them used in the context of describing an erotic series. But the sentiment is the same. CDR used her words to captivate the reader, to bewitch the reader into falling down the rabbit hole and making us forget for the hours spent in the company of Jonathan & Monica; that they did not exist beyond our imaginations. A story told with such conviction there was no ability to deny it was real. The ability to turn fiction into something that feels so real that you can almost hold it in your hands may be a talent that many possess, but for CDR, it’s a talent that she has mastered.

As the series wraps up with Sing we get something completely different. A story that has the same passion as before, but showed in new ways. I was emotionally drained, completely ruined. CD Reiss reached inside of me and tore out every emotion. I struggled with the choices, I knew the consequences. I wanted it, at nearly all costs – but not enough to watch it all be destroyed.

It was the perfect imagery that C.D. Reiss creates with her words. Every chosen word seems deliberate and with purpose. And I have read books that brought me to my knees before, but I was a complete mess during this one.

"You look at me. Your eyes eat me alive, I feel you between my legs, even though you're half a room away. If I could draw you closer with my desire, you'd be on me. I'm hungry for you."

'... I can breathe

I can see

I can sing half a woman...'

"...'tomorrow I'm going to destroy you. I'm going to mark your body and ruin your mind. By noon, you won't know whether to laugh or cry. But tonight? Tonight, I will revere you. I will build an alter of myself. I will frame you in the stars."

And she wraps up it up with Monica, the much needed ‘next chapter’ after we pulled ourselves off the floor after Sing. Showing us two characters that had such strength be so vulnerable, both struggling to come together in a way that was reminiscent of their past but would not jeopardize their future. It was the epi that that would hold us over. Keep her fans from crashing the gates until CODA would go from thoughts to sentences to chapters... and released to all of us hungry for more.

A path was set in place, a journey we all took along with Jonathan and Monica. It was set with stones of passion and it was laid out with such a strong desire that twisted you to your core. Along the way we fell in love with Jonathan and Monica, and we discovered the fantastic talent of an author who dazzled us with her words.

If you have not yet picked up this series, stop everything you are doing right this minute and get it. Read it, devour it and join the rest of us that have fallen completely in love with it.

Songs of Submission will remain one of my favorite series of all time, even after more than a thousand books read.

I thank the writing gods (or maybe the barista at Starbucks that keeps her coffee filled and warm) that she decided to venture into Erotica and that a crazy family called the Drazen’s spoke to her and continue to rattle off in her head. I hope the voices never quiet.

I finished this box set in 2 days!! I DEVOURED it!!! And, Now I KNOW what all the fuss is about!!! Ahhh Jonathan, your dominating dirty ways were a blast to finally read!!! I don't know if I am happy with every aspect of this tumultuous journey with your "Canary". There were parts that just pissed me off. There were parts that made me swoon! And... hot damn there were a few panty changes!!!

CD Reiss certainly has a wayyyyy with words!!!!!!! She loves the dirty words and she is not afraid to use them, repeatedly!!! I have been hearing about this series for a while. I wanted to get it once it was all wrapped up in a nice little bundle. (So many parts over my Kindle would have caused my brain extensive damage!! Major OCD) I got this the first day the box set was released, it is an awesome deal!!!!

Now. If you are ready for Jonathan and Monica, and "friends" (use that word loosely!!!!)... Find a nice quiet corner, comfy clothes, comfy chair and bring a snuggley blanket (you might need it to hide your hands) and get ready for a hot, explosive, angsty, sexy, and sometimes-SO-crazy-that-you-want-to-throw-your-Kindle RIDE... hang on tight!!!!! This story will grab your attention from the first page. The writing is flawless. The story is enthralling!!! Just some of the actions of some of the characters that ticked me off, but I guess that is the sign of an amazing author, when she can bring out so many emotions, good and bad ones!!!! I will admit that there were a few pages that I had to read through tears... I was SOOO scared at one point, my stomach hurt, leaking eyes, and nose and I could not stop reading!!!!!! Loved reading each novella and being tortured with the cliffies waiting for the next installment......yes I'm a Machiost!! But after reading through this series again in one sitting, I'm just blown away, Ms ReIss is a master story teller and I could REread her books a thousand times and pick up on something new each time. She truly brings erotica to poetry. It's so beautifully written , it takes your breath away.

If you haven't met Jonathan and Monica then you must. This beautiful, strong , talented submissive meets a handsome , Dom. But this is not your typical D/s story. Did I mention that she's strong and not Wishy washy or annoying?? Did I mention that he's not afraid to love cause he has loved before. Deeply. No, this truly is an original story told so beautifully that you must read now!!

Can't ever get enough of this series!! Just when I think I know this series front to back and inside out I am pleasantly surprised I feel something MORE with each re-read.

The characters whether main or supporting, good or bad, burrow into your soul and never let go. They all are an intricate part of this beautiful erotic story. The writing is beyond words.......exceptionally fantastic does not do it justice but will have to do.

In just a few short hours CODA will draw this story of love to a conclusion. Where it will sit on my shelf forever a favorite forever a "go to" and always a top recommendation.

Complete Submission is a very sexy book, but to call it mere erotica is to short-change it. This beautifully written novel features two fascinating characters, Monica and Jonathan, and a compelling storyline, and it stayed with me long after I read the last page. Monica, in particular, was such a beautiful, vulnerable, fully realized character that I positively ached for her to find happiness. This would have been a five-star read for me, were it not for the fact that after *something* happens to Jonathan, the story drags. I also wasn't entirely satisfied with the HEA. Still, an intense, wonderful read.

I regret the fact that I only read this book by CD Reiss just now. I don’t know how this book gets passed me by. The writing is flawless. Complete Series 1-8, yes, it’s long and but let me assure you that there is no boring part. The phase and sequences of the story are well written. Jonathan Drazen and Monica Faulkner is one couple you won’t forget. Their love story is just amazing.There are times when I don’t like Jonathan the way he treats Monica. But then again, he just loves Monica too much that he thought he’s protecting her. I love the way, CD portrays Monica, she may be a submissive, but she’s her own woman. This is just a work of fiction, but you’ll notice how thorough the research was about BDSM and that’s what's great about this writer she knows what she writes. For me this book is…

I've read all the books in this complete series before. I have also reviewed each one of the separately. So I'm not going to do a detailed review on here.

I re-read all of these again, when I purchased this complete series, I wanted to refresh my memory of all the details, of the story of Monica and Jonathan, before Coda was released.

So this is the story of Monica, an incredibly talented and unique singer. Who also has to work as a waitress in clubs, until she hits the big time. She incredibly focused and determined to be what she wants to be. She will not let anything get the in way of her career, and future. That includes men. She doesn't have the time or emotions for a relationship. Her last one drained her, and she has been celibate ever since it finished. 18 months ago.
Until one day, she has no choice. She meets her boss, the enigmatic, powerful, and stinking rich business mogul, Jonathan Drazen.
There is no walking away from this man, no matter how hard she tries. He has already started to eat in to her soul, just from first glance. First touch and she is lost.

So begins an incredibly intense, and unconventional, but stupidly sexy relationship. The chemistry between these 2 characters in hot enough to still be smoking in the final book.
Each story is quite short (novella length) but you never notice. The writing and content is potent, and intense, you forget how long they actually are.

The twists and turns that run throughout this entire series, are amazing and shocking, and leave you in awe of the writing genious that is C.D.Reiss.

This will always be one of my fave series, and having them all together in this bundle, is perfect. I always buy whatever C.D.Reiss releases, and not just for the pretty artwork, this was a must buy of 2015, and I fell in love with the story all over again!

Initially I found Jonathan and Monica in a free novella called Beg. I was drawn to the beautiful cover and the free price. Immediately I was drawn into this fascinating world of a struggling but strong singer in Los Angeles. CD Reiss was able to create such an intricate world with poetic words that I was hooked. Lucky for me the next three installments were out because I couldn’t have survived the wait in between.

This is the only series I wish I could experience for the first time again and again. Anytime I come across someone who hasn’t read it, I’m genuinely jealous of them. I can’t even recall the number of times I’ve reread this series.

This story has the sexy, rich Dominant man found so often in this genre but CD Reiss gave us such a strong heroine in Monica. I love a strong female character and Monica is fierce! This is definitely the first time I’ve enjoyed the female as much in the series as the male. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Jonathan. He’s the be all – end all book boyfriend as far as I’m concerned. So much so that my hubby is jealous! This is a fantastic series. If you haven’t read it then I’m jealous and there’s no reason not to buy it! You’re so lucky to get it all together in one bundle!!

Once you enter the fantastic world of CD Reiss’ writing you won’t stop here. Her other books are just as wonderful. She’s top of the class – top of the world as far as I’m concerned. Anyone who knows that I read this genre always asks what my favorite book is and I say CD Reiss is my favorite author. Anything from her will ruin you, in the best way, long after you’ve finished with her work!

☆☆☆☆☆ 5 PERFECT STARS. ☆☆☆☆☆

I dont even know where to start with this review, so I'm just going to keep it simple and honest.

If you want a series with really well written characters in, then this is the series for you.
If you want a story with a wonderful storyline that is consistent, then this is the series for you.

You'll laugh, love and cry.



It's taken me about a month to get through, and It has fast become a ritual for me, after a long day I've caught up with Goddess & King on an evening. I've followed their story from start to end in my eyes. I don't feel the need to carry onto Coda just yet, I feel like I need to just let this series settle for a bit because Sing took me on a bit of an emotional roller coaster.

A beautiful series that I have a feeling will always stay with me. Sad it came to an end, but happy I have the choice to pick up Coda when I feel I need for a M&J fix.

A definite must read ♡

First off I want to admit that I am not a huge fan of serials and have mostly stayed away from them. The idea that I could get sucked into a story and then have it just stop until the next installment comes in weeks or months later just isn't my cup of tea. Hell - there was a time when I wouldn't read series at all but I got over that when most of the series I read at least had a HFN at the end of most of the books. The other problem I have is paying $2.99 for 100 pages at a time and by the time the serial is over the damn story cost me like $24 dollars. Somehow that just doesn't play right for me. I was lucky enough to stumble on this great deal and got to read what turned out to be an AWESOME story all at once for a great price.

First off.....Jonathan Drazen. YOWZA this is one hot alpha male. Sure he had his quirks and things about him that were just so wrong but quite honestly WHO CARES. The man is to die for and I totally fell for him as much as Monica did.

As for Monica.....I really liked her, A LOT. She may be a submissive but she is definitely not submissive if you know what I mean. I liked the way the story flowed(since I got to read it all at once) and I loved periodically getting Jonathan's POV as well. This so helped to see where he was coming from.

I have to recommend these books to anyone who likes the Dom/Sub genre and oh dear lord the sex was smoking HAWT! It almost gave me a heart attack....;D

ONE OF MY TOP FAVORITE SERIES!

I remember reading the first book and thinking, this is different from the rest. I continued with the series, waiting like a crack addict for my next fix. I could write a long review for each and every book, but you need to experience this all on your own.

I remember reading the last book with tears in my eyes because it was over. Just read it. (In my Jonathan Drazen voice)

I just stumbled across this series and I'm so happy I did. I loved everything about this series. The characters - Monica and Jonathan. Their relationship is beautiful written and I feel every flaw, joy and pain with them. I couldn't stop reading and that's because of C.D Reiss. She writes flawlessly and makes me feel connected to the characters and their story. Can't wait for CODA.

This series has been on my list of top 5 since the day I started reading it! The heat, the chemistry, the depth of the characters and their stories is phenomenal. No one can write an alpha male and a strong heroine like Christine can. Get ready to get sucked into the lives of Jonathon and Monica and you’ll love every minute you spend with them.

I was so sucked into this book I have a book hangover and I’m depressed it’s over. CD Reiss has to write me more. There’s been nothing like this. I don’t know how I’ll recover from Jonathan and Monica.
